Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -British Rose Instant Glow Body Butter

on 1/29/2018 5:11:00 AM

This body butter is very similar in texture to some of the other Body Shop Body butters. It is quite a thick and creamy texture which melts into the skin and leaves it feeling soft, hydrated and delicately scented. It absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave me feeling greasy. It doesn’t seem to make me ‘glow’ as it claims too, it leaves the skin looking like it looks after using any other of the Body Shop’s Body butters. This doesn’t have glitter or shimmer in it, unlike some other products which promise glow. The scent is lovely and delicate and rosy - very British indeed! It is reminiscent of a rose garden and doesn’t smell synthetic or chemically. It does however have a powdery note to it which I am not a big fan of. I believe this scent would be more suited to a more mature woman. It is definitely a gentle, refined and classy scent. I like the scent enough to finish my tub but I would not repurchase and am glad I only picked up the small size.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Olive Body Butter

on 1/28/2018 7:53:00 PM

I received the 6.75 oz. version as a gift and really enjoyed it! I have dry skin, and this sank in nicely and kept my skin hydrated. I apply lotion in the morning and after I shower at night. I enjoy the sharp green herbal scent and texture.

The only problem is that I went through my jar in less than a month. The same size is currently on one of TBS's very frequent sales for $12.60, and I honestly think that's too steep. I usually use Alba Botanica's Very Emollient Body Lotion, and I can get 32 oz. on Amazon for $10. While this one is more greasy and hydrating, I don't think the price is quite worth it.

I also find the tub packaging annoying to use and store and don't think that the cream is so thick it wouldn't work in a squeeze tube instead.

Overall, I would buy this again on discount and happily use it up as a gift but probably won't purchase it otherwise.

Cleansers -The Body Shop -Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

on 1/28/2018 1:07:00 PM

Great for sensitive skin or those wanting to double-cleanse.

I use this to take my makeup off at the end of the day before I go in with a gel cleanser. Just a little bit gets everything off - foundation, waterproof mascara, eyebrow makeup. Has a nice, light, natural scent and doesn't leave any greasy residue on the skin.

I have sensitive, acne-prone, combination skin and this has yet to irritate me.

-cost efficient
-doesn't break me out
-gets everything off

-tin packaging sometimes a little difficult to manage

Skincare - Face -The Body Shop -Vitamin e serum in oil

on 1/27/2018 7:34:00 PM

Lovely product. Nearly used up a bottle now and i can’t believe how long it’s lasted. I bought In the winter months of 2016 and have been using it every night in the colder weather. I skip this in summer as my skin doesn’t get as dry but in the cold seasons my face really benefits from the added oil/ serum combo. I love how it isn’t greasy and goes perfectly under night cream before bed. Smells nice and the packaging is gorgeous. £16 is a little expensive but I do think it’s worth it considering it actually works and lasts forever!

Treatments (Face) -The Body Shop -DROPS OF YOUTH Bouncy Sleeping Mask

on 1/27/2018 6:18:00 PM

I basically bought this because of the packaging to be honest. I would not recommend this product.I am in my mid thirties without any fine lines or wrinkles. I purchased this on impulse while in the store to buy another product. I bought it because it said "stem cell rejuvenating" however, as I learned afterwards plant stem cell is scientifically not possible to act on human skin and the only type of stem cell that can help you is your own. I tried the mask out for one night. When I woke up in the morning my skin did look smoother and plumpish ( these creams work to swell the skin thus making it look plump) and there were crows feet near my eyes ( which has since disappeared). My skin looked extremely oily and throughout the day I got several breakouts on my forehead because of this product. This product works just like a heavy glycerin based products example Nivea hand cream ( which I put on my face once) and it swelled my pores. I would not recommend this product 1) because it does not work 11) because its touting a pseudo -science aka plant stem cell. I promptly returned the product to the store for a refund.

Masks -The Body Shop -Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow mask

on 1/26/2018 1:06:00 AM

This Charcoal mask leaves a very fresh and tingly feeling after it is washed off. It is nice that it has bits of green tea leaves that gives an added gentle exfoliation. I can almost dub this a glam glow (original version) dupe as the way it dries down is very similar to GlamGlow. I would highly recommend this face mask, as it fantastic for everyday gentle exfoliation (when applied thinly) and great for a deeper cleanses when applied thick.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Hemp Hand Protector

on 1/21/2018 6:42:00 PM

Like a lot of ppl, i'm not a huge fan of the scent and I find it smells more masculine than herbal.

