For reference, I have very dry and acne-prone skin that is generally not sensitive. I have had mixed results using The Ordinary's products before - while the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, Salicylic Acid 2% Solution, and Advanced Retinoid 2% have all worked well, my skin reacted badly to Buffet (gave me a chemical burn) and the Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% made my skin very dry and seemed to make my dry flaky patches almost chunky rather than clearing them. So I approached this product with some trepidation, although I was hopeful as my skin really likes AHA products. This peel has a reddish colour, and once applied it looks a bit like you've rubbed blood onto your face. It's fun if you want to give your flatmate a fright. It feels slightly viscous, and once applied it is slightly sticky to the touch. It barely has a smell, and only if you really get your nose up close to the bottle. I couldn't smell it once it was applied to my skin, so people with sensitive noses should be okay with this. Upon application I got a slight stinging sensation, but it went away almost immediately. I kept it on for 10 minutes, during which I didn't even remember that I had it on. I didn't feel anything - no stinging, no tightness, no dryness. After washing it off my moisturiser went on as usual and that was the end of that. I was actually a little disappointed, as I was expecting a more prickly sensation like I get with the Paula's Choice Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% AHA. Once I washed off the product, my skin felt smoother and no drier than before. I noticed that my moisturiser went on nicely and my skin looked bright with no redness. The next day, my skin still felt smooth and my acne seems to have improved a little. No super amazing results, but an improvement that was easy to achieve.Overall I think this is a gentle, nice product to use that has nice results, although I wouldn't call it a miracle product or even a very hard-working product. But this is just my experience with my skin, and results will vary for everyone. For the price, I think it's worth trying out. Just make sure to patch test first.

Awful :( had high hopes for this after loving some of the ordinary products already and following and trusting Wayne Goss. However this just irritated my skin, made it red, dry and itchy. Also caused a few painful under the skin spots that took days to reduce and left angry red marks behind. Only upside is the price as it’s cheap enough to take the risk with it.

This is the best acid peel I've come across so far. My skin is very uneven and I have quite prominent acne scaring. I've tried salycilic and glycolic acid in the past in varying concentrations, and while I think my skin has gone as far as it can with peels, I feel this did the most for me. To be honest I haven't used it consistently enough to have any marked improvement but given my experience in peels I feel confident in weighing this versus other products. I wasn't sure what to expect of the 30% concentration, but I find it's great for a once a week/fortnight peel. It'll smooth out texture issues and makeup will glide beautifully on it the next day, but it's not strong enough for me to have an ugly recovery phase where my skin is red, sensitive, has that thin/wrecked-feeling or is obviously damaged. I've seen others suggest the liquorice extract has a calming effect which is why it's not as painful as other similar concentrations of AHA's. I can't attest to that as I know nothing about the science behind the ingredients, but for some reason it feels more gentle while still providing the results I'd expect at that percent.Something to note is that the product is coloured bright red. When wearing the peel it kind of looks like you've smeared blood on your face in a frenzy. It doesn't stain though, and makes it easier to tell where you're applying (it can be easy to miss spots or apply unevenly, so it's helpful). The downside to this is that you can't tell if you're having a reaction when wearing it (you won't be able to tell if your skin is going blotchy or red until you take it off) so I'd patch test if you're a beginner. If you're looking for a peel at about 30% I'd definitely recommend this. It's my first product from The Ordinary and it's left a great impression.

I bought this product for 2 reasons only: 1. I have tried many things from The Ordinary and wanted to see what the next step up is like. 2. It was on sale at CVS online where I would be getting it for $30, and that includes free shipping. A product that costs $38 an oz plus shipping and/or tax is too expensive for me, but I wanted try it once though so I would have something to compare, and this was the perfect time.PROS: Doesn't really do anything "bad" for the skin and the texture is great. It is a thicker watery product which absorbs pretty quickly and isn't too tacky once it's dried. I have very little time in the morning to get ready and this was the perfect product to layer with... I can't use anything greasy or oily in nature because I don't have the time to wait for layers to dry, and my skin in general has products sit on top of it too.CONS: I feel like you could go through it quickly given it's texture, but it's not too bad. Also, the packaging is too large and wasteful from an eco perspective.OTHER: I did some more of my own research on this product aside from what Deciem says. The product is really aimed at promoting, supporting, and helping collagen of the skin. The Matrixyl used is a newer form and the Antarctic and Hawaiian Algae Complex also promote collagen.I really think I'm not the kind of candidate for this product seeing as I was only 27 when I used it, though I did enjoy it and would return to it if it was a bit cheaper. It has 43% actives and also doubles as a hyaluronic acid serum too, so the price isn't terrible considering what you are getting. It was great in my routine with The Ordinary's Ascorbyl Glucoside too, as they are both lightweight. I'm giving it 3 stars.

Pretty decent product for the price! Seems to have helped my dark circles [thank you painsomnia and Fibromyalgia] a bit. I only use it at night and since the weather has been cold, have put a tiny touch of either Kiehl's Avacado Eye Cream or castor oil over it. No milia, no allergic reactions and a brighter eye area. Will repurchase but it's going to be a loooong time as I'm not using this twice a day every day.

Like the poster below me, I too have a bad reaction to the high levels of niacinamide in this product. It's simply too much for my skin to handle and it breaks me out in rash-like acne that is difficult to treat. I say definitely do a patch test with this stuff before applying it to your entire face. I love the Ordinary and other products of theirs are hg status for me! Too bad this didn't work for me.

