I adore this color, pretty close to my natural lips, which makes it my ideal nude. I have light brown/amber eyes and medium skin tone. It feels light on the lips, the color lasts a long time for a non liquid lipstick, def a rebuy for me

I love this lipstick, matte finish, comfortable to wear, and although it is not a liquid long wear lipstick, it stays a very long time. Packaging is so cute and simple, and really great value, it is cheaper than other high end lipsticks I’ve seen.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Untitled Paint

This stuff is perfection if you're a cool toned light skinned girl (or boy). For the aforementioned, it is the perfect shadow base shade... It makes eyeshadow look so much better against it's neutral but slightly cool-toned sort of putty shade. Or, it makes for a nice, nude, clean look when worn alone. For me, it rids my lids of redness and patchiness, makes them look even-toned and it almost completely covers over my awful tattooed eyeliner that I regret getting in my twenties. So when I want a clean, non-tattooed-liner look, I grab this stuff, put a little Too Faced Shadow Primer which is colorless and thin, then lay this over it, and I have a polished looking lid! I just know they'll discontinue it, too. Of course. Yeah I think they did. WHYYYY! *Disclaimer- if you have an extra you'd like to sell to me, I'd be happy to buy it from you! Message me!*

Lipstick -MAC - Retro Matte - Ruby Woo

I... really don't get the hype here. I truly tried to make it work. The formula is treacherous, pigmentation is okay at best, and the color has those drugstore magenta undertones. On me (NC40 muted cool yellow olive), it's not very bright and it's super pinky. I don't really have dry lips, but it just crumbles off and fades after a few hours. There are much better vintage reds out there imo. I respect Ruby Woo for being the OG, but it just falls flat for me. I'm super picky with my reds, though. For a BRIGHT matte midtone red, I prefer Stila Beso/Sephora Always Red (they're the same thing, trust me lol), though my favorite old Hollywood red is Bite Gazpacho (has an amazing blue patent finish and is ultra pigmented).

Sexy orange red. So classic, retro, and an iconic MAC shade. It's a best seller for a good reason-it's a bright, orange-red almost bright coral shade that perks up your complexion and gives you a burst of color. This is a great going out shade-and the finish lasts through dinner, drinks, and kissing. I apply it straight from the tube, but have also used a red lipliner to deeper the red tones of this orange-red lipstick. I prefer it to go redder than more orange (so I avoid orange lip liners or coral lip liners with this shade). It's so sexy, in your face and daring. But on my NC30-NC35 skin-it warms up the complexion, brightens my look, and is highly flattering on m skin. This is not a blue-red, not a pink-red, and does not lean fuchsia like some reds I've tried. I absolutely love this color. I read Rihanna wears this color, as well Ruby Woo and Riri Woo (of course!) regularly. So I think this color can work on beautiful, deeper complexions than mine. Saturated, rich, beautiful.

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - MAC Select Cover-Up - Color Corrector Green

on 10/1/2017 10:54:00 AM

Oh, the high hopes I had for this when I bought it way back in the distant past. I'm pretty sure this has been discontinued for quite a few years now, but I came across a tube the other day as I was clearing out a drawer of products I'd put aside. I used to have a lot of pinkness and some broken capillaries (thankfully, laser every 2 years or so seems to make them disappear, though they do come back). I was hoping this product would hide the broken capillaries and it doesn't really do a very good job of that unless you layer it on thick and then apply foundation. For the redness in my cheeks, it worked much better but I still had to apply a foundation on top or else I'd look really odd - a sickly pale grey shade that is not at all flattering. I was really hoping to find something that would hide my capillaries and tone down the red in my skin all on its own, without requiring even more stuff on top since foundation on its own sort of took care of the issues but I was looking for an alternative to a full face of foundation. This explain why this product ended up in the "discards" drawer! I finally did find what I'd been looking for in IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness, which is an amazing product if your skin is the right tone for it (it comes in only 1 shade, unfortunately).

I never really paid attention to MAC eyeshadows until they reduced their eyeshadow pans to $6 usd each, I decided to try out a few of their neutrals. Surpsrisingly , I've been really enjoying the few I've tried and reach for them often considering I own a ton of eyeshadows. I have a warm golden NC42 skin tone and the ones I use the most are:

Woodwinked- a light gold-brown that is so versatile and wearable. This works well on its own as a wash of color
Amber Lights - an orangey copper that's perfect for warm looks, suits me so well
Soft Brown - a great transition shade when I want less of a warm eyeshadow look
Swiss Chocolate - This one is perfect for creating depth in the crease/outer v, without going too dark
Bronze - A bronze with a neutral tone, it doesn' t lean red like alot of these shades tend to. Another one that works well alone for a wash of color.

Others I bought were Texture, Antiqued, Saddle and Ricepaper . These are good but I don't use them often because I have a lot of dupes for these across other brands.

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation

Normally I don’t shop at MAC and in fact I have purchased very few MAC products throughout my life mainly because I really dislike the sales people who for the most part I find to be pushy and rude. However all that aside, I started researching Face & Body which seemed to have a lot of qualities I desire in a foundation. So, I ventured into the store, and had a very pleasant SA offer to make me a number of samples in different shades - one to match my current skin tone, and two alternate shades to test out when my tan fades.

