Like lots of other people, I lovvveee DW but find it too heavy on my skin for everyday wear. I've been wearing DWL for a year and a half now and I'm never going back. I've been on a mission to find the perfect foundation since I was 15 and here we are 15 years later, and I've found it :) The texture is amazing - creamy, easy to blend and really easy to build coverage. My skin looks glowy and gorgeous, even on days when I'm tired or a bit run down. It doesn't completely cover dark circles or my patches of hyperpigmentation, but that's what colour correctors and concealer are for right? It looks natural and fresh, and doesn't feel heavy or cakey. I get compliments on my skin all the time and DWL definitely has a part to play in that... so thanks Estée Lauder!

I had to try this foundation because it is so famous. The foundation it self has AMAZING coverage. However, it comes across a little cakey after a while because it is so thick and kind of heavy. I personally prefer a lighter and more natural looking foundation, but it does what it promises - high coverage.

I purchased a gift set with sample sized products from EL that included this cream and the eye cream of the same category. I really like this cream and use it at night with advanced night repair serum. Good product, goes well together with any other brand serums. the skin feels soft, smooth, nourished and firm but not oily/greasy; I also like the EL smell a lot. I would buy this product but also looking for a bit cheaper alternative of a night cream with the same effect.

I love this stuff. I ran out several sample size bottles of this, feeling a need now to use this every night before applying the cream/moisturizer. Immediately after the application I feel the skin is plumped, it's not dry and not oily, a very comfort feeling; the skin is so smooth. I enjoy using it and I love the smell. Did not experience any breakouts. It's like an elixir and a special night routine step for my skin. Really thinking about getting a full size product, however, yes, the price is very high for it.

This is by far the largest bronzer I ever had. It's huge and I'm quite positive that only pro makeup artists are able to hit the pan before product expires. I find it to be too dark, too obvious and too orange on my skin. (Bare in mind I love Hoola Lite and BareMinerals invisible bronzers)The packaging feels like something that comes from a drugstore, I hate the brush it comes with. Also, the bronzer itself doesn't last long enough on my skin. There are better products out there.

Another total whim purchase, the Estee Lauder rep pushed it on me while I was getting color matched for some EL light. Overall it's a nice duo, one end is the "serum" and has a doe type applicator, the other end is a stick concealer. I am slightly dissatisfied with the color options they offer, for light skin tones there is just a "1C" cool shade and runs a little peach. But I have some major under eye circles and thought I'd at least try it out. I was impressed when the EL rep applied this to my cleansed skin with no additional moisturizer, and it actually provided some hydration. The serum is more of an illuminating liquid, I like the formula because it adds a little moisture to my under eye area and I find this a perk when reapplying later in the day. The peachy tone works as a color corrector. I take and spread one side of the applicator under one eye, the other side under the other eye, then pat it in. The concealer is a creamy stick style and I apply it directly to my under eye area, after applying the serum, again patting it on. The EL lady put both products on at the same time and patted it in that way, but I think this results in an uneven application. The cool tone works well but I have been told my skin tone is universal, but I do lean warm though. This lightest of colors they offer absolutely won't work for fair skin, but as EL has been expanding their color range, there might be hope yet.Upon initial application it helps cover about 90% of the dark shadows but this is definitely not a full coverage. It does not last all day either. So one star off. I leave the 4 remaining stars as it reapplies quite well without making a mess, and as I've said before, it is slightly hydrating.

So this is a mixed review. Shade 2.0 worked fine with me but not shade 3.0. They do oxidize and crease. It is obvious I am wearing makeup, even though this is supposed to be a light foundation. The 3.0 goes a little orangey. They are okay, but not a good deal.

