Blush -MAC - breezy

Lovely colour.

Very finely milled so much so that I can apply with fingers in a pinch.

Doesn't break me out where most products do.

Highly pigmented.

Good staying powder.

Needs a light hand (on my skin tone at least).

Plastic part of packing came off but managed to push it back in. This was after weeks in my handbag though.

Price is reasonable given the quality and that it seems like it will last a long, long time.

Mascara -MAC - Upward Lash

By watching the various reviews here, you can clearly tell that mascara is o so personal. You like it or not, and a lot has to do with the condition of your lashes.
I really really like this one. OMG, I wish I had found it much sooner... it would have saved me lots of money due to the numberous 'mistakes' I bought.
The small brush is ideal to catch every lash, it volumizes, defines and curls in the most beautiful way.
It gives me wonderful lashes without being over the top.
I am so excited - I found my new HG.

Blush -MAC - Dame

Is there any problems about this color? It is so subtle I have to scrape the pan so many times to get the color.
This texture of this blush is quite hard with very subtle color, I don't think it is satin it should be matte. Even it's really nice color in the pan but can not even see on my cheeks, so disappointed with this. Is there something went wrong?

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Syrup

Love MAC's Lustre/Sheer line, have several shades, as well as several from Urban Decay's sheer line.. They are a nice switch up from a fully opaque lip, though these can be built up, I prefer to apply them in a sheer manner. They don't last super long, but that's expected since they aren't a matte formula. This translates as a sheer rosy/mauve tone on my NW25ish skin tone... Definitely recommend.

Concealers -MAC - Select Moisturecover

I have used this concealer for about a year. It has slowly replaced my other favourite concealer (Nars). My actual skin tone is C40 (Nars-Barcelona) with neutral undertones. The trick for this to work for me was to buy it in shade NW35 - the pink tones run much darker, and this shade may even be a fraction too dark for my C40 skin. With other concealers I have a never ending battle with creasing and I was surprised that this one, being so moisturising, performed better than the heavy duty ones. It is medium coverage for me with one layer, and naturally brightens my dark circles. I prefer it to the Nars radiant creamy concealer (Ginger) for texture and comfort. Though the Nars matches my skintone better, this is easier to work with as it doesn't dry so fast and coverage is buildable without EVER getting cakey (it literally never cakes on me). And I can have quite oily skin but still I blend this out to my cheeks, forehead, nose etc and sometimes just go without foundation, it sits so nice on my skin, it has truly become a staple. Hydrating, long lasting and glowy. For the ladies who are medium/olive toned, give the NW shades a go. And don't knock it if you're oily like me, it's really is a versatile and effective product if you get the right shade.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush - Breath of Plum

Kinda surprised. Thought this may be a bit too dark or pull too much red on me.. I have fair/med skin with a strong red undertone. This blush is so pretty but must use a light hand. I received lots of compliments. My favorites are Blushbaby and Melba for my warm undertones. Depends on what the season is. This is great for fall/winter and goes great with Brave lipstick. I have brown eyes and dark brown/black Hair. Looks stunning!! So happy I tried it!!

Lipstick -MAC - Heroine

Obsessed. First purple lipstick. Blind buy based on reviews. When I first opened it, it was pretty scary looking. Waited a few days to try it and was put off by it. I just wasn’t use to it. I’m a nude lipstick girl so I was definitely out of my comfort zone. Waited a few more days, and tried it again. It’s love! I can’t get enough of it. Surprisingly wearable and perfect for fall/winter. Edgy but girly and very different from all the other nudes, pinks, and reds in my arsenal.

Lipstick -MAC - Russian Red

As I much prefer to buy from cruelty free brands I bought the mini version of this for a specific reason: it fit in my clutch handbag. That said, this is the perfect red for my complexion. I adore the formula, the non oxidizing pigment and longevity. I felt the $10 price was a bit steep for the size however given the amazing quality and color payoff the price is irrelevant. Not too cool (blue reds turn purple on me) and not too warm ( no yellow teeth here!) but an amalgam of both. Russian Red is elegant, classic, sexy and perfect for a black tie gala or worn with a crisp white shirt and jeans. Now, if this were cruelty free I'd buy far more.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 138 Tapered Face Brush

Can I say something nice about this brush? Probably not.
1 - It sheds like crazy. Every large MAC brush that I bought sheds badly, each time I use it I end up with black hair all over my face.
2 - the shape is odd. The end is too pointy, I haven't found a proper use for it, an application technic that I say this brush is the best for. I've tried to use it for multiple reasons:
- applying blush - it is too tapered, I prefer angled blush brushes;
- applying bronzer - too pointy end, the bronzer comes out harsher than I like and need serious blending;
- for contouring - it's too large and not that precise;
- for a highlighter - way too large;
- for setting powder - not bad, but rounded brushes are much better;
- for blending - nothing beats Bobbi Brown blending brush.

