i started with the 5% as this is my first time using lactic acid, and had some success with it so i decided to move up to the 10% when i finished my bottle.
Now the 10% just gave the same benefits but x100. My skin is ALWAYS baby soft now, and makeup applies way better. I am extremely happy with this product to yhe point where when i order i buy two so i have a backup!
i do suggest starting with the 5% to make sure your skin agrees with this stuff before jumping right into the 10%

I was so afraid to try this product, as I've tried glycolic products before and they have caused raging breakouts and redness. My skin has been in a decent place lately, so I decided to dive in a try this product. So glad I did! I use it only at night, it is a tad tacky but not gross and for me the tackiness doesn't last. I swear this has helped my skin, more glowy and helps combat blackheads and little breakouts. For the price, this is an amazing product. Definitely will repurchase.

A pretty decent mineral sunscreen containing 14% zinc oxide and 5.44% titanium dioxide which at under $10 CAN I feel is very good value for money considering the extra benefits such as antioxidants. It’s initially thick and grayish out of the tube but blends in after a minute or two and didn't look too shiny. I was able to apply my foundation over top easily with no problems such as pilling. (I use the Physicians Formula Healthy Skin applied with a damp sponge). The only con I found was that it was quite drying throughout the day, as many sunscreens containing zinc oxide are. I solved this problem by applying a few drops of The Ordinary Marula oil before my moisturizer and sunscreen and was then able to wear the sunscreen comfortably throughout my 12 hour day. My skin is mature, normal to slightly dry. Also, I was very impressed by the fast order processing and shipping time. I placed my order on a Thursday night and received it the following Monday, despite the fact their site said to allow 10 days for order processing due to high order volumes. It probably helps that I'm located in Toronto where their warehouse is.

This product is amazing and words can’t express how happy I am to have finally found something that works for my hyperpigmentation, complexion, and texture. For starters, I use it every other day even though they suggest only using it 2-3 times a week. My skin is able to tolerate it and I moisturize really well after every use. When you first apply it, it doesn’t sting but it does cause this hot sensation on your face. The feeling goes away after about 5 minutes so it’s not that bad.OK SO FOR THE RESULTS OF THIS AMAZING POTION:After 3 weeks of use, 80% of my hyperpigmentation scarring has completely dissapeared, and 20% has drastically lightened. The pores on my cheeks, nose, and forehead have tightened. My skin is glowing, and I’m actually getting compliments on my skin again. It’s been YEARS since I got a compliment on my skin! I used to have a lot of clogged pores and blackheads on my nose, but that problem has stopped. The days after using this are the best skin days for me because my skin is so smooth and radiant. This has seriously been a game changer for me and that fact that it’s so incredibly cheap is crazy to me. You need this in your life.

Using this as a serum didn't do anything for me, not for pores and not for oiliness. However, when using on the odd blemish, it does help to flatten and calm down, however if you dab too much it will be visible as a white smudge once dried, which you can get away with overnight, but during the day - not so much! Previously I was using Paula's Choice Glycolic 10% but this was too harsh for bumps behind the ears/back of neck, it would irritate them more, unlike The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc which is gentle enough for sensitive areas. For this alone I would re-purchase.Selena x~ My HG list ~(I've sampled 100s of skin, hair and m/u products over the last decade and a half, as I love trying out new stuff all the time - usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora. I used this product religiously for 8 months, and it did absolutely nothing for my skin. Truth be told, I used much of the whole NIOD line with it, (LVCE, CAIS, FECC, Re:Pigment, MMHC, ELAN, NECC, Hydration Vaccine) and my skin looked old and tired. Now all I use on a clean face is the FECC, Re:Pigment, and ELAN (C serum) with German Nivea on top at night and sunblock during the day. I’ll also use The Ordinary 7% Glycolic toner at night a few times a week. My skin looks great.

Love this. I rotate a lot of Ordinary products in my routine but this and their Vit C in silicone I will forever keep around. I had no idea what this was at first tbh. I came across a rave review, as one does, and picked it up on my next 'routine' order. It's less than $7. According to the Ordinary's website, ALA is a "highly potent antioxidant and can restore a renewed skin appearance, improving visible skin texture and tone when applied topically." Packaging is the typical Ordinary dropper bottle, and apparently 5% is a high percentage of ALA, since you're advised to use sparingly, apply only at night and not in conjuction with exfoliants/actives, and to use sun protection. My experience: I honestly can't tell what this does (is it an active? does it promote cell turnover? is it rebuilding my cells from the ground up? idk) but my skin always looks fresh and dewy as a daisy the morning after an ALA night. I've been using it for about a month, and my skin looks great. I do notice that the effect seems semi-permanent, as in I feel I will have to keep using it forever to maintain this level of progress, but that could just be psychological lol. I don't find it too harsh, but my skin isn't sensitive to strong products. I've even used it on the same nights as my other big guns stuff, and while I didn't notice any adverse reactions, I try not to make that a habit. I use about 3-4 drops—it feels oily, kind of weird, doesn't smell great (but then again show me an Ordinary product that smells good and I'll eat my hat), and spreads/absorbs into skin more easily than you think it will. It can tingle a bit, especially the first few times you use it, but it's never burned or reddened my skin. And like I said, my skin is so happy with me in the morning.I moisturize over this with a HA serum and rosehip oil. No dryness, flakes, or irritation.

