Mascara -Clinique -High Impact Mascara

on 11/30/2017 11:46:00 PM

This is just okay. Definitely not HG material.

1. Buildable to nice full lashes. (For reference, I am all about dramatic, OTT lashes. Everyday lash look is not for me.) I haven't achieved HG drama with this product, but have got enough volume to say it has good buildability.
2. Does not smudge. Caution: It does flake slightly though, but not so much to be a huge deal breaker.
3. Does not clump excessively. Personally, to get max oomph, I do build mascara, so for me minor clumping is normal. However, it is nothing so much that cannot be combed out using a clean spoolie/lash brush.

1. BRUSH! I always poke myself in the eye with it!
2. Even if a little goes inside my eyes - OMG IT BURNNNSS! So, removing it is an issue as it always gets into my eyes during removal and I can't take it anymore.

Won't buy it again. Although, it does its job for darkening and volumizing lashes (lengthening is only average), the brush and formula hurts my eyes.

Moisturizers -Clinique -Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

I've wanted to love this cream for a long time, but we have finally broken up. I've purchased it on and off for the past few years, ever time winter starts to take a particularly brutal toll on my skin. But I have never found it to actually be moisturizing, in fact, it usually just makes my skin look incredibly shiny and oily, without actually sinking in. I've tried using more or less product, waiting to apply it to completely dry skin, spreading it in the thinnest possible layer, etc. Still, it just sort of sits there, and when I use it at night, I tend to wake up with kind of dry, kind of dull skin. Not really what I'm looking for. In warmer or more humid weather, it works in a pinch. I think it could be a decent cream for someone with easier skin than mine, or maybe who is naturally more prone to oily skin (or doesn't get flaky-dry in the winter). I didn't throw my most recent jar out, but I don't really plan on using it very often. I'm also never a big fan of face creams in jars, just as a side note. Yes, they look prettier, but they're less hygienic.

Moisturizers -Clinique -Moisture Surge Intense

on 11/30/2017 9:24:00 PM

This is my favorite moisturizer and I have combination/dry sensitive skin. The smell is similar to alcohol but I don’t find it offensive. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin but it does sting my eyes. It is very hydrating and I tend to like heavier feeling moisturizers. However, I do find that it takes quite a while to absorb. So for the first hour it feels like it’s just sitting in my face. But that feeling goes away eventually. I like that by the the end of the work day my skin doesn’t feel dry — feels normal. I don’t like that it’s in an unhygienic tub and I wish it were cheaper.

Liquid -Clinique -Superbalanced Foundation

on 11/30/2017 11:47:00 AM

Never have I found a foundation that does it all for me. This stuff is magic in a bottle (for me anyway.) I purchased the shade VF-N in 02 Silk Shell, 1oz for $22. Had a $5 off coupon.

I have extremely fair skin, with freckles and fine lines and red capillaries starting to show around my nose and eyelids. I flush all over very easily, for anything. My skin is dry and oily. Problematic! Most foundations look cakey, do not moisturize and accentuate my dry patches, oxidize, settle into my lines, break me out, breakdown in a few hours or just have the wrong undertones for my very fair-neutral skin. This stuff did none of that.

When I put it on, it is calming and soothing to my skin. It covers just enough to look like my skin, but the beautiful freckles show through. A little goes a long way. My skin, but better! Weightless to wear, I forgot I had It on. It has a natural glow to it, and with setting powder it is undetectable. It feels like silk. After 12 hours of wear, it looked and felt exactly the same. My husband asked what I had done differently, he said I was looking younger the first time I wore it.

Might of found my everyday foundation, I'm pretty impressed. Only down side is, no pump. I really like the sanitary aspect of a pump. But for $22, I'm very happy. Will repurchase until I either find something better, or they discontinue.

Eye Shadow -Clinique -Jonathan Adler Palette

on 11/30/2017 11:22:00 AM

I'm absolutely in love with this preppy-luxurious palette! It's of course not the Instagram style of makeup, but a more demure and fresh faced look. Regularly the palette goes for $50-$60 depending where you but it. I got mine for $35 at Bealls.

It has a summer vacation, springy vibe to it. The outer case can be mistaken for a super cute clutch purse. It has a silver snap closure like a purse, with a canvas fabric cover. Jonathan Adler is famous for his geometric design patterns, and this packaging definitely showcases it. Printed in bright turquoise and white is a gorgeous Greek key- shield pattern. The texture is wonderful too. I just find myself always trying not to get it dirty with eyeshadow finger prints!

The colors can be worn in any season, with any skin tone. Very classic. There are brights, but not screaming-in-your-face brights. It has thirteen shades. 5 warm neutral browns, 4 brights, 2 pastels and 2 dark crease shades. They are buttery and easy to blend, very little fallout. Most of the shades are frosts or shimmers, with maybe two matte. Inside the case is hefty, all white tray where the pans sit, with four clear handled mini brushes. I like the brushes. Usually the brushes included are crap, these are pretty good. The mirror is clear and a good size. Very clean and pure looking. The different sized pans are arranged like bubbles floating together. The darker shades are smaller pans, but a little goes a long way!