My HG foundation for over ten years! I have oily, acne-prone skin, so I like a matte, longlasting finish and this does the deed. This is almost full coverage, but you can sheer it out if you want to (add a bit of moisturizer) on 'natural' days or build it up on 'bad skin days'. You only need a small amount, because if you use too much, it will look cakey. If you are more on the dry/normal side it might accentuate dry patches, so moisturise well before using this. The bottle is glass, so not that great for traveling. It doesn't come with a pump (sigh..) but you can buy one separately. The smell is quite neutral and faint, not disturbing or anything at all. Despite the price, which is quite high, I will keep repurchasing because this gives me a nice finish, good coverage and lasts most of the day (with setting powder on top), and I have not find any other (drugstore or luxury) foundation to match this one. I also really appreciate the fact that they have a wide array of shades with different undertones, from very fair to very dark, although my shade is only available online in my country. I am a NW15-20 in Mac (fair with cool undertones) for reference and I use 1n2 Ecru in EL Double Wear (I can make 2n1 Desert Beige also work for me). Note: I prefer the neutral undertone to the more pinkish undertone of the c-shades (c=cool, n=neutral, w=warm).

I realized the effectiveness of this product after not using it for a while and then starting back up. I had gotten lazy with the extra step of applying an eye cream and noticed a lot more creasing under my eyes when I applied concealers. Nights that I would use this and wake up my undereye area was definitely more plump. There’s a tingle that lasts for a few minutes, but eventually it subsides. I have noticed less creasing in my concealer so I have to assume that it is helping my fine lines and with hydration! I think that because my undereyes are more hydrated they also don’t appear as dark. Once I am done with my jar (expensive yet lasts a while), I want to try out other eye creams so I have something to better compare it to. But at the same time, I don’t know if I should really switch to something else since I know this works and doesn’t irritate my skin. I guess I’ll decide when the time comes! And just a side note - I can see how some people see the packaging as inconvenient (having to dig their fingers in). Honestly, I just store it upside down and use the product that gathers in the lid. Just a tip from me to you!

This is the lipstick shade that best explains "My skin, only better".It looks natural on me and goes on easily. It is creamy and comfortable to wear. It's good for an understated natural look.I'll wear a lip liner (of a darker shade) beneath it for better color payoff.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I write this long overdue conclusion that truly grieves me. My relationship with this foundation has endured for 3 years and although I was deeply in denial for the majority of that time I can now face reality and say definitively that Estee Lauder Double Wear breaks me out. Basically, I am both a makeup junkie and someone that takes very good care of her skin. I never fall asleep in my makeup and even when stumbling into my house drunk at 3AM after a wild party I still indulge in my skincare routine. I use the double or triple cleansing method where I remove makeup with a cleansing oil, use a face wash and follow up with a toner and a chemical exfoliant like glycolic acid, AHA, BHA etc. The only reason I'm even sharing this information is because I feel like whenever someone pops up and accuses Double Wear of residual effects people are so quick to judge like "Well maybe you're not removing it properly" or "It could be something else in your beauty routine". For years I was convincing myself that it was my face wash, moisturizer, primer, diet, dehydration, pollen in the air, my cat etc. I never considered for a moment that it was in fact this foundation because I just didn't want to believe it. It is the #1 bestselling foundation and the fancy blue box itself claims the formula is non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic. I also find it strange that although I am not the only person who has experienced this nobody has been able to successfully pinpoint the actual ingredient(s) that may be causing breakouts. The truth is anytime I have this in my makeup rotation and especially when I wear it on a continual basis my pores become clogged, my complexion looks dull and I get these wet angry pimples on my chin and jaw area. But when I put this at the back of my makeup drawer and use other foundations my skin mysteriously clears up to the point I honestly don't even need a foundation. Its like the more I wear ELDW the more I need to wear it because my skin looks so bad. I'm just so heartbroken about this because I adored literally everything about this foundation for a very long time. I recently bought a new bottle and I will likely return it because I am no longer willing to have pimply unattractive skin so I can continue to wear it. It's time to break up and finally let Estee Lauder Double Wear go...

