Mascara -Chanel -Inimitable Intense Mascara

Good mascara: gives length, volume, separation, curl ... in a natural way. And IT DOES NOT FLAKE! Finally a mascara which does not end up under my eyes during the day.
Only downfall (but an important one): as the day goes on, the lovely effect fades away... it does not hold till the evening. Will not repurchase.

Mascara -Chanel -Le Volume De Chanel

All the great reviews on YouTube made me buy this mascara. Sadly, it deposits way too much product on my very long but very straight lashes and totally kills the curl I work so hard to achieve. Even with the lightest coating I can get with this brush, I literally see the curl coming out. I suspect this works brilliantly for people with thicker curlier lashes because they can put one coat on and go. Sadly, that's not how it is for me.
Because my lashes are so long, I look for volume but I prefer the "fluffier" volume I get with L'Oreal Voluminous. Yes, it take three coats but with it I get a full fan of nicely separated lashes and lots of them. The waterproof version is even better. I was hoping that Le Volume would be the "unicorn" product it is for so many others but it just isn't.

Foundations -Chanel -Le Teint Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Flawless Foundation

Let me start off by saying that I love Chanel's Aqualumiere. Foundations from Chanel are naturally going to be pricey, but based on my past experience with their products, I was willing to pay for performance. I decided I wanted stronger coverage than Aqualumiere's light (but buildable) one. I have combination skin. The woman at the counter recommended Le Teint Ultra Tenue. She put a patch on my cheek and the color matched beautifully. I was sold, but I really should have tested it on my entire face.

The color is great. The packaging is beautiful and the fragrance is light and pleasant. Unfortunately, that's sort of where the pros stop. This foundation sets fast. I mean within seconds fast. The consistency is thick and tacky. I always hydrate my skin with a serum and let that soak in before I apply foundation, but it did not help. The end result is my face looks cakey and patchy and the foundation uneven. I tried thinning it out with moisturizer, but that did not work either. I am pretty disappointed because it did cost $60. I gave it to my mom who has oily skin hoping it might be a better fit, but she had the same reaction.

Estee lauder's double wear or Lancome's teint idol ultra are better choices if you want medium to full coverage.

Liquid -Chanel -Perfection Lumiere Velvet

Absolutely excellent liquid foundation. Perfect for combination skins, but very oily would likely need a suitable primer or powder over top. Velvety finish just like a second skin and feels completely weightless. People do write about it having a fragrance but I've actually never really noticed it - I do use a few Chanel products so maybe that's why. Despite the matte finish my skin still looks luminous. Highly recommend for those wanting a natural look with coverage. If you've got problem skin and still like lighter foundations, you'll need concealer for those areas, but you can still build this foundation pretty easily and get an easy medium coverage. Will cling to dry patches, so follow your normal moisturising routine and for best results, press into skin using a beauty blender. Finger tips work equally well, but I've found using a beauty blender produces the best results. Have been using everyday since it was released here, so for a few years now. Love it, love it, love it!

It is alright. Nothing special. My skin feels sticky whenever I apply more than a pea sized amount. Which is a big turn off for me. I really love the smell! Oh my baby Jesus, the scent of the Chanel hydra line is divine. I bought 2 jars, I'll probably use the second one as lubricant for door hinges.

Blush -Chanel -Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 64 Pink Explosion

Chanel blushers last a really long time! So this makes up for the expensive price of the product.
This blush has a faint rose like scent, which is not off putting to me.
I like that the compact comes with a brush and mirror, makes it a travel friendly item.

I usually put about a few swipes on each cheek, the blush goes on subtly and can be layered into a natural rosy flush finish. This is a very wearable pink and I believe it's either neutral or to the cool undertone shade. Most of Chanel blushers are on the warm side.

I'm fair-medium skin with neutral to cool undertone. Using MAC NC 25.

I bought this and returned it

It is too orange for a dusting on my face as I am NW20 pink undertones red cheeks. I have to really rub this all over my face and neck and it still looks orange on me

I hate the packaging. I need something small, efficient, easy and fast.

This doesn't pass the fast easy non bulky packaging test...

Blush -Chanel -Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick

My first Chanel blush and also my first cream blush. I bought the pink (21) shade and it gives me a very natural flush. It is very easy to apply. Just one swipe across the cheek and blend out using either fingers or a synthetic brush. Just remember to apply after liquid foundation but before powdering. It won't work well if using powder foundation. You'll have trouble with the blending if applied over powdered skin. I don't have any problem with it's staying power.
The scent is a bit strong but Chanel tends to scent their makeup products so it's part of the experience if you want to use Chanel. I like that it is part of the permanent range. I may not repurchase purely because I do prefer to use powder blushes.

Blush -Chanel -Coco Code Harmonie (quad)

I'm a sucker for multi use powder compacts. I had to get this since it's advertised as a blush, bronzer and highlighter in one compact. The red blush is very pigmented and can easily be overdone so a light hand is needed. The highlighters, white and gold quadrants, have very fine shimmer and is very subtle when applied to the skin. This is also versatile that I can alter the blush by mixing the gold or brown shades to make it more coral or lighter. The powder lasts most of my work day on my oily skin. A great addition to my powder collection.
I do wish Chanel could have designed the packaging so that the included brush can be stored within the compact. Instead, we get a velvet pouch to store the brush. I think I'll lose the brush if I travelled with it. For the money Chanel is charging, it is not too much to ask that they give more thought to the packaging's functional design. Or they could skip the scratchy brush and lower the price. I imagine most Chanel lovers would own better quality brushes to use this lovely powder anyway.
If this was permanent, I'd repurchase but this is LE so not an option.

