Cleansers -The Body Shop -Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash

on 4/30/2017 2:41:00 AM

I love this product. I shouldnt, because foaming cleansers usually do not agree with me. But i love it. It cleans my face bautifully. I use it in the morning and the feeling and scent help me wake up. Its gentle and does not dry my skin out. I use it in the shower or at the sink. I would buy it again and if you wait a bit it will go on sale.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Almond Hand & Nail Butter

on 4/29/2017 3:28:00 AM

This is a lovely cream for those who want to maintain healthy hands, but for someone with dry hand and cuticle issues, this unfortunately doesn't do the job. I have been using loads before bed, but no change in the morning - I still wake up with disaster nails.

Styling Products -The Body Shop -WILD ARGAN OIL RADIANT OIL

I have great preference on The Body Shop (TBS) products, especially the beautifying oil range. I am very impressed by this product when it first launches in the market together with other Wild Argan Oil line product. It can be use on skin, face, hair or body which means it is multipurpose and basically you can use it on your whole body, from head to toe.

The price is rather average, not cheap but rather a bit expensive. I tried the tester when I was in TBS Singapore and the scent did not really please me, it smelt like aerosol mosquitoes spray + nutty scent to be honest. Nothing of any ordinary fragrance or perfume-y which stopped me from purchase it. After many months, I was online shopping and saw this product again and finally decided to give it a try. The main purpose I bought it is to use it as a hair oil to tame frizz and moisturising my dry ends. I have tried and error for many times and found out that it does not really tame frizz, but somehow reactive them even after blowdrying or flat ironing. Beware that a few spritz will definitely make your hair very oil and it will look like oil slick and take forever to dry. Never spray it directly to your hair as that patch which you spray on, will be a horrible disaster. Spray one time each on your palm, rub your palm together to heat it up abit before you apply it to your hair. Its performance as a hair oil makes me very unhappy and there comes a thinking of using it as a makeup remover.

Now that I have finished up the whole bottle and I must say, it works better (so much better) as a makeup remover to remove waterproof mascara, eyeliner, face powder, BB cream, sun shield - whatever you have on your face. Just a few sprays and it cleanses up all the makeup and left no residue. After wiping off the makeup with this oil, I will usually massage my face, especially eyes areas and my forehead where there are wrinkles. I will wipe it off with tissue before I wash my face and the excess oil that makes your face oily can be easily wipe off. You will know that when you wash your face, it foams alot. With excess oil on face, it is difficult to create foam and you might end up rewash your face for a few times. But this does not make your life difficult.

As a result, after a few months, I notice that the wrinkles on my forehead (I call it train/railway tracks because it gets worse when I raise my eyebrows or make some face expressions) fade so much. The wrinkles become less obvious and finer! I never thought that this oil can lighten/improve my face expression wrinkles in just a few months' time and I am so impressed by it. It does not work as a hair oil but it works perfectly as a skin moisturiser/massage oil and makeup remover. This is something out of my expectation. One more important point, it does not cause any breakout on my face or sensitivity (burnt, redness, swelling, itchiness or tightness). I would say this is a very mild product for face, and this could be the reason why it cannot tame frizziness on hair.

I will not repurchase this oil because of the price and there are many other flavours of TBS beautifying oil that I have yet to try out. It is overall a good product for skin and maybe it works well for dry spots on hands, arms or legs to avoid them being flaky or razor burns. But just a kind reminder that, my spray bottle does not really work as I have to press it a few times to spray out the oil but strange enough, sometimes just one press, it will spray. Faulty packaging on the spray I suppose and the the cover/cap does not close tightly, it is very loose that it drops and basically the cover/cap just sits on top of the spray and it does not close at all, what more to say to prevent leakage or to bring the whole bottle for travelling.

Toners -The Body Shop -Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

on 4/25/2017 5:31:00 PM

On my third purchase of this toner. I apply it onto a small face towel, apply on my face and it really does mattify my face which is something I have to do before applying makeup. Sometimes it does have a little bit of a sting but I don’t mind it because if it is too strong I can dilute it with a little water or a less harsh toner like Witch Hazel, but the tea tree is a great essential oil for treating acne on the skin. This does have a strong scent but I’ve gotten used to it and I don't mind it. If I miss removing any foundation in my hairline this product definitely cleans it all up.

