What MiaGator said. Doesn't do much for removing makeup, even non-waterproof. Maybe if I were to try applying it three times instead of two, but 1) I wouldn’t bet on it, and 2) why, when others work on the first pass? Oh, and this was with eyeliner pencil and shadow, both from NYX.

Is it the BEST cake brow powder out there? As far as quality, probably not, in comparison with higher-end (and more expensive) renditions from other brands. However, it is in my opinion the absolute best value. The formula of the wax and two powder colors is very good, and certainly superior to other products within the same price range. It does have a tendency to fade over the course of the day, but nothing that can’t be solved with proper priming and/or setting. On days when my skin is particularly oily, I’ve experienced some smudging, but probably would have been fine if I reapplied setting powder midway through the day. Honestly, I’d rather pay $6 for a ‘very good’ product that requires a little extra effort, rather than pay $40 or so for the top quality. I decided to buy Benefit’s new Foolproof Brow Powder ($25) in the darkest shade and granted it doesn’t come with any wax but the pigment of the powder was absolutely awful- barely visible on my fair skin.
I’m constantly impressed by what I perceive as the added value NYX brings by minor add-ons that other brands overlook. Rather than just having a pot of one powder color, this products comes with the wax AND not one but two complementary shades, which when you think about it means there are many ways you can vary your brow result. Usually I dip in the wax and pick up the darker shade to define the arch and create a line under the outer 3/4, pick up a bit more wax and the lighter color to line the inner ¼ of the bottom, and then without wax use the darker powder to define the tail and the lighter one to fill in. Sometimes I’ll use their brow wand thingy first to make the look more natural. This creates a polished but not overdone effect which I prefer over all the totally painted on pomade look that is so popular these days. If my approach is too much effort (though I think it’s worth it) you can always just use one or both powders without wax to quickly fill in sparse areas.
One more added bonus- if you’re not a product junkie or just don’t feel like toting a complete makeup bag or kit around, you can do a quick one-color basic eye look by using a fluffy brush to blend the powder through your crease.
If only I could write papers for school as enthusiastically and in depth as I can write about NYX’s cake brow mini palette....better get back to work 😫 but hope this helps!!

I should start this off by saying that I absolutely adore NYX. They are killing the drugstore makeup game. But sadly I just don't like this lip liner. I bought it in the shade Dark Red to wear with my NYX Snow White lippie. It's a lovely color, and it really stops lipstick from bleeding or feathering.
However (and this is the deal breaker for me) unless I over-balm my lips, this product drags across my lips terribly! And it breaks, even though I don't use a lot of pressure when applying it. I just bought it about a month ago, and have only used it about 5 times, yet I'm almost down to the end of it because it keeps breaking off. I find that unacceptable! I will stick to NYX's slim lip pencils, as I'm never dissatisfied with them.

Good product. Great price. Don’t go wasting your money on some expensive powder. This one does the job.

HOLY GRAIL BATMAN I love this lippie. I own this color in WOKE UP LIKE DIS and it makes me feel PRETTY. Like others have stated, this is basically Lip Lingerie (but better). It has more of a thin, oily, whipped texture and goes on very lightly. Its better to build up little by little to desired opacity with these to avoid patchiness. I bought Fire Dancer previously and returned it to Ulta because it was a little patchy, but I'm certain upon reading reviews it was my fault for the patchiness and I wish I hadn't returned it so quickly. I apply it with my finger tip little by little and blend it really well. This gives me huge full lips and causes a "blotted" effect which I LOVE. Probably going to treat myself to more colors this week tbh.

I've used this for about 4 months, hated it as time went on, now I can't stand using it. It is a very powdery messy formula like flour. I was expecting finely milled but okay, AT FIRST my makeup looks nice so that's fine? Wrong! I have combination skin (oily tzone dry cheeks). Within the 30mins between doing my makeup and leaving the house I look in the mirror and see little patches of shine already gathering in specific areas. At this point it looks okay, slightly too dewy in the wrong places, but okay, so I add more of this flour in just those areas. Two hours later and the foundation has already started to give me new wrinkles. It has faded, moved, migrated, transferred everywhere. Ive used this foundation (Nars - luminous weightless foundation) for years now and it works so great normally, but no matter what I do, how many times I touch up, this powder just seems to *break everything down*. The two products don't work together at all, nor does this powder seem to work with my concealers. It causes my foundation/concealer/anything to crease and wrinkle because it's just slipping and sliding around every crevice on my skin. My makeup literally congeals, there will be shiny blobs of makeup in patches on my forehead. The frustrating thing is, I barely put on any foundation there! But I do powder my TZone a lot, and that is exactly where the pooling hits me worst, these are honestly the places I need least coverage, my cheeks however are scarred and freckled with a lot of redness. And because I have dry skin here I use less powder yet the makeup seems to look less ugly here, but patchy nonetheless. To top off this greasy mess, it has also oxidised, so I'm now looking like I've aged, tanned and melted at work. I don't know why this didn't work for me, as it's worked for many others, but I really gave it a long trial and finally give up on it. I tried to save a few bucks, but I'm going back to the MAC prep+prime finishing powder, which is so much finer, and silky, and actually has true holding power for me without changing the colour of my skin. Thumbs down Nyx.

