Eyeliner -NYX - matte liquid eyeliner

on 10/14/2017 7:31:00 AM

Really like this liner. I've used Kat Von D tattoo liner for a few years now but I've gotten tired of how fast it dries out, and I'm not crazy about the semi-shiny finish, as I like my liner to be completely matte. This is my new go-to, it's matte, opaque, very black and doesn't flake or run easily. The brush is thin enough to do nice, precise lines, at least if you're used to liquid liner. If you're not it might be a bit tricky at first. Overall I'm just really happy with it.

Blush -NYX - HD Blush - Taupe

on 10/14/2017 6:25:00 AM

Can't believe how long I slept on this. This shade is perfect for contouring for pale, neutral-toned skin like mine. After using ABH powder contour palette forever (which is good but nothing extraordinary) and running out of the one shade I could use in it, this is a great substitute. There really aren't many contour palettes that offer more than one shade that's cool-toned enough for my skin so if you're like me, this is a way more economical option. Only thing is I wish it would last a bit longer on the skin but with a good base it shouldn't really be a problem.

Lips -NYX - NYX Slip Tease Lip Oil

on 10/14/2017 1:18:00 AM

I don't know that this is that different than their Lip Lingerie product. It goes on a little more smooth but still dries to a matte finish. I'm also not sure why they call it an oil - at the end of the day, it's a matte lippie. A little disappointed as I was expecting something closer to a real lip oil.

Lips -NYX - Epic Ink Lip Dye

on 10/13/2017 11:43:00 AM

I regularly use Nyx lipsticks, so I was quite excited to see this new option. It does not moisturize the lips, so if your lips are like mine, you'll need a gloss on top. It wears off quickly, and it will stain your teeth if you get it on there. I may return it if I can find my receipt.

Concealers -NYX - HD Photogenic Concealer Wand (All Shades)

on 10/12/2017 7:15:00 PM

I first got this concealer thinking it will be a good concealer from a brand that I like and have faith in... Not exactly what I thought it will be.
This does the job with concealing my under-eye area, but I do have problem with it as well. I sometimes apply the waterproof eyeshadow primer by NYX under my eyes as well if I apply some shadow under my lower lash line. If I apply the concealer over that, you can see a patch under my lower lash line where I applied the primer, like my skin is super dry and about to flake off, when in reality it's only the primer. Because of that, I apply another concealer with this one as well only to not get that patchiness under me eyes.
In regards of covering up redness in the skin, it gives a medium coverage that does the job. But covering up blemishes? Doesn't really work. It doesn't cover up the blemish AT ALL, even if I try to build up the coverage. You can clearly see the blemish, and it looks patchy and flaky, making me feel like it just draws more attention to the blemish, and not covering up the redness of the blemish it self at all.
Even though this concealer does the job in covering up my dark circles (even though it's a tad dark for my pale skin), I would not repurchase it.

Brows -NYX - Micro Brow Pencil

on 10/12/2017 2:29:00 PM

This is a pretty good dupe for highend pencils like that of ABH or benefit. If you can find a color match it's a good value. The pencil seems to last longer than the L'Oreal or Maybelline pencils. I wish the caps were interchangeable though.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX - #nofilter primer

on 10/12/2017 9:24:00 AM

Fantastic blurring primer that gives some oil control. Has the same blurring effect as the #nofilter powder. Negative: Only comes in 1 color, which is very sheer. .this is only suited to those with light-medium skin as a final product. Over a shiny sunscreen it mattifies and gives a nice polished 'no makeup' effect. I have never used it under makeup so I cannot attest to its powers of priming or making foundation adhere.

Eyeliner -NYX - Two Timer Kohl Pencil and Felt Tip Liners

on 10/11/2017 2:34:00 PM

This has to be one of NYX's worst eyeliners. I loved their vinyl and matte liners and when I saw this I picked it up thinking it would be great. Boy was I wrong. The liquid liner doesn't come out. I shook it, left it upside down, wet it, dragged it on some paper.. just dryness. The kohl liner was awful too! I tried to apply to my eyes and it dragged and skipped. Overall very DRY formula. Not sure if I got a dud but it was so bad that I threw it out. I never throw products out unless they are totally unusable and this one was.

Also, when I was at NYX I saw a girl trying to return this product and I overheard the sales associate asking why she wanted to return it and she said it was dry and bad as well.

