Liquid -Maybelline New York -Superstay 24HR Full Coverage Foundation

This foundation is fantastic. It blends so well with my mediocre foundation brush, and it covers almost everything. I RARELY have to conceal with this product. I have a drawer full of foundation that I would rotate, but I always find myself grabbing this one. It does stay very well (although I do always use setting powder) I work in a vet office where it tends to get very hot in the front office, and although I start to sweat, the foundation stays. Very minimal touch ups. I also have to include how much I love the pump. Always mess free.

Lipstick -Maybelline New York -color sensational in Crazy for Coffee

I believe I bought this product for about 18AUD at Target which is a bit much for a 'drugstore' product, would usually rather spend the extra money on a brand name. That being said this lipstick is my go-to for everyday wear as it's extremely similar in tone to my natural lips, only slightly darker. For reference I have medium yellow-toned asian complexion and I usually find brown/red-orange toned lip products work best for me. I was rather worried this would be one of those shades with heaps of white pigment mixed in since that tends to make me look like a zombie but thankfully it doesn't seem to have any. The longevity of the product has room for improvement but considering its not marketed as matte I'm not complaining. 10/10 would repurchase when I inevitably run out. If anyone knows of a similar colour in a matte finish let me know haha

Mascara -Maybelline New York -Volum' Express The Falsies

This is easily one of my top 5 mascaras.

I wouldn't say I'm a mascara snob but I definitely put mascara performance under a magnifying glass. The one I have is in Blackest Black - I don't remember if it's waterproof but it's a purple tube with a metallic blue band.

The brush is really unique - its bristles are wide for a nice fanning effect, and the brush is also slightly curved which really helps for applying mascara to your lower lashes. It follows the natural roundness of your eyes! It doesn't overload my bottom lashes either. A+

The formula is a bit more wet and sleeker than my other favorite mascaras (Benefit Roller Lash and Urban Decay Super Curling) but it's consistency doesn't make it clump - which I love! And it does lengthen and give you a Audrey Hepburn lashes look. Another thing I like about this mascara is that it doesn't smudge onto your lower lid or transfer as much as other mascaras. I have oily lids so raccoon eyes become the default. Not so with this mascara! Definitely recommend.

Eyeliner -Maybelline New York -Define-A-Line Soft Black

on 9/30/2018 11:52:00 PM

foto

I've been using this liner for years. As I've grown and gotten more into using makeup, I've realized this liner is not as amazing as I though it was. I keep buying this because it goes onto my waterline so easily, which I have a hard time finding in a product. I tend to get stuck on certain products, and that's what happaned with this liner.

It's nice because it's cheap and goes on so easily, which I love and was so important to me. I only use this on my waterline though, not my eyelid. I use a different liner for that. The color isn't bad either.

However, it does smudge a lot, especially in my inner corners. I'm always checking my mirror to see if there's any liner I need to wipe away. It also fades super quick, so I always need to reapply. When it fades, it just leaves empty patches and just doesn't look good.

So, I think I'm ending my relationship with this liner in search for something better.

If you need something cheap that applies easily, you can give this a try. If you're looking for quality and something that will stay on, I would try something else.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline New York -Color Tattoo - Bad to the Bronze / On and On Bronze

This is by far my favorite Maybelline Color Tattoo because it's a beautiful neutral color that can be worn on its own or under eyeshadow as a primer. This product costs around $5-$8 and comes in a jar. You get 0.14 oz of product and it is a cream shadow. Personally, I only use my pinky finger to apply this to my eyes. It looks very pretty if you are going for light makeup, but most of the time, I use it to help prolong my eyeshadow. I use primer, apply this cream eyeshadow, and then apply eyeshadow on top. My eyelids are actually quite oily, so if I know it will be a particularly long day, I will set my eye primer before applying this and it will last all day. All in all, this is a great product and Bad to the Bronze is my favorite shade.

Overrated.

The texture is smooth, but slippy enough that it doesn't last at all, and the scent is a disgusting, overwhelming, artifiicial cherry.

i think this is my favorite drugstore concealer, it is very creamy and hydrating and lasts all day on my skin. im someone who is very simple when it comes to makeup, its either concealer or foundation, i aint got the skill or time to do a full makeup routine. i like the coverage of this, it seems like medium, it helps me to minimize my redness but still have enough come through to look like im wearing blush. (i never buy blush-though i do have 2, more on that in another review)

Mascara -Maybelline New York -New York Full 'N Soft Mascara

What can I say? There’s a reason why Full ‘n’ Soft is so popular. I’ve been using it for around a decade, and no other mascara even comes close. In a world where clumpy mascaras are the norm, this one is the rarity. It never gives my eyelashes that all too common stuck-together look, which personally I can’t stand. While it obviously can’t compete with falsies, it will make it look like you have naturally bomb eyelashes. Another thing I love about it is that true to its name, your eyelashes feel very soft afterward, almost like you didn’t use any mascara at all. It also wears well throughout the day, with none of that annoying flaking that I’ve experienced with other mascaras.

Concealers -Maybelline New York -Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer in Neutralizer

The bottle is such an unhygienic and wasteful device, after using it a couple of times I ripped off the Sponge and found it was better that way. They claim to erase dark circles, it doesn't. Its medium coverage but I need a full coverage as my eye circles are dark and baggy, they are that bad shops try to charge me 10 pence everytime I leave. The good thing about it, is it is buildable, but it does crack, although it doesn't sit in my lines, having said that it starts to fade after a couple of hours, when I finish work I can see my dark circles under a cracked conceal which makes me look old!!!! It's good for someone who hasn't got serious darkness.

