Skincare - Face -Clinique -Turnaround Revitalizing Lotion

This is a nice essence type product that I enjoy using. It is light and makes my skin feel fresh and hydrated. The texture is a silky gel and absorbs easily into skin. This is a great product for all skin types.

Masks -Clinique - Turnaround Revitalizing Instant Facial

When I was reading about this product, I thought it would work wonderfully for my skin. I was disappointed with it though. The scrub is very abrasive. I didn't feel comfortable using this product, it felt very harsh. I used it as directed as a mask, and I was underwhelmed with the results. It has a weird glitter in it, or it leaves your face with a "radiant glow" which is imparted with the mica that is in it. Not a fan. I returned it after I used it a couple times.

Treatments (Face) -Clinique -Turnaround revitalizing treatment oil

This is a nice oil from Clinique for the face. It has salicylic acid which is unique for facial oils. This is good for any skin type. It is not too rich, and I can use it as I have oily skin and sometimes oils are difficult to use. Plastic bottle, 30 mL. I would repurchase again.

Mascara -Clinique -Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara

on 6/30/2018 3:37:00 PM

I finally bought this in Black Honey after a long time of having it on my wishlist. I should have bought it sooner, I really love it! Being a fair redhead I dislike black mascara (too harsh on my skin tone). It's funny, when I wear it with red/pink looks I don't notice the color. But when I wore it with brown shadow the other day I totally noticed the burgundy color! Anyway, I do feel that the package could be improved. I don't love the brush style, but I can manage. Do note this is like many mascaras these days where way too much comes out on the brush. If I didn't AGGRESSIVELY wipe off the brush, I would consider this unusable (too clumpy, would create one giant lash). But once I get it good and wiped, I do feel it goes on very nicely, creating length and separation, although not so much volume. But that is just the look I like! I had been having trouble with my old mascara smudging, even if I skipped my lower lashes. I love that this doesn't smudge on me! I went to Sephora to order more, and it's now out of stock -- I really hope it returns in this color.

Moisturizers -Clinique -Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

Luckily I got this as a GWP, along with a small pot of 'All about eyes'. Going on this seemed amazing, I could almost feel my skin breathing a sigh of relief as this watery gel textured moisturizer glided onto it, and would absorb within seconds. It was also the perfect level of hydration for my oily/combination skin type. But within days I started experiencing red bumps on my cheeks and forehead, which is when I finally decided to take a look at the ingredients list and spotted 'Dimethicone' sitting near the top (I really should've checked that first!). If your skin tolerates silicones - by all means give it a try. Unfortunately my skin hates any type of silicone so will have to pass this on to someone else to try.

Foundations -Clinique -Continuous Coverage

This is Clinique’s version of “camouflage” makeup designed to cover scars, birthmarks, skin discolorations and other skin imperfections. I’ve used this for years, mainly as a concealer and on occasion as a foundation. A little goes a long way so a tube lasts me a few years. I usually toss it around the 2 year mark more so for hygiene, I’ve never had a tube separate or go bad. I am on what I guesstimate to be my 5th or 6th tube so it’s a definite repurchse for me, especially since at the time of my review it sells for $26 USD for a 1 oz. tube, reasonable in my book.
My typical method of use is to squeeze out a a dab on my ring finger, transferring it equally between both ring fingers, putting a few dabs around eyes and nose, tapping it in well around my eyes, and then sheering out whatever is left in the center of my face. It sheers out very well as it doesn’t immediately set up, I find the more moisturizer I’ve applied on my dry skin the easier and better it spreads.
Both colors creamy glow and ivory glow have worked for me over the years as my skin tone is fair to light and neutral, but since my skin tone leans slightly cooler as I age the ivory matches better. I highly recommend trying this before purchase if you plan to use it as a full coverage makeup or concealer because the limited 4 shades may not work for you.
Last fall I couldn’t find this so I got some Estée Lauder doublewear maximum coverage in shade 1N3 creamy vanilla (the lightest they offered at the time) and although the Estée is similar in coverage, it is a drier thinner formula, sets up much faster and doesn’t budge a bit when set. Clinique recommends the continuous coverage for their skin types of 1 & 2 so it may not work for oily skin types. Despite still having an almost full tube of Estée I decided to get some Clinique because the Estée has fragrance in it and also shade 1N3 is warm/yellow, the more sun I get the pinker my complexion gets and the yellow undertone of the 1N3 looks off.
Neither Sephora nor Ulta sells this so anyone wishing to try it would either meed to play “mail order roulette” or find their way to a Clinique Counter to swatch or obtain a sample.