Brows -NYX - Tame & Frame brow pomade - Brunette

on 10/11/2017 1:48:00 PM

Waxy and patchy. With some working and practice I can make my brows even, and yes, it lasts all day. But not worth fussing with because the product is so patchy and dry, and I just got it. I mix with some face oil to make it smoother but I don't believe in getting additional products to make another usable. Colors all lean warm.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX - Studio Perfect Photo-loving Primer

on 10/11/2017 1:11:00 PM

I have shiny, oily skin (from benzoyl peroxide) and wear liquid foundation (light application).

I've tried the ELF Mineral Primer which has the exact same ingredients as this but I can say that the NYX clear version is less silicone/greasy on the skin than the ELF mineral primer -- which for me, is a huge plus. Huge. I apply this in dabs on my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead then gently rub it in - then let it sit for a few minutes while I do my eye makeup, then apply my foundation. This doesn't have a smell, you get a little over 1 oz for $12.99 (superstore) which is good, and again, the consistency really surprised me. It's very lightweight and it absorbs without feeling tacky or greasy. Even on my fingers when I'm done applying, it's not greasy!

It blurs a little, but it does really well with helping control my shine/oil and keep my makeup in place vs. not using a primer. I really doubted what a good primer could do for my skin, but now, I won't wear foundation without it. This is a great staple to have. I have tried the Milani Prime Shield and I will say that I think the Milani Prime Shield did mattify me for a LITTLE longer - but i mean - minimally longer. Not enough to warrant the more expensive price than this NYX one. I think this one is a winner.

Brows -NYX - Micro Brow Pencil

on 10/11/2017 6:06:00 AM

I bought this in taupe and it is way to warm to be called taupe. It is also a bit dry and I have quite dense eyebrows so I need a product that will stick to the skin in between my brow hairs - if that makes sense. I wouldn't say it's useless as I'm definitely gonna finish it, but I'm pretty sure that there's way better brow pencils out there.

Lip Gloss -NYX - Butter Gloss

on 10/10/2017 11:02:00 AM

This product contains silica in nano form. No way I will put that on my lips. Nano silica is not listed on the old ingredient list here but is listed on Nyx website.

This is what European commission thinks about it:
The SCCS found no proof that nano-
silica penetrates the skin or is toxic,
but also did not find enough evidence
to rule out those possibilities. More
data are necessary before it can be
declared safe or unsafe. In particular,
more evidence is needed to ascertain
the absence of dermal penetration
of nano-silica, especially through
damaged skin. In case there is internal
exposure, there would also be a
need to exclude potential genotoxic,
carcinogenic and reproductive effects.
When new data become available, the
SCCS will again review the safety of
these silica materials in nanoform."

I am very careful with nano in cosmetics. I would not recommend this product until there is evidence for the safety of nano silica.

Powder -NYX - Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation

on 10/10/2017 4:30:00 AM

I've had high expectations of this product due to the fact I love NYX and it is such an affordable powder. The fact is that I have combination skin with a very oily T zone which I try to calm down. Well this product didn't keep me matte for 3 hours. I had to blot like 2 times during 5 hours. You can even see it on your finger that it has not a completely matte finish. So for me it's a big no. If your skin is kinda dry to normal give it a try it will probably work for you but I would definitely not recommend it for combination to oily skin like mine.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX - Pore Filler

on 10/9/2017 10:27:00 PM

I can't make this product work for me even though I have tried but only succeeding in putting it away.

This product gave me breakout at where I applied this product which were at both sides of my cheeks. I tried applying in a smaller amount but it still gave me breakout nonetheless.

This was unfortunate especially it really mattified my skin, reduced my pores, and made my makeup lasted longer. If excluding the breakout it gave me, I would say this was such a great product especially at this price at THB 490 (which converts to approximately USD 15).

Of course, I would not trade for a product that was affordable and made myself looking good only when I had my makeup on. Some said this product is a dupe for the "Benefit Porefessional", and I have to say "not quite" (I ordered a free sample from Sephora Bangkok). The texture may be the same but the formula was absolutely NOT since the "Benefit Porefessional" didn't give me breakout.

Moreover, I have discovered that I don't really need a primer especially as long as I take care of my skin well. Personally, I think we, as a consumer, buy (unnecessarily) stuffs because of the hype surrounding us. We add another 'step' because someone recommends us to when we don't really need to. I agree that for some people it is necessarily to have a primer, but if you know that you DON'T NEED, then even a primer at drugstore price doesn't worth the splurge.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - Yogurt

Bought this for adding a little highlight to the inner corner of my eyes, it works perfectly for that purpose. Price is great. Would repurchase.
