Bath Treatments -LUSH -Twilight Bath Bomb

on 10/23/2017 7:33:00 AM

This is hands down the cutest Lush bath bomb I have tried.

I love the smell of it (sweet, but not OTT; a bit of lavender but nothing granny-like). It helps me relax and unwind, especially after a very stressful day at work. Works every time and I even break it into two (because I am greedy that way lol) so that I can use it twice. The entire Twilight line is heavenly, you can see more photos + read more about it in a separate review here ( I am very happy with my picks and can't recommend these enough!

Shampoo -LUSH -Rehab Shampoo

on 10/22/2017 2:10:00 PM

I switched to using LUSH Shampoo and Condition (Veganese) at the end of April 2017 and I'm just finishing my first bottle of each. I bought the medium sized ones, for reference. I love this shampoo, but it is different. If you're used to conventional shampoos where it lathers up a whole bunch when you put it in your hair then you might have some adjusting to do when using this product. This product, you only need about a dime - quarter sized amount. I have bra-band length hair, and a whole lot of it and I only use that much to wash my hair, even after going to the gym. With this product you have to make sure your hair is really wet before putting it in and then make sure it's evenly distributed. It will definitely lather really well but it needs to be evenly dispersed throughout your hair to make sure it gets really clean.

This product makes your hair feel really tingly almost. It leaves a really amazing mint scent to your hair and makes it feel really clean. I personally really love this shampoo, and love the way it makes my hair feel when I'm washing it. I really like the smell and the way it feels when I am washing my hair.

This is much pricier than most shampoos (unless you buy salon quality brands) but I made the switch because I personally want products that are not animal tested, and do not use animal by-products in them. I am not taking a political stand with it, it's just my preference. So in searching for shampoo and conditioner to meet those needs, I came across this one and I'm really happy with it. I will definitely be repurchasing when my current bottle runs out which will be very shortly I think. It does last a long time though - I purchased this one towards the end of April 2017 and I am just running out now, with the medium sized bottle. I wash my hair every other day, or every 3rd day in some cases but that's an odd time when that happens.

Conditioner -LUSH -R&B Revive & Balance Hair Moisturizer

on 10/22/2017 1:55:00 PM

I first tried a sample of this when I purchased the shampoo and conditioner, and the lady at the store threw this in with my purchase. She recommended I use it after I wash my hair, but before I blow dry/straighten. She mentioned the product will kind of melt into my hair and make it very soft.

At first, when I put the product in my hair felt horrible. Even combing through wet hair there were tangles and it was horrible. However, then I blow dried my hair and straightened it and the result was amazing! My hair is so soft and shiny and it looks absolutely amazing. I have blonde hair (not naturally . . . lol) and I was really worried this would mess with the colour or turn blonde brassy as sometimes products will mess with blonde/processed hair and make it look bad. The SA assured me it wouldn't happen, so I only used a little bit of this to begin with and see how it worked. After a couple samples I decided to bite the bullet and make this purchase. I love this product . . . it has replaced my heat protect products I previously used and my hair has never felt better. I started using this at the same time I started using their shampoo and conditioner products so I don't know if it's just this product or the combination but my hair feels amazing, and once it's dry there isn't any tangles or dry ends. I can also now go for 3 days without washing my hair and it still looks fresh and just styled.

There are a couple downsides to this product. The first is the price. I do feel for the size of the tub you get it's a little pricey, but it will last a while. For those who say you need a lot of this product to see a difference, I haven't found that to be the case. I bought a tub about 3 months ago, and I'm maybe half way through it. I think it will definitely last quite a while, so it is worth it but the upfront investment could be seen as an issue. The second downside is that it will make your hair oily if you use too much. When the SA says a little goes a long way they really mean it. I find that I put the majority of the product towards the ends of my hair and use it very sparingly on my roots as this is where it will look oily first.

Overall, I love this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone who straightens their hair or heat styles on a regular basis.

Lip Treatments -LUSH -Honey Trap Lip Balm

on 10/17/2017 9:31:00 AM

Is it just me or did this jump from $6.95 CAD to $10.95 CAD right before our eyes? I'm sad. It used to be expensive but still justifiable.. but now it's just bonkers. I'm not spending nearly 11 bucks on a lip balm. I shall make my own copycat version :)

Here are the original ingredients:
Fair Trade Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) Almond Oil (Prunus dulcis) Beeswax (Cera alba) Honey (Honey/Miel) Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Olea europaea) Vegan White Chocolate (Cocoa Butter, Rice Syrup, Rice Starch, Rice Flour, Sugar) Glycerine Flavor (Fragrance) Organic Cold Pressed Wheatgerm Oil (Triticum Vulgare) Oatmeal (Avena Sativa) (Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal) Peppermint Oil (Mentha piperita) Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla planifolia) Sweet Wild Orange Oil (Citrus sinensis) *Anise Alcohol *Benzyl Alcohol *Limonene *Linalool Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone *Occurs naturally in essential oils

Lip Treatments -LUSH -Mint Julips Lip Scrub

on 10/17/2017 9:27:00 AM

I was so sad to learn that this product jumped in price significantly. Seems like it was $6.95 CAD just a couple years ago and now it's $10.95! I decided to make my own recipe and it is very similar. Here it is:

3 Tbsp Raw sugar or castor sugar (regular sugar works too but the raw/castor one is coarser)
2 Tbsp Jojoba oil
1-2 "shots" of Tim Horton's Mint Chocolate Flavouring (go to Tim's and ask for a shot or two of the mint chocolate flavour in a cup and then add it. It's about 25 cents per shot)

