Foundations -CLINIQUE -beyond perfecting powder

Fabulous! When I first apply this it looks powdery and too matte (I prefer a natural but not dewy look) but after a few minutes it’s perfect. I use the included sponge and go for sheer to light coverage just to even out my skin tone. I think it would easily give moderate coverage if applied heavier. It doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. When it’s been very cold and dry outside I’ve used a moisturizer underneath and that’s worked great. I haven’t yet worn it during hot humid summer months so can’t comment on that. Right now I’m wearing Cream Chamois (VF-G) and when it’s warmer and I’ve tanned a bit I’ll switch to Golden Neutral (MF-G).

Moisturizers -CLINIQUE -Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

I’m horribly sad. I’ve been suffering from persistent severe acne for so long and my skin was finally clearing up. Wasted so much money on supplements and skincare that were slowly healing my skin. But after a couple of days of using this well-loved moisturizer, i started noticing more frequent breakouts and blackheads. The frustration of having my skin go back to square 1 is killing me so much. I really really wanted to love it. I was so happy to finally get a moisturizer that many people swear by. But sadly, it didn’t work for my skin. I suffer from acne rosacea, and this little product has made my skin redder and angrier.

People with sensitive skin, beware. There are much better options out there if you’re not willing to risk ur skin having an unfortunate reaction. I think it’s due to the silicone in it; and the COSDNA analysis shows tons of potentially comedogenic ingredients. I’m really upset 😢 My skin....

Moisturizers -CLINIQUE -Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

foto

Ummm... what? SEVENTY TWO hour hydrator? The first time I used this before work in the morning I thought it was okay, but the next morning I woke up and my skin was super dry. For the next few days I slapped on this “rich” moisturizer instead of my usual Juice Beauty one and noticed that my skin became progressively dry. Today I put this stuff on and my skin just feels parched a minute later. Hate this stuff!

Eye Makeup Remover -CLINIQUE -Take The Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes & Lips

This is excellent. Works fast, doesn't make my vision blurry, doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and it doesnt dry out my eye area. It removes all my eye makeup (primer, shadow, waterproof eyeliner, regular mascara) in one go. I use it on a cotton square, hold it over my eye for 20 seconds and then wipe away.

Highly recommend. I like it much better than my garnier micellar waters.

Cleansers -CLINIQUE -Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk

I didn't like this at all. Texture was a bit too greasy for me and didn't feel comfortable on my face. Got it near my eyes and it stung like hell. What's the point of a cleanser that you can't use for at least some of your eye makeup? Ofc I use a specialized eyemakeup remover for the liner and lashes, but come on, even drugstore cleansers (e.g. Boots, Garnier) don't burn your eyes if you even get vaguely near them, plus their texture feels better on the skin. I can't recall any other similar milky cleansers that sting my eyes as like this Clinique one.

I just want to use this up for face make up, but I'm still stuck with this bottle!!

Sunscreen -CLINIQUE -Super City Block SPF 25

foto

I want to love this because it can be used around the eye area (Clinique says so). it’s a nice formula that spreads well, isn’t heavy feeling on the skin and isn’t whitening. It even wears well under makeup. No chemical sunscreen smell, no smell whatsoever for thst matter. But I can’t use it in the winter months when this kind of product is a good choice for me despite using a heavy moisturizer. I believe Clinique’s claim of it absorbing excess oil because I’ve tried this over a generous application of argan oil, which usually counteracts the drying effects of mineral sunscreens, and my skin still feels super dry within an hour of application. I have a preferred summer sunscreen (australian gold botanical spf50 tinted face lotion) that wears better than this because it withstands a bit of sweating and I can wear it swimming. This isn’t water resistant and Clinique’s claim of it wicking perspiration isn’t true, it sweats right off and I can’t just blot it because it all comes off on my tissue and if I have any makeup on top it turns into a cakey mess.
I honestly can’t devalue it because Clinique does say up front it absorbs oil, but I take off a lippie because Clinique says it can handle sweating and I say it can’t.

I love this stuff especially under makeup in a hot sweaty climate. I started off using it as a night moisturiser and now it’s day as well. A HG moisturiser for me.

Treatments (Eye) -CLINIQUE -All About Eyes

I like this product, I am just not very impressed by the relation price/quality. It hydrates well the eye area, it does not interfere with make up and it also doesn't irritate my eyes.

