Pressed Powders -MAC - Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder (Pressed)

It's an okay product... there's nothing unique about it. It doesn't emphasize dry patches, packaging is great, but I prefer my rice powder which is cheaper and more effective. If you're oily, the mattifying properties may not be effective enough- it's not enough for my combo skin. Of course I'll use it up (already hit pan) but I won't repurchase.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Conceal and Correct Palette

I can't believe I didn't review this product yet! Because it's a staple in my collection. I'm NC10, with yellow/olive undertones. I own the "Light" version, and hit pan on NC10, NC15 & yellow- but use all shades, except the peach one (peach correctors don't work well for me, since I don't have any blue or purple discolorations- rather reddish brown, including eye area).
What I like:
- I can mix shades to create the perfect match,
- high coverage,
- great at covering blemishes- I usually use eyeliner brush (my fave is the one from Too Faced teddy bear brush set) and do pinpoint concealing a la Lisa Eldridge,
Now I don't really recommend applying it under your eyes... since I got Tarte Shape Tape I noticed the difference in overall finish of cream vs liquid concealer- ST looks less "powdery"/dry.
A few times I used NW20 to cream contour my nose, and it worked pretty well.
What I don't like:
- it wears off throughout the day, even when I set it with powder.

But overall, it's a great product whether you're a MUA or not!

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Foundation

on 9/18/2017 6:08:00 PM

This is honestly whatever. I bought this two years ago when MAC was still "ooh ahh" to me and I thought it was going to be the magic foundation to cover my horribly breaking out at the time skin. First off, the girls at the counter are rude af. I wanted to actually buy product and I was ignored and these little girls playing in testers were catered to. The girl that finally helped me was nice but she tried to give me a shade that was too light at first because she was testing on my hand, but I tan and my hands don't. She gave me a shade I was more comfortable with NW25. This is really liquidy, it's alright but nothing amazing imo. It can be built up. Covers alright. Doesn't hold back any oils. Today I finally used up the last little bit and realaized the W must stand for warm and I wouldn't say I'm a warm undertone, more neutral to cool. So I think nC25 would have been a better fit for me. Because today I realaized at the end of the day that I was looking kind of orangey. So that annoyed me. Honestly this is way overpriced at $35. Mac is overhyped as a brand I think. And I don't like that they test on animals. I've tried drugstore foundations similar or even better than this one. I feel like there's SO much out there now I'd be better off trying than using this. Also, I never really noticed it before because I didn't pay attention, so that's not saying it DIDNT happen, but I swear this shit broke me out today. There's a pimple I swear wasn't there today under my chin and my jawline feels bumpier than before. I'm pissed. I remember when I first bought it an acquaintance was like oh take it back it broke me out and I was like eh whatever not everyone has the same skin but I'm 99% this caused my skin to freak out today. Don't recommend. Wouldn't buy again. Or probably any Mac foundation tbh. I'm over Mac.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre Capricious

on 9/18/2017 1:56:00 PM

Capricious is a great fall/winter shade for me (fair neutral skin, honey blonde hair, blue eyes and pale lips). It's sheer enough to not be a whole 'look' on its own and goes well with many eye/cheek combinations. It's very 'office friendly'; a tasteful understated shade that makes you look polished and put together. You can use a liner with it to deepen it up or apply mirror-free if necessary throughout the day for a lustrous plum-berry look. The formula makes my lips look plumper than they are (a major plus). I have over 100 lipsticks so I pretty much never re-buy one when I run out but I actually did replenish this with B2M this weekend because I love it so much.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

on 9/15/2017 8:08:00 PM

I love this foundation. It's a perfect match on my skin. No breakouts, no oxidizing. I deliver out of a hot truck all day, and my skin feels soft and silky at the end of the day. I know this one is a hit or miss for people, definitely a hit for me. I'll be 57 next month, and have fairly normal (albeit slightly wrinkly) skin.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Face and Body Foundation

on 9/15/2017 6:13:00 PM

Before I review it, some info about my skin: I am 21, fair with cool undertones, and my skin is relatively smooth and not very oily (I was just on Accutane, went off it about a month ago). I do have some light marks/scars from acne, and redness on my nose and cheeks. So far, I'm a fan of this foundation! It's very light, and it doesn't look like you're wearing a mask on your face. It lets my freckles show through a bit which I like. It's just dewy enough to bring some life to my recently bone-dry post-Accutane skin (it's gotten a little less dry though since going off of it). That being said, I would not recommend this to anyone with oily skin, or dark marks they are trying to cover up, since it is definitely not full coverage, nor mattifying at all.

