Fragrances -The Body Shop -Shea EDT

This is a very pleasant fragrance, but it's not a women's fragrance, thus the lippie off. TBS should specify that this is at least a unisex scent. I ordered it for myself, but it smells like a man's aftershave or cologne, le sad. Don't get me wrong, a very nice men's cologne, but there's no way this is a feminine scent. It it is sweet, warm and spicy smelling. Like you'd want to nuzzle a man's sweater or coat to get a nosefull. Probably what you'd call balsamic, masculine through and through. It reminds me of an old Banana Republic scent called Rosewood. I can't really go into particular notes here because actually it just smells kind of generically spicy and male, not really of shea (which actually doesn't have much of a smell). As far as silage goes, it doesn't have a lot, which is fine by me. In other words, it sticks close to the skin and does not waft around. However, it does last. I used one spritz on my cardigan sleeve and I could still smell it strongly by evening, so it's definitely long lasting, but you don't risk blasting those around with a scent cloud. A nice male scent, would not repurchase. Hope my H uses it up!

Lip Gloss -The Body Shop -Born Lippy Shimmer Lip Balm - Lychee

on 5/3/2018 11:50:00 PM

The body shop I went to was having a two for $5.00 sale or something so I got a grapefruit balm and this.

I feel like this was a good find. The shimmer is not too much and it smells great. I get complimented on it all of the time whether if its about the scent and/or how nice it looks.

It can feel a little buttery if you use a heavy hand when applying it, so remember that less is best. You can always go back and add more.

Body Scrubs -The Body Shop -Strawberry Body Polish

This is fine as a shower gel but it doesn't do much as a body polish or exfoliator - it's definitely lacking in grittiness. I like TBS products in general, and I like the strawberry scent in particular, but this won't be a repurchase for me. I do like that it's in a tube and so is easier to use than scrubs in tubs.

Shampoo -The Body Shop -Ginger Shampoo Normal/Dry hair and Loose Dandruff

My acquaintance had this shampoo when I slept over and I used it twice. Both times in total different time spans, I lost so much hair when I showered which is rare for my hair, so I do not recommend at all.

Masks -The Body Shop -Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask

Cannot live without this! I wasn’t expecting it to do wonders but it really exceeded my expectations. Your skin will feel refreshed and illuminated after using this mask. And the effect is lasting if you use it on a regular basis. I like to put a moderate layer on the skin and use as per instructed. Once it’s done, I’ll add a little bit of water to the skin and exfoliate gently while slowly rinsing it off.

Masks -The Body Shop -Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow mask

This product is great if you have deep pores with blackheads. I have a hard time clearing my blackheads to the point where when I use pore stips no blackheads come out. That being said when I first bought this product I used it three days in a row. My pores are now clear and my complexion has gotten brighter! This mask has a high content of tea tree oil so it has a very strong scent that is delicious but the fumes make you squint as you apply the mask. I recommend using the brush that you can buy because a little goes a long way with it. I predict getting at least 25 masks out of the bottle.

Toners -The Body Shop -Aloe Calming Toner

BROKE ME OUT!!! I do not have sensitive skin, nor do I have any other skin conditions. However, after using this toner for a month, i started to get red bumps on the areas where I had been using it. At first it was fine, then slowly I started developing texture on my skin leading to bumps then small pimples. I was shocked!! My skin is always clear with the exception of a few pimples here and there. Right off the bat, I knew it has to be one of the products I had been using. To counteract the pimples, I used more and more of this toner thinking it could fix this and the worse it got to the point where I could not recognize my skin anymore(some patches where toner was heavily used). Anyway, I had a feeling it was a toner that I was using since I was using this along with the First Aid Beauty facial radiance pads. I stopped using the radiance pads as that had more ingredients listed, however the problem persisted. I looked at the TBS aloe toner ingredients that has merely 6 ingredients listed. So, i started googling the product for reviews and found A LOT of girls complaining about the same exact reaction they got from this product.
Immediately, i went and washed my face and slabbed on tons of Aloe Vera gel which fixed the problem by the next morning. AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!!

