Delicious! I love tuberose, and Fracas is the ne plus ultra of tuberose fragrances. I've read lots of reviews about how this is an ultrafeminine/diva fragrance for special nights out, but I wear it any time (in very tiny dabs: my tester vial has lasted almost a year). I feel like it warms up my somewhat androgynous wardrobe.

I spent years searching for a tuberose-dominated scent that was neither too heavy nor turned powdery on me. Fracas was it, and I've enjoyed every moment I've worn it. It's a rich scent where a little goes a long way. I don't really get the "old lady" comments, other than by association if a reviewer happened to know an older woman who wore tuberose. This is sophisticated, cleanly floral, and very wearable.

Got the roller ball...I'm not too crazy about the initial tuberose bite in the beginning of Fracas, but I love it hours later when it becomes subtle and musky with hint of flowers...love it! Fracas is not old lady, it's sexy lady!!
Edit:: Actually, I love this from beginning to end.

Can't get enough of this! Wearing it makes me want to curse with joy -- it's a naughty, happy scent. As others have said, just a little will do. Even a dab will give good trail and it'll last all day.

Kept smelling this at Sephora until I couldn't stand not owning a bottle so I had my hubby smell it on me and he fell in love too. What a lovely "surprise" on Xmas when I opened this black beauty! Love the tuberose which may not agree with everyone. To be able to wear it at work, I spray it on my decolete that is covered by my shirt so I smell it but not necessarily by everyone else. One small spritz lasts me all day. This bottle is not as feminine as other sexy fragrances but it definitely stands out (as does the smell). It makes me so happy when I wear it so I will replenish this forever.

I was expecting a lot more of this vintage perfume. Unlike Chanel #5, also a vintage scent, Fracas comes off as cheap, cloying, and plastic-y. It lasts a pretty long time, and the 1 oz. perfume spray I bought was $45, so it's not that expensive either if you just want to experiment. I know it's been around for a long time (the 1940s), but it doesn't smell 'rich old lady,' 'expensive,' or 'luxurious' to me (terms often used to describe it). It just smells like a bargain basement/drugstore brand fragrance, the kind you'd find in your local CVS or Wal-Mart. Save your money. I have no idea why people are still buying this; it's really unexceptional in every way.

Love the bottle and packaging-- very iconic. My grandmother proudly displayed her Fracas on her dresser, next to the Jungle Gardenia by Tuvache (another heavy-hitter floral). As a child, I remember sniffing the Fracas and thinking it was the most godawful sickening fetid thing I'd ever encountered, but I did allow that maybe it belonged to the realm of "stuff only adults like," along with whiskey sours and pickled herring and canasta.
Now, at age 39, I still have the same visceral "yuck" reaction when I smell Fracas. Tuberose just ain't me. Jasmine ain't far behind. However, I am giving this three lippies because it is obviously a well-composed and costly fragrance that may work wonders on some people's chemistry. I have a healthy respect for distinctive, classic fragrances that take risks. Just don't take the risk of buying this one unsniffed.

This is a warm, heavy, gorgeous elegant tuberose. Unbelievably gorgeous and elegant. I can see this being a daily perfume for me in a few years. Just gorgeous.

I tried a sample and was not impressed. Overpowering at the beginning, it turns into an inoffensive generic fragrance after a few hours. Very expensive.

The Queen Bee of fragrances, Fracas is my absolute all-time favourite; my desert-island perfume. Wear Fracas when you want to make an ENTRANCE, with all capital letters present and correct.
Fracas is a lush tropical flower bomb, evoking dense, damp, heavy pink-and-white petals with a smattering of jungle dew. It is strong so apply with a light hand.
Some say it doesn't last but for me it has the greatest staying power of any fragrance I've tried. I can often smell it on me the next day after showering ... twice.
Limit Fracas to special occasions for maximum impact, as it is definitely not a daytime fragrance by any stretch of the imagination.
Not for the faint-hearted, but don't let that stop you.

