Concealers -It Cosmetics -Bye Bye Breakout Full Coverage Treatment Concealer

This has become my favorite concealer for covering the occasional annoying zit that inevitably pops up to spoil important events such as weddings or job interviews.

Bye Bye Breakout has a wand applicator with a doe's foot sponge tip. The tiny bottle contains only 0.39 ounces of product and the price is $28. However, it's been worth the splurge for me.

The first time I tried it, I had one stubborn spot on my chin and was going to be photographed. Shuddering to think that the blemish would be immortalized in family pictures, I bought this. It worked better for me than my usual MAC Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer (the cream in the flip-top clamshell pot). This is a full coverage concealer that does a great job of camouflaging the blemish. Here's why I feel that it performed better than my MAC concealer - it did not make the area around the spot look cracked or scaly or flaky. The nasty little volcano was not visible in the photos. When I removed my makeup at the end of the day I was happy to see that the zit had shrunk. It was not completely gone but it was a definite improvement.

I've continued to use Bye Bye Breakout as needed. I don't have as many breakouts as I did in my teen years due to the fact that my skin produces less oil than it used to and I'm diligent about skin care. But when I have to reach for this concealer, I'm really pleased with how well this covers up acne and treats it at the same time.

I chose the lightest color, Fair. For reference, here are some of the foundation colors I wear in case that helps you determine your shade: NC20 in MAC, Sand in Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation (the original liquid, not the newer Long-Wear version), Y225 in Make Up For Ever HD, Beige 10 in Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet, and 52 Vanille in Bourjois Healthy Mix.

A word of caution:

Because this has acne-fighting agents in it, it is only for covering up blemishes and is not intended for use around the eyes.

Powder -It Cosmetics -Celebration Foundation SPF 50+

I can't believe there's only one review for this powder foundation! This is a "win" (finally) from It Cosmetics. I've tried their Celebration Foundation Illumination and it was really bad. Additionally tried on the CC powder and it was really cakey and heavy, so I went with this due to a review on YouTube by a woman who loves this powder.

The "light" is for fair skin and it has a strong yellow tone to it - perfect for my NC 20/25 skin. The yellow brings warmth and a healthy look to my skin. The thing about this powder is that when you initially put it on it looks "ok" but after 15 minutes of letting it meld to your skin, it looks absolutely gorgeous. When I first got it I was like "great, $35 down the drain" but then I looked in the rear view mirror 15 minutes later and was really happy with how the powder looked seamless on my skin, giving a skin-like look. Love that it has spf 50 as well to use on top of my sunscreen moisturizer. This is a winner from It! And I'm guessing the Celebration foundation powder (without spf) is also as good. The "Illumination" one and CC one are horrible in my opinion.

Lip Treatments -It Cosmetics -Vitality Lip Flush, Je Ne Sais Quoi

on 1/20/2018 12:27:00 AM

Bought this after debating between and the Dior Lip Glow. (I tried the Dior Lip Glow in coral and it went from a gorgeous peach to a hideous fuschia!) I am so glad I spent $20 on this and decided to skip the Dior Lip Glow. I have never been one who uses traditional lipstick and lip gloss, so I am always on the lookout for a tinted lip balm/stain. Je Ne Sais Quoi glides on and creates a very subtle, natural pink. I am usually a chap stick/balm user and this is my new everyday favorite!
Pros:
Moisturizing
Long lasting
Works with your ph so the color is super natural and flattering
No "lipstick" taste
No sticky lip gloss feeling

Eyes -It Cosmetics -Tightline Full Lash Length Black Mascara Primer

Love the it lash primer .I actually really like the thin applicator brush and use it on my eyebrows as a filler. I apply using really light strokes in a upward motion .,beginning in the front and slowly working my way to the end of my brow. There are many ways to apply it . I just like to concentrate on the areas where the hair on my eyebrows is sparse .When the product is almost gone and slightly dried out it really looks more realistic when applying to eyebrows. I love the applicator brush so much I keep it long after the product is gone . I cleani it off and dip it into mascara and other products.

