Palettes -NYX -Wicked Dreams

Ideal palette for all skin tones. Some shimmer some matte. definitely can create a wicked Smokey eye look. Also a fabulous neutral look. For a night out shimmer me up. I don't use the blue because blue just looks horrid on me. I would recommend using a urban decay applicator. Since I love there eyeshadow too . I just borrowed it from there palette. I apply my shadow gently and layer lightly. I generally blend two or three colors that are similar in tones. To me eyeshadow can make you look older if not applied correctly.

Blush -NYX -Powder Blush - Chocolate Mousse

This was my favourite bronzer/blusher during winter. I am NC20 with yellow olive undertone. If you have any suggestions for a dupe, please write it down as I haven't found anything like NYX Chocolate Mousse PB16 in years.
I wish NYX would bring it back as this blush/bronzer was fabulous in colour and formulation. Buttery and not orange or muddy at all! Just a perfect subtle chocolate brown that warms up the fair/light skin!

Other -NYX -Pro foundation mixer

foto

I have this in both the white and the opalescent shades. I use the white every day, and while my ghostly pale self was previously very devoted to The Body Shop's lightening drops, I think the white from NYX is my HG now. I don't love the squeezy tube packaging in comparison to the dropper, but now that I have gotten used to the ratio of this mixer to the foundations I am using it doesn't bother me. You get a ton of product in each tube, and for me it is much easier to access than TBS's version. It doesn't make foundation look chalky at all, which is a bonus. The opalescent version is nice too, especially for foundations that are too matte or just too heavy, though I don't reach for it nearly as often as I do the white. They don't have any kind of scent and they don't really alter the performance of the foundation in question. If you're very pale then white will be your friend; if you have dry skin or want a dewier look, then go for the opalescent. I haven't used the other mixers, but if they're anything like these two then they will perform just as advertised and will be a crucial component in your makeup routine.

Lipstick -NYX -Matte Lipstick- Eurotrash

foto

Euro Trash is a pretty lipstick with a kinda silly name, but I love it nonetheless. It is pretty neutral, but more on the bold side as far as neutrals go. The formula is fairly long-wearing, but unlike many mattes out there, it isn't super drying. The packaging is simple, and you have to make sure the cap clicks in to place so the bullet doesn't smoosh up into the top of the tube, but that isn't really something that bothers me a lot at this price point. I'd describe the color as a medium warm mauve-y pink, and it is lovely against my fair skin; however, I can see it working on a range of skin tones that would make it pull more nude.

Concealers -NYX -Gotcha Covered Concealer

foto

I hated this when I first got it because I thought it made my skin look wrinkly. However, I have since watched a few YouTube videos on how to use concealer and set it properly. The trick with this is to warm it up in your fingers first, then tap on a very light coat. ASAP after that, dust some powder on to set. If you wait to long to set, it creases. The color is perfect, and the coverage is full. It hides whatever you want, and lasts.

Lip Gloss -NYX -Butter Gloss in Eclair

Eclair is a barbie pink butter gloss. It glides on the lips, it stays on fairly long. It's creamy and smooth on the lips. Nice barbie pink! Love it!

Eye Shadow -NYX -Lid Lingerie

Love love LOVE this. First of all, great packaging- I kind of hate having to carry around my other eye shadows, as they often come in a heavy little glass jar, but I love this packaging! Looks like a liquid lipstick with a doe foot and is easy to apply on the lid. The formula is amazing, very creamy, glides like a dream, and so easy to smear all over the eyelid. The color I have is New Romance. It's my favorite eye shadow right now. I have a thing for using a single shadow as opposed to the current trend of very precise shadow colors applied and blended out here and there. It brings great luminosity and brightness to my eyes whilst delivering a subtle, light pink shade. Doesn't crease too noticeably and even so, that's why I prefer creams to powders (I can just blend it real quick with my fingertip). Doesn't crease at all when I use an eyeshadow primer, which I guess is what most people do. Couldn't hope for more, and yet it's so reasonably priced! I highly recommend it and might pick up some new colors.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX -Makeup Setting Spray - Matte Finish

This is one of the very rare products I used only about 10 times before I tossed it - I didn't manage to make it work for me whatsoever. I like may of the NYX products, but not this one. I bought this and a couple of other setting sprays, to pick one that would be suitable for my wedding. I live quite far up north, where it is relatively cold, humid and windy.

