Lipstick -L'Oreal -L'Oreal COLOR RICHE Collection Exclusive Pure Reds - Blake's Red 402

on 7/12/2018 7:20:00 PM

foto

I tracked this down because of a recent tutorial on YouTube. A person with an olive skin tone used this red. That usually means it will look striking on my complexion as well. I love a red with blue in it and some punch. This brings it all to me. So I went to Wal Mart in search of the color named Blake’s Red but looks like they call it matte-vocate red. Just letting you guys know it is still available everywhere. I may get a backup. I love the floral smell of these lipsticks but I normally wear the creams, this is my first foray into their mattes. This is not drying like Mac ruby woo and it is the drugstore dupe. Adequately pigmented and you can also build it up. I like this as you may just want to dab for a wash or go all out and snatch souls in these steets, nah mean? I will certainly repurchase.

Mascara -L'Oreal -L'Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara Primer

on 7/12/2018 6:16:00 PM

I heard about Paradise Mascara on my favourite YouTuber's video, she was raving it so much, so much so that it made me really curious about these mascaras. I already have a favorite top-coat mascara (Clinique), so purchased this primer instead of mascara. So far I'm very happy with the result - it gives fuller longer lashes I always wanted. Be aware though that you have to take time to cover all the white bits so it is not exactly a quick apply & I found it works better not to apply from the loot of my lashes but apply from the middle to the top only to add more length.

Cleansers -L'Oreal -L'Oreal Paris Extraordinary Oil Cleansing Oil

on 7/12/2018 6:06:00 PM

I used to use Shu Uemura's cleansing oil but it's really pricey & not sold everywhere else which makes it rather inconvenient, so I was looking for something more affordable but similar effect. This really does that. It removes all of my makeup with no hustle, and keep the skin clean but not dry. I usually apply 2 pushes on my dry full-on makeup face, and gently massage it on till I feel the oil gets slightly lighter (about 30sec). Then wash all away with warm water & all done. A bottle lasts over a month for everyday use, and I've already used 5 bottles. Will keep on using this one until I find something better with similar price tag.

Hair Color -L'Oreal -Root Cover Up Temporary Grey Concealer Spray

foto

I dye my hair black my roots are white.Of course within 2 weeks the roots are already showing and progressively looking worse.I guess black is the easiest color to match. The spray does look quiet matte. My hair isn't very shiny so it's not a problem. After a shampoo the roots are still pretty well covered. I usually go about 2 months before I dye my roots again. So this product is definitely something I like to have around. Only complaint is it's a bit expensive.

Concealers -L'Oreal -Touche Magique Dark Circle Concealer

I had a high expectation after reading all the nice reviews here - unfortunately this wasn't for me it seems. Even though I applied pore mattifying base beforehand, this concealer managed to fall into every single pores on my nose making sure they are all visible. I'm also not so keen on this applicator - the concealer cream comes up at the bottom of the brush bits, so I have to pick that up with my finger to apply.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal -Smokissime super liner

on 7/12/2018 5:59:00 AM

This Loreal smokissime super liner comes in a handy tube with a foam applicator and plenty of product in the lid. I picked it up from the £0.99 on the cosmetics fairy website, so it couldn’t have been any cheaper!

The liner is easy to apply and longwearing, the foam applicator is more precise than it looks, bearing in mind this is for a smoked out line. Don’t try and use it as an eyeshadow though, it doesn’t blend easily once you put it down, as demonstrated here:

Bronzers -L'Oreal -Glam Bronze La Terra Healthy Glow Palette

on 7/12/2018 5:51:00 AM

This mini “glam bronze” palette by Loreal is a round compact split into 4 colour sections- beige, fawn, peach and red.

First of all, I think it’s designed for Lighter skin tones, so overall it didn’t really work for me.

It’s described as a radiant complexion powder. The formula is light and slightly mattifying, which is useful for me as I have oily skin. I wasn’t sure if you are meant to use the colours seperately or not. I used the colours seperately to set different areas of my face and add blush with the peach/red tones..

I didn’t find this product to be especially long wearing.. but I think it’s fine for shoving in your handbag and doing touch ups...?

Anyway, watch me try it in a no brushes/asmr challenge here!

