Lip Liners -NYX -Suede Matte Lip Liner (all shades)

foto

Bought in shade called Alien. Goes well with my black lipsticks. Doesn't feather, or bleed into lip lines, makes lipstick more opaque and last longer. Helps to keep certain black lipsticks from bleeding. The only con is this is kind of dry, but it's a matte finish so that's to be expected. It doesn't drag as I'm applying it, so long as I have lip balm applied, so no points off for that. All in all a very good lip liner.

Lipstick -NYX -Macaron Lippies

foto

I bought this lippie in Chambord (black) and I love it! I bought a black lip liner from NYX in alien to wear with it. I always use liner with dark lippies, so I can't attest as to how this works without a liner. This product is completely opaque after 3 swipes over my lips. It's not transfer proof, but it does set nicely after about 10 mins. Not matte, but not glossy either; a nice satin finish. Happy with my purchase and I recommend it.

Lip Gloss -NYX -Cosmic Metals Lip Cream

I got this in Galactic which is the glittery metallic gunmetal colour for my Halloween costume. I absolutely will not be using this. I'm giving it 2 lippies because the packaging is good and the colour is gorgeous.

This goes on like a thick, sticky gloss which is ok and to be expected,, but it is quite gloopy as well and I could just not make it work. I tried it alone, applying with a lip brush, over lip primer, with lip liner and a combination of things. It just doesn't want to stay on my lips. It seems to want to settle on my teeth and glob up in patches on my lips. I think this would be great for photoshoots, but there is no way I can conceive of eating, drinking, or talking with this on. It just slides all over my mouth in a sticky, oily way. Maybe it's the colour I got because this has high ratings around the net, but I just can't do it. Wearing this would involve too much maintenance to make sure it stayed put.

Lips -NYX -NYX Slip Tease Lip Oil

I really liked this product. This is like lip lingerie’s slightly brighter cousin, though it has less options (at least right now). .I had seen swatches online, so I was aware that it dried to a matte finish. It’s a little thinner than lip lingerie, but barely. It almost looks like a stain depending on how much you put on and if you build it up, it looks more like matte liquid lipstick. I love lip lingerie, but this is even more comfortable and slightly less drying. It takes a little less time to dry down than lip lingerie as well. I will definitely be buying this in a couple more shades.

Brows -NYX -NYX PROOF IT! WATERPROOF EYE SHADOW PRIMER

on 10/14/2017 5:02:00 PM

foto

To start of, this primer works. It does it's job, and for my eyeliner that just won't stay on my eyelid and smear everywhere, this primer seemed like a miracle for me. I'm not 100% sure that the waterproof part of this eyeliner is legit, since I did use it for an eyeliner that was waterproof as well, so I guess it does.
So far, so good, but the problem I have with this primer is using it for as an eyeshadow base. Even after I let it dry for a bit after applying, I just can't blend eyeshadows on top of it. The shadow sticks to it and won't blend effortlessly like it always does. But on the bright side, if I succeed on blending eyeshadow on top of it, my eyelids don't get as oily and the work on my eyes, so it helps it last.
Another problem I have is the packaging. Recently I found out that the plastic part of the applicator cracked, and now it's a little hard to open it without accidentally pulling only the plastic but leaving the applicator itself still screwed inside.
Sadly, I won't repurchases this product, but only because I want to try other brands and see if they hold up as well. But I do recommend others to others who have oily eyelids like I do, because this primer really helps this problem.

Eyeliner -NYX -matte liquid eyeliner

Really like this liner. I've used Kat Von D tattoo liner for a few years now but I've gotten tired of how fast it dries out, and I'm not crazy about the semi-shiny finish, as I like my liner to be completely matte. This is my new go-to, it's matte, opaque, very black and doesn't flake or run easily. The brush is thin enough to do nice, precise lines, at least if you're used to liquid liner. If you're not it might be a bit tricky at first. Overall I'm just really happy with it.

Blush -NYX -HD Blush - Taupe

Can't believe how long I slept on this. This shade is perfect for contouring for pale, neutral-toned skin like mine. After using ABH powder contour palette forever (which is good but nothing extraordinary) and running out of the one shade I could use in it, this is a great substitute. There really aren't many contour palettes that offer more than one shade that's cool-toned enough for my skin so if you're like me, this is a way more economical option. Only thing is I wish it would last a bit longer on the skin but with a good base it shouldn't really be a problem.