Mascara -Chanel -Dimensions de Chanel

I will admit that I was drawn to the mascara for the colour. I wear blue mascara (was too young in the 80s to enjoy the trend?), and Cobalt seemed like it would be more vivid than Le Volume in Blue Night, which I normally use. What struck me first was how similar it is to the now-discontinued Extracils in formula (not to mention packaging). And, like with Extracils, I am not a fan. If you have long lashes and want to highlight that length, give this a try. I prefer a volumizing mascara, and need too many coats of this to achieve what I want. I also find it more difficult to remove than Le Volume. As for the blue, it disappoints and almost doesn't show. I'll be going back to Le Volume when this tube is done.

Mascara -Chanel -Le Volume De Chanel

This mascara ticks all boxes for me: gives instant fullness to my lashes, lasts all day and is easy to remove. Best of all, it curls my lashes. I think that it's the current answer to Extrême Cils of days of yore, which I loved and was heartbroken when there was no replacement for it. It's painfully expensive and the blue shade was darkened from number 20 to 70, but, no matter, this is, in my books, the perfect mascara.

Powder -Chanel -Vitalumiere Loose Powder

This powder is life changing. I originally bought this because the beautician mistakenly gave me this instead of their loose setting powder. When I opened it at home I was worried I wasn't going to like it and it would be a waste of $80! Luckily I loved it. Normally I am combination to oily. I wear Estée Lauder double wear religiously and I would always set it with their double wear powder foundation. I can't explain the world of difference this is compared to the double wear powder. As someone who is oily and about 5 hours into the day my nose is usually worn right off. I always have issues with foundation not sticking to that area, I'm pretty sure my skin just eats it all up haha. I can wear this powder on top of my double wear for 8-9 hours WITHOUT RETOUCHING. It doesn't budge, it is extremely finely milled and the powder feels velvety on the skin. It doesn't settle in any pores, it leaves a natural skin like finish... But it makes your skin look almost air brushed. I work in a cosmetic department and my co workers have commented on how great my skin is looking since I bought this!

Over all this product is amazing, I think it would be great for any skin type but maybe not extremely oily skin or extremely dry. You'd just have to play around with it. The packaging is of course gorgeous and classy. Timeless and definitely looks high quality. I love that they give a kabuki brush in the box! It is extremely soft and makes you not feel so guilty spending that much lol.

Now the real issue I have is the amount of product you get. If someone was to use this as their only foundation... They would be running out very fast. If you compare how many grams of product you get to something like the smashbox halo powder it's almost crazy. For the price I feel it needs to be fuller. I know a lot of people will complain about the price but if you're buying a luxury makeup product and especially if it's Chanel you're clearly going to be paying top dollar. I will be sad when I need to repurchase because of the price tag BUT I can definitely see myself continuing to use this for a long time.

Liquid -Chanel -Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15

First of all, I'm being VERY generous for giving this foundation 2 stars instead of 1. However, the color match was decent and it was easy to apply (so I suppose that's something good).
I am currently about an NC25 (but lean much more neutral). I chose the shade B-30. It was a dead-on match! I have some fine lines and oily combo skin.
The consistency of this product is super runny and you have to be sure to really shake the product up very well or it will come out separated. I have found that this foundation can be applied easily with any foundation brush or fingers as well. Now on to the bad...
If you have fine lines or any visible pores whatsoever, this foundation will sit in them and make them very noticeable. In this respect, this is absolutely the WORST foundation I have ever used. It goes on dewy looking but quickly dries down to a matte finish. Although the finish is matte and dry looking, there's a sort of slight iridescence that calls attention to the most unflattering areas of an aging face. One coat is not enough but two coats is cakey. I tried various primers and methods of application and it didn't make a difference. This foundation is a total disappointment. Maybe useful for someone younger with perfect skin, but not for my 38 year old complexion.

Powder -Chanel -Vitalumiere Loose Powder

foto

This is touted as a loose powder foundation, something that is not very common in the beauty industry. I have this in 10 which was ok for my NC 20 skin.

It comes with a baby kabuki brush which is made of synthetic bristles but still so soft. Having said that, I've never used it as its too small. The loose powder come in a tub which has a small cylindrical inbuilt mesh in the middle. Now, Chanel has cleverly designed the cover to include a protruding part which presses onto the mesh part when closed and this prevents the powder from spilling, since this doesn't come with any sponges to keep the powder in.

The loose powder isn't exactly finely milled but it adheres really well to the skin (I apply this over concealer). There is a certain level of coverage but not too much so if you have really beautiful skin, then you use this alone otherwise concealers are still necessary.

Finally I didn't like the scent they've added to this product, smells flowery but a bit too overwhelming for my taste.

I'm half done with my tub and have already bought a spare.