However, in terms of puffiness and black circles I do not notice much difference when compared with cheaper products, like the pep-start eyes, also from Clinique.

It also ends faster (maybe because of the package). One package only lasted 3 months (applying everyday morning and most nights). I had other eyes creams also of 15 ml that last approximately 5 months.

Moisturizers -CLINIQUE -Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

So, I remember a reviewer on here describe the discontinued Moisture Surge formula as a ”glorified Vaseline”, and for that reason they didn’t like it. I actually loved it for precisely that reason! On my dry, dehydrated skin, the old Moisture Surge (especially the Intense version) worked as a good occlusive on top of my other hydrating products. I liked having the ”Vaseline effect” without using actual Vaseline. (I don’t know, I was weird about Vaseline, but I have since learned to like it.)

This is different. Still sticky, but seems lighter, absorbs faster, and therefore does nothing for me as an occlusive. As a regular moisturizer, it’s mediocre at best. Whenever dimethicone is near the top of an ingredient list, I’m a little put off. Silicones don’t bother me as such, I just prefer ingredients with real benefits up there.

However, I do like that it contains urea (can be helpful for dehydrated skin), and there are some amounts of aloe and green tea leaf extract. I read that this was promoted as ”bursting with hyaluronic acid” - but it’s way down the ingredient list, indicating that there’s not much HA in there.

It’s not BAD, but regardless of your skin type, you can get a way better moisturizers for half the price of this, so if a friend asked me for recommendations, this wouldn’t even enter my mind.

The jar packaging (and the product hence being exposed to air and maybe fingers) makes no sense. A gel like this could easily be put in a (more protective) tube.

Edit: After trial using this for a week, I’ve got weird bumps around my chin and jaw, which is the only area of my face where breakouts sometimes (rarely) happen. Did not add anything else new to my routine, so I’m sure this is the culprit. What a weird product.

Liquid -CLINIQUE -Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup Foundation

I have a very oily skin type that gets the occasional pimples here & there but in general my skin is fine & I don't need to wear a liquid foundation for any coverage therefore! But I did buy this particular liquid foundation from Clinique to try when they first launched it years ago Bc I knew it was a fresh brand new product that hasn't been sitting around! ! LOL I love my Clinique products & have been using them since I was a teenager! & I bought this liquid makeup not to use as a foundation but as a concealer for any breakout I might happen to get or on any redness on my face or any small imperfections on my face! & I use this in their second lightest shade the fresh ivory and it matches my skin tone exactly!& I like how lightweight this feels on my skin and it holds well on my extremely oily skin! So I like this only as a concealer but I could see how this would perform well as a moderate coverage foundation for acne & oily prone skin people! I like also how this stuff is medicated with salicyclic acid to treat your skin issues while giving you good coverage!

Moisturizers -CLINIQUE -Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion [REFORMULATED]

It is absolutely the worst so-called moisturizer I've ever used in my life. I've had similar experiences as other users, the first few days my skin looked youthful, moisturized, and plump. But on like day three I had pimples all over my face. The scent is truly strange. It smells like old Band-Aids in a bad way. It is hard to believe that this product is still on the market. I threw the stuff in the trash this evening and back to Neutrogena I go. Now I'm left to wonder how long is it going to take for my face to clear up.

I have dry skin and use this product on a daily basis. It doesn't last the 72 hours like it says but it does leave a very hydrating texture on my skin. I use a round face brush to dip and apply it instead of scooping and using my hands. I find when I use that method the product lasts a lot longer, especially since I have to use it on a daily basis

Lotions/ Creams -CLINIQUE -Aloe Body Balm

on 12/10/2018 10:54:00 PM

My legs have been getting kinda dry lately Bc of the colder weather & I was thinking about what I had used in the past to remedy the situation & this great Clinique body lotion came to my mind Bc I had bought it numerous of times just to get their gwp ! LOL but anyway I had the most pleasant experience with this Clinique aloe body balm lotion & in the early days of Clinique it came in a large pump bottle which is very convenient but I think now it's smaller in a tube package! I had love this lotion for its fresh clean scent of camomile tea even though its fragrance free it has a very natural smell which I quite enjoyed using & the same clean fresh scent of camomile was also in their discontinued skin texture lotion which I also had loved & the same scent is in their mild liquid soap which I also love & I get nostalgic about these old discontinued moisturizers of Clinique's early days which made me the biggest Clinique fan!! I think this lotion has been discontinued