In my opinion, it's only good for a garbage bin. I can't recommend buying a seriously shedding oddly shaped brush if you aren't a makeup brush collector.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly

I'm super oily and this is an absolute must to keep eye shadow at Bay! And it lasts years....you apply with your ring finger, maybe 1-2 dip/swipes in the pot, then rub on your lid. It most definitely works!!!! And you will have it forever....I use everyday and barely make a dent. Great easy color to wear as base. I've heard the color bare study has shimmer in it.... sounds pretty!! This is just a base though....looks better when you add some eyeshadow. I love the Loreal iced latte color.... great everyday color!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot - Groundwork

I saw it all over the internet and bought it last week. It's the perfect light brown hue for my light-medium skin. It definitely looks super natural, so if you like a bold eye look, it's not for you. It's great for days where I don't want to make it obvious that I'm wearing eyeshadow: just gives more depth to my eyelids. You can also use it as a sheer tone for an easy smoky eye. I'm a fan of cream eyeshadows, and anything that I can work all over my eyelids with my fingertips or a brush without making a mess or having to be precise. This is just perfect. Love it!

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby

on 10/15/2017 3:41:00 AM

Blushbaby...what can I say? This is a gorgeous rosewood, muted pinky brown blush which I believe is a universally flattering shade. This is my holy grail and I use it all the time, in all seasons. Previously I used UD's afterglow blush in Fetish, which gorgeous as it is, I realised it was slightly too pink. This is more of a neutral blush with enough pink and enough brown to give a healthy flush to the skin. This is the blush that literally goes with ANY makeup look and if you don't have it in your collection...what are you doing? How are you living? The formula on this blush is perfect too. Despite being a sheertone, it is very buildable and will never look powdery or patchy. I use my RT blush brush for a wash of colour and my RT sculpting brush for a more pigmented application. Both ways, this blush looks beautiful and makes me look like I'm healthy and happily flushed. Girls what are you waiting for? Get this - especially if you are warmer more olive toned. This will suit you just perfect!

Lipstick -MAC - Matte - Taupe

on 10/14/2017 5:43:00 PM

I bought this because many reviews say this is a great shade for darker complexions, and I'm still looking for the perfect beige/neutral-nude for lipstick collection.
Matte Taupe is a tan-nude on me which unlike many neutrals doesn't disappear against my MAC C40 skin tone or make me look ill, and has a bit of a retro '70s look which I quite like. It works well with my staple blush shade (Bobbi Brown Tawny) or bronzer, but sometimes can look a little yellow.
The texture is off-putting for me though; it's very matte and very drying. I find I've got to add something on top to make it comfortable. Bobbi Brown's Brownie, another shade I rarely wear on its own, gives a hint of mauve that softens the yellow tinge, and adds a creamy texture and finish to give a more flattering and wearable nude.

Liquid -MAC - Face and Body Foundation

I'm 47 yo, combo skin, with no acne or acne marks, and no major wrinkles yet.. This foundation, as well as MAC Waterweight, and Becca's Aqua Luminous Foundation, are the only 3 foundations I have ever liked enough to repurchase over and over.. I like all 3 for different reasons, and I like Face and Body for the satin finish, healthy luminous look it gives, and that it's build able if needed... None of the MAC or Macy's near me sell the larger size anymore, not sure why, but the smaller bottle is $29, and lasts quite awhile for me. I hate foundation, and I don't hate this, or the other two I mentioned. I prefer to apply this with MAC's #187 duo fibre brush(Sonia Kashuk brand from Target sells an amazing duo fibre brush for under $14) as I feel I get the lightest, most luminous, outcome, with plenty of coverage, which is important for my age and skin type. Definitely recommend.

Concealers -MAC - Studio Finish Concealer

I find this works best if I apply it with my fingers so the product gets warm and a creamy consistency. Covers my acne scars well enough and good for my under eye area. A little goes a long way. Other concealers I have tried do not have good coverage like this does.
