I LOVE this foundation! I am so annoyed that EL is closing the Px counters. UGH!!!! I have had my bottle for over a year now and after using it every day I still have some left. I am going to go get another bottle made before they close! I guess that I'll have to go on the search for a new HG when I run out...

Only just got my HG foundation and it will be discontinued very soon....how sad. Lauder really need to get their act together and find another way to give us another custom blend foundation...they have enough lines...maybe BB or EL or Clinique? Unable to get a Custom blend concealer as the saleswomen claimed no more empty bottles supplied and they will not use any others. Very sad about that as I need a decent concealer more than a foundation. Hears hoping for good news later. Maybe another company could start the same service? Must be money in this as masses of women were stocking up in Selfridges and House of Fraser in London just a few days ago. Wish I could fly to the US to get the concealer...

All I can say is WOW, my goodness have I ever found my HG of HG!!!!! I started using this stuff a little under a year ago and I just went back to Holt Renfrew yesterday to stock up because my once beloved estee lauder is discontinuing this!!! I am actually panicking about this because when I got my completely accurate!! colour match the first time the sales lady compared it with their lightest premixed and I was 12 SHADES LIGHTER! That's right...TWELVE!!! It is perfect beyond belief, every single piece of makeup I've tried has been too yellow and I could see the woman putting my pink and blue undertones into the makeup...sighs of joy. I got a sheer-medium coverage with a dash of moisturizer as I'm on accutane and the winter months are cruel. What I love as well is that you see what is going into your makeup and it is talc and sunscreen free ( im allergic spf). It matches beautifully and today my friend pointed out that my skin was the first thing she noticed which is amazing because i have inherited cystic acne and rosacea as well as the fact im a hormonal teenager ! So to conclude, this stuff is worth the money as i have probably spent over a thousand dollars trying to find a good foundation and have tried all the pricey high end brands and nothing has left me as completely satisfied as this!
To the people who have left negative reviews I think the problem is finding the right person to mix your foundation who knows what they are doing!! THIS IS KEY! I only trust my sales person to do the mixing for my foundation because it is an art as well as a science. This foundation is good for 2 years as it is antibacterial and spf free, somethings that can ruin your foundation. It applies well with either a sponge or a brush and lasts all say with no oil blotting! FYI Prescrpitives is shutting down the end of january so stock up before then as no new stuff is being ordered in! Good luck! Hope this helps!

They've discontinued this - AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I don't know what I'm going to do, I've looked at everything out there, and I can't find anything. I'm so disappointed. I sent a letter to Estee Lauder, asking them which one of their many lines would now offer custom blend since none of their other lines carry anything I can use. I can't see why someone else can't offer it. But alas, I think I'm SOL. I had just bought one, which will last me about a year, so I went ahead and had one more formulated, made sure the lid was very tight, wrapped it in a numerous ziploc baggies, and put it in a trunk in a closet. So I might be good for two years - but then what? Most of the products they are coming out with are so full of silicone, which I don't do well with, and then there's the fragrances, and don't get me started on how impossible it is for me to find a color that matches my skin tone. Grrrrrrrrr...... Update: I received an email from EL that says you can continue to order your "recipe" online - but only until all the inventory is exhaused.

Ok i finally found my HG foundation when i say IM IN LOVE .Its so the truth .. i have been trying to find the perfect foundation for years , and i can never find anything that is just right . Eaither its too dark , too light or it does not cover anything .I have brought mac foundation which are ok , i have brought makeup forever which sucks , i brought cover fx which it great but too heavy . So let me tell you how i found this wonderful product , yesterday i went to sephora hoping to find something new , soo the lady in there tried on everything !!! and nothing looks good . I looked soo red and discolored i just didnt want to look at myself . so after failing with that , my bestfriend says to me " hey why dont we go to lord and taylors and they can custom blend something for you " . So we head there the lady matches up my color ask me if i would like a glow to the foundation ( i said yes) ask me if i want it oil free (i said yes ) i felt like i was at a spa , i was getting everything i want in a foundation ,so she made my foundation right in front of me and there it was. i was looking soooo damn good everybody in the store said i looked flawless ( and honey with out makeup i look like shit ) so i know that foundation was looking good , also i have hug pores this foundation makes it look as if i have no pores ... im telling every women out there , i sat here reading peoples reviews and trying to get ideas on a good foundation ... but that is a waste of time, go get this .. they make it to match u perfect ... its nooo way you can go wrong with this . i paid 65 $ and it was worth it i got a huge tube of it that will last a year and 4 free gifts ... im a black women and i know how hard it is for us to find makeup thats fits us ,, so if your a black women reading this please go get this .. also to any other race , this foundation would be just as great for you .
also im acne prone and it wont break you out
UPDATE**** ok i still love this , but dont sleep in it it has been times were i went out and feel asleep in it and the next day my face has like 3 to 5 pimples .. if u have acne prone skin dont sleep in it , if u dont then u may be ok