F&B is a very liquid (thin as water) consistency. Best method of application is to use your fingers, really working the foundation into the skin until the consistency changes from watery to tacky, kind of like it’s pulling on your skin. Add layers to get your preferred coverage. I’m happy with anything sheer to medium and love the dewy glow this gives my skin. It evens out the tone just enough to let my natural self show through. The most important aspects to me in a foundation are finish, being transfer-proof and shade. This scores high on all three of these. There are a number of shades to choose from and the one I am currently using (C4) is perfect for my summer shade. N3 is a good match for the colder months for me.

The formula contains silicones which is not an issue for my skin but something to be aware of if you can’t tolerate cones. I can wear this all day and it is extremely comfortable on my dry skin, never fading or requiring a touch up. It is easily removed with a cleansing balm.

I’d like to give this a 4.5 lippies out of 5 but since it’s whole numbers only I’m rounding up because I can’t find anything wrong with this foundation. It meets all of my needs and desires in a base product. The packaging could be a little nicer but for the texture, I think this soft squeezy dropper style bottle is probably best. This is where I would deduct 1/2 a lippie if I could. By far, this has been my best experience with MAC as a brand and a product. Fingers crossed they won’t disappoint in future as they have in past.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

This is my holy grail foundation. It's a solid medium to full coverage foundation. If you apply one pump, it stays medium and looks very natural. Two pumps gets you full coverage and looks amazing. My skin is very textured with pit scarring and this is one of the few foundations that makes my skin look its best. Another big reason why this is a HG for me are the compliments! I get so many compliments when I wear this, but not when I wear other foundations. I like to set this with a loose transculent powder (press and roll with a puff), buff Studio Fix powder on top, and set with setting spray for the ultimate beat face. The only downside to this foundation is that it doesn't have much oil control for my VERY oily skin. But honestly, I haven't found a foundation that has kept me shine free other than the Kevyn Aucoin sensual skin enhancer. I don't find that I break out from this either! I always come back to this foundation!

Lip Treatments -MAC - Lip Scrubtious

on 9/29/2017 6:01:00 AM

This sugar scrub comes in a variety of delicious flavors. It does a great job of exfoliating dry skin from lips and it tastes like candy. However, beware Summer Berry. It has purple coloring in it so it is messier than some of the other flavors. The granules are fine compared to the rough, chunky scrubs I have purchased from Jeffree Star. But it's hard to top Jeffree's Root Beer flavor.

MAC Scrubtious comes in a small jar and you apply with fingers. Realistically most people will not scoop this out with a spatula, so it's not the most sanitary method of distribution. When I see what they did with Rollerwheel eyeliner, it makes me wonder why they weren't more inventive with the packaging for this product. That is my only complaint. Otherwise it's a great scrub.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Waterweight Foundation SPF30

I ordered this foundation, and it arrived on Friday before my son's wedding rehearsal on Saturday. I had been curious about it, but was not sure, really, if it would work for me or not.( BTW, I am not a fan of F&B.) The day came, and it was 90 degrees in Ohio during the rehearsal. I applied this over UD primer (the pink one) and crossed my fingers. The coverage was smooth, even, more of a natural coverage than matte or radiant. NW20 was the shade I ordered, being light and pink. It does oxydize a bit, but it's not dramatic. It floated over my large pores and crevices with a beautiful light coverage, and a bit more on the cheek area did exactly what I wanted. I dusted a bit of KatVonD lock-it powder over top, which I received in a subscription box. I liberally sprayed with UD Chill, and although I was sweating and my hair totally fell, my makeup looked great. I wore it the next day for the outdoor wedding, with the same prep and finishing. Color me impressed! I can't wait to see how it works with my Julep Illuminating Primer, but that will have to wait until this dreadful heat has exited, stage left.

Melba is really nice. There's a supposed dupe of Melba called Papaya by a City Colour. I own both and they are very similar but Papaya is a touch lighter.

This is my absolute favorite lipstick! I wear the color Feels So Grand. This is non drying and long lasting. It also comes off with makeup remover without having to scrub. I will recommend this lip stick to all my friends. Beautiful colors to choose from and the pointed tip on the applicator helps with precision application. Love it.

I have this in N1 which is a little darker than my skin (about an N15) but looks very natural on me anyway.

Bought this a while ago but the finish was too dewy for me, I found it enhanced texture so I never used it and kept looking.

Gave it another try this summer. I wanted something lightweight that doesn't look like makeup in the sun.

Now it's become one of my top 2 favorites... I still dislike a dewy finish but using mac blot powder (shade medium) or IT cosmetics translucent powder really turns the finish into a soft satin. I do need to touch up with the powder during the day or blot.

I love that nobody can detect this on the skin and the how long wearing it is. The coverage is light but buildable to an extent.

It sinks slightly into wrinkles at the corners if my mouth but I just dab that away. Does not sink into pores at all.

It works great with the concealer (Lancome Effacernes) I use to cover pigmentation on my upper lip. This combo lasted thru long humid days this summer without breaking up at all.

All in all it's really beautifying and suitable for aging skin.
