The color shades of double wear are the best you can find for the human skin lol.

I have Fitzpatrick 2 and I use 2c3 fresco in winter.3c2 pebble and 4c3 soft tan in summer. Also combinations. These shaver are cool / rosy.maybe turn ashy sometimes but I don’t like orange ...yellow etc from the N and W line for no reason

I'm not a big make up wearer but when I do, this has always been my go-to m/u base. I wouldn't be able to use this daily even if I wanted to as the silicones in it (first 3 ingredients after 'water') would wreak havoc with my skin, and I should know as have tried using for a whole week and that didn't end so well! My mum recommended this to me initially and she has been using for quite a number of years. I do read a lot of reviews online about it helping with pores and flakiness but neither of us have found it helps with those concerns but as a m/u base you can't go wrong as skin is left silky smooth and everything just goes on s much better. For occasional use I would repurchase this and have done so in the past.

This has been my perfume since highschool 15 years ago. I always like to have one in my collection and keep buying it when I run out. It's not my everyday go to as I found a better happier :) scent which is Calvin Klein escape. Pleasures is very long lasting and flowery scented. If like Jasmine scent this is the one for you. It is on the high end pricing which I don't like too much for all Estee Lauders perfumes. There are a few wholesale stores who would sell them for at least 30%. Less. Try fragrance buy.com if you live in Canada. They have all my goodies there. Or off course any outlet beside your home. Hope you found my review helpful. If so, please hit the helpful button so I know. Thanks so much for reading.

I love Estee Lauder's perfumes, particularly Spellbound and Beautiful, which both smell AMAZING on me. Pleasures, however, is one of those scents that smells lovely in the bottle and lovely on many other people, but unfortunately, it just doesn't work with my skin chemistry, at least not for daytime/all-day use.

This one is marketed as a light, sheer, springlike scent, but on me the patchouli and sandalwood base notes are overwhelming, and they tend to get even muskier over time, making Pleasures almost too intense even for nighttime.

If you are one of those people whose skin brings out muskier notes, try it on before you buy it and WEAR IT ALL DAY before you decide. If, like me, you have trouble with it, try Beautiful or Spellbound as lighter floral alternatives. They're wonderful! :)

I have mostly stopped purchasing expensive mascara because there are so many wonderful drug store products. I bought this because one of my favorite "beauty influencers" highly recommended it and she was right! This is VERY GOOD mascara. It makes my lashes full and long, it does not smudge, and is easy to get off. Caveat, so are the ones from the drug store. So make your choice. I would buy this again, its expensive at $27.50. Its hard to discard this after 3 months!

My HG foundation. I have Acne and I am always looking for a foundation to cover it up along with my oily skin. This foundation has done that for me.

let me just say, this is my summer foundation cause in winter times i want to use a little bit more moisturizer foundation.

i have dry skin, especially around my nose and between my eyebrows, i have some dry patches since i am teenager. i don't have pigmentation, i prefer light to medium foundations. this foundation is medium coverage, dewy but not too dewy that you look like oily mess. staying power is amazing, this stays all day. just because i love powder bronzer and blush, i powder this foundation in my cheek area nothing more. and coverage is there, not budging not smearing just prettiness. for dry skin using hydrating moisturizer or primer will be okay.

I like and use the "original" DW (mixed with OC8 gel), but this foundation should NOT be called "DW" as it's nowhere near as good! I think they called it so only for marketing purposes... It does blend nicely and looks natural BUT: it has no staying power (although it claims "24-Hour Wear"), it does not control oil (another claim they make but it seems to be doing just the opposite for me!), and the packaging is absolutely dreadful! It's super runny and I think it's ridiculous that it comes without a pump of some sort. Granted, the EL website recommends that you "cover the opening with your finger and carefully flip bottle upside down" but that's hardly hygienic, is it? I've ended up transferring it to an empty pump bottle I had (bought on amazon) but that means I "wasted" quite a bit of the foundation in the process, not to mention the spills I experience before the transfer... The colour is also not the same as the "original" DW - although the DWN version of "2C3 Fresco" suits my skin tone better, I can see how someone could be upset at the inconsistency. All in all, the "nude" version of DW is a good idea as the "original" is a bit too heavy for everyday/natural look but I won't be buying it again. If you want to try it, I'd suggest asking for a sample at a EL counter, I wish I had done so myself...

