This is my first review after reading reviews for years. More over 50 women need to be represented so here I am. Since Paula B. recommended it, I thought I'd give it a try and I didn't hate it. It was almost ok but I realize I need more coverage at this stage in my life. It looks nice when first on, but doesn't last. The coverage is very light so if you are young and have nice skin on the dry side I say try it.

Oof. Not a fan of this. I normally wear foundation, but wanted to start wearing less makeup and do the "less is more" approach. I started by switching over to a tinted moisturizer. This is my very first one I tried. The packaging is actually nice. Nothing fancy by any means, but it's a squeeze bottle, easy peasy. Works for me just fine. I got this TM in Medium and the color seemed to work and blend perfectly for me. I applied over a primer and it went on pretty nicely. I noticed immediately that it felt a little heavy but I didn't reallly feel too bothered by it. I put on a little cream blush and was off to work. By 10:00 I still had that heavy feeling, but noticed that most of it had worn off but I had orange blotches sporactically around my hairline and on my cheeks. Very random and weird. And it looked awful. I tried to fix it and clean it up as best I could at work, but honestly, my face looked really bad for the rest of the day. I couldn't wait to wash it off. When it's first applied, it looks pretty nice. Not a lot of coverage but evens things out a little bit. Over time, it just does not look very good. (At least for me, it didn't.) I hate to give anything a bad review, honestly, but this just was a waste of money for me. Not recommended, unfortunately.

I have dry, sensitive skin and although I don't have acne-prone skin (I get the occasional pimple here and there), I wanted to start using tinted moisturizers instead of foundation because they're supposed to be less likely to cause breakouts. I love Boots products and I really like this one, but I can't give it more than three stars because it broke me out. I've been using it for a little over a month and like I said, I usually don't have a big problem with acne. It wasn't immediate, but within a couple weeks I noticed I was getting an unusual amount of pimples here and there. This is the only new product I've been using lately so I'm going to stop use and hopefully that will clear me up.
But, aside from breaking out, I really like this product. It provides light coverage that I love. It doesn't cover me up so much that it evens out my skin tone. The SPF is a plus as well. There's no bad smell and it moisturizes nicely, but for someone like me with dry skin you really should use a regular moisturizer beforehand because, like any foundation, this stuff with accentuate dry skin. I find that if there's a spot where my dry skin managed to pass both lines of moisturizer, a little bit of my finishing powder blends it very nicely. Also, this stuff does tend to wipe off easily until it sets properly. I speed things up by setting it with my finishing powder. Lasts for awhile without needing any touchups. I do notice a little shine in my T-zone after a few hours if I wear this stuff without my finishing powder.
I checked the ingredients and noticed Methylparaben and mineral oil, both have been known to cause acne. While I wish I had checked the ingredients beforehand, I don't regret buying it and will keep this product. I'll probably just use is less.
Keep in mind as well that there are only two shades of this stuff, fair and medium.

Boots in general is an amazing skincare and makeup line. I think they are more prodigeous with skincare as opposed to color, but their makeup is nothing to sneer at either. It's just their color line is not as vast as their skincare, which probably has twice the amount of products. There are Boots free standing stores in England and in London there are lines to get into them! That's because it's the quality of high end/prestige brands normally found only in department/Sephora stores at down to earth prices (they are sold here in Target) and there is usually a Boots specialist working on the weekends minimally; something not usually found in a drugstore/Walmart/Target. I reviewed Cliniques tinted moisturizer elsewhere here and determined it came down on the side of foundation (as per it's coverage) vs. tinted moisturizer. This Boots product is the opposite. It is very sheer. A man could use this and the sheerness and finely ground pigments would not give it away. It always looks like skin. The colors are extremely limited (I think there are 3 shades: fair, medium and dark.) They can get away with it due to how lightweight in color/coverage and texture it is. There is an SPF of 15 built in. It's for all skin types, though it is a light weight in moisture as well. You'll never get greasy/oily from this. Good skin looks GREAT. Average skin looks GOOD. There is definitely a refinig quality to it and because Boots is a skincare line as well they don't skimp on the quality of ingredients. This is a no brainer: It's a lightly tinted, lightly moisturizing, skin nurturing/protective product that walks the fine line of makeup and skincare perfectly and at an inexpensive pricepoint. Buy this. You won't be disappointed! I LOVE it!!!I LOVE everything about Boots. If you've never seen/bought it you're in for a real treat.