Wow, am I glad I came back to read the reviews before giving this gentle-seeming product another try! I developed a burning/itching rash on my face right around the time that I originally purchased this and returned it on the off chance that it was the culprit. The rash took forever to go away (and required multiple doctor's visits) even after I discontinued use of this, so I eventually thought maybe something else had caused it. I was just about to give it another shot until I came back to these more recent reviews. Thank goodness for that! Thanks MUAers for saving my poor face!

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Hemp Hand Protector

on 4/23/2017 12:15:00 PM

Way too greasy and scented for my liking. I received a tube of this a couple of years ago and it took me forever to use it up. I ended up using it on the soles of my feet when they would get dry and cracked. Great for slathering on, covering with socks while you sleep, really penetrates and softens skin. I can't use this for anywhere else though, just too strong and greasy.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Hemp Hand Protector

I have repurchased this hand cream many times and will continue to do so. It saves my hands, especially in the fall and winter. About the smell, I have gotten used to it but I wear some cotton and cotton blend gloves on my hands when I use this and have no issue with the smell. When my knuckles get cracked from dryness I reach for this hemp hand cream and it heals them within days without any irritation.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop -Drops of Light™ Brightening Essence Lotion

I bought this because it smelled awesome and was hyped about by the sales lady. Doesn't moisturize at all. Not even hydrating, my skin was left dry and feeling tight. Cool packaging though.

Masks -The Body Shop -British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask

on 4/21/2017 12:30:00 PM

I adore the scent of roses and Bodyshop’s products always impress me so it was a bit of a no-brainer to splurge on this hydrating mask. I use it once a week, after showering, to really lock in that moisture and get a luxurious spa-like feeling. I think it does a nice job and leaves my skin feeling wonderfully soft. I was a bit iffy about the $30 price, but I discovered that it’s packed with hyaluronic acid which so good for the skin. Not to mention the fact that I noticed that when I put this on my neck, it really smooths out my pesky neck lines. I’ve had those lines since I was 22, but now at 33, I have a mind to prevent them from worsening and I find this product is great for that purpose. Additionally, the Rose mask has left me curious about the rest of the line so I might wait till they go on sale to try the others!

Treatments (Face) -The Body Shop -Tea Tree Oil

Excellent product. It is 0.09% which it good. Just enough to be very effective to fight against inflammated pimples yet not to strong to make your skin peel. I would not recommend using it all over your face as sensitive areas might react to the product but applying the oil here and there is just what you need. Even after one application before bed time I can see a big difference in the morning. The inflammation is considerably reduced and the pimples are dried up a bit.
I apply the product on my back and chest whenever I get some pimples there.
The tube is simple and good. Since it is transparent it is easy to see how much is left, and the dripping top is doing a good job.

Fragrances -The Body Shop -White Musk Smoky Rose

I'm not usually a big fan of rose smelling products, most of them smell like grandma with a touch of dust. This, however, is another story. I fell in love with it at first sniff. Smells very feminine, nice fragrance for autumn/winter time, as it is sweet.

Body Scrubs -The Body Shop -Argan Oil Body Scrub

on 4/17/2017 7:56:00 PM

It does give me the feeling of exfoliating, without leaving my skin dry afterwards. Instead my skin looks health and smooth. The smell is also great.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Wild Rose Nourishing Hand Butter

My elbows are very dry and this hand butter improves greatly their appearance. Plus, the cream doesn't make hands sticky or greasy, leaving them very soft instead.

Fragrances -The Body Shop -Scents Of The World ~ Atlas Mountain Rose

on 4/17/2017 1:01:00 PM

Got this in a body mist, it was about $8cad on sale and is a light rose scent. It doesn't last long but is lovely if you like rose scents. Mixes well with Japanese cherry blossom body butter. Would repurchase.

Bronzers -The Body Shop -Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder

on 4/17/2017 12:28:00 PM

I am fair skinned and I have this in the lightest shade 01. It is perfect for my skin, no orange look, not really shimmery so it doesn't highlight my oily skin. It's lovely.
I also use Nars Laguna but I like this just as much. This gives me such a lovely and natural colour and I have one in my bag for touch ups and one at home.
Most bronzers are either too orange or dirty face look or too shimmery. This one is perfect and I love it just as much as Nars Laguna and it's a fraction of the price. I would definitely buy again.
