broke me out. It's too heavy and greasy for my acne prone skin perhaps. decent makeup removing power though.

I LOVE this product. It is a classic because it simply works. I have very dry and sensitive skin so it very difficult for me to find an effective cleanser. I clean my face with it even if I am not wearing any makeup but it does remove makeup very effectively. Just slather it over your face, and remove it with a warm washcloth

Time and time again I purchase this, hate it, throw it away only to forget and buy it again with new expectations....why does everyone love this???? It never takes all my make up off. I only wear eyeliner around my eyes and still end up with panda circles the next morning! Its greasy and I always break out even when I use another cleanser after.
Honestly will not try this again its just awful, and before anyone comments yes i do use it properly wait for it to go clear dissolve makeup yadayada doesn't work for me.

Old classic - my mom had this in her cabinets when I was young, and I find myself repurchasing over and over again. Granted, the packaging could be a bit more hygienic, but given that we're dealing with a thick heavy cream that is rinsed off, I don't bother myself too much about it.
I massage it into my eyes and onto my face at night to remove makeup. I don't do the facial thing that a lot of women seem to mention here, but I find that just massaging gently into my eye area removes my crazy mascara and bb cream with ease. After it appears all my makeup has been removed, I rinse the cream off with water only, and then follow-up with Purity. Using these 2 steps have helped enormously with my new makeup routine, and I think is more gentle than using Oil Cleansers alone and or makeup removers in addition to purity as it would end up drying out my skin too much otherwise.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! I've been using this for 3 years and I LOVE IT!!!! I buy the US version on Amazon as the UK version contains parabens etc and is not so gentle. I use this as my evening cleanser. I just massage it in and buff it off with a clean dry flannel...that's it, no moisturiser needed, nothing! Just clean teeth and bed! If I have heavier make up on then I use a hot damp flannel instead. I have combination, sensitive, rosacea prone skin, but have never had any irritation from this. I don't use it to remove eye make up though, because it does irritate my eyes if it gets in them.

Where has this been all my life?! <3 This is a lifesaver for anyone and any skin type really. I have combination skin (dry around my nostrils and cheeks, ridiculously oily on my T-zone, I know.. I'm cursed) and the cold cream works wonders. I don't wear a crap load of make-up, but I do wear enough to cause break outs and clogged pores.I use this on the days when I decide to cake on my foundation and it pretty much gets everything off. Just go over it with a toner or light facial cleanser to get anything left off. You can massage this into your face and leave it on about 5 minutes for a little mini moisturizing facial too. The only cons about this product is that it's in a tub (unsanitary) and the filmy cover it leaves behind after you rinse it off. I would defiantly buy this again! continued >>

After a day with heavy makeup, like acting in play, this stuff is AMAZING! Especially when I am wearing thick, heavy stage foundation this gets off almost ALL of the makeup. It gets off foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and yes waterproof mascara! I would never use this everyday because it is very thick, but boy does it work! I use a ton of it and whatever doesn't come off, comes off with my toner. It is a gentle way to remove all my makeup!

I really like this product, I use it every day.
I take off my eye makeup with a makeup remover cloth, mostly because I dont like having the cold cream around my eyes. Then I use as directed and it gets all my makeup off. My skin is oily, so I always follow up with a mild cleanser, because I dont like the feeling of it just sitting on top of my skin. Works amazing when used with a cleanser, definitely helps get ALL my makeup off. Cleanser alone usually doesnt get it all, so its great to have such an affordable product that gets the job done properly. Perfect if you wear a lot of makeup like I do.

This is a very gentle and effective makeup remover. Other ones I've tried in the past irritated my eyes (which are not overly sensitive), but this does the trick without stinging or causing new milia bumps under my eyes (thanks to my previously used oil removers).
Yes, this can leave a slight residue on your skin. But 99% of the time after using this, I immediately go in with a cleanser or scrub and that gets rid of it easily. On the rare occasion that I don't wash off the residue, I don't notice any breakouts or irritation. This also takes off my Revlon Colorstay foundation with ease, which is an impressive task on its own. Very inexpensive, lots of product. One jar lasts me 4-6 months.

It's only been 3 days I have been using this product, but it is simply AMAZING!!!!! I apply this all over my face (except under the eyes of course) after taking a bath and cleaning my pores with face wash, and rinse it off before bed. It's like having a facial everyday, but it doesn't irritate my skin. And I have heard it makes you look younger, not so sure how, but there is some magic in it. Bottom line: Love it.