I don't know that this is that different than their Lip Lingerie product. It goes on a little more smooth but still dries to a matte finish. I'm also not sure why they call it an oil - at the end of the day, it's a matte lippie. A little disappointed as I was expecting something closer to a real lip oil.

Lips -NYX -Epic Ink Lip Dye

on 10/13/2017 11:43:00 AM

I regularly use Nyx lipsticks, so I was quite excited to see this new option. It does not moisturize the lips, so if your lips are like mine, you'll need a gloss on top. It wears off quickly, and it will stain your teeth if you get it on there. I may return it if I can find my receipt.

Concealers -NYX -HD Photogenic Concealer Wand (All Shades)

I first got this concealer thinking it will be a good concealer from a brand that I like and have faith in... Not exactly what I thought it will be.
This does the job with concealing my under-eye area, but I do have problem with it as well. I sometimes apply the waterproof eyeshadow primer by NYX under my eyes as well if I apply some shadow under my lower lash line. If I apply the concealer over that, you can see a patch under my lower lash line where I applied the primer, like my skin is super dry and about to flake off, when in reality it's only the primer. Because of that, I apply another concealer with this one as well only to not get that patchiness under me eyes.
In regards of covering up redness in the skin, it gives a medium coverage that does the job. But covering up blemishes? Doesn't really work. It doesn't cover up the blemish AT ALL, even if I try to build up the coverage. You can clearly see the blemish, and it looks patchy and flaky, making me feel like it just draws more attention to the blemish, and not covering up the redness of the blemish it self at all.
Even though this concealer does the job in covering up my dark circles (even though it's a tad dark for my pale skin), I would not repurchase it.

Brows -NYX -Micro Brow Pencil

This is a pretty good dupe for highend pencils like that of ABH or benefit. If you can find a color match it's a good value. The pencil seems to last longer than the L'Oreal or Maybelline pencils. I wish the caps were interchangeable though.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX -#nofilter primer

on 10/12/2017 9:24:00 AM

foto

Fantastic blurring primer that gives some oil control. Has the same blurring effect as the #nofilter powder. Negative: Only comes in 1 color, which is very sheer. .this is only suited to those with light-medium skin as a final product. Over a shiny sunscreen it mattifies and gives a nice polished 'no makeup' effect. I have never used it under makeup so I cannot attest to its powers of priming or making foundation adhere.

Eyeliner -NYX -Two Timer Kohl Pencil and Felt Tip Liners

This has to be one of NYX's worst eyeliners. I loved their vinyl and matte liners and when I saw this I picked it up thinking it would be great. Boy was I wrong. The liquid liner doesn't come out. I shook it, left it upside down, wet it, dragged it on some paper.. just dryness. The kohl liner was awful too! I tried to apply to my eyes and it dragged and skipped. Overall very DRY formula. Not sure if I got a dud but it was so bad that I threw it out. I never throw products out unless they are totally unusable and this one was.

Also, when I was at NYX I saw a girl trying to return this product and I overheard the sales associate asking why she wanted to return it and she said it was dry and bad as well.

Brows -NYX -Tame and Frame Brow Pomade in Brunette

Waxy and patchy. With some working and practice I can make my brows even, and yes, it lasts all day. But not worth fussing with because the product is so patchy and dry, and I just got it. I mix with some face oil to make it smoother but I don't believe in getting additional products to make another usable. Colors all lean warm.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX -Studio Perfect Photo-loving Primer

I have shiny, oily skin (from benzoyl peroxide) and wear liquid foundation (light application).

I've tried the ELF Mineral Primer which has the exact same ingredients as this but I can say that the NYX clear version is less silicone/greasy on the skin than the ELF mineral primer -- which for me, is a huge plus. Huge. I apply this in dabs on my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead then gently rub it in - then let it sit for a few minutes while I do my eye makeup, then apply my foundation. This doesn't have a smell, you get a little over 1 oz for $12.99 (superstore) which is good, and again, the consistency really surprised me. It's very lightweight and it absorbs without feeling tacky or greasy. Even on my fingers when I'm done applying, it's not greasy!

It blurs a little, but it does really well with helping control my shine/oil and keep my makeup in place vs. not using a primer. I really doubted what a good primer could do for my skin, but now, I won't wear foundation without it. This is a great staple to have. I have tried the Milani Prime Shield and I will say that I think the Milani Prime Shield did mattify me for a LITTLE longer - but i mean - minimally longer. Not enough to warrant the more expensive price than this NYX one. I think this one is a winner.