Lip Treatments -Clinique -Superbalm Lip Treatment

on 6/29/2018 2:09:00 PM

I was hesitant to spend so much on what is essentially a lip balm, but unlike other balms this absorbs quickly and hydrates deeply without leaving a slick or oily film on my lips. I feel that my lips have gotten smoother after using this for a couple of weeks. It is a great primer under lip color, and particularly helps mattes glide on more easily. I don't think it prolongs wear, but it doesn't seem to make lip color wear off more quickly either. It does provide a smooth, moisturized surface for you lip color.

Moisturizers -Clinique -Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly

on 6/28/2018 10:55:00 PM

I was excited to finally get my hands on the new Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. I grew up using the very first, original, yellow version but finally abandoned it after realizing my skin just needed more. The new Clinique Hydrating Jelly goes over skin quite easily and absorbs rather quickly. This was an issue I had with both the Clinique yellow "dramatically different" moisturizers is that they both just sat on top of my skin for a few minutes before fully absorbs. The second yellow moisturizer was a lot better than the first (which was created with water, glycerin, mineral oil, and petroleum as its first ingredients.
Like it's precursors, the Hydrating Jelly is free of denatured alcohol and fragrance free. This contains some antioxidants, but those are mostly from algae. This is a rather simple formula but this would be best used with a full skincare routine so that your skin isn't starved of antioxidants, peptides, and AHA/BHA's. This definitely has a place in a good skincare routine, I've been using this in place of where I usually use my normal serum and been pretty happy. My video review can be seen here:

Moisturizers -Clinique -Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate

Going trhough my second bottle of this and I quite like it for a summer time moisturizer/serum although it's nothing special. I have combo, acne prone skin and this brings me the much needed moisture without breaking me out or making my skin super oily and also goes well under make up. It doesn't have a scent to it so I would imagine this going well with a sensitive skin type too. I also like the packagin of this product. It comes in a see-through plastic bottle and when you pump it out the bottom of the bottle pushes the product upwards so it's really hygienic and does not get in touch with air. So if you're looking for a bit of an extra moisture kick for your skin then this is a good option, but it's really all it does since it doesn't have any other active ingredients than hyaluronic acid.

Lips -Clinique -Chubby Stick Intense Broadest Berry

on 6/28/2018 11:32:00 AM

Like other reviewers, I wasn't thrilled with the original Chubby Sticks because the color fades in 45 minutes. I got Chubby Stick Intense in Broadest Berry as part of a GWP, and it's pretty good (though not great). It is more of a plum/blackberry than a red/pink/raspberry, but it does have some sheerness and softness to it, so unlike a matte lipstick of the same shade, it won't overwhelm a fair complexion and it doesn't look harsh on my 47-yo face. Color longevity is about 4 hours but it fades very nicely and gradually and doesn't turn patchy. This shade would compliment most skin tones, whether fair or deep, warm or cool. I kind of enjoy the fun "Crayola" aspect of filling in my lips with a pointy-tipped crayon so that's a plus for me as well.

Only drawback is that it isn't as moisturizing as the regular Chubby Stick. Feels more like a traditional creme lipstick.

My everyday moisturizer. Honestly, it's perfection!

Mascara -Clinique -Bottom Lash Mascara

on 6/25/2018 3:04:00 PM

I like this mascara but I think the brush is a little *too* small. The formula was fine, nothing particularly special, but I just got annoyed by the tiny brush. I really thought I was going to like it but it ended up just being a hindrance.

Gives minimum length and volume, would not recommend.

Cleansers -Clinique -Pep-Start 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser

on 6/23/2018 6:29:00 PM

I really like this exfoliator, it cleans nicely without stripping or causing irritation, it’s a foaming exfoliating scrub and the beads are very gentle yet effective for getting rid of dead skin cells and impurities/makeup.
This smoothes my skin and I feel it works really well for my acne prone sensitive skin that’s very oily.