I bought this in 02-Fair and I am NC25 in MAC. This is the perfect product for the winter because I can cake this on and it doesn't look cakey. It lasts relativity well throughout the day but it's not really the ideal tinted moisturizer I'm looking for. I will use this but will no be repurchasing.

Normally I like boots No7 products, but not this time.
I purchased the medium shade tinted moisturizer...it is very orange. The SPF is 15, which I've used before but for some reason this made my skin very dry - almost like an orange peel.
I wish I kept the box to return it, as I only used it twice. It didn't work out for me: I have sensitive, acne prone skin that I use a prescription for. If you have a similar back ground you may want to reconsider purchasing

Great product!! I was in search for a great tinited moisturizer and I stumbled upon this product! If you want coverage, this (as well as most tinted moisturizers) doesn't cover dark spots or acne marks but if you use the Boots No7 Concealer after applying this then it looks like you're wearing foundation! The finished result is sheer and natural-looking and overal very beautiful! It's lightweight and for the price, there is a lot of product! I also found out by the nice woman who sold it to me that none of the ingredients are harsh on the skin, which is great to know(:
Buy it!

I love this tinted moisturizer so much! It's really easy to blend, it actually moisturizes, and it doesn't smell like sunscreen! I only use a small amount and it literally covers up my whole face. This is my go to product when I don't feel like wearing any make-up or don't have much to conceal. The only downside is the color choices. Fortunately, the medium fits me to the T. The only downside is the packaging. Since the moisturizer is a little runny, I sometimes squeeze more out than I need to. I would only recommend this product to those from combination to dry skin. If you have oily skin you may want to think twice about this product because it can make you look shiny. But besides that this is great! I only use this, concealer, and powder and I'm set!

My first tinted-moisturizer, and I am impressed. This gives me sheer color & the moisturizer part feels pretty great too. The only con is that it tends to rub off easily if you so much as wipe your mouth, but that's inescapable for most foundations. continued >>

Absolutely LOVE this tinted moisturizer! I've only used it for a few days now but I couldn't be happier! It goes on smoothly and lasst all day. My beauty routine begins at 7am and it still looks fresh and perfect at 10pm with zero touchups! I have had more compliments about my appearance in the last few days than ever and the TM has been my only beauty change. It looks natural, not cakey, and does not settle into my facial fine lines the way foundation does (liquid and mineral powder). I have FINALLY found a keeper!!!!

This is the first TM that I have used (from 3 years back). It was an OK product, but since they've discontinued for dark skin, I went on the lookout for a new TM, which lead me to Dior Hydra life.
I can say that I'm glad that I found a better product as this one really made my face too oily.

I bought this tinted moisturizer because I wanted sheer coverage and this product does just that! Though it gives light coverage, it still evens out my skin tone and covers up my blemishes. It has SPF 15, but has no sunscreen smell. To cover my whole face, I only need to use a little bit of product. This did not cause any breakout either.
I have always considered my skin tone to be a medium shade because I'm half Filipino, but with this product I bought the Light shade because Medium was a little too dark for me. (You can sample this product in stores.) I bought this at Target for about $12 and by the way, Target does not sell Dark in stores.
Overall, a really good product especially for the price!