This stuff is the devil! Clearly my skin reacts poorly to Niacinamide because this product felt like it ruined my skin for an annoying length of time. After one use, my skin became rough in texture in a rash like fashion. And while I can normally fix my skin on my own, I had to seek out professional care to try and fix the mess this caused. It took about a month of TLC and being extra gentle before I was back to normal but I'm steering clear of niacinamide from now on. I should add I had a sneaking suspicion I had issues with this ingredient after using a product that contained it some years ago and experiencing some irritation but nothing like this time. Great price and reputation of the brand. This was just not for me.

I decided to wait until I finished my bottle before writing a review. Overall, I'm neutral on this. It does moisturise my sensitive skin without irritation, but it doesn't make a noticeable difference to my redness or sensitivity. It's just like a standard humectant serum. I probably won't re-purchase.

As a girl with some serious issues with skin congestion and breakouts, The Ordinary cold-pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil is a godsend for me. I generally abstain from oils and even most serums because they are just too heavy on my skin and cause me to immediately break out. This is very frustrating for me since I also have dry skin that can get very dehydrated without that extra boost of moisturization. I've found that this is the best oil to use on my skin to improve hydration and reduce pigmentation. I use it at night as my last step before I go to bed, or during the day if I'm at home with the heat on all day as that can really wreak havoc on my skin. I will be totally honest, this oil doesn't feel light to me at all, although rose hip is generally understood to be a lighter oil molecularly. It feels rather greasy when you first apply it and has a distinct fish oil scent. This doesn't bother me personally, but some may be averse since it doesn't have that elegant feel and scent. When I wake up the next morning though, I always notice that my skin feels more hydrated, bouncy and glowy that the previous day. I also have never experienced a breakout from this oil, which is a huge bonus for me. Overall I do recommend this oil for those with dehydrated yet acne-prone skin. It is of course beneficial as well for dark spots, sun damage and/or hyperpigmentation, however be known that it will take time for this type of oil to work for that type of skin issue. For myself, I do have a lot of scarring on my face due to prior acne, and while this oil doesn't really seem to significantly diminish this type of scar, it does help for more recent acne.

Love everything about this product. I've been using it for 4 months in my morning routine under mineral sunblock. My acne didn't flare up, and my skin feels clean, healthy and hydrated. I love the smell but my husband doesn't so I guess not for everyone. I plan on using this for a long time, absolute favoutite.

This is a very high quality, low-priced face oil that is comparable to some of the more high end oils that I usually purchase. My favourite go to face oil is my Josie Maran Argan oil, so this is the basis of my review. This has a very nice rose scent and sinks in quite quickly into my skin, so it layers quick well under makeup. It’s not as thick as the Josie Maran, but I would definitely consider purchasing this in the summer. For the winter months, this is just not emollient enough for my parched skin. Right now, I need to pull out everything in my cabinet to keep my skin hydrated at night.

I’ve been using HA serum for years. An esthetician recommended it for my skin and scar during cancer treatment and it was very hard to find!
I used Skinceuticals and liked it but not the price. Since then I’ve tried MUAC, SubQ, PC and they all seem ok with less variation among them than other products like C serum.
When I recovered from my illness, I used HA mostly after at-home peels and when my very sensitive combo skin is parched. I like the texture, the ease of application and hygienic dropper and the lack of side effects- no breakouts or irritation. What I cannot affirm is how effective this (or any other HA) is. It feels nice, but the effect is subtle.

I like this product quite a lot, especially considering how inexpensive it is. It makes my skin *very* soft and I can definitly tell that my skin is exfoliated. And that soft feeling lasts for a couple of days. Also, my foundation applies so beautifully the days after I use this peeling. The one problem I have with this is that it is very intense. Granted, I do expect some tingling with such a product and my skin is definitely not sensitive. However, with this product my skin literally burns the first minute after I apply it. It's almost unbearable. After the first minute though it gets better: then it tingles and doesn't burn. I don't think I'm allergic to it as I don't have any symptoms after using this product. It's just the first minute after applying it that is *very* uncomfortable..

The Ordinary's Niacinamide and Zinc Serum is an affordable gel-like liquid that contains a proven blemish fighter in the ingredient niacinamide and an unproven zinc. The research is definitely limited in terms of zinc's benefits to skin and blemish fighting powers. I love that this is fragrance free and affordable. I've been using this morning and night but for anyone that hasn't used niacinamide before definitely start out slow because it can cause a little bit of a sting until your skin gets used to it. I did notice a bit of a purging period after I began using it but after that I think this really helped my skin prevent breakouts. This does dry pretty tacky so you might want to follow with another serum or moisturizer. My more detailed review is here:

This is a mud mask but its nothing special. Despite the science reading nicely, the best thing about this is that its quite fine so only a small amount is needed, does a decent job drawing out impurities. I have quite resilient skin and tolerate acids, retinol, etc very well however I found this painful to use and far too harsh. It did subside slightly however no beauty product that does not produce amazeball results, should be painful. I cannot see any long lasting benefits and why stinging in needed. As such, I do not recommend this. Aesop Primrose Mask is still the best which i always go back to. Its not a pleasant experience to use this, its neither comforting nor soothing, so after half the jar, it went in the trash.
