Wow okay! I wasn't expecting this to work as well as it has. I've been using it nightly for two weeks on my eyelashes and the corners of my brows and I definitely see a change in growth. I accidently pulled out the inner corner eyelashes trying to remove a crappy mascara and gave looked all gappy ever since and this is really bringing them back! Would recommend!

This just plain and simple works. where I live, it's available in a felt tip pen applicator. Contains formaldehyde (i would prefer to avoid it, but at this concentration and given I've only used it for short periods once every few years, I'm not worried), which strengthens keratin cross bonds, binding the layers of the nail together. It's to only be applied to the tip of the nail, once a week. If applied on entire nail, formaldehyde may cause the nail to lift off of the nail bed. Using it more often than weekly makes the nail excessively hard, thus not flexible, so when it presses against something, it breaks rather than bends. A person a page down gave it one star because her entire tips snapped off from using it daily. That's exactly why it's to be used once a week, on soft, splitting nails and stop using it immediately when they've hardened. Like someone else mentioned, mavala customer support is happy to advise, so take your time to figure out if and how you should use it. It's essential to know whether the nail is splitting, or breaking before using this. If the entire tip of the nail just breaks off (snaps, like a reviewer below reports), it needs flexibility. If it splits, like at the sides, and you try changing the shape of the tip to file off the split side of the nail, if it bends and peels, it needs strengthening, and a formaldehyde product should work. If used as per instructions, the pen works. It's also ridiculously easy to apply and dries instantly, and the pen packaging makes it easy to keep in a purse, work desk, etc.

Do not buy a backup. I have had the same pen for YEARS and it refuses to dry out. I don't think you can pan this one up in a lifetime. I've never had issues with the tip of the pen either. The scent is also not a big problem with the pen.

I have to keep my nails short these days for work, and I've found effective natural alternatives for nail care, plus I still have this pen lying around, so I won't have to repurchase any time soon. But if I wanted something to prevent my nails splitting and to preserve length (or if my nails peeled), I wouldn't even think about buying anything other than this (unless the garlic thing works. I'll try that at some point too).

Mascara -MAVALA -Eye-Lite Waterpoof Mascara

foto

It claims to be waterproof but it smudges constantly. Once I apply mascara, I do not want to check my face every 10 min to make sure I do not resemble a raccoon. I think it does give you nice volume and thickness for a modest feather fan of lashes that looks professional. Nothing over the top. But its not worth it because of the smudges and I really doubt its waterproof.

This is absolutely awful. It nade my nails chip and break even more. It does not work and ruins your nails. Best to stick with oil to strengthen the nails from within.

Treatments -MAVALA -Mava-Strong

on 7/28/2018 3:05:00 AM

According to Mavala, Mava-Strong is a fortifying and protective base coat for nails. Mavala recommends it for for soft, thin, and breaking nails. It's clear and contains a crystal resin that's supposed to make the nail plate feel more resistant and thicker. It can be used by itself if not wearing polish. I've used it as a base coat for four weekly manicures and my thin and weak nails don't feel any stronger and I had some nails break. When I removed my polish after the fourth week, my nails looked dry.
I do like the size and shape of Mavala's bottles. They're round, which makes it very easy to roll them around in my hands to mix the contents.

Polishes -MAVALA -Thinner for nail polish

The dispenser top works very well to add one drop at a time to a nail polish bottle. It thins out polish and lasts a long time.

Polishes -MAVALA -Touch Of Provence

Touch of Provence is a lilac (cool toned) polish with very subtle shimmer running through it. I bought this polish a long time ago, but I kept putting off trying it. This polish was such a pleasant surprise - it looked soft and feminine. It gives you enough colour not to look boring, but it is neutral enough to be worn at work. I was worried that the shimmer would make it look like a frost polish, but instead it gave this polish glowing, porcelain-like effect.