Mix it all up and it should resemble Mint Julips :)

Cleansers -LUSH -Ultra Bland

on 10/15/2017 4:29:00 PM

it is my - by far - biggest Lush disappoitment. i have high hopes, when i started to use Ultrabland and basically my adult acne under control (more or less, depend on the time of the month obviously). i used it only at evenings for a few day and i have the massive, MASSIVE breakout. i haven't had such a red, cystic volcanos since i stoped to use drugstore cheap cosmetic. at first i thought, that maybe my hormons gone wilder than usually, but then i dicovered that after using Ultrabland (and warm cloth) i still have to use second cleanser or - at least - my Bioderma micelar water. to be honest, i don't use that much of a makeup, barely a tinted moisturizer and some of concealer, and Ultrabland didn't handle even that. but ok, i'm a double cleanse kind of girl, i could live with that (although i buy it to reduce my cosmetic bag and shorten my evening skin care routine), but this horrible breakout was getting worse and worse, so i kick Ultrabland out and currently i back to my Origins + Bioderma + Luna combo and i see a little improvement. most importantly - since i stop to use Ultrabland there are no new pimples and i have "only" the old ones to heal.

in the end - cause i have almost full jar of it, i use it as a feet cream and i guess they're more happy about Ultrabland than my face was...

Gels/Soaps -LUSH -Rose Jam Shower Gel

on 10/14/2017 6:40:00 AM

There really aren't any bad thing I can say about this. Probably my favorite shower gel. Love the color, the smell, and it foams really well. The scent lingers on the skin for quite a bit after I've showered which I really enjoy. Like all LUSH products it is pricey but for what it is it's worth it in my opinion.

Fragrances -LUSH -Gorilla Perfume - Sikkim Girls

on 10/14/2017 12:23:00 AM

This is like nothing I have smelled before in a fragrance. It starts out with the destinctive Lush heady, slightly acric smell, but give it a little time and it blooms into a soft, smokey floral. I was floored the first time I wore this, by how unique, comforting and beautiful it wears on the skin. I have worn fragrances like Sisley Eau de Soir and Chanel #19 for years but discovering Sikkim Girls really is more my speed than highend pricey fumes. Just wonderful!

Body Scrubs -LUSH -Scrubee

on 10/13/2017 4:07:00 PM

This is my HG exfoliator period! OMG the smell is amazing - warm caramel honey comforting smell which makes my showering experience so much more fun! I LOVE IT! The fact that it is super easy to use (no tugging) plus moisturizes wonderfully (no lotions/creams needed after) is beyond wonderfully delightful! There is nothing bad I can say about this cute little guy! I LOVE IT!!! Lush please NEVER discontinue this because I will be seriously heartbroken if you do! I don't like much Lush stuff except for this and the "Raining Men Shower Gel". Both of these are my HG products!!!

Lip Treatments -LUSH -Bubblegum Lip Scrub

on 10/12/2017 10:23:00 AM

I have been using this scrub for about two months now and I must say this is the best lip scrub I know of. I'm using it 1-2 times a week and my lips are now constantly soft and smooth. I apply a very small amount of the scrub on slightly damp lips (over a sink!) and massage it in for about 15 seconds, then wash it off with warm water. That's it. Very easy and quick, and the result is so satisfying.
The only thing I'm worried about is that it might gradually dry out since there is a lot of product in that glass pot! After 2 months of use, I barely scratched the surface of it. I wish Lush sold it in smaller amounts (I would not mind buying a fresh one once a year without wasting any product).

Fragrances -LUSH -Vanillary

on 10/11/2017 3:43:00 PM

First things first, Vanillary's opening is aggressive, I don't even try to smell my wrist 15' after spraying and just a spritz is enough.

After the boozy jasmine leaves the scene all I get is an abstract buttery, toasty gourmand that becomes more smoked and caramelized as it evolves. Brings to mind warm baguettes with butter and honey on top while the scent of baking some serious vanilla pound cake lingers thickly in the air. Definitely not just vanilla and stays this way until the end. Not in the least sugary which I appreciate a lot. Kinda belongs to the same family with Jeux de peau in this sense.

Sillage is strong, so is longevity and clings to clothing until the next wash which may be too much of a good thing. I can see many things potentially going wrong for people (the jasmine might be too indolic, too strong overall, stays roughly the same for many hours and can get tiresome) so Vanillary isn't a safe blind buy. Wouldn't call it a sophisticated fragrance but it's comfy and satisfying when in the mood for some serious cocooning. I can even declare that it's officially the fourth member of the perfume family that lives by my bedside (among L'instant magic, Bois farine and Lolita Lempicka in case you're curious) I'm pleased.

Styling Products -LUSH -Queen Bee Hair Honey

I accidentally posted the last review but was not finished lol. This product is amazing! I wouldn't recommend it for people with really thin/fine hair as it seems more heavy duty. A little goes a long way and is most effective when your hair is wet. I use the majority of the product on my ends and than the rest in the middle of my hair, never on the roots. The product smells good, not exactly like honey but quite close. I find this product to be good for helping slick down any split ends, to limit further breakage as well as to hydrate when applied. I also slather my ends before going to bed and when I wash my hair in the morning it doesn't leave my hair looking greasy at all. Don't get discouraged if you use to much the first few times as it takes some getting used to. The product is almost waxy feeling but melts very quickly into your hands. You will need a container to store it effectively and it will need to be kept in a rather cool place.