I love this fragrance! For me it is a very lovely, creamy gardenia scent, but it is not a fragrance for the woman that doesn't like gardenia or tuberose. It is a bit expensive, and I have to reapply during the day - but I still LOVE the scent.

This a beautiful, well-crafted fragrance. The only reason why I’m giving it four lippies and not five is that there are about other tuberose scents that I love even more: American Beauty Beloved Red Rose, Parfumerie Generale Tuberose Couture, and BBW Velvet Tuberose, just to name a few. Having said that, I can never have too many tuberose fragrances, so maybe I'll buy this one when I start to tire of the others. : )

I seem to be able to tolerate this classic tuberose 15 years after I first sampled it. Not cloying or too floral. Has a hint of creaminess and muskiness. Less-than-stellar lasting power makes me take off 1 point.

Can't do it. I just can't. And I'm disappointed, because I take some pride in being able to wear some very aggressively carnal perfumes. But Fracas is essentially tuberose X 10, and on me tuberose becomes all indoles (the "fecal-like" note of certain heavy spices and flowers, which can actually be an invisible boost to the whole fragrance effect IF your body chemistry doesn't cause them to come front and center). I've tried it a million times and it just makes me feel rotten and nauseous all over.
I do appreciate this as a unique scent and a true classic, but it's definitely aggressive and you MUST try before you buy.

I love this fragrance! Fracas is a creamy gardenia scent. Other people have said that Fracas is overpowering, but I don't find that at all. It is a fragrance that can be worn by young and old alike. If you don't like gardenia then it isn't for you.

I'm not very familiar with tuberose fragrances, and I generally don't even like anything ultra-feminine, but I wanted to try Fracas. To me, it's very pleasant. The floral is there, it's definitely feminine, but it's so sweet, almost candylike floral, that is kept from being too sweet by an undercurrent of something else--something green or a little earthy. It's a good mix that keeps it all in balance, without the screech of some strong florals.
It's actually very similar to a scented stationary I had as a girl, oddly enough. Still, it's too strong for me. It definitely announces its presence over and over, and it's presence, to me, is like a rich, older lady (someone who uses stationary rather than email) which, alas, is not me.
Also, my husband, who likes almost every perfume at least a little bit, said about this one, "I don't like it. At all." So that's one man's opinion, anyway.

Best Tuberose scent out there for me! Sweet tuberose and a little gardenia. Stays all day. LOVE!

After so many raving and uniform reviews, I was just dying to try this one, but once I put it on, all I could think of was "Is THAT is?". I'm a tubereuse fan, I love it in La Chasse aux Papillons (that many compare to Fracas, actually) and I just Adore it in Noix de Tubereuse. Fracas, though, is not only tubereuse, and the pyramid shows a lot of flowers: Tuberose, Jasmine, Jonquil, Gardenia, Lily of the Valley, White Iris, Orange, Sandalwood, Vetiver... OK, you get it. That explains why I smell a lot of metallic freshness in this, it must be the jonquil and Lily, or the Jasmine. And the vetiver, which ruins every other note to my nose. I would imagine an elegant French woman wearing this and red lipstick, but that's not me. It would smell just mismatched on me.

This is a fragrance which I will buy over and over again. It is very feminine and adds a touch of luxury. The fragrance is quite potent and lasts the entire day: worth every penny. I do not think that the fragrance is over priced.
The product description goes a follows: provocative yet pure, quintessentially modern yet redolent of another more glamorous time. Fracas is the fragrance of commotion, tumult and chaos of the heart.
This perfume will be entered into my Lifetime Fragrance Cabinet with other giants such as: Chanel NO 19, Givenchy Amarige, Ajmal 1001 Nights, Rochas Madame Rochas etc.
Notes:
Tuberose, Jasmine, Jonquil, Gardenia, Lily of the Valley, White Iris, Orange, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Musk.
Style:
Seductive. Stylish. Feminine.