The formula was very good, which was also a surprise. I thought it would be thin and sheer, but I only needed two coats to give me full opacity. It lasted well on me too.

if you like soft, feminine polishes with just a hint of colour, I would highly recommend you try Touch of Provence.

Polishes -MAVALA -Cherry Cosmic

Cherry Cosmic is a berry-coloured, glitter polish. It came out last year in Mavala Cosmic Collection. As soon as I saw the pictures of this collection I wanted it all. Luckily I only bought 1 polish to begin with.

I applied 2 coats, which covered my nail well. But, it dries to a textured finish (I do not like textures). I ended up applying 3 coats of a top coat to smooth it out and to give it that shiny, glass-finish I was after. But the following morning when I run my finger over the top, it was still slightly rough. I love Mavala polishes, which is why I found this one so disappointing.

It reminded me very much of China Glaze Where's The Party Cannon At. Only Cherry Cosmic is richer/darker and less glittery. Needless to say I will not be repurchasing this polish or buying any more from this collection.

Lash Treatments -MAVALA -Double-Lash

I bought this product a few years ago when I was living in London and accidently burnt all the eyelashes off one of my eyes. It was really, really obvious, I had brittle stumps and had my graduation 4 weeks later.

I bought this beauty from Boots for a very small price in comparison to other eyelash serums and my expectations were low.

After using religiously on my one damaged eye for a month, my eyelashes grew back in their entireity and were even thicker than before.

I've recently used Revitalash and noticed that my eyelashes are falling out after 2 months plus other side effects so I am about to swap out Revitalash for Mavala as I think the product is much less harsh and will do the job of thickening out my lashes over the next 3 weeks prior to my wedding.

PROS:
Price
Thickens eyelashes
Helps grow back lost lashes

CONS:
Packaging - looks like a nail polish
Won't necessarily grow your lashes like Revitalash, rather this will give maybe a small amount of length but mostly body

Polishes -MAVALA -Samarkand

Samarkand is a blue violet, cream polish. I reached for this colour because I wanted to start the year by trying out Pantone Colour of the year 2018 - Ultra Violet and Samarkand was one of the closest offerings in my collection. I love this colour, it's fun.

I rarely have a problem with Mavala formula and this polish does not disappoint. It applies well. I used 2 coats. There was no problem with drying time (although I always use quick dry top coat) or wear time.

Lash Treatments -MAVALA -Double-Lash

I initially used this product a few years ago, as often as I remembered to anyway, and was impressed with the condition of my lashes but for some reason I didn't repurchase. But lately my eyelashes have been looking thin and in need of a bit of TLC and also as I have sensitive eyes I thought best to go with what I know helped before spending money on other products that may make my eyes react.
This time around I have been much more consistent with my application, using this each night rather than every now and again and my eyelashes now look great and feel so much stronger. I haven't noticed a major difference in length but they look much thicker and feel more substantial. I now use on my eyebrows to see if it will thicken them up any. I will definitely repurchase when my current bottle runs out regardless though for my weedy weak lashes.

Polishes -MAVALA -Nail color cream

on 11/9/2017 8:24:00 PM

foto

Pros:
- huge color selection;
- vibrant opaque colors. Can easily get away with one coat;
- small size (5ml). I like the concept of having less polish, I've never finished a full bottle.

Cons:
- it only lasts about 3 to 4 days before chipping;
- small polish equals a small brush, small brush with short chubby handle isn't the easiest combo to work with.

I had many of them while living in Switzerland, but I won't buy them again. They are good polishes but aren't great.

Top/Base Coats -MAVALA -Ridge Filler

on 8/24/2017 2:01:00 PM

This ridge filler really works and it adds quite a lot of strength to the nail. It works great as a nail polish base for with thin, weak nails. It has matte(a little bit satin) finish and peachy, skin like tint. It works for smoothing the surface of the nail for guys as well.
It has really similar feel and texture to the 2nd phase of mavala's strengthening treatment with nylon fibers.
