after cleansing my face, if theres a blemish that is in the making, i dab this on at night, then next morning either its gone or tamed, since its only 2.5% benzoyl perox. its nondrying but still gets the job done. the other acne treatments can be too drying for my sensitive combo skin. so love this stuff!
I usually use this product when i notice im about to get a pimple. most of the time i put it on before bed, it drys and feels unnatural which bugs me a little. But usually that next morning the pimple is gone, no sign of it being there. I noticed that if i did try to pop a pimple, then put the product on, it just irritated my skin and the pimple just became worse and i got one acne scar. So if you use it, make sure you don't mess with any of your blemishes/pimples, no matter how ugly they may look. I just put the product on w/o messing with the pimple and it took me a night or just two days for the blemish/pimple to go away.
I have been off and on with this product. I have oily skin and break out occasionally. Every time I use it, it seems to work for me, making my blemishes decrease, but it takes a couple of days. The bad thing is, it always leaves a scar. Even if I get rid of a pimple, a little red mark leaves in its place, so it looks like the pimple never even left. One day I will find a good spot treatment, but this is all that works for me so far.
After trying this product my skin began to burn very badly to the point where I wanted to wash it off but after 1/2 an hour it started to calm down. When I woke up the next morning there was red blotches where I placed this product because of how irritating it was! It also is very drying. I definitely do not recommend this if you have sensitive skin. My blemishes are flatter, I give it that, but it's not worth the redness that won't go away! I read the other reviews and they must have changed the formula!
It works better than anything else I've tried! Acne spots become much more insignificant and less red after only one night, and it doesn't irritate or whiten my skin like some other acne products.
The best spot treatment i've ever used. It does not irritate my sensitive skin and stops spots from forming, helps to heal them faster and keeps my skin bump free. I always moisturize my skin after i apply the treatment, cause it tends to make skin drier. However lately noticed that this 2.5% formula gets less effective on me, will try 5% after i finish. But meanwhile excellent products that actually works, recommend
I went to the gym with this on and after a 30 min run I had white sweat marks running down my face. So for gym-goers, beware! The treatment from acne.org does not give me this problem.
I use BP on my entire face twice a day and I think this is probably more suited for those who only apply it to problem areas because it's a small tube and comes out as a thicker cream.
This is a product which I've been using for years. I only just realized that I haven't written a review for it.
I love this product and it's one of the few products that I'm very confident of using. I know that by applying it, my inflamed spot will get smaller overnight, and it always does.
I'll cleanse my face with neutrogena blackhead eliminating daily scrub (because I like cleansers with a sandy feel), and usually use The Body Shop tea tree toner. Then i'll use this all over my face, usually concentrating on where I've spots. My face has got better over the years, but I have those tiny bumps over my forehead. Even though I pin up my fringe, these tiny bumps remain. They're not inflamed or red or anything, and can only be seen close-up, but they're pimples nonetheless. For my cheeks and chin, I get pimples sometimes (larger, more inflamed), but they are usually clear, with old acne scars.
I use this almost every day, and concentrate on any breakouts I have. For those REALLY cystic acne (I get a huge inflamed spot maybe once a month or 2 months), I just need to apply a copious amount on the spot itself and rub it in lightly. It does not disappear overnight but gets under control in about 3 days, and dramatically smaller.
If I find that I'm getting more small bumps, I just need to apply this GENEROUSLY, and everything is under control overnight.
Love this. Reliable and fuss-free. Does not stain your clothes and no icky feeling. It does not dry me out but I've oily skin. I usually don't have to apply moisturizer after, although at times my skin feels slightly taut. My skin rarely flakes off due to dryness after applying this. However, I use this only at night as I find that my skin is too dry for smooth application of foundation in the day. In the morning, I only use this on any cystic acne I have. Otherwise, I'll just skip this.
I'm also 40 years old and have had acne to one degree or another for almost 30 years. Lately, I've been dealing with terrible hormonal acne - cysts along my chin and jaw line that take weeks to clear and cause scarring. Not to mention that random white head here, there, and everywhere. I started using Neutrogena On-The-Spot as part of the acne.org Regimen (with over the counter products) about six weeks ago, and I'm here to tell you my skin is CLEAR. (O-kay, I still have a few blackheads on my nose, but that's it). In fact, I didn't even realize I was about to get my period because I didn't get a single cyst or pimple leading up to it. My face looks really good! I'm kind of blown away. I've tried so many products over the years and who would've thought I'd be back to benzoyl peroxide?!
I bought this product at Walmart yesterday.
Yesterday i had a couple zits having a party on my forehead, along with some healing pimples and some new and upcoming pimples around my nose and two whiteheads on my chin.
Smacked this little tube of wonders on all of them and BAM
next morning all of the zits on my forehead and whiteheads on my chin were either gone or shrunk dramatically (to just little bumps and the ones on my cheeks shrunk as well. Ill keep putting this on once a day and come back in about a week to see if it's cleared my skin or not *crosses fingers* :)
