Moisturizers -CLINIQUE -Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate

on 7/23/2018 8:17:00 AM

I’ve been using this as a serum in the mornings under moisturizer and before sunscreen. It’s not super moisturizing on its own, but I find that it has helped my dehydrated skin normalize out (its undoing some damage I did to myself with a few of The Ordinary products that were not a good fit for my sensitive skin). I still think I prefer the moisture surge intense cream as I could use it on its own for better effect, but layered under a moisturizer this is pretty nice. It also does not irritate my skin at all.

Treatments (Face) -CLINIQUE -Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil-Free

I am 31. I didn't have acne problem when I was a teen except few around my periods. Right after my 31st birthday my face started to break out soooooo bad
I couldn't figure out what happened. I didn't change my routine. I browsed all the acne treatment products and bought this clinique acne treatment kit. It didn't work for me. It made my skin very dry and flaky. I still applied it on the pimple just because I spent money. I wouldn't recommend this.

Foundations -CLINIQUE -CliniqueFIT Workout Makeup

on 7/22/2018 10:53:00 PM

This wasn't awful on me, just didn't do anything noticeable and any even subtle tint seemed to disappear after an hour.

Sadly, it seems like I fell for brilliant marketing campaigns and claims again.

The only reason I didn't give it a lower rating is because it could be a workable sunscreen with the SPF 40. Plus, the light shade is the palest I've seen in Clinique foundations in ages (but still slightly too dark). Deeper skin shades may have trouble finding a match.

I would not purchase this again because it provided NO coverage on me. Really, it didn't even dim my melasma. Plus, it has sodium chloride and a few other ingredients that my skin doesn't love.

I'm going to stick with my beloved Yves St. Laurent All Hours foundation- lovely, natural coverage and one of the few my skin will tolerate.

Test it out before you fall for the claims like me!

Liquid -CLINIQUE -Beyond Perfecting Foundation & Concealer

on 7/22/2018 11:53:00 AM

This Clinque super concealer is good minor dark areas on your skin. This is not good if you have deep dark eye circles, or serious acne scars or marks.
It is very natural looking especially during the day. Which will benefit skin that needs minor coverage. Unfortunately this product is not suitable for me. I have deep dark eye circles and
acne scars. I layered the concealer several times to get coverage over my problem areas. After layering there was still not enough coverage, my dark areas were visible. I so terribly wanted a one stop shop product that was lightweight and conceal at the same time. I must confess I intended to use the concealer as a foundation. Although its a concealer the lightweight texture can replace a foundation, but once again on fairly good skin.

Cleansers -CLINIQUE -Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

Love this stuff. As someone with pretty heavy acne scarring, I tend to use fuller coverage foundations...and we all know how tenacious that kind of foundation can be. I always double cleanse using this followed by Klavuu Pure Pearlsation Cleansing Foam for my water-based cleanser to remove all traces of makeup before applying any other skincare products. I have rebought and probably will continue to rebuy. Removes heavy makeup well. You may like to pair it with a washcloth to make sure it all gets off. Not a fan of the open tub but I can deal with the packaging.

Liquid -CLINIQUE -Superbalanced Foundation

on 7/21/2018 6:15:00 PM

Overall nice product covered most everything on face without feeling heavy or anything.. my skin didn’t react at all which is good since I have super sensitive skin.. price is right in my range! Only down side there is no pump to go with it.. I was matched to it Ivory and it’s a good match for my fair skin tone..

Edit Review: Its been super hot in CA and this makeup is not holding up at all to the heat and humidity.. making my face super oily.. not happy with it right now...

Mascara -CLINIQUE -Lash Power Mascara

on 7/19/2018 5:44:00 PM

I really like this mascara. It’s definitely a day time mascara that lengthens more than it volumizes but that’s fine for me because this mascara really does not smudge. It doesn’t flake either if I recurl my lashes after they’ve dried. And even after a whole 12 hour day, I don’t have smudges or flakes. I’m still getting used to taking it off because it comes off best with warm water, but then my other makeup gets all messy if I wash with water first. On the other hand, if I use makeup remover or Micellar water to take off my eye makeup first, then the mascara gets super difficult and messy. Hence the one star off.

Treatments (Eye) -CLINIQUE -Pep-Start Eye Cream

on 7/19/2018 11:30:00 AM

I just didn't find anything amazing about this eye cream. Average at best. Application of the is nice, smooth application without any tugging. I have very sensitive eyes, and deal with eczema. This product is gentle, did not aggravate my eczema. Works well under makeup. Still doesn't replace my HG eyecream: Lancome Eye genifique. I did finish up the tube, but did not repurchase.