I LOVE this foundation! i have such such fair skin. I practically don't have pigment! I have never ever ever been able to find a foundation that is light enough for my skin. Well when i was 16 (im 21 now) my friend was working at holt renfrew and he had a friend that worked at the prescriptives counter and told me they did custom blend! i was amazed. i thought how could they get the right colour for me!? Well 45 minutes later and waiting patiently my foundation was done. It was perfect!! absolutely perfect. I have NEVER found a foundation that looked so perfect and blended into my neck with ease. very easy to blend and looks very natural on the face. Yes is it quite pricy but this foundation last forever! i compare to when i first started wearing foundation when i was young. covergirl and such. I will never wear anything else again! I also do wear the all-skins mineral makeup spf 15 too in level 1 cool. It really works for me too for a night out!
NOTE!!! Presciptives is stopping production! They will no longer be making their products anymore! I hate you now estee lauder!! so everyone stock up!!

I have acne prone skin with scarring and I have difficulty finding foundation until I discovered the custom blend(s). I have been using this for over 15+ years and it is my favorite. You must find an experienced cosmetic person to mix your blend, because I have had my fair share of bad blends. I always take them back to Macy's if I have a problem and they will correct it.

I buy the custom blend concealor and powder, and I keep the foundation in the fridge and it lasts longer and feels really good going on your skin. I will never buy another foundation than Prescriptives. I also purchase a bottle of foundation from their regular lineup and use the custom blend foundation sparingly because it is expensive.

The colour was perfect I have a problem with foundations as my skin is so pale. I have bad skin and explained i needed good long lasting coverage. When i used it the following day it lasted about 1 hour. If you dont mind reapplying this every hour or so I would recommend it for the colour match otherwise i would try another foundation and dont make a costly £45 mistake.

As someone who's been looking for the perfect foundation & powder for years, I was pleasantly surprised by how the SA was able to mix up the perfect makeup for me. It is a bit expensive, but considering it's made for you and to your specifications, it's not really that bad. I have oily skin and I haven't tried liquid foundation in years. But the SA made me some sheer liquid foundation with oil control. I love it! She perfectly matched my skin tone. I usually just wear sheer powder since my skin is so oily. I've always had hard to match skin, which often means regular foundations are either too pinkish or too yellow. I found this foundation to be a really good fit and quite lightweight. However, because the price is quite high and I only need the lightest coverage, in the future I would look at getting a tinted moisturizer blended.

Great Product. Was at a promotion at the mall and found this product and absolutely loved it. Used it with Prescriptives SLPX serum and my face glowed! But since its custom blended, it can get to be expensive. Wont buy only for the price :(

This product made we want to cry. I was reading the reviews of this and I was so excited ti try it. Yesterday I went to the local Macys to get the custom and the lady mixed it up. I got full coverage with oil control. When i left the store my face was completely pink but I was forgiving because I thought when I would go to apply it, it would look better.
Today I preped my face and put it on and the application just never looked right(i used my cover fx cream brush which i use to stipple and usually works great), since that did not work i wiped it off and tried it with a regular foundation brush, still not good, then a sponge, then my fingers... no matter what i did it just did not look right.
So i gave up and just left, and hour later it all gathhered to my cheeks and looked so bad and cakey and then an hour after that my face looked like an oil slick. Then after that the make up just bega to vanish.
For 62 dollars this stuff should be amazing but it is not.... it made me truely said and tomorrow im off to return it.

