I wanted to try a stronger formula of Vitamin C, and although the review of this product made me backed down a bit, I settled that I've always had a resilient skin so why not try, it's very affordable anyway.I think this is the very first skincare that has ever made my skin sting like HELL and I started developing pimple here and there-not much, but it's visible. At first, I used it twice a day; morning and evening. So I thought maybe that's why it's too harsh for me (despite my thick skin) so I reduced it to morning use only (I live in tropical country and I spent approximately 2 hours everyday outside so I need a good anti-oxidant). I still can't bear the stinging sensation, especially because I have to layer it with sunscreen and make up. Finally, I switched it to evening use only and it works BEST.Yes this is not an easy product to get along with, but with its amazing ingredient and crazy, cheap price, I think we must do the extra work to fit in with this product :)Just be careful with the tube though, it always made me spill out too many product in the beginning.

I love this. I am dry and thought the other work better, but I hated it. I like a dewy look and wear BB creams (mostly Asian) or Face Atelier foundation or a cream foundation. I also wear sunscreen that is fairly dewy. My problem is getting base makeup to stay over my moisturizer and or sunscreen (dewy as well). After 60, I don't think matte base looks good on me. I prefer a natural look. I'd leave looking good and my makeup slide off my face after a few hours. Since I got this it's been lasting. I had been using Smashbox Photo Finish, which is fine, but overpriced. This is better. It blurs my pores a little. It helps a bit with fine lines. Everything looks more polished and not too shiny. I don't use powder except in Augues, as I will end up dry later in the day. This is the best answer I have found. It's really cheap ($4.90). I think it works better than Smashbox or Pore Professional and other silicone primers I have tried. .. It's not a miracle. It's not a major game changer, but it's very good bluring silicone primer that is very cheap.

The price is great. I hate the bottle but transferred it to a pump bottle. I am dry and this should work and it doesn't. The one that I hate is that nothing spreads. Eventually an hour later my foundation might melded with it, and sort of stayed put. It's harder to get my makeup on with this. I tried it with fingers and with a beauty blender. I am not really a brush girl. I noramlly wear Korea BB creams or Face Atelier Pro foundaiton - so dewy light makeup. This should work. I like the other one quite a bit. I tried it over a few sunscreens.

This stuff turned minor puffiness into major crepey skin. Gave me more wrinkles, not even a good eye cream could help with it. Poured the rest into my body lotion.

This is really nothing to write home about. Versus the ordinary, it’s thinner and absorbs better, but that’s about it. I never noticed a difference with either. Hyaluronic acid is just best when taken internally.

This product really dried out my skin but I also live in a dry climate and that can happen with HA.I do like how lightweight it is. It is like water.

SPOT TESTBefore trying this all over, i decided to spot test on a couple of 1-2" areas on my cheek and forehead at night. My skin was well buffered by a light jojoba/sunflower oil application hours before (the directions say to use this on clean, dry skin but I thought I'd try it with a buffer, just in case). I only felt the mildest of tingling when applied, and that might have been aided by the buffer of oil. I left it on for 10 minutes. Immediately after application, the only irritation I noticed were a couple of (before unseen) small comedones on my cheek that had flared, but that went away after an hour. The next day, I didn't notice any difference, good or bad on the spot test areas.ALL OVER APPLICATION1) The morning after my spot test, I did an all over application after waiting around 30 minutes after cleansing, on a bare, dry face. It stung more than the previous night, and during the entire 10 minutes that I left it on. But it was pretty mild, not too unbearable. I rinsed thoroughly and noticed some stinging each time I passed water over my face with my hands. Immediately after rinsing, my skin felt a little prickly and tight so I applied one drop of jojoba oil. After about 5 minutes the prickly feeling subsided considerably then vanished in a couple hours. The only place I saw immediate irritation after rinsing this off was where I had applied it to too close to the orbital half moon area under my eye, on one side. The skin was reddened, this went away after 15-30 min. The rest of my face had no redness. By midday i did noticed that my pores were less visible and my skin felt tighter, but I know that's probably temporary because AHA is after all, an irritant. I'm interested to see of this will provide any exfoliation in the in the few days.Follow up: this didn't produce any flaking or peeling. I did seem to make my skin a little smoother (maybe drier?) but i might be imagining that part. I'm going to try it again in a week or two before making a judgment.