I’m genuinely surprised to see such negative reviews of this! I personally really like it. It’s a standard clear silicone primer that makes your skin feel really smooth. I find foundation applies really nicely over it. As far as extending make up wear time, I do notice a difference when I use this versus no primer. It allows my make up to wear evenly, as opposed to no primer where my forehead would break down very quickly with oils and my cheeks appear dry (thank you combo skin). Instead this helps control the oiliness and the breakdown of foundation, and also diminishes the dryness of other areas.

i've been using makeup for years, but just recently got into doing my brows routinely a few weeks ago. i've sporadically tried other brow products in the past but never really like the results enough to continue doing it on a daily basis. however, ever since i started using this product, i've been hooked. the fine point on the pencil makes it super easy for a brow novice like me to fill in the sparse tail end of my brows as well as filling in the rest of my brow to make my brows look related to one another. the price point is just right ($9.99 at ulta, but they run NYX deals all the time). it doesn't smudge or fade through my days or 12 hour shifts at work. easy to remove. doesn't cause any breakouts. i'm so happy with this product that i would happily repurchase over and over again.

I just bought this yesterday and couldn't wait to try it out. I got hooked on Hourglass veil mineral primer through a sample from Sephora, but just can't justify buying it, as it's price tag is beyond exorbitant. Maybe during tax return... Now I've heard the angel veil is a dupe for the Hourglass so I went out and bought it because I've got several events this month that I desire to look flawless at. This product does come out thicker than the hourglass, and slightly chunky. But once mixed between my fingers, it goes on very similarly to the Hourglass. It's velvety and smooth, glides over my skin, and fills my pores beautifully. It doesn't leave me with a white cast as some others have stated, but that could be because I'm very pale. My makeup looked utterly flawless, it lasted an 8 hour day, with no creasing, no oil breakthrough, and no sliding. I'm very impressed! Do I think it's a dupe for Hourglass? No, but it's quality is about the same. It fills my pores in better than the Hourglass, but the finish is a bit more matte than the Hourglass. I like a dewy finish, but I can solve that with highlighter, and to be honest, I'm less shiny at the end of the day with the angel veil. I like it better in fact. With time, this just may become an HG product for me

Another big miss from NYX. The packaging and brush are nice, the formula is awful. This mascara adds neither length nor volume. It is very thin and liquidy and takes a very long time to dry: it transferred to my lids and undereye even 10 minutes after applying. I would only recommend this to someone who already has long full lashes and just wants to tint them, but even then, there are better products out there. It did not flake, but smudged after an hour or so. Easy to wash off with soap and water, thank god.

This was awful for me. The coverage is sheer, if that. If anything it highlighted my dark circles by coating them in sticky grease. It has a strong waxy odor like cheap, off-brand crayons. The finish is extremely dewy, as in it never sets, and will settle into every crease. I attempted to build it up but it just slid down and made a mess. I would consider purchasing this if they quadrupled the amount of pigment in it and did something about the odor. NYX can really be hit or miss, and this is a HUGE miss.

This is one of the worst shades I've ever tried. On me it looks like a greyish purple and it washes me out completely. I threw it in the trash can after using it for one day. The staying power is average I think (perhaps for about three hours or so). I think I looked like a corpse:) For some reason I think I need at least some warmth in my lipstick shades and there was none in this one.

huge color payoff, really creamy though, so it moves around a bit on the eyelids, especially if you have greasy ones like i do. I dyed my hair a cinnamony dark auburn and needed a brow pencil and struggled for like a week to find the perfect color for my dark skin and reddish hair hair and this did the trick when set with some translucent powder after. Such a beautiful color and I even used i as a blush!

Bought in shade called Alien. Goes well with my black lipsticks. Doesn't feather, or bleed into lip lines, makes lipstick more opaque and last longer. Helps to keep certain black lipsticks from bleeding. The only con is this is kind of dry, but it's a matte finish so that's to be expected. It doesn't drag as I'm applying it, so long as I have lip balm applied, so no points off for that. All in all a very good lip liner.

I bought this lippie in Chambord (black) and I love it! I bought a black lip liner from NYX in alien to wear with it. I always use liner with dark lippies, so I can't attest as to how this works without a liner. This product is completely opaque after 3 swipes over my lips. It's not transfer proof, but it does set nicely after about 10 mins. Not matte, but not glossy either; a nice satin finish. Happy with my purchase and I recommend it.