I don't remember the scent of this, but it did have some kind of scent to it, but no perfume. It said on the packaging to shake it well (which is very common for setting sprays), which I did, probably for a minute. Then I sprayed a couple of sprays into the air before testing this out on my makeup. I prefer setting sprays to come out in very fine mists, which this did not. I could see a lot of small drops on my face, which then transformed into small whitish dots. Not good.

Then was the longevity- and finish test. This did NOT make my makeup last longer - it made it go patchy faster. The finish wasn't matte either - I got oily quite fast (I have normal skin), and it felt tight - I could actually feel the setting spray on me face. This is often something that happens when a product dehydrates my skin. I tried to apply some powder in my t-zone, but it didn't manage to keep the shine away for long.

I tried this with several foundations: both liquid and powder, and both over and under makeup - I wasn't able to make it work in any of the ways I tried, plus, it gave me small bumps on my face. I'm not sure what my sensitive skin dislikes about this spray, but it was not for me. I much prefer the Urban Decay All Nighter, which keeps me matte and makes my makeup last longer, as promised. Maybe the NYX one would work better for someone who has skin that doesn't get dehydrated easily

Blush -NYX -HD Blush - Taupe

foto

I really like the shade of this. I use it for contouring and it doesn’t look ashy on my NC15-20 skin. I have to say that the texture is very powdery and it lasts around 5 hours on my skin.

Eyeliner -NYX -matte liquid eyeliner

foto

Hands down the easiest liquid liner I've worked with. Doesn't come off when rubbed. You need eyemakeup remover to remove this.
Nice matte finish, may need to go over it once.

Lip Liners -NYX -Professional Makeup Slim Lip Pencil - Mauve (831)

on 11/1/2017 3:49:00 PM

foto

One of my favorite lip liners. Ive heard that this is a dupe for MAC Whirl and UD Liar lip liners. This color pairs well with a lot of different neutral shade lipsticks and also looks great on its own with balm on top for a MLBB look. My only issue with it is that it is a bit dry and tugs a bit as most NYX Slim liners tend to do. Otherwise a great product.

Lipstick -NYX -Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks

I have these in Sandstorm and Tea and Cookies. The colors are nice but other than 2-3 others, the colors are just way too weird for me. Several of my friends also purchased some in lots of other colors, I tried some of theirs in the darker shades. Not one of my friends like them much either. I am kind of surprised that there are lots of good reviews because I don't like anything about these. They really dry my lips out, they take forever to dry, they flake off, it comes off when you eat or drink and some of them are splotchy and hard to apply. When it comes off while eating of drinking, it looks terrible until I reapply, splotchy, uneven. I'm almost down to the last little bit in both of mine and I'll be glad when they are gone. Will definitely not repurchase even though I really do love the color of Sandstorm a lot. If a lip product dries my lips out, I very rarely repurchase it. That is a big NO for me and this really dried them out. If I put balm on first, the color was all gone within about 2 hours. .There are so many better choices, this is a huge thumbs down for me. I much prefer the NXY Soft Matte and it has a lot more wearable colors too.

Lipstick -NYX -Butter Lipstick in Licorice

The color is beautiful, and the application is smooth but something about this formula dries out my lips horribly. My lips could be smooth and moisturized in the morning, I put this on, and in less than a few hours my lips are flaking and peeling quite visibly.

Makeup Brushes -NYX -Pro Multi-Purpose Buffing Brush

foto

This is my first NYX brush, and I'm impressed. It's soft and dense, but the bristles still have a bit of give to it. Supposedly you can use it for liquid, creams, and powders, but I've only used it for buffing on liquid fdn, and it's fantastic! When I use a flat foundation brush, I always have to go back over it with a BB to blend out the brushstrokes left behind, but with this brush it buffs my fdn of flawlessly in seconds. I dab fdn over my face with fingers, then bounce it in a stippling motion, then gently buff in small circles. It's so effortless and takes me less than a minute (no f*cking joke) to ace my base. I'm talking like airbrushed perfection. It compares to higher end buffing fdn brushes. I will repurchase this when I need to replace it and highly recommend this brush.