Pretty good tinted moisturizer.
Has an SPF of 15, shade selection is not bad, and doesn't seem to have any underlying yellow-pink undertones, it is very neutral.
I have this in the shade medium. Around NC-27/30 MAC.
It's too dark for me sooo I can't wear it and it makes me look VERY UGLY since it's the wrong colour. I have to mix this with a BB cream to make me look more normal hehehe
Very light-weight texture and easy to blend.
Small amount of product to cover the entire face
Provides a nice natural glow to the skin, semi-matte finish
Minimal coverage, good for evening the skin tone
Acne, dark circles are still shown, concealer is needed
Oily-combo skin, can set with a light powder, Dry-Normal skin does not.
Nothing HG, would not repurchase, but a good tinted moisturizer

I had so much hope for this TM, since Boots always puts out good products. However, this wasn't the right product for me.
-
Pros:
-good texture--I didn't think it was too "foundation-like"
-evens out skin tone well
-moisturizes
-SPF 15 (could be higher)
-did not cause break outs
-
Cons:
-because it is so "sheer", it only evens out your skin color but doesn't cover up any blemishes or under eye circles
-I purchased it in "fair", which is the lightest tint available, and the color was actually still very dark and like others said, it is kind of orange
-left me looking kind of shiny
-
The color could be remedied somewhat by mixing in a liquid foundation, but that destroys the purpose for me, as I hoped it could be part of my super quick makeup routine. I don't think this is a bad product, especially for the price, and maybe it is worth a try if you have more reddish undertones! I'll finish the container, but will stick to BB creams after this.

Now this is what I call a tinted moisturizer. It seems like most products marketed as a TM are nothing more than a light foundation...they provide coverage but lack any hydrating capacities making it so you have to use a regular moisturizer underneath. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a tinted moisturizer? The No7 Soft and Sheer is is pigmented just enough to provide light coverage and provides a fair amount of hydration to my (currently) dry winter skin. My biggest complaint is that the fair shade is still slightly too dark for my skin. It would be nice if they came out with an extra fair. I will definitely repurchase.

I bought mine on sale and I've been using the product all summer long. I've used a few of Boots No. 7 foundations in the past and I've found them all to be really good, so I was expecting the same from this tinted moisturizer, the texture is quite different from the No. 7 foundations but the coverage is just enough. The "light" shade works well for me, and I just use it like coverup--under my eyes, on my forehead, around my mouth. It blends in really well and lasts for hours. I don't look like I'm wearing obvious makeup but my skin looks better. I'd definitely buy it again for summer wear, but hope I can find the No 7 foundation I like on sale soon, for when colder weather sets in.

The only good thing to say about it is that it did not cause me to breakout. Here's the bad: it's so sheer that you truly get absolutely no coverage at all. You can't see it, so there's no evening out of blotchiness. I bought this because Paula Begoun gave it a good recommendation and says it's one of the best TMs on the market. Huh?! Now I feel like I can't trust any of her reviews. I found it to be a total waste of money so I'm returning it after using it twice. Also, the packaging is a complete snooze.

Let me qualify this review by saying: I wore this product for over a year in the hope that it would grow on me. But it just didn't! The biggest problems are these:
First, this is not tinted moisturizer. It is foundation. It does not moisturize at all and the coverage is more akin to foundation.
Second, I chose the fairest color, and it left me orange. I tried to remedy it by mixing it with moisturizer, but it still gave me a very strange color.
Third, it always felt like I was wearing makeup. Tinted moisturizer is supposed to feel like a light alternative to foundation, but I was always keenly aware of it, and it felt very heavy on my face.
I am giving it two stars because I liked the coverage, but it isn't what it says it is. Go elsewhere for tinted moisturizer.

It's more like a liquid foundation rather than a moisturizer. In the beginning I applied in the way I usually do with moisturizers -- with my hands -- but it sort of dries off really fast and leaves little bits on your face if you don't even it out soon enough. So after a while I started using a makeup sponge. I also mixed the product with some moisturizer, it really helps make it a lot less cakey. It doesn't really clog my pores, since I haven't noticed any acne popping up after using it for a while.