Mascara -CLINIQUE -Lash Power Flutter-to-Full

on 7/18/2018 7:24:00 PM

Loved it, SO SAD IS IS DISCONTINUED! Was more buildable than the regular lash power and didn't flake as much as Estee Lauder or Blinc on me. Now that it's gone I'll have to go back to my Loreal Double Extend I guess. Boo.

Liquid -CLINIQUE -BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops

on 7/18/2018 6:41:00 PM

This is really great to have on the shelf for the right audience but you need to learn how to use it.

**** This product is for ****

- Those who can't find the right shade tinted moisturizers or a tinted moisturizer that doesn't irritate your skin (like me!)
- Those who are picky about how a product feels on the skin and can't find the right one (like me!)
- Those who don't want to get different products for different seasons, different coverage goals. Generally or when on vacation. (like me!)

**** How to work with this ****

- Find the right moisturizer or primer! It might take some trial and error. Some moisturizers' ingredients might lead to oxidization. Some might be too thick or too liquidy. If you get a bad result the first few tries, don't give up or think it's because the pigment drops are no good.

- It's not just how much BIY drops you use, it's also how much moisturizer you use. I watched some YouTube review videos for this and in my opinion some used more moisturizer than needed. (Remember the review videos are usually the bloggers' first experience with the product. It's of course easier to make mistakes with 'customization' products at our first try.)

- MIX WELL. When we use liquid foundations, we are always told to "shake well." The same applies to this. I suggest mixing with the moisturizer on something that won't soak in the product. Not your skin basically. Anything else, including a plate would work.

- Don't stay limited to Clinique's suggestion like "1 drop for this, 2 drops for this." You might do fine with less than half a drop, you might get better result with more than what Clinique suggests. It depends on what kind of coverage you like, your skin tone, and your moisturizer.

**** Potential bad side ****

The undertone thing. If you're going for sheer-medium coverage, because you use a small amount for that, there's no problem about the undertones. But if you're going for full coverage and you have pink undertones, you will probably not get the rosey finish you would prefer. I've used a few different Clinique foundations and found the lightest shades for cool undertones still have a more neutral-undertone finish. The same happens with BIY.

**** Bonus good side ****

Clinique products are generally suitable for sensitive skin. I had no irritation, no pimple.. no problem with this.

Highlighters -CLINIQUE -Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight - Hefty Highlight

on 7/18/2018 3:02:00 PM

This is my second stick specifically because it does give a nice sheen without exposing or emphasizing fine lines. I use on top of cheekbones and under brow. I prefer this stick to a powder highlighter as the matter not so good for, shall we say, maturing skin.

Moisturizers -CLINIQUE -Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

Believe me when I say it pains me to have to write this - this was my HG moisturizer for over 4 years! It was light, it felt like it was quenching my skins; thirst, I even liked its fragrance (reminded me a little of rosewater!) despite no fragrance added to the product. I was using this day and night and all was well until early this year...

Starting with my forehead and then spreading to cheeks I began to notice a rash and flakiness that I never seen before. At first it was mild and I wondered if a food or drink reaction but over the months it just got worse and worse. Changed my diet, changed my skincare routine, detergent, changed everything apart from Clinique DDMG until one day (2 weeks back) I decided to use a sample of an organic moisturizer a friend had given me and give DDMG a rest for a few days. Lo and behold not immediately but over the course of 10 days or so my skin very slowly calmed down, the bumps, the redness, the flakes until now it is almost 80% cleared and getting better everyday.
The only thing that has changed in all this period is not using DDMG. My guess is that the 'Dimethicone' ingredient (2nd on ingredients list!) which is a silicone had over the years started to build up in my skin until it had reached saturation point. Tbh I feel more annoyed with myself than the product for not realizing until now what was even in its ingredients list! Talk about a 'blind purchase' lol.

Summary: For oily skin folks don't expect oil control because it doesn't do that. It lightly moisturizes anything from normal to oily skin types, but not if overly dehydrated. If you do use this don't plan on using it for many years because depending upon your skins ability to tolerate silicones, eventually at some point this product may turn from friend to foe!

Moisturizers -CLINIQUE -Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

on 7/16/2018 11:05:00 PM

I got this as a deluxe size sample from Ulta recently. I liked that it immediately sinks into my skin and doesn't feel greasy. However it doesn't last 72 hours or makes my skin feel hydrated for that long. The name is misleading and I don't like the jar packaging. There are superior options at a much lower price. I will not repurchase.
