Hair Treatments -LUSH -Superbalm Super Scalp Treatment

This is a very sad review for me to write. I wanted this to work so badly. Unfortunately, it didn’t do it for me like I hoped it would.

I have been having issues with my scalp and hair for a couple of years now. After one day of no shampooing, my scalp gets intensely itchy (occasionally to the point of pain) and flaky. I have awful dandruff. But at the same time my roots get super oily. The ends of my hair are extremely dry. So obviously I have a pretty unhealthy scalp. I explained this to the very kind employee at lush. He recommended this and it sounded like the answer to my prayers.

Upon my first use, I was pleased with the texture - a little really goes a long way. It smells like chamomile tea. When I put it in my scalp it tingled. I had no issues washing it out. My scalp was still itchy and flaky two days later, but I figured it would take a couple of tries for it to really start working. Fast forward about a month - I’d been using it just about twice a week, and there were not even any short term changes in my scalp, let alone long term. I went from that to maybe once a week, and at this point it’s sitting in my drawer and I haven’t touched it in maybe two months. I will probably try to use it again but this product didn’t even help me on the days I had used it. I’m sure superbalm works great for many people so I am pretty disappointed it didn’t for me.

This is definitely a mask for people with oily skin. My skin is combination, I don't have large pores but I do tend to break out a lot, which is when I went looking for a mask that would really calm my skin.

My testament to this product is that I used it about 2-3 times a week without any reactions (I have sensitive skin so this is important!). I almost never finish masks, I use them every so often and forget about them, but this one had such a transforming effect that I wanted to keep using it. It really smoothed my skin and made it noticeably softer, it also calmed the redness and healed my acne. I will absolutely re-purchase.

The scent is strong but not overpowering, and the texture is incredibly smooth. I liked that keeping the mask in the fridge made it cold when I applied it. This is also the easiest mask to remove, it washes off very cleanly and easily at the sink.

It can leave your skin tight and dry, so I would recommend following with toner and moisturiser before bed. I had good success combining with rose water for toner and trilogy balancing face lotion for moisturiser.

Without a doubt the worst Lush product I have ever used. Does absolutely nothing. Wasted $13.00 on a bar that will not lather even a tiny bit, and does nothing for my hair. Have been trying for a week to figure this out and I give up. Going in the trash. Undecided if I will give Lush another chance.

The lavender oils really calmed my skin. However, you only see results over a week, and its best with the angels on bare skin cleanser+tea tree water toner. Its one my all tome holly grail moisturizers. I’m in love with its scent too.

I absolutely would recommend this product for anyone with normal to combination skin. It gives the skin glow and balnces out complexion.

Smells amazing. This is a solid oil I guess. It melts very quickly and becomes an oil on your skin. It can be hard to get out of the pot it comes in, I can see why it used to come in a solid bar form, that would be messier but easier to work with, especially if you are applying this to a larger area like your legs and need more product. This is absolutely amazing on dry cuticles, I even prefer it to lemony flutter. Would repurchase.

What the heck is with this product? I can’t believe there are some people out there that like it. I’m not sure I’m understanding this product. I was given a big chunk as a sample, and told to lather it in my hands and then apply. I tried this many times but no matter what I did, I could not work up a large enough lather in my hands to spread on my hair. It’s like there was no creaminess or meltability (not a word). Then I thought of just running the bar down my hair and that didn’t seem to do much either. Finally, I decided to just break off a chunk of the bar and smash it in my hands, which was really messy because the little piece broke into a bunch of little chunks and I’m pretty sure I lost half of them down the drain. This seemed to work the best, allowing me to Build up a creamy layer on my hands. I rub this on my hair and felt like it didn’t do anything. No moisturization or anything. This product may work if you could figure out how to use it, but it takes so much effort and mess it’s not worth it.

I used this ages ago. I have combination skin and the sales rep recommended this to me.

this broke me out and made my face greasier than a counter top in McDonald's. will not be buying this again.

(also - why does lush keep on putting perfume in everything??? moisturiser does not need perfume!!!)

Shampoo -LUSH -Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo

really good for my frizzy coloured hair. I alternate between this and Daddy O (a purple shampoo that tones my hair) and my hair's holding up good.

Lotions/ Creams -LUSH -Sleepy Hand and Body Lotion

love this. I've been using it twice a day and it's kept my dry skin hydrated thru the winter.

idk abt it helping you to sleep - I have sleeping issues as is, so would take the whole mysterious healing properties w a grain of salt - but I love the malty lavender scent. it's really unique.

I'm also three months in and I'm only a third thru my pot, which is great.

Treatments (Face) -LUSH -Grease Lightning Spot Cleanser

hmm. I'm on the fence with this one.

it's good for a quick fix - if I have a few spots scattered across my face or wtv. I don't use it every day tho, and I'm still wary over the fact that they put perfume in this (why,,,lush,,,why)

I think I'll go back to the body shop's tea tree spot corrector after I'm finished w this bottle.

Hair -LUSH -No Drought

This was my first non aerosol dry shampoo, but it was a disappointment for me. I found that I had to use quite a bit of product to get the greasy feel away, and while there is PLENTY of product, kudos to Lush, I felt the product build up fast. Also, my hair would get greasy again faster than with other dry shampoos. For me, I believe it is because the main ingredient is Corn Starch, and I now stay away from those dry shampoos. I personally go for Rice starch, and then Tapioca. Those 2 work for me.

-Large amount, not too expensive
-Smells amaazing, just like fresh grapefruit
-Lush used recycled plastic for packaging

-Had to use a lot of product
-Quick buildup :/
-Hair got greasy again quickly

Hair Treatments -LUSH -R&B

This is the only product I need for my long, dry, wavy hair. It works beautifully for me and smells so good! What I do is right when I get out of the shower, I comb my hair into place, then pulls all my ends to the front of my shoulders. I get about a small marbles worth on my fingers and put it over my sipping wet ends and then maybe put a tiny bit over the top of the mid shaft of my hair. I comb it through and let it air dry. It’s the best!

I have normal to dry skin with large pores. I use a BHA daily to avoid blackheads but prefer physical scrubs to remove dead skin as I find AHAs don't really do anything for me. I use this mask in the shower, a couple of times a week. I apply two layers, leave it for just a couple of minutes and then rinse off with water. I find that I can use this before or after cleansing, it makes no difference.

I love this mask because it leaves my skin GLOWING! My face feels so lovely and soft. I wouldn't recommend this for daily use, but as a weekly or bi-weekly treatment. It is a clay mask, so I wouldn't recommend it for very dry skin types. I think the cost is reasonable ($17 in Australia) - it's around the same price as a drugstore mask tub. Just be aware it doesn't have a long shelf life. Also if you save the pot, Lush has a recycling scheme similar to Back2MAC where you get a free mask if you return 5 empty and clean pots.

I would definitely buy this mask again.