This stuff is AMAZING!!! I have tried many hand creams and this is by far the BEST one. I've tried brands like l'occitane, khiels to d/s brands and nothing has really helped moisturize as well as this hemp cream!! For the quality you get and the price you pay for it, I'm surprised more ppl don't rave about it.

I have pretty bad eczema on my thumbs which i make far worse by picking at the dry skin. This cream keeps them moisturized and comfortable. It's very thick but doesn't feel greasy. I can also just use it to spot treat as well so one tube will last a while for me.

Price is also very good and the product is made in FRANCE!!!! I believe this retails for $21 CAD for 100ml but they had a sale on and i got it for 50% off. I will definitely be repurchases this little gem, even if i had to pay reg price for it!!!

Treatments (Face) -The Body Shop -Vitamin C Instant Glow Enhancer

on 1/19/2018 6:43:00 PM

It is a slightly scented dark orange color cream that is supposed to make dull/tired skin look glowy and healthy. I bought it spontaneously on a 50% sale in the Body Shop store and have been trying it out for about a month.

Even though it is orange, it does not give any tint to my light-to-medium tone skin. Once it gets absorbed, it is invisible on my face. Does it give any glow though? Not really... Or not more than a daily moisturizer. However, I would not replace my moisturizer with this product since it is slightly more tacky and less hydrating. It is not a moisturizer nor a primer... nor a highlighter. I am sad to say that I still have not found a good place for this product in my skincare or makeup regime.

I am also not convinced that it could be beneficial (brightening?) in a long term. I have seen Vitamin C results on my skin when using high quality serums where Vitamin C concentration was as high as between 10% and 20%. Yet it took me several months (of daily applications) to see the first positive effects. TBS does not indicate Vitamin C concentration on this product packaging which makes me think it cannot be very potent.

I can give this product two lippies simply for not messing up with my skin (it does not irritate, does not effect my makeup application or appearance), but I am disappointed about not seeing any effect whatsoever. Will not repurchase it.

Cleansers -The Body Shop -Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash

on 1/17/2018 7:54:00 AM

I have 41 years old and suffer from acne and cystic acne and have oily skin. This really helps keep my acne and oil down tremendously. This really helped my complexion clear up and keep my breaks outs down.

Treatments (Face) -The Body Shop -DROPS OF YOUTH Youth Liquid Peel

on 1/15/2018 4:43:00 PM

I use this every single night because it really helps fight my breakouts even though I know its a exfoliator and shouldn't be used every day. I like it for what it does to my oily acne-prone skin, but it is super hard to get it off the face! When it sits, it sits. I can almost not get everything off no matter what I do. Thats my big problem with this. It has a nice smell and a little goes a long way with this. Not sure if I would buy again though.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Coconut Body Butter

on 1/15/2018 11:35:00 AM

I love the consistency of this stuff, it does a good job of moisturizing my body. However, I don't love the smell. I love coconut but this one seems like... just a cheap imitation of coconut. It's not a bad smell, just not one that I love. I will use it all up but won't repurchase.

Treatments (Eye) -The Body Shop -Aloe Eye Defence

on 1/14/2018 9:15:00 PM

My eyes get dry and honestly I don't really NEED an eye cream - I don't have circles or bags. But I love my eyes to feel refreshed and this you can apply all over your eyes, put your makeup on and go. I bought mine at Marshalls a few months ago, but I believe I am going to repurchase at Body Shop online when it's gone. Why waste money looking for something better when this fits the bill? Give it a try!

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Absinthe Purifying Hand Cream

on 1/11/2018 5:54:00 AM

I got this in the January sales and I really like this product. It moisturises my hands without giving them a horrible sticky and slippery feeling. I feel the cream really sinks in. Also it's marketed to eliminate odours. I haven't used it after handling anything with a strong odour yet, but I think it would eliminate anything stinky! The smell of the cream isn't unpleasant or overpowering. In fact I quite like the smell.

Hair -The Body Shop -Grapeseed Glossing Serum

on 1/11/2018 5:43:00 AM

I really like this serum. I've had mine AGES because you only need the tiniest amount. One or two pumps does the job on my shoulder length hair. Too much and your hair is gonna look greasy. I like the smell of this product too. It's not an overpowering or artificial smell that a lot of products have. I'll definitely buy this again when my current bottle runs out