I've used a number of different facial oils over the years, including jojoba oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and rose hip oil. Jojoba oil was my go-to for many years until my skin became more prone to dryness. It's probably partly age, and partly the heating system in my current home, but in the last few years battling dryness and flakes has been the tougher part of dealing with my combination skin.I'm on my second bottle of The Ordinary Squalane, and I went through my first one in the winter when my skin is at its peak of dryness, so I've definitely put this product to the test. I put off reviewing this though because tbh, while I like it a lot, I don't have a ton to say about it. The Ordinary Squalane didn't make my skin glow or anything. I don't need to spend a ton of time extolling its many benefits, because for me it does one thing very, very effectively: keep away dry skin. In the period of time between when I used up my first bottle and when I ordered my second one, I was using other moisturizers (moisturizers that I have always liked) and definitely noticed my skin was more flaky and dry. That was when I knew for sure I had to repurchase. TO Squalane also does not make me break out, cause irritation, or break the bank. The cons are because it's an oil that I wouldn't exactly classify as light, it's a nighttime moisturizer only for me. However, you could probably get away with it in the daytime if you use a very light hand. I personally like to slather it on at night, leaving my skin oily and shiny and let it work its magic as it absorbs until morning. I'm also not a fan of bringing a glass dropper bottle while I travel, so I keep this one at home and use The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors when I'm on the road.

Results. I use this about once a week and it makes a huge difference. I only use at night after I have cleansed and I use rose water before I apply. Just place a few drops in your hands and gently pat onto skin. It feels slightly oily, but absorbs in a few minutes. There is sometimes a slight tingle, too. My skin looks incredible in the morning. Use a good sunblock. There is a slightly odd smell, too. I will buy again and again.

I have over half of the products TO carries and this one is my favorite. There is nothing like it. I have used high end and mid range products including chemical peels. This peeling solution is VERY effective; I have found it to be as or more effective as a 30 glycolic acid peel without the sting. There is a tolerable tingle. I get my face squeaky clean and dry before applying. Leave on 10 minutes and splash off several times. I follow with a serum and moisturizer. Highly recommend if you want soft, glowing skin. My pores appear smaller, too. It is dirt cheap. I have purchased 3 bottles and gave one to a friend who is now hooked on it,

This product has a rough, gritty texture that doesn't play nicely with other layers. And maybe I haven't been using it consistently enough, but I have yet to notice a difference in my skin -- no brightening, no quicker PIH fading, no help with acne, nothing. Now I don't mind weird textures or tingling/stinging feelings as long as a treatment is going to do something to improve my appearance, but this never did. I think vitamin C just isn't for me. Oh, well -- at least I found out trying something cheap!

I’m on my third (fourth?) bottle of Buffet. Though not initially blown away by it, over the last year I’ve grown quite fond of it’s dewy moisturizing goodness. I now use it every day because I’ve come to trust it and in these humid months it’s perfect alone under my makeup and before bed with or without other moisturizers/retinols/oils/wiitchcraft rituals. I find it less sticky than my original bottle. I’m not sure if I’m just used to it if if the formula has been tweaked, but either way I generally am only bothered by a tacky finish when it pills under makeup which this does not for me. It mixes beautifully with the vitamin C formulas and is, in my opinion a worthwhile addition to a skincare regime. It’s true that it’s the most expensive (to my knowledge) of all Ordinary products. I always laugh at myself in these situations because everything is relative. It’s like hestitating to buy a phone app for $1.99. I’ve spent more money on (one single) skincare product(s) in the past than I even want to admit, yet in The Ordinary arena this seems costly. But it’s not. At all.

You guys... wow.I have had professional peels and microderms prior and I heard the hype around The Ordinary. Thought I'd try to save some money as a good micro in Aus can be $120 and up and this little fellow was going for about $12.I bought this from Beauty Bay along with 2 other skincare serums. I used for 2nd time last night. My skin generally is good and I don't get much acne. I'm very fair (snow white style) but I get redness and uneven skin around TOTM. Now in my 30s I was getting enlarged pores near nose/tzone.ALL GONE. My face feels like silk. I am literally making my husband touch it. The pores are nearly gone and have seen significant reduction in the deep/ problematic ones. Fine lines- nope. I find myself looking at my own skin trying to see issues but there are none. (Who is the fairest? Dass you *point to mirror) Love it!I felt mild tingling but no burning or pain.Have recommended to my Mum to use asap.I will never give this up!

I am very disappointed. This is very sticky and doesn't seem to hydrate my skin (dehydrated) at all, in fact it makes it feel even more tight and uncomfortable. I was aware that it may not be as hydrating as say the NIOD or Hylamide serums, however I was willing to give it a try given the amazing price. Unfortunately, I think in this case you get what you pay for. I am going to mix it in with body creams so I use it up, however won't be applying it to my face or re-purchasing it in the future

I bought this as I had heard it was good for reducing sensitivity. However, I cannot bring myself to put it on my face as it smells absolutely repulsive - gone-off raw meat. I tried applying it to my hand to see if the smell would go away, but it lasted for a solid 20-30mins. I am annoyed that I purchased this, even though the price is very reasonable, because I will never EVER use it. The packaging is also annoying as the dropper leaks even when you don't squeeze it