Such a modern classic! Shimmering, soapy, rain-drenched leaves and flowers on a spotless crystalline musk base. Dabs of sandalwood and funk-free white patchouli round out the finish and prevent this from just being straight Camay soap. Refreshing, pretty, and-- because it's a Lauder-- powerful even in its minimalism. I don't wear Pleasures daily, but my bottle gets good, regular use. It serves as a periodic "palate cleanser" for my heavier, sweeter, spicier scents.

You may sniff this and say "meh" just because it's reminiscent of so many similar fragrances that came after it and built on its hyperclean theme. But Pleasures deserves a lot of credit -- both for creating this whole genre, and for being an impeccably crafted and high-quality example of it.

I love Pleasures, in part, because I was already a young adult when it launched in 1995 and I well remember how very groundbreaking it was! No one had ever smelled anything remotely like it. Prior to Pleasures, every fragrance came with a little "funk" or "off note" of some kind or another: for example, Giorgio was heavy with fetid tuberose; Angel dried down to an armpit patchouli; Anais Anais had a tinge of rotting vase water; and even Love's Baby Soft went into dirty-musk territory at the drydown.

Pleasures absolutely scrubbed our sinuses into joyous rapture with its incisive, pure cleanliness from top to bottom. The first time I smelled it was on a coworker; she drifted past in her '90 brown pantsuit and we all went "WHOA!! What was *that*?" followed by "I must have that." It was holographic in its shimmeriness, making the wearer almost giddy.

Of course, 23 years later, it isn't groundbreaking at all. But I do still really love it.

PROS :
- very long-wearing formula (it even stands-up a slight scratching),
- fluid, slightly runny texture, easy to blend (more beautiful texture and finish than Colorstay),
- medium coverage in one layer,
- blends seamlessly (neither blotchy nor patchy)
- gorgeous "second skin" finish, with a very slight sheen, and no powdery appearance,
- respects the skin texture (no blurring effect... that never lasts anyway),
- strong adhesion to the skin, with only very minimal settling into fine lines or pores,
- rich in pigments shades, neither gray nor brownish (a little too bright whatsoever but that’s what brightens the complexion),
- fast drying but not to the point of instantly setting upon contact with the skin,
- truly self-setting, if a powder is used it’s mostly to tone down shine,
- no darkening while it sets and barely oxidizes during the wear time,
- perfectly transfer-proof (my powder brush does not collect foundation, its fibers remain clean and fluffy),
- precise numbering of the shades,
- available in 61 shades (in Australia),
- soluble in pure alcohol (which allows an easy cleaning of the sponge, or brush, which was used),
- alcohol-free and fragrance-free.

CONS :
- the now classical main drawback : NO PUMP !!!!! Seriously, Estée Lauder, drugstore brands add pumps on their less than 10 bucks foundations and there is no pump on yours which costs an arm to the toes (and requires to prostitute granny to get enough money to buy it) ??!!!
- has a clear tendency to peel off from the skin when applying a second layer (see comments),
- slight uncomfortable "resinous" sensation when the product is set, but it vanishes later when the foundation is mixed with the skin natural fluids,
- slightly tacky feeling (though less tacky than Colorstay),
- does not control shine that well (but, on me, nothing does),
- expensive, but it is undoubtedly worth the price.

COMMENTS :
Most foundations darken and/or change undertone when setting (which requires to wait for a swatch to fully set before checking if the shade is a good match)... this one does not. Small digression by the way : I have always found ridiculous all these online swatches that are "wet-not-set", it does not reflect the final result.

As it is self-setting, it is useless to rush to powder it (if it’s powdered too early it cakes). One exception : the under eyes area. Regardless of the product I use, foundation or concealer, the product always creases into fine lines, so as soon as I get a flawless application on this area I immediately set with a translucent powder to prevent the product from further creasing.