Mascara -L'Oreal -Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof

I really like this for the volume & length it provides, even with just one coat. Prob. the best mascara I've ever used in terms of length & volume, I mean you can get some seriously fake-eyelash-looking results (in a good way) if you use a couple coats. Yes, the brush is a bit big and wonky, but the actual design of it is awesome and that's what helps create the length and volume. They just need to make it a bit smaller/thinner. I am not a fan of lashes that stick together, I like each lash to be separate, so I use a long safety pin to separate them after applying the mascara. This stuff dries pretty quickly so you have to work fast.
It does a great job of holding curl all throughout the day, NO flaking at all, and very little smudging under the eye. It stays kind of sticky on your lashes after drying, so if you use a couple of coats your lashes may end up sticking together towards the end of the day. I try not to use too much and never touch my lashes during the day. I wear contacts and it does not bother my eyes in the least.
Yes, it is a bit more difficult to remove than some other waterproof mascaras, but that can be a good thing in some situations. I do not use makeup remover and I'm still able to get most all of it off after washing my face twice, which I do anyway.
Biggest issue I have is that it's not "aging" well. When the product was brand new I really didn't have an issue with clumping or mess because it was a nice consistency and applied easily. However, after using for about 3 weeks I notice the product is drying out and getting a lot clumpier and messier, and much more difficult to apply. It's taking me a lot longer to get a good application, and I hate spending a lot of time messing with my makeup. I can tell I will have to toss this tube in another couple of weeks, well before the actual product is actually used up, and purchase another fresh tube. However, if I can get this on sale I can justify replacing more often.
EDIT 7/20/18- Well, after another week or so this mascara has become pretty much unusable to me, even though I've only used prob not even half of it. It is now so thick and gunky that when I apply it my lashes all stick together and are full of clumps. It's so "sticky" on my lashes now that I cant even separate them with a safety pin, and forget trying to remove the clumps it's just not possible. I have to move this to my "won't buy again" list unfortunately. What a disappointment. Back to Covergirl Clump Crusher I go.

Mascara -L'Oreal -Voluminous Million Lashes

on 7/9/2018 9:29:00 PM

foto

It was a wet, clustered and flaking mess, brand new, upon first opening it and pulling out the wand. This mascara is gravely overhyped and talked up, because I don't see the pay off. Beautiful packaging, nice brush for separating and splitting clumped lashes but otherwise there isn't any remarkable volume, lengthening or drama to the lashes.

Mascara -L'Oreal -Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

foto

My lashes are short and blonde so it gives me enormous length and volume. My lashes separate well with this mascara which is so important to me because I have bald spots. The packaging is so cute since pink in my favourite colour. I do sometimes find fallout or smudging when it's the end of the day but to me it's not a big deal. It usually happens if you've worn it from morning till night and a good wipe from the finger gets rid of it all. It's currently my favourite mascara.

Styling Products -L'Oreal -Mythic Oil

on 7/9/2018 12:36:00 PM

I have tried the Mythic Oil and on a superficial level I would say I loved it: I have super dry, coarse hair and it managed to tame it, give it shine and hydrate it, make it more manageable.

BUT

if you look closely and with a more educated eye at the ingredient list you're not going to be happy at all.
it has 6 HIGH RISK fragrance ingredients (fragrance is usually no-no because it has great irritation potential) so it's formulation is really not that luxurious, as the ingredients aren't exactly okay.

Now I'm using Kerastase Ultimate Oil which has a way more cleaner ingredient list (not to mention safer and high-quality) but the price is according to that as well: double than the Mythic Oil with similar effects (Kerastase a bit better, however, in terms of texture, lightness and hydration).

Mixed feelings about this product because of the ingredient list...

Liquid -L'Oreal -True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17

foto

I have used this foundation for years off and on. I finally made the decision to not repurchase, I am sick of this foundation making me look like a grease ball! I already have an oily T-zone and I have noticed this foundation cannot withstand an oily face at all. I apply it in the morning for work and not even two hours later I have to use a blotting sheet. I just switched to Revlon Colorstay and I have not had to blot my face this morning at all, such a massive difference in those foundations. The Loreal color selection is great but I have always worn the shade W4 and the color oxidizes so my face looks more pink/red than my neck even though I am wearing a "warm" shade. Good news is (and why I used for so long) it never broke me out and did provide ample coverage however, I would not recommend to anybody with oily skin or even combination skin as you will have to blot your face at least 4-5 times a day.