Moisturizers -It Cosmetics -Confidence in a Cream

My skin is super sensitive. My eyes are even more sensitive than my skin if such a thing is possible. Whatever skin care that I use somehow gets into my eyes and then the next day, I have water works all day long. This is probably one of the few products that does not do that. I don’t think it is very moisturizing but I think it has a firming effect. I cannot say that I saw a drastic change in a day but it does thighten the skin. My skin is usually signaling oily but since using this product, I have not experienced as much oiliness which is a great thing. So I highly recommend this for oily skin.

Cleansers -It Cosmetics -Confidence in a Cleanser

The It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser is a great new facial cleanser that does a superb job at removing makeup and leaving your face as a nice clean canvas for your serums and makeup. I appreciate that they have included beneficial ingredients, unfortunately these don't spend much time on my skin, but I figure it can't hurt. This is a decent size bottle that will last me quite a while and it is a decent price for a more prestige brand. I like that this didn't dry out my skin the way many cleansers do. My more detailed review can be seen here:

BB Cream -It Cosmetics -Your Skin But Better SPF 50 CC Cream

It Cosmetics CC cream lives up to the hype! I've been using this product every time I do my makeup since I got it about 5 months ago. I am in love with the shade Medium. It evens out my skin easily and gives my skin a really warm golden glowy tone to it. My skin is dry and NC 25-30 and because of adaptability of the product, I can wear this shade year round. Most foundations really accentuate my dry patches but this product seems to camouflage them. This product doesn't break me out and is easy to remove! I like that I don't have to scrub it off or have a tedious makeup removal routine like I would have with some heavy duty foundations. I set it with a translucent powder and if i need a bit more coverage I buff a little Bare Minerals over the top and I look naturally flawless. Also can't beat the high SPF!

I have actually replaced this at least three times, it's that good. I just caved on my wanderlust and am going to try something else, but I have had very little desire to, I and that is really unusual for me. I love the full coverage and yet it bonds with my skin to a pleasantly natural look. I think my skin has improved for wearing it and I can't think of any else I would say that about.

Palettes -It Cosmetics -Naturally Pretty Vol. 1 Matte Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette

on 1/8/2018 1:57:00 AM

foto

PRICE: $42.00

DESCRIPTION FROM THE IT COSMETICS WEBSITE:
The original lid-loving phenomenon! Discover your most naturally pretty eyes with this must-have palette—featuring all the universally flattering shades you need for day to night, no matter the occasion! Naturally Pretty™ includes 14 anti-aging shadows that, with a tap of the bonus Transforming Pearl shade, turn from matte to radiant pearl for endless eye-opening color combinations. Developed with plastic surgeons and infused with hydrolyzed collagen, real silk, peptides and proprietary No-Tug Technology™, each talc-free shadow glides on beautifully to brighten your eyes and smooth your lids. Shades can be worn alone or mixed together, wet or dry, and as shadows or liners, making this the ideal palette for every IT Girl’s makeup collection!

The shadows are all formulated in the USA.

I debated and debated about getting this palette and finally just did it after going back and forth for a while.
It comes in a soft pink velvet type of case with a magnetic closure. I kept the box and put it back in the box after I use it to help keep it cleaner. Not a fan of the packaging, what were they thinking? How hard is it to make a palette that you can clean? I will probably use it up before it gets too dirty.

It has 14 very usable matte shades. The 15th color is larger than the others and is a transforming pearl. At first I thought it was kind of gimmicky but I actually use it a lot. I use it on the brow bone and also to soften other colors while blending if I feel one is a bit darker than I want. I find these shadows extremely high quality. There is zero fallout and they are plenty pigmented for me, buttery, glide onto the lid, blend like a dream and stay put all day. I have to be careful to not get too much on the brush because it just takes a little. I don’t even feel the need to tap my brush. The pigment is just perfect. Sometimes too much pigment is not something I want if I don’t have time to spend 30 minutes blending. These blend very well and have just enough pigment and unlike many (or most) mattes they never look chalky or powdery. They are very smooth and silky. Anastasia has so many pretty mattes and I have many of them but almost all of them are so powdery compared to these. If I use my ABH shadows, I always do my eyes first because of the fall out. That problem is non-existent with this palette.