Powder -Maybelline New York -Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder

I really like this powder. I use it before my foundation on my T-zone and then as a setting powder because my skin is oily. Adding the step before my foundation seems to help a little more since it controls a little of the oil before it breaks through my makeup. I don't have to blot as often. I like it and will continue to use it until it doesn't work as well for whatever reason. Like if they change the formulation. For the love of all that is holy, please stop changing the formulations of things I love!

Concealers -Maybelline New York -Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

This one is a no for me. Fortunately, had $10 in Extra Bucks from CVS and used it and only spent about 98 cents to try this out as I've heard it compared to Tarte Shape Tape and wanted to see if it really did perform as expected.

While I do like the packaging, it does take many turns to get the product started - so many, I thought I had bought a defective one. But once started, it seems to work fine to bring up more quickly.

But I don't think the coverage this provides is anywhere near Shape Tape. I think a much better Shape Tape dupe (and a fraction of the Maybelline price) is Wet n' Wild's Photofocus Concealer. Aside from the just average coverage this Maybelline provides, the staying power on this really isn't good at all. Again, I can go pretty much the entire work day with Shape Tape or Wet n' Wild. But Maybelline just seemed to break down after only a couple of hours and I do not have oily skin, so surprised that it wore off that quickly.

Mascara -Maybelline New York -New York Full 'N Soft Mascara

My HG mascara (Tarte LCL) is almost empty and has recently stopped giving me the results it used to. I'm not sure what's up with my lashes, but it seems like every time I find a mascara I love, it only works for me for about 18 months and then it just stops randomly. Anyway, I was in the market for a new mascara, and I remembered using this one way back in middle or high school, but I couldn't remember why I stopped buying it. I assumed it was just because I started trying new things and never repurchased it, but I wasn't sure, so I grabbed a tube.

Meh. I put this on the other day, only on one eye, so I could compare it to my bare lashes. I pointed at my face and told my husband "This is apparently why I stopped buying this stuff," to which he replied, "What stuff?" because he couldn't tell a difference between my blond and brown, sparse, bare lashes and the lashes with 2 coats of F&S mascara on them.

It takes 4 coats of this stuff for me to be even remotely ok with the results, and even then I'm not actually happy. It's just barely "ok." This really reminds me of the Neutrogena lash tint they came out with back when I was in high school.

I would recommend this to three groups of people: people who have amazing natural lashes (naturally curled, pretty full, kind of long) but want them to be a bit darker, people who are new to makeup and want something pretty natural to experiment with, and people who really love the "no-makeup makeup" look.

This stuff is extremely natural looking, and not in a good way. It doesn't even make my blond/light brown lashes stand out much from my face. It's also pretty wet and a little messy. I end up with it on my eyelid and under my lower lashes.

The only really good things I can say about it are that it lives up to the "soft" part of its name (no crunchy lashes), it washes off easily (I didn't get the waterproof version), and it's actually really great for my bottom lashes...when it doesn't smudge all over the skin under them.

My top lashes are pretty straight, not very long, a bit sparse, and most of them actually point down. I didn't expect this stuff to be a miracle worker, but I expected more. I expected a little volume (with fewer than 4 coats) at least. I hate curling my lashes because it's usually pointless, but I tried. I warmed my curler, curled my lashes carefully in three places, and applied this stuff. I watched the curl drop within 30 seconds.

But my bottom lashes are actually not horrible. They're about as long as my top lashes, mostly blond, and a little sparse. I have a hard time finding a mascara that looks good on them. But this stuff actually does, so I'll probably hang onto it just for that purpose.

Pros:
-Washes off easily
-I don't think it's irritated my eyes
-Looks great on my bottom lashes (after I clean up the smudges)
-Probably great for people with amazing natural lashes
-For a wet formula, it feels light
-No crunchy lash feeling

Cons:
-Removes curl from lashes
-Pretty wet formula
-Smudges like crazy
-4 coats to see results
-I would definitely not pay $6-7 for another tube because it does basically nothing
-Black formula somehow doesn't seem to really darken my lashes without at least 2-3 coats
-Not good for people who don't have great lashes naturally and want their lashes to be noticeable

I won't be buying it again most likely, but I'm not going to throw away the tube I have because it does work on my lower lashes, at least.

Liquid -Maybelline New York -FIT Me Foundation (Matte + Poreless)

I have this foundation in #120 Classic Ivory and #125 Nude Beige. I would say that a blend of these two shades would suit my skin tone the best (I am around a NC20 / light medium with warm undertones). Honestly #125 matched my skin at first application, but it sort of oxidized after a few hours and got a bit darker (although tolerable) so keep that in mind.

This foundation has a medium buildable coverage and does not weigh heavy on your skin. It also has a demi-matte finish that feels slightly tacky to the touch. If you are a normal skin-type, I feel like you could get by with not powdering your face. It held up pretty well throughout the day and worked well with other products. Nothing really tugged weird and there were no blotchy spots to be found. My skin kept relatively matte but I have tried other foundations that worked better in controlling my oils. It did pretty well with smoothing out my skin and did not crack on my smile lines (which every foundation does) but I felt like it didnt really make a huge difference with my pores.

The packaging is a glass with a sturdy cap. I would prefer if it came with like a spatula (like the wet n wild photofocus foundation) because its much more convenient.

I would rate this a decent 3.8/5. Its a really nice foundation that holds up to its claims but nothing extraordinary that would make me repurchase. I feel like with a few tweaks here and there, this could be on-par with my WnW photofocus.
