I came out in pimples and had an oily film sitting on my face all day and night after applying. I didn’t notice any heat or reddening. It sounded amazing and was worth trying out for the price. Oils clog my pores and break me out and this feels like a similar reaction although it’s supposed to be oil free.

My skin loves niacinamide. It gives me a glow and definitely helps my hormonal zits to go away quickly each month without leaving any redness behind. I was afraid I might find the 10% concentration to be too drying, but it's been fine. I'm not sure why the zinc is in here given that it has no proven skin benefits and seems to do nothing but precipitate into a white cast and interfere with makeup application, but whatever, it's $6, I'll deal. As long as TO makes this stuff (which may not be that long given the CEO's mental health situation :/) I'll buy it.

Nice resoults on skin overall aspect and texture, but didn’t
exatcly enjoyed the slightly tacky texture, plus skin got a little irritated on the undereyes and other sensitive areas of my face. Extra points for not breaking me out. Might be buying this product again sometime but will probably research and try a few other brands and formulations first.

Ah-mazing for oily skin. My best friend bought this for me. I had not even thought or heard anything about this. Boy am I glad she opened my eyes, this makes you look poreless and keeps foundation anchored to your face. I will certainly repurchase. This is a swell product that is cheap and works well. I love the packaging too.

As the weather warms and my skin grows more oily, I've switched to this as a more lightweight substitute for my usual hyaluronic acid serum (Hylamide Low-Molecular HA Booster). Marine Hyaluronics is a clear liquid with a very watery consistency, more similar to a hydrating toner than a serum. It doesn't actually contain hyaluronic acid, but is supposed to work in the same way (attract and hold water to skin). It contains algae extract, amino acids, and several marine-based ingredients sourced from red algae and bacteria. These mostly act as water-binding agents that hydrate and protect skin. Some apparently have anti-aging properties as well, working as antioxidants and to stimulate collagen production and smooth wrinkles. I use 6 drops at night before applying moisturizer. It absorbs much more quickly than my regular hyaluronic acid serum and leaves my skin soft, smooth and well hydrated without any greasiness or heaviness. SCENT: Many will find it has a rather unpleasant odor. Numerous users have likened it to fish, vomit and stinky feet, among other things, while others don't notice any scent at all. To me, it smells mostly like funky cheese mixed with a bit of old crayons. However, it's not that strong IMO, and doesn't last longer than 1-2 min, max (the more products you layer on, the longer the smell seems to linger). I just breathe through my mouth instead of my nose in the short time it takes to apply. Many other brands would either add (potentially skin-irritating) fragrances to mask the odor or simply use less of the beneficial ingredients, so I'm happy with the product as it is. Overall, I will be buying this again. The smell may take some getting used to, but the results are worth it! I hope Deciem will eventually offer this in a larger size.(Last updated June 4/18)

Honestly, from most of the reviews that i’ve seen or read, i didn’t expect anything at all. I literally bought it coz it was cheap and i was bored lol. Now this foundation is literally all i use on a daily basis. Pros :-super duper light weight-low medium coverage (right up my alley)-goes on seamlessly with a brush-doesnt accentuate any dryness or pores -not cakey whatsoever-do i need to mention the price again? -on my skin the finish is not matte not dewy, it’s right at that middle sweet spot, “natural”Cons :Honestly i can’t think of anything. For CAD 6.70 i have no complaints whatsoever.10/10 would recommend.Oh just in case this could be any help, the shade i got, 2.0YG is almost spot on like MUFE ultra HD Y245.

There is no denying that the texture of this serum is horrendous. It is thick, greasy and leaves an oil slick on your face. It also does not play nice with other serums and creams. As inelegant as it is, it works like a charm. My skin was noticeably brighter after a week of consistent use. It helps fade both newer blemishes and older discolouration. I only use it at night because of its awful texture. Others experienced severe stinging but I had no issues. I will definitely repurchase.

I observe a tiny drop of this to cover my whole face and it helps keep me matte during the day. It helps soothe active zits but I do not agree with it does whatever to prevent them. That is a great serum. I rotate this with their salicylic acid at night. Will preserve shopping for.

I'm a little torn on this product. I found that it helped moisturize my skin without being too heavy and that it did help a bit with my oiliness. I think it helped fade new blemishes faster but I don't feel that it did anything for existing hyperpigmentation, which was the main reason I purchased the product. It also had not discernable effect on my pores. I did feel my skin had more clarity but I don't quite no if it is a cumulative effect of my total skin care regimen or if this serum had something to do with it. I may repurchase later and try it again.

I have used prescription retinoids in the past and I found that they worked fine on the oilier parts of my skin by wreaked havoc on any drier areas. I don't have any wrinkles or fine lines yet so I decided to take a step back and start with retinol. I always had a hard time securing a retinol product I liked because they were so expensive. I could not fathom paying more money for a product that was weaker than prescription strength Retin A. I was really glad when The Ordinary introduced their retinol products. The Advanced Retinoid 2% Serum works very well. I did not experience any irritation. The formula went on nicely and absorbs quickly. After weeks I could definitely see that my skin was clearer and more even. By the time I finished the bottle I was hooked. I wish the formula included some other antioxidants or ceramides but it is excellent value and it works.

I bought this product along with 2 serums, my first products from this brand. I wanted to love it but I don't. It is not moisturizing enough for my skin and it actually leaves it dry not long after and during the day I struggled with discomfort. On application it feels like a sunscreen that leaves you with a white cast as it's very thick. Lastly the package is full of air, so while this is cheap only about two thirds of it is actual product ( the smaller size at least which was the one I bought). I hate it but considering the amount of good reviews it seems to be a good product for other people, just not for me. I now use the Cerave one which I love.

I really like this stuff! For some reason products containing squalane always seem to break me out so I was naturally pretty wary of trying this, but when used on its own pressed into damp skin or mixed with some hyaluronic serum it sort of balances my skin and keeps it really soft. I can only use this 2-3 times a week before it starts to seriously clog my pores but that's enough for my combo skin anyway.

I had given up on The Ordinary. Most of the products I had tried ranged from ok but not great to absolutely awful, and then CEO went nuts on Instagram. Then I began using a moisturizer with a small amount of niacinamide and saw good results, so I began to wonder if I would see even better results with a higher concentration. I add three or four drops of this to my morning moisturizer (cerave baby moisturizer, also highly recommend). I have noticed my pores are smaller, my face stays matte throughout the day longer, and red spots from pimples take far less time to fade than before. I really like this stuff and will reorder when I run out.

I apply a tiny drop of this to cover my entire face and it helps keep me matte throughout the day. It helps soothe active pimples but I don't believe it does anything to prevent them. This is a great serum. I rotate this with their salicylic acid at night. Will keep buying. Update: Lately I've been using this in combination with The Ordinary's glycolic acid toner at night and it actually helps soothe and reduce my monthly acne flare ups. I highly recommend this gem :)

This works beautifully with their +HA moisturiser for really hydrating the skin. I mix three drops of it with the moisturiser every morning and night. A note about squalane: it is a penetration enhancer so while by itself it may not break you out, if you combine with other products, products which didn't used to break you out might. So yes, squalane (regardless of where you buy it from) is potentially comedogenic when combined with other products! I am currently on the lookout for products which are just as hydrating and with less risk.