- Since it's water-based, it's hydrating without feeling greasy
- Very natural looking
- Nice consistency
- Doesn't emphasize dry spots

- Wouldn't cover dark spots or blemishes
- Not buildable--adding more just causes the product to be pushed around without covering a whole lot
- Would emphasize oily skin

Lipstick -MAC - Beachbound

This washes me out so bad. I am NC 15 with blond hair and green eyes. I like the texture but this color is just bad on me. Normally nudes with brown underotnes just really wash me out. It is just frosty but I can definitely see the difference in my lips.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Matte - Quarry

on 9/14/2017 6:10:00 PM

I bought this shade hoping to use it as a single colour all over the eyelid, but it didnt work out. The plum/taupe shade is attractive but on fair skins it can look like a bruise. I agree with another reviewer that the pigment isn't even and the shadow fades patchily. However, I have recently found that it blends well with MAC satin Grain, and I plan to apply them together for a muted natural look. I think that this shade might be better if it had a satin finish.

Eyeliner -MAC - Rollerwheel Liquid Liner

#awesome !! I have bought this 4X....1 in Matte black & 3 in Shiny black. I got the Matte black first I loved it so I decided I should add Shiny black to my collex. Then I lost the Shiny black so I reordered 2 more (1 as a spare) mainly Shiny black because they were sold out of Matte black & to me it doesn't really matter as long as it's "really black" && both are "true" black not fading to green nor ending being blueish. I, too, saw the Tati video too anyone who has been "doing this for a 'minute'" who can't master this isn't very skillful no offense. My skills are below average & im able to get a wing easily w this. It took a little experience/experimentation but I use it daily w no issues except that it's not truly waterproof. I agree w the first review if you need waterproof get MAC Liquidlast that is the most waterproof liquid liner I've ever tried. So much more convenient than a pot w a brush too ITA! Don't fear this--it's quite easily mastered w practice just like all liquid eyeliners. It's amazing my #1 ride-or-die eyeliner (Liquidlast 2nd!!!) 10/10!! #WINNING #DOWNTOWNTRIPLECROWN !! #loveit <3

Lipstick -MAC - Velvet Teddy

on 9/13/2017 11:17:00 PM

I was afraid this would either be too brown or too warm on me, but luckily it is neither! It has just enough rosiness to meld to my neutral NW20ish complexion and become a lovely mlbb. As for the formula, I find MAC matte lipsticks (NOT Retro Mattes!) pretty comfortable and they strike a nice balance between lasting power and finish. They aren't transfer-proof like the liquid lipsticks everyone has become accustomed to, but I get solid wear time between meals, then I'm ready for a touch-up anyway. The color will likely be too brown on people who need a brighter tone to their lipstick. I would recommend Mehr if this is too brown for you. It's definitely not as brown as Whirl, though, which is darker, cooler, and definitely more brown than VT. That's the great thing about MAC, there's probably something for everyone!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Soft Ochre

on 9/13/2017 7:07:00 PM

I gave it 4 stars because it works as what it is a paint pot. I originally bought this because i ran out of eyeshadow primer and wanted to use my store discount but we do not sell the brand i usually buy. I had never tried the paint pots and my co-worker told me it could be used as a primer and that an eyeshadow primer would not work or be needed underneath. I have oily skin and this product does not work as an eyeshadow primer on oily skin. It went on nice its matte and you do have to work with it pretty quickly because it dries fast! The eyeshadow pigments look great over this product but after 7hrs of wearing it my eyeshadow was creasing big time i tried everything setting it with powder tried other shadows still creased! Creasing does not happen ever with my original primer I go to work, party, home and there's been times I have not removed my makeup i wake up and my shadow still looks pretty good no oilyness or creasing. I really loved how shadows look over it so I purchased my go to primer put it under the paint pot and it lasted all day/night!!! By the way Too Faced shadow insurance primer is the very best!!

Liquid -MAC - Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation

Wow this foundation has been a game changer for me. Too bad, MAC is one of those brands that doesn't get a lot of love from the beauty community.

First of all, I have very textured skin with different types of scars (pitted, box and rolling) and I find that this foundation somewhat diffuses my imperfections. I have a combo-dry skin and on Retin-A.

Finish: This foundation has a natural matte finish that looks very radiant on my skin.

Shade: I am in between NC 20 - NC 25 but I heard from a lot of people that this foundation runs a bit light. So I got the shade NC 30 and it was a perfect match!

Longevity: I can get a solid 12 hours on this foundation.

Packaging: Convenient and travel friendly!!!!

Price: A bit pricey considering you get less product from your typical 1 oz foundation.

Overall, I am in love with this foundation. You also don't need a lot of product which makes it so amazing!

A must have!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly

on 9/12/2017 8:21:00 PM

I really don't like to hate on a brand or product, but this product was awful on me! I've been trying to find an eyeshadow primer that would work for my lids but everything creased on me. I went into the mac store having complete confidence in this product, but it is not long wearing on me AT ALL. Although initially putting it on is absolutely beautiful! It's a great color, super creamy and covers everything on my lids however, It smudges and creases on me only after an hour! I tried setting it, not setting it, with another primer and alone. I've tried everything to try to make it work and it just makes my eye shadow look worse than if I were to wear no primer!