Overall, I'm obsessed with this palette. It's fresh, it's fun and great quality. I've recieved many compliments on the case and when I wear the prouduct. I wear it everyday almost. It's refreshing to have a lighter look after all of that heavy make up I've been wearing. I feel it is for the 30ish woman I am, and it looks age appropriate and plays up my natural beauty, not completely recreating it.

Unfortunately I may not be able to repurchase, since it was a limited addition collaboration, but I think I will be trying more Clinique makeup.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique -All About Eyes Rich

on 11/30/2017 10:50:00 AM

So, I made an expensive mistake. But luckily, I got my $54 back.

Awhile ago I tried a "sensitive" skin cleanser from Clinique, and was severely disappointed. I swore off the whole brand. A good friend of mine (who has AMAZING eyes at 50 years old) talked me into this cream one day, she has used the regular version for years and loves the Rich version.

ONE NIGHT and ONE APPLICATION was all it took to know that this stuff is toxic. Not to mention useless, it's in a tub. A tub for peptides Clinique? $54 for a useless product?

Anyway, back to my unfortunate story. It burned, and it literally burned my under eyes. On the way back to the store to return it, my skin was visibly burned. I got my money back and will NEVER purchase another skin care product from Clinique again. Strike two, and you are out. My eyes are nothing to play with.

On a good note, the Super Balanced Silk Foundation in 02-Silk Shell really works for me, and calmed the irritation the eye cream caused. I love that, and will repurchase. My advice, stay away from the skin care!

Skincare - Face -Clinique -Turnaround Revitalizing Lotion

This is a great lotion, it’s clear and viscous but absorbs well. I only use it at night before my actual moisturiser. Works very well to retain moisture in an air-conditioned room which can be quite drying for my sensitive-combination skin. It’s good enough for summer to fall months but might be too light for winter use. I’ve used a wide range of Clinique products and I credit much of my clear skin to this brand!

Skincare - Face -Clinique -Even Better Essence Lotion

A very nice product, the third step to my skincare routine after toner, the essence goes on so easily and absorbs quickly. It preps my skin before I apply Clinique’s moisture surge extended thirst relief moisturiser. I have clear skin almost always (didn’t use to) and I’d credit it mostly to Clinique!

Moisturizers -Clinique -Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

This is a beautiful moisturiser for summer months. It sinks in beautifully to the skin and acts as a perfect base for pore-less powder foundation application. Moisturising properties are definitely there and the formulation is a mixture of good ingredients - no dimethicones which has always been a bane for my sensitive-combination skin. There’s a bit of a clinical smell to it but it’s nothing unbearable. Good priced especially when you buy it duty free in an airport. Heart!

Moisturizers -Clinique -Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

on 11/29/2017 12:41:00 AM

Love love love! I have normal/dry skin and this is the perfect daytime moisturizer for me. It plays well with all my foundations without adding a heavy layer. I tried the lotion version and that I did not like because I felt it was too heavy. This one is perfect. I get the big size bottle and it last me about 8months maybe even longer. One pump ia enough for my whole face and the price is great. I will continue to purchase.

Liquid -Clinique -Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer

on 11/28/2017 5:10:00 PM

I love the packaging of this! It makes life easier to just dab the foundation on the face with the applicator. BUT, that being said,it is not very hygeinic. If you're dabbing this on your face and you have active breakouts, you risk contaminating your go3undation with the applicator.
Color match was nice, but the foundation just looks dry and crepey. It settled into lines I didn't know I had!
I'm super oily, so I was surprised to see that type of finish. I can't imagine what dry skin girls will look like with this.
I'll finish this bottle, but I won't repurchase. I honestly don't reach for it very often. I like my Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation beter.

Looking at the ingredient is like big yikes! Why is even this product with old-school ingredients on Clinique line? No wonder this product does not do anything! Really do not get the hype over this product!

I really wanted to like this product but alas, it broke me out really bad. That is the only reason I will not be purchasing this moisturizer again...otherwise it is just perfect. Light and airy on the skin, smells nice, doesn't make my skin oily. In fact, my face felt really soft and smooth after applying it.

I got a sample of this moisturizer and I didn't even finish it because it made me break out. I wasn't gonna hold it out because I was getting a new pimple every day. Also..I know it is supposed to give 'extended thirst relief' but it is really light and disappears after you apply it so if you have combination skin like mine, you will feel like you need to re-apply. I ended up using this product just on my hands.

Toners -Clinique -Clarifying Lotion #2

It looks so pretty but don't be fooled! This stuff is strong. As soon as I applied it I felt this burning/stinging sensation, and I have an allergic patch that looks like a breakout. I don't usually have sensitive skin, but this stuff smells and feels like paint stripper.