It is essential to apply it one section at a time because of its fast drying time (don’t dot it all over your face hoping to come back on these dots to blend them later, the last dotted area will be impossible to blend).

Like many other products in the Double Wear range, this one has a strong (and exasperating) tendency to peel off from the skin when trying to apply a second layer, or simply when joining two areas (when using a blending sponge). In fact it is a matter of pressure : if, like me, you tend to press the foundation like a madman (trying to push it far into the skin hoping that it will last longer) you're damn. Gentleness is the key : using your sponge blend the foundation with the delicacy of a dandelion pappus carried by a light breeze, and not with the heaviness of a rammer flattening the bitumen.

I like the wide range of 61 shades and their precise numbering :
- the first digit indicates the main level, from the lightest level 0 to the darkest level 8,
- the letter indicates the undertone, C for Cool (pink based), N for Neutral neither too pink nor too yellow (in theory), and W for Warm (yellow based),
- the last digit modulates the intensity within a main level (1W2 will be a little darker than 1W1).

I use two shades :
- 1N1 Ivory Nude best matches my skintone but, despite its yellow base, it’s still a touch too pink (I have a very strong yellow undertone),
- 1W1 Bone is more golden but slightly darker than 1N1 so it ends up a tad too dark/gold on me (unless I tan),

Let’s note that the making of the undertones was surely done in a state of pronounced drunkenness (or it is the numbering which was made randomly) when one compares 1N1 Ivory Nude which is on the yellow side and 1N0 Porcelain which is on the pink side (both are N).

At the end of the day, given its tenacity, I use a cleansing oil (or a two-phase micellar water) to remove it easily and completely without pulling/damaging my skin.

EDIT 07/27/2018 : Estée Lauder just launched new shades, including 1W0 Warm Porcelain which is ever so slightly lighter and less pink than 1N1, and much lighter than 1W1 (though not as yellow)... it's one of the closest matches I've ever worn ♥♥♥

Here are some comparative swatches on my arm which is around MAC NW10 but my face is more NC10 boosted with a tiny bit of NC15 (or anything with strong yellow undertones). Also is a comparative table of the shades available in various countries.

From top to bottom :

I tried a sample of this on my neck and the next morning my neck was covered in tiny pink bumps that weren’t too perceptible to the eye but had the texture of goose bumps. A horribly thick cream that I couldn’t imagine applying to my face and one I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, regardless of whether they have sensitive skin or not. It contains fragrance, doesn’t spread easily and has a subpar SPF level of protection. I’m disappointed.

My HG foundation. I’m about to finish my third bottle and will definitely be getting my fourth. I have very oily-skin with lots of scarring and redness. Many foundations have broke me out or gets eaten away by my oils. However, this doesn’t do that at all. It has a strong lasting power and a beautiful matte to satin finish (depends on the application). For a full coverage look, I like to use a dense brush. And for a more light, everyday look, I use my fingers. I’ve tried it with a damp sponge and it looks very nice too! Blends nicely with all different applications. If you’re looking to try a new foundation, this is worth it :)

The only downsides are the price (about 60$ CAD) and the packaging (it can get messy if you’re not careful).

I did not like this foundation. It felt like paint on my skin. It exentuated all my flaws such as dryness and didn't blend well. It dried so fast it was hard to apply and had a chemical smell. It was a huge disappointment as it has so many great reviews but did not work well on my skin. Maybe for someone with oily skin.

I’m yet to find any foundation that performs anywhere near as well as this.

I have oily skin that gets dehydrated and I can get dry patches if I dont keep it hydrated. I have a lot of blemishes in the form of scarring and redness, mostly around my jaw and chin.

While this is a full coverage foundation, I find it does not cling to dry patches and does not feel heavy on the skin.

This foundation lasts incredibly well, and only starts to break down on my oily T-Zone after 12+ hours of wear.

Will keep repurchasing this forever probably.