I have been using this product for 2 years and I love it. In the past I have had some horrible experiences in my many attempts to find a foundation and concealer that matches my skintone. After searching every possible makeup line, I was directed by a friend to try this product. Gone are the days of searching for the perfect shade...this is it!
Even thought it is a little pricey and the process is a little time consuming, it is well worth. So be prepared to allow the makeup artist to blend and experiment with your skin for at least 30 minutes and yes it is important that you take a look at your skin in the natural light to ensure that you are satisfied with the blend. Overall it is well worth it!

The color didn''t match exactly but it's a decent foundation. It think it's a bit overpriced considering it's custom blended. I like the consistency and it didn't break me out but did not find it much different than Revlon's Colorstay liquid foundation. It's a decent foundation but I don't think it's worth the price unless they can match your color exactly, which wasn't my case.

If you have a hard undertone/skintone to match this is worth it.
I have close calls with foundation but you can tell im using it because its not exact and they dont have sufficient green undertone to match.
The first person who custom blended chose the wrong undertone despite me telling him several times I am y/o and not r/o. But i let it be. He had to work hard to cancel out the red undertones and give it a yellow one. I took it home and it looked okay but then i reapplied and saw that YUP it had a tint of red and was not right for me.
I returned it and the next person got it down super fast. I was given a y/o, sheer, level 2, candlelit additive, oil control additive, 1 pump red, 5 pumps yellow, 2 pumps tan and 3 pumps green.
Prior foundations were MAC NC25, Cargo F40 (not enough golden -green), Revlon Golden beige, EDM Buff Light Neutral, but I can also use EDM olive light, Olive-light martian, and golden-light. But the olive tone works better.
I'll come back for a medium coverage one because the sheer was so perfect. But that'll have to wait for 6months or so.
I have light-medium yellow-green skin common in light skinned carribbean racially mixed hispanics.

I want to preface this with a reminder, getting your foundation/powder custom blended is the option you chose if you are IN BETWEEN SHADES and can not find a foundation that matches your skin tone. People gripe about how over priced it is when there are pre-made foundations that don't cost as much, but that is missing the point all together. If you can find a foundation that already matches your skin tone, you don't need to get one custom blended!
On to the review!
I am quite a fan of this product. It looks great all day and goes well on my skin. The only place I have trouble getting it even is on my nose but I have that problem with all foundations. The color match is creepily perfect and the girl blending was a total doll and made sure I was totally satisfied with it before she finished.
One very important warning for those with VERY sensitive skin: When I first got it blended I had an oil control additive and another one that had sparkly stuff in it (I can't remember the specific names). Soon after I began using it, the skin around my nose became very flaky and irritated. Once that cleared up the skin above my lip started flaking. Both problems lasted for a long time. Now, I am NOT 100% sure if it was the additives that caused this but I never had the problem until I started using this.
EDIT:
I went back to the Prescriptives counter and told them what happened and they remixed it for me (for free) without both additives. Since then I haven't had the skin problems.
So, I guess the moral of the story is that us gals with super sensitive skin should avoid any of the extra additives in the makeup!

Custom Blend is their signature or flagship product, MA who mix up the bottle for you has to be experienced, in order to provide the 100% matching skin tone foundation. The bottle you get will last a good part of a year without worrying to get replacement.
However, being really broke nowadays, I wouldn`t buy it again, as it`ll burn a big hole in my wallet!!

This is my HG foundation. I have used this foundation then switched to several brands trying to find a cheaper alternative but I have had no luck. Yes it's pricey but well worth it because I have sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin. This is the only foundation that does not cause me to break out and it keeps my oil production under control. I don't care how much it costs or how far I have to drive to get it. That's how great this foundation is. The color is matched 100% to my skin tone and it addresses all of my skin concerns. One bottle will usually last me 8 months or longer so it's well worth the price and I don't need to buy a separate concealer. Plus the MA always gives me the mixing bottle and travel size bottle to take home so I get even more foundation.

This is just OK, IMO. I got this a few years ago after my perfect liquid Bobbi Brown formula was changed. This custom blend was okay, but a few weeks later I got the $3 Wet n' Wild liquid foundation in Honee and it seemed exactly the same! The WnW maybe has even a better (matte but not too dry) finish. I used the prescriptives foundation up because it was such a big investment, but never liked it as much as the WnW. Waste o' money.