If you are looking for bold and exciting this is not for you or you are going to have to use another palette with it. The colors are more for an everyday, or a softer, more natural, more muted look. There are not any really bright, vivid colors in this palette but there are lots of really pretty, very wearable colors and I can create lots of very lovely looks. Most of the colors are more cool toned but you can also do a beautiful warmer look with some of the colors on the bottom row. I think it’s really nice to have more cool tones for a change, I have way too many warm toned palettes and I get sick of them. I debated about the Naked 2 or this one and after trying Naked 2 and being less than wowed, I decided to try this one because of the colors and ingredients. The colors all look nice with my blonde hair and blue eyes.

I really like the colors in this palette but it’s the quality of the shadows that really makes me LOVE it! I can do a single color all over the lid with many of the colors and it looks very nice or I can use several to create a bolder dimensional look and they all blend like a dream and feel so silky on my eyes, no inconsistencies from color to color. Pigmentation is excellent dry and you can use them wet if you prefer a bolder more dramatic look. I can do a bold smoky eye for evening or a very pretty natural look for daytime.

These shadows have zero talc or fragrance. I listed the ingredients below at the end of this review.

This is a good undereye concealer in terms of coverage and color/brightening. The consistency is really frustrating though. You absolutely have to apply this before your other makeup because it is so thick. Like toothpaste thick and really hard to blend. It's not something I reach for when I'm doing my everyday makeup because it's just too high maintenance (would rather use maybelline age rewind), but if I'm going out for an event and willing to spend more time then I'll use it.

Mascara -It Cosmetics -Superhero Mascara

This came in a sample form and then I bought the full size one. I had low expections as tend to be fussy on mascara and eye liner. It can irritate the eyes or smear. So I would throw it on for unimportant things as I was running out the door. It was fast to put on and stayed put. I had no problem with clumping. I have a mascara comb for clumping but don’t use it with this. (I usually use primer and a tubing mascara and comb out my lashes.). If I don’t want to go to all that trouble then I grab this one. I do have long lashes so it’s easy to get length for me. This adds volume and does not run. It also comes off easy at the end of the day. I thought it was a great product and easy. I got mine at Ulta on line.

Makeup Brushes -It Cosmetics -Love Beauty Fully Love is the Foundation Brush

on 1/4/2018 11:46:00 AM

foto

This brush is different from the silver-handled It for ULTA brushes. It has a cute metallic pink handle and the synthetic bristles are in the shape of a heart. I paid $30 for this brush during Breast Cancer Awareness month. I initially balked at the price, but I was told that some money from my purchase would be donated to Look Good Feel Better, an American Cancer Society program.

At first I really enjoyed using the brush. It's lightweight and it did a great job of applying foundation evenly. It was soft enough, slightly softer than my old Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which retails for $8.99. I trusted the It Cosmetics brand because I have one of their eye shadow brushes, #112, and I love it.

However, the "Love Beauty Fully Love is the Foundation Brush" was a disappointment because after three months of light use and a handful of careful washings, the bristles began falling out in clumps. I have a Kat Von D foundation brush that is older that doesn't shed. I've had my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush for at least two years and it doesn't shed either. I don't know if It Cosmetics didn't use enough glue, or the right kind of glue, or if I just happened to get a lemon. I dry my brushes upside down to prevent water from collecting inside the ferrule, so most of my brushes do not shed. Many of my brushes from MAC and Trish McEvoy are fifteen years old or older and they don't shed.

This pink, heart-shaped "Love" brush only lasted three months. I think they offer it annually during the month of October but I will not buy another one. My It for ULTA eye shadow brush seems to be hardier (or in this case, "heartier"). I haven't noticed any shedding from that one (knock on wood).