This stuff is so good and actually much better than what it use to be ( it use to bemuch more like spack filler but still good)!
It’s a true medium, buildable, satin long wearing foundation. I’ve found my favourite products to use under it (the olay complete spf range is good) but did have a bit of trial and error, anything to lipid rich and it does move around but anything too ‘matte’ can cause the foundation to cling. My favourite brushes to apply are Real Techniques buffing and contour brushes to really help pull and spread the product, I find with these brushes I can continue to deposit and buff coverage even when the brush feels dry. Personally I’ve found a beauty blender does not work with this, particularly if you are dry because your skin is fighting for moisture from the damp sponge and the foundation and then it just looks patchy.
I also like to set this with the Laura Mercier Baked Radiance powder, it brings life with no sparkle and locks in the foundation.
The shades are a little tricky too...I have 3 actually, cool bone, ecru and desert beige depending on the weather and if I have any tan!

This is my holy grail foundation. It looks great after initial application. But what made it my go to is that as it wears during the day, it gets a little more dewey looking on my combo (leaning towards oily) skin. But dewey in a good, “I’m naturally glowing” way. It really wears off beautifully (all foundations wear off as the day goes on, it’s just HOW they wear off on your skin that’s important!). Personally, I’ve never had any issues with it gathering or wiping off the way other foundations have. The only thing people have to be careful with is that this can look cakey if you apply too much OR if your skin isn’t properly hydrated beforehand. However, that’s a problem that can be worked around once you find out the best way to prep your skin and apply. Personally, I feel like people with oily skin types and those looks for medium leaning towards high coverage (with spot concealing on problematic areas b/c zit redness/discoloration still peeks through on me) would really enjoy this foundation. Those with dry skin or those that want a lot of coverage after initial application may not be too into it as it would probably look cakey by the end of the day.

Some MU items are classic for a reason. Very few MU products become instant HGs to me and this is one of them. I'm so happy with my purchase. It's highly covering and gives a beautiful finish. It's called a "stay-in-place MU", let me tell you, it does NOT move all day. I swear, I wore it for over 12 hours as I was travelling and my face still looked good at the end ! I agree with other reviewers as it gets better as the day goes by. However, it dries quite fast so you need to blend it quickly. I find it works perfectly with the RT complexion brush. I like that it has no pump because I can control how much product I need, you usually end up with more than you want with pumps.

My current foundation favorites have been failing me lately and summer is approaching, so it was time to switch it up a bit. I have oily skin, prone to clogging more than breaking out (I've isolated the zit culprits, but the clog harbingers are trickier). I like a medium coverage that looks natural. I got this in Intensity 2.0 and it's a really good match for my light olive skin. I decided on Double Wear Light after I tried the regular Double Wear and loved the longevity but it's just too thick and cakey for my tastes, esp. in warm weather. And you really need to take your time appying it, which is not my forte tbh. This however. This is kind of amazing. It has the texture of an older-school tinted moisturizer but with more coverage. I "prime" with a silicone-based sunblock and have been adding a bit of powder after primer and before foundation application to help with oil control, so my experience has been w/ that method. (I wore it 1x without the powder and I did get oily earlier, but the foundation itself did not wear off.) (Also with this method you can use less of a $42 foundation.) It's easy to apply (I use my fingers so I don't waste $42 foundation) and find I don't need too much.It lasts all day, doesn't oxidize, hasn't broken me out, and has a matte but not flatte look. It does well with my problem areas, which are sides of nose and under lip/chin - doesn't emphasize flakes or get crusty. Doesn't settle into my one problem smile line. Doesn't pool into pores, even when I get oily. Honestly, this is really great foundation and I definitely recommend it. The only con is the shade range. Packaging is an easy-to-use and spill-resistant squeezy tube.UPDATE - after about 2 weeks of wear, I stand by this review. No breakouts or irritation whatsoever. I've been mixing it 50/50 with a couple of my favorite Korean BBs and it's borderline next level this way, the best of both worlds. The EL enhances longevity and the BBs blur pores, add glow.