If you have dry or damaged ends, you need this stuff in your life. I lighten my own hair and a consequence of that is my ends can look quite damaged. My hair looks fine the first day or two after washing and blow drying and applying all the cone-filled goo that make the ends look adequate. I only wash my hair once or twice a week though, so eventually in between washings the ends start to reveal their true nature again and look dry and trashed. I've been hunting for a product to apply to my ends around this time to keep things looking good until I can do another blowout. I did have some luck with the Dove Nourishing Oil Leave-In cream, but now I realize that The Ordinary Marula Oil is really where it's at. I put a few drops in my hands, rub them together, run them through the ends or wherever it's looking dry or frizzy, and this oil restores my hair to look healthy and moisturized. It does even add some shine, but it doesn't look shiny in the sense of looking shiny with oil, if that makes sense. This oil isn't too heavy and you'd have to be pretty heavy handed to really weigh your hair down (unless you have ultra fine hair). The smell is also completely neutral, actually no discernible scent to my nose.Editing to add that I've now tried it on my face, too. I have combination skin and it did not break me out, and the next morning my skin felt plump and hydrated. There's also something really pleasing about rubbing the same oil into your hair and face. It feels very chic and (forgive me) French. I was also inspired to try using it before my foundation in the morning, although I never tried an oil before makeup before (oils have always been nighttime moisturizers for me). I use less than I would before bed and pat it onto my skin. The effect before base makeup is applied is really luminous, natural, and youthful. I would consider using this as my sole moisturizer simply because I like the idea of killing two birds with one dropper bottle. I have barely made a dent in my first bottle and I've already purchased a backup.Oh yeah, the price. This is 9.90 CAD for 1 oz. From what I can tell, not a ton of well-known brands make marula oil, and the ones that do tend to charge a ludicrous amount. For example, Acure sells 1 oz of marula oil for 21.99. Drunk Elephant charges 90.00 CAD for 1 oz of marula oil. Um, what? So The Ordinary, as always, is a good deal. As an aside, I love this company. They clearly care about making well formulated products, and that and their prices reflect that they don't think their customers are morons as I genuinely believe a lot of skincare and cosmetic companies do. Please never change, Deciem.

I use this at night (once to twice a week) on its own and I love it! I wake up with very soft & luminous skin! Too be honest, I haven’t a clue what this actually does but as long as my skin keeps looking like it does after using this I will continue using it!

This stuff is strong! I was already using PC Clinical Retinol 1% without any issues but this one made my skin dry, red and flaky after the first few uses. Sign that it really works I guess :’)! I now use it with the basic moisturiser from The Ordinary on top and it has made all the difference. My skin is very soft and I see a difference in texture and appearance after few weeks of using it. Too bad that they have discontinued it but I am curious about the replacements they have introduced.

Good basic serum for dehydrated/dry skin. This helps when my skin is acting up from central heating/retinol/exfoliation/etc.

Good basic moisturiser. I use this over the Retinol 1% from The Ordinary to stop irritation and peeling. Works fine for that! Also on low maintenance days I use this as an easy, no frills moisturiser over the HA serum, leaves my skin soft & supple without making it shiny.

This is a good & strong acid mask! It leaves my skin very soft and I can see the effect immediately the day after. Only con is that I can only use it once a week otherwise my skin will freak out. I think it’s because of the lactic acid, as I never had any irritation from BHA before.

Moisturizes really well. Feels nice on the skin, not greasy, absorbs well.

I had never tried lactic acid before this product so I don't have anything to compare it. I use it two or three times a week, alternating with 1% retinol (TO) and a "rest" day where I focus on hydration. I have been used it for 2 months consistently now. This product is very well priced and the packaging, though not perfect, is functional and allows you to see exactly how much product is left. I really like what this product does to my skin. It leaves it feeling and looking very bright and clear, doesn't break me out, works wonderfully with other products and didn't irritate my skin at all. It feels very gentle yet effective. It exfoliates without feeling drying or leaving a feeling of "tightness". I will continue to purchase this, no doubt.