This product is not bad, but its not good either. Like its almost the only thing from the body shop without any oil/greasy medium, but it somehow still managed to leave my skin all greased up, it literally feels like ive rubbed a whole butter bar all over my face. Still, didnt cause me ANY pimples. Too expensive.

Lip Gloss -The Body Shop -Liquid Lip Color (all)

I have this (Matte Lip liquid) in Paris 022. It is a good pink color and smells really good. But it does not stay on at all. Totally disappears from my lips after 1 hour and have to reapply again. Even though i like the color so much I will not repurchase again.

Toners -The Body Shop -Vitamin E Hydrating Toner

This is a really good product! Overall I don't really like toners, but this one is worthy. It has no smell which is great for me because I tend not to like skincare products with any smell in it. The price of the product is ok and is a really good product: hydrates and cleans your face and is really light. I think anyone should give it a try - even oily skins.

Primer/ Corrector -The Body Shop -Vitamin c skin reviver

on 4/17/2018 8:59:00 AM

I have used this product since it was first released (previously under the name of Skin Boost) and have loved it so much, I've never stopped using it. I think that's been for about 10 years. I'm please to say this product is VEGAN and The Body Shop does not sell in China and have a completely 0 animal testing policy.

I have dry skin and I use this product after my moisturiser, as a makeup primer, because it enables me to work with/blend my foundation. Once I've set my foundation, I do not have any slip or slide of my makeup throughout the day. I would however, imagine this would be a problem for anyone with normal to oily skin.

PRICE: I would say this runs middle of the road (RRP £17) when compared against other serums and primers.

PACKAGING: Simple pump bottle which is easy to use and ensures that every drop of the product is used. One pump is sufficient for my entire face and jawline.

SCENT: Nice citrus smell.

FEEL: a soft, velvety feel when applied but without feeling greasy or that there is a film of product on your skin

Body Scrubs -The Body Shop -dead sea scrub

I really wanted to like this, tried it on in the shop. Perhaps I got a dudd, then again hands have a different skin texture to rest of body. There is nothing to endear me to this product, quite the opposite. The fragrance is so strong while it’s lovely to begin it becomes cloy and heavy. The big scrub bits are useless to scrub. They are pretty harsh but hardly do any damage because they flick off easily anyway. The base lotion is so heavy in oil and minerals I felt like I was slathering greasy butter over me not scrubbing. It held promises of hydration. Stepping out of shower can feel the moisturiser .. 1 hour after and my skin is squeaking dry and feels weird, not moisturised but like a plastic coating on top. Is it the minerals? It did nothing but make me itch. I had to go back and shower it off. And realise my towel has this coating too. I only used a small almond size amount for the whole body too! On another occasion when I realise scrubs bits falling off, I had dug in tub to get more scrub bits to scrub. Major mistake, felt like I was wearing a body suit after. I have dry skin and moisturiser and body oils just sink in within seconds. This is just weird stuff that sits on top making skin feel drier. I personally don’t like tubs for scrubs, water gets in and it’s gets grotty in the shower. Such a ware of money. I gave it 4 attempts because I thought maybe needs a cooler climate. Wrong. Each 4 x I hated it and regret using it and wasting good money on this.

Foundations -The Body Shop -Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation

My go to foundation is the Dior Diorskin nude air serum. I know these foundations are nothing alike, but Ive been testing all sorts of foundations for something with more coverage and would be good over time (and the summer) for my oily, acne-prone skin. I got a generous amount of this tester from the body shop and had really high hopes for it. It has a bit of a scent to it which I don't mind. It is a full coverage foundation, and can go on a bit thick, but I realized after I few uses that I didn't need the amount I was using. Unfortunately, it oxidizes very quickly and really settled into my pores, even with mousturizer and primer. What ultimately disappointed me was that it dried out my skin, but in all the wrong places. It would patch up on my cheeks, which is an area that has always been baby soft and oil/acne free. After a week of using the product, my cheeks would retain those dry patches even with the makeup off. As for the parts that are oily, it would stay matte longer than most products, but was much too heavy for my acne. It would emphasize spots where I have acne and scarring, and didn't do much for healing them. I would stick with serum foundations as they are able to let my skin breath and acne heal faster. I really wanted to like the product especially after reading the reviews. Unfortunately, I will not be using this product again or recommending it to anyone.
