I've been experimenting with foundations since I was a girl. From the drug store to the department store, it has always been a guessing game with color matching and at least one or more compromises in terms of color, formula, and finish. Which is why I'm so very grateful to Sephora for having a color match system to help the process and to Nars for introducing the Vallauris color for Medium skin with pink undertones. As a now middle-aged beauty junkie, I'm very picky with the formulas of foundations but it's also usually where you make your first compromise. Having used full bottles of both Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and Chanel Luminous Velvet Mattte in the last three years and loved them both for different reasons, I can tell you that this is more similar to GA LS in consistency and finish however it provides more coverage than GA LS. The wearability and feel of the foundation, however is more similar too Chanel LVM. All these foundations spread nicely with fingers and my Real Technique flat top stipple brush but for the NARS version, the fingers or a rubber makeup triangle proved to be the easiest way to go to get the Nars' promised finish, which is gorgeously natural almost like finish you get from the new Les Beiges from Chanel but way less shiny and not at all greasy like the Les Beiges. For the first time in my life, I wasn't compelled to reach for the setting powder after applying this foundation. I just loved how it looked after I stopped blending it and I quickly wiped off all my makeup from the other side of my face in Sephora JCP and put the Sheer Glow on everywhere. I later left the store with my new Holy Grail foundation, but I wasn't told that the pumps don't come with their foundation bottles and was a bit disappointed at home thinking about how messy this bottle was going to get without a pump. Stores should have pumps in stock though.

I had heard nothing but raves about this range so I blind bought two shades; Anita (pinky MLBB) and Brigitte (medium brightening peachy pink)The colors are great, both very flattering everyday shades for my fair warm toned complexion. The packaging is substantially hefty and I like the magnetic closure but there are others I find more aesthetically pleasing like Chanel, YSL or the most recent Estee Lauder. Since we're talking about an expensive item these details matter. They apply easily with good color payoff and last very well without drying my lips. No detectable scent or taste and albeit being long lasting they can been removed easily without staining the lips. The thing is they transfer and don't melt on the lips, look more like sitting there accentuating any texture issues. There are other formulations I like better like the MAC Amplified which has all the above advantages while looking smoother, feeling lighter and costing less.Still I have used it obsessively because of the flattering color, staying powder and non-drying nature. Not tempted to try bolder colors as transferring would be a serious issue but would repurchase the two I have.

This foundation is the REAL MVP!!! I've honestly lost count of how many times I've repurchased this product over the last 5 years. Every time I decide to try another foundation 'just to see' (and I've tried numerous) I always come back to sheer glow. My favourite things about this foundation are the consistency and build-ability. It's quite runny and feels very light on the skin, and the coverage on one application is light. But, layer this on 2-3 times and you'll actually get a very substantial medium (even verging on full) coverage, without looking cakey or dull. It's honestly a godsend for those with skin on the drier end of the scale who need varying levels of coverage (good skin times/bad skin times). I probably wouldn't recommend this for oily skin types or those with very dark scarring however. TLDR; I will purchase this foundation forever and ever and ever amen.

I’m 63 w/combo skin with some breakouts and rosacea. I think I have a PhD in foundations. At this age, I want light layers that I can build if necessary and this works for me - but ONLY if you apply it the using the “NARS technique:” warm in hand, dab and massage. Start in the middle and work out.Beauty Blenders, brushes, even the Clarisonic foundation brush make it look like paint primer. But the warmth of your hand makes it break down.(Insert eye roll here.) I cocktail fair 1 & 2 and I actually get something that doesn’t look like foundation - just better skin. I use a q-tip to mix in my hand. And it takes me 5-ish minutes to get it on.So if you’re in a hurry, this isn’t for you. But for my older skin with fine lines, it looks as good as foundation is going to look.P.S. I use a boatload of sunscreen underneath and a spray of Smashbox primer then a spray of MAC Fix plus after.

Deep Throat is an amazing blush, one which I use constantly and will always have in my collection. The shade is a gorgeous warm pink, with a hint of peach and a pretty golden sheen which adds a natural glow and dimension to the face. This blush is very pigmented so you only need a light hand. This means that the blush will last you a long time, a blessing as these blushes are quite expensive. This blush adds a healthy flush to the face, and is incredibly flattering. It makes me look alive, healthy and put together. It applies smoothly and easily, the formula is buttery and smooth. I adore this blush! I highly recommend it.

I have used this blush for many years. It’s not my everyday blush, though. It’s good for spring and summer. It is a peachy pink color thats sometimes a little too warm for me., but this blush is brightening. A little goes a long way. There is slight glow with good color pay off. It’s a high end blush that’s a little pricy, but it lasts a long time. I’d call it a classic blush that would be flattering to a lot of skin tones

This isn't good for dry not oily. Only if ur skin is perfect combo.
Lasted 4 hours on me. First hour was stunning.
Sick of brands saying "long last" this, Fenty, LM flawless, none last longer than 4-5 hours. Clinique beyond perfecting i can go to work in it THEN go out and it slays. That's my HG

It smells like gardenia, vanilla, sea salt and coconuts to me. And it moisturizes like a dream. The bottle is so pretty too. I just wish the opening had a pump. I use this after the shower and it smells like the beach and summer. I use this as my perfume !It gets messy so thats why i gave this 4 lippies. I have travel size so im not sure if the large has a better opening.

Way better than the mac one. The mac one is super cheaply made compared to this. This cuts like butter and also has a little stick to help clean itself. The mac one i had trouble cleaning and then putting it back together itd break apart on me after a couple of months. This is so cute to just have on the vanity also.

I have this, madly and exhibit a and sex appeal. I wanted very different colors and tones in my collection. This looks better on me than orgasm. My bf had told me i looked sunburnt when i had this on. I dont use this much, I reach for sex appeal a lot more because i am nc20 and it just looks more natural even with a heavy hand. This one is not so easy to apply imo. For the natural flushed look i rather go with exhibit a. I didnt like deep thoart or madly, two of the most popular colors werent my cup of tea i guess. Even though i dont reach for it, i do like having this in my collection. I can pop this on top of sex appeal if i feel i need a little more oomph or if i want more shimmery look in the cheeks.

Like others have said you only need the tiniest bit to get a snow white flushed look. I use to love natural beauty by tarte amazonian but ive always felt that one is too pink/fuscia on my nc20 nars ceylan skintone. I much prefer this one which is a true tomato red. Its scary to see and swatch but with a stippling or fan brush it will give you the natural flushed look specially for winter. a trick is to just dab the blush then dab the cheeks gently and swirl. if i ever get too overboard i use sex appeal on top to blend it out/tone it down

I have this in lanikai and i pair it with audacious lippie in bette or my red lippies for a burgandy red lip gradient. It works with both darker reds and classic reds. Its creamy and ive replaced my mac "dark out" with this. This and precision lip liner in vence are my favorite out of the collection. I feel that i only need a nude and a deep red for my everyday or a nightout looks. I keep it simple which is also a plus when it comes to nars because itll burn a hole in my wallet lol
