Liquid -Clinique -Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup SPF 15

on 2/24/2018 4:25:00 PM

This product is a lot like the even better original. I almost can’t tell the difference. It doesn’t look glowing and thanks to the colour oxidizing, I now look dirty :(

I got the light colour, breeze. Thank goodness I got a sample of it. I wouldn’t buy this. I found its medium to full coverage heavy and drying :(

I don’t understand why Clinique can’t come out with a hydrating foundation for very fair skin? All their foundations seem to leave me very, very dry :(

Eyeliner -Clinique -Quickliner for Eyes

I tried this in Intense Ebony. Mine does not have the sponge on the opposite end. It did go on smoothly and the liner stayed put throughout my day BUT it migrated to my under-eye area (I do not line my lower lid) almost immediately. Disappointing

I really like this serum. I've been using this every night for 2 months. I see a big difference in fine lines.
My skin is definitely softer and smoother. Total win for me. Doesn't aggravate my oily aging skin. Will continue to repurchase.

Liquid -Clinique -Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer

on 2/22/2018 11:01:00 AM

I recently tried a Clinque moisturizer and was impressed, so thought I would try this foundation. Compared to Estee Lauder prices, Clinque is cheaper. I also like that the products do not have fragrances. I went to the Clinque counter to be color matched, I purchased Buttermilk.

I like the foundation does not have fragrance. The bottle is nice and sleek looking. Applied to face the formula is rather light feeling on the skin.

The applicator is odd and takes practice to use it effectively. The color was okay even after being color matched. It was slightly too yellow which is shocking because I have never been able to find a formula that goes this extreme yellow.

This might be full coverage for some people, but to me this is medium. I get better coverage with Estee Lauder. This did not cover my freckles unless I packed it on and even then 2 hours later my freckles peeked through again. You do need a separate concealer.

It does not wear as long as Estee Lauder either.

Sunscreen -Clinique -Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50

Nice but very hard to remove. As other reviewers have said, this has a nice texture, works well under makeup, and protects your skin from the sun. I use Clinique wipes to clean my face, and have found that a lot of this product is still there after doing my usual wipe and rinse. It's not advertised as water or sweat resistant, but it definitely stays on! Not a huge issue, but for me, kind of annoying.

Moisturizers -Clinique -Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

on 2/21/2018 3:49:00 PM

I have been using this moisturiser for about 2 years. I like the texture and packaging. It is pretty moisturising without being greasy and works well on my combo skin. Also as it doesn't contain fragrance it is safe for sensitive skin.

BUT I just think this moisturiser is super over-priced for what ingredients it contains - the second ingredient on the list is mineral oil and there are no nice antioxidants or anything like that. In New Zealand the 125ml container of this is $70. $70 for a plain ass mineral oil based moisturiser?! Thats a rip off. I have been buying it from the USA and paying for shipping and it still works out cheaper than buying it in store in New Zealand (its double the price in NZ even after converting NZD to USD). This moisturiser doesn't offer anything more than the Neutrogena moisturiser I can buy at the supermarket for $10, so I can no longer find a reason to spend so much on such a plain product.

My current bottle of this is going to be the last I purchase. I think I will switch to CeraVe, which at least contains some niacinamide and ceramides.

Liquid -Clinique -Even Better Makeup SPF 15

I love how this looks on my skin. It does what it says - makes it look even better. It doesn’t look like a mask and has a natural/dewy finish. I tried using a brush and a BB but they didn’t work as well as applying with my fingers works for me. I use it under my eyes and applying mu to my whole face takes under a minute. I took off a lippie because it needs to be touched up after 8 hours.

Eye Shadow -Clinique -All About Shadow Quad - Teddy Bear

I thought I'd come on here and review this because I reach for this probably 90% of the time. I love how neutral the browns are. This is the palette I grab when the palette I'm using is missing matte transition shades or a matte brow bone shade. I also use it all on it's own for a nice matte neutral look and it's my favorite to pair with a red lip. I have totally used up the matte bone shade and will definitely repurchase once I've worn down a little more of the other shades.

Treatments (Face) -Clinique -Turnaround revitalizing treatment oil

Best oil!

I can't use any moisturizing creams or gels simply because I wake up with small red dots after trying them overnight. All this time, I haven't been using any moisturizer until I read that face oils can be better than creams. I was using Clinique's Even Better Essence without irritation so I searched if they sell face oils and found this with great review... so I went to Clinique and asked for a sample. I tried some moisturizers and serums of Clinique but it failed me. Small dots still appear. When I tried this for the first time, to my surprise, this didn't gave me any dots or reaction but instead, my face looked hydrated and plumped after waking up. Since then I used this every day until I finished the sample and eventually bought the full size. My skin is better each day while using this. Women with sensitive skin should try this as well. I will always repurchase!

Good looking packaging, but does it refreshes, brightens and perks up your look? In a word, no... What it does is gives you light hydration which does not feel sticky or tacky afterwords. Not enough for dryer skins, though. Also not really sold on the cooling action of the round tip. All in all, it felt a bit meh!.

Cleansers -Clinique -Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

on 2/19/2018 4:14:00 PM

I fell down a rabbit hole of double cleansing and wanted something to precede my HG cetaphil and after reading a lot of reviews I decided on this. I began my new skincare routine by using this to remove makeup and then Cetaphil for the second cleanse, followed by Kiehl's alcohol free cucumber toner and Clinique's dramatically different moisturiser. This was the only new product added to my regimen.

My first impressions were somewhat positive, it removed my mascara (Benefit They're Real - notoriously hard to remove) easily and didn't burn my skin, however when I removed my mascara it left a greasy film over my eyes for about 10 minutes. The next time I used it I simply held the balm over my eyes to almost 'melt' it off as opposed to rubbing and this prevented the greasy film, so I was much happier. I carried on using this product for about 3 weeks until I noticed a build up of what I have since learned to be closed comedones all over my chin. I've never had a problem with CCs before, so this was new for me. As this was the only new addition to my routine I immediately stopped using it and have now been tackling my current CC problem ever since.

My makeup removing experience with this product was purely positive, I never had any remaining makeup on my cotton pad when toning, but the closed comedones really ruined my overall experience as clogged pores were not something I was hoping for. In hindsight, I may have been overly optimistic choosing an oily balm to remove makeup from my combination-oily skin.

The product itself is a thick balm (as it says on the tin) and I found myself having to swipe quite firmly to remove it from the container. It spreads quickly across the face and a little goes a long way. I understand that scents in skincare aren't necessarily a good thing, but this smells somewhat similar to grease so I personally would have preferred a slight, subtle scent to remind myself I wasn't slathering kitchen grease on my face!

In terms of packaging, I'm not a fan of having to scoop product out of a container, as this can be unhygienic (although if you wash your hands first it's never that much of a problem) and it's quite a bulky container, but it looks pretty on a bathroom shelf! The product itself is quite expensive but I imagine it will last a long time as only a small amount is actually required to thoroughly remove all makeup.

I would recommend this to people with drier skin and those that don't commonly have problems with clogged pores, but this isn't the cleanser for me, so purely due to me personal experience I have given 2 lipsticks.

Concealers -Clinique -Airbrush Concealer

Fantastic concealer for Summer and errr... mature skins. It has a creamy light formula that hides imperfections and discolouration in the undereye, without creasing. Actually, it blurs and soften the fine lines and riddles. You might need to re-aply, depending on your skin type. The colour selection is a bit limited, and though it looks sheer, it can be buildable if you need medium coverage.