Love this product for my dry skin, especially during winters. I have always been a fan of foam cleanser when I was younger, but since I turned 40 a few years ago, my skin is not the same. I tried many different cleansers & they all seem to either dry my skin out, or left with an uncomfortable film on my skin (especially those cleansing milk). I then thought of this good old cold cream which has been around for so many years, how could I not think of that earlier?
I like that this is just the right texture, not too thick & yet too thin or runny. It sits nicely on the skin when spread, and it just takes seconds to melt my foundations, eye make ups etc. I use a soft tissue and gently wipe all the cream from my face after 30 sec or so, everything would come off with no problem, and my face is soft and feels comfortable. During the summer seasons, I would follow up with a gentle liquid cleanser after using this cold cream, just to get those extra oils out from my face, but for winters, I just leave it as is, and it is all good.
One jar lasts me a while with daily use, I don't need a lot to clean my face. I remember this used to come in lemon scent too, which would be nice if they bring this vintage scent back to the market! I have not try the other cold creams from Ponds, just the classic one. Definitely will keep buying them as Walmart has the best price and sometime they have BOGO as well. continued >>

I absolutely LOVE this product. Amazing at taking off even the toughest makeup! Plus, it's cheaper than the liquid remover! I've been using this for almost 3 yrs and I love it. If you want a money saver, this is def' the product!

This works wonderful for removing even my toughest makeup. With mascaras I sometimes have to use this twice, but I love that using it back to back doesn't irritate my skin in any way, like I have found with many other makeup removers.
I have acne prone skin, so it's a bit too thick of a moisturizing residue left behind for me to not wash my face with my face wash afterward.
I reccoment this product to anyone looking for a new makeup remover for a better, less harsh quality, and a huge price cut compaired to most products of this nature.

I do not have sensitive skin. Upon using this product, I developed allergic reaction around my eye area.
A couple of e-mails to the company, I received my money back. Now I have a full tub of cream sitting in my drawer. Occasionally I use it around my heal for moisturising purpose.

This is one of the most gentle makeup removers i've ever used! It takes EVERYTHING off. Unlike other makeup removers (Neutrogena epsecially) it doesn't dry out your skin as well.
Usually I massage the cream onto my face to loosen the makeup. Then I tissue it off. It is quite oily and leaves a little residue that comes off with cleanser.
The only con is that it has mineral oil :(.

This is the best product for removing makeup I have ever found. It can remove long-wearing makeup, stage makeup, face paint, anything you want to try. You just take a dollop and massage it into your face and then wipe it off.
The way I use it is to first do like I said above, and wipe off the makeup with cotton pads, then put another bit on my face and spend more time massaging it into my face and make sure I get every last bit of dirt off. Then I either wash it off with warm water and a muslin cloth or a washcloth, or I wipe it off again and wash my face afterwards with water and some kind of facewash. The Ponds gets rid of all the makeup, then the facewash gets rid of all the Ponds! My skin tends to be oily and acne-prone so just wiping it off isn't enough for my peace of mind. If I do just wash it off with water and a cloth I make sure I don't do it too often, and sometimes put on benzoyl peroxide afterwards (I'm following the acne.org regime, but less stringently now cos I don't need to). I also use it more this way in winter, if my skin is drier because of the cold.

I love ponds cold cream. It takes up all my makeup effortlessly, even waterproof mascara. It is gentle on my skin, doesn't dry it out or cause redness.
It can leave a residue on your skin, especially of you take it off with a tissue rather than a face cloth, but a little toner gets rid of it easily.
I've tried other brands of cold cream but I've never found one I like as much as pond's. I love the scent and how thick it is - a little goes a long way so a jar lasts ages.
I've given the packaging a high rating because in the UK it comes in small glass jars inside a cardboard box like face cream.

I only use cold cream when I have scary-dry skin or when I need to remove heavy makeup (think 60s mod look - thick eyeliner, eye shadow, false eyelashes, etc...). It is "greasy" so you may need to cleanse afterwards with a mild facial wash (this depends on whether or not the cold cream clings to your skin). I put it on in the shower, let it settle for about two minutes, and then I rinse it off. It removes makeup well, leaves my skin soft and non-irritated, and doesn't clog my pores. However, if you're PRONE TO ACNE I would avoid this product.

The main ingredient in this is Mineral Oil, which is something we should avoid (go to www.beautymouth.com and read Caroline's rant about it) But I can't help but continue to use this! My mom has been using it since I can remember, and it's just something that's so familiar to me...plus they had a buy one get one at London Drugs. I do like the way it makes my skin feel, all soft and moisturized. I do have oily skin, and there's only one for "Dry" and "Normal to Dry". It's still good enough for me, doesn't make me too oily, and besides I use it as my last step when I cleanse at night. I just take a little and massage it onto my face for a couple minutes, and gently wipe it off with a warm towel. Until I find something like this that I like sans mineral oil...I will continue to use it. Sorry Caroline :(
