Shampoo -TRESemme -Purify and Replenish Deep Cleansing Shampoo

on 3/19/2018 6:38:00 PM

Okay so let me preface this by saying I hate all other TRESemme products. The conditioners are awful, and the heat protectant spray is diabolical. I will never buy a TRESemme conditioner - even if It was on sale for a $1 I'd give it a miss.

However, this is a game changer. I have used a large variety of expensive, to less expensive, shampoo's and conditioners. I have thick hair with a tendency to get frizzy AND oily at the roots and dry/flat at the ends. Ideally I like to wash my hair every 4-5 days, use dry shampoo in between so my natural oils can get further down the hair shaft. However, recently my hair has been feeling weighed down and has been needing a wash every two days or so and feeling 'stringy' So I looked into clarifying shampoo. Ideally I wanted the Neutrogena No Residue, but desperate and with this the only clarifying shampoo at the supermarket...I took the dive (reluctantly as I hate TRESemme)

This shampoo is fantastic. The first thing that got me was the minimal ingredients list, what you want for a clarifying shampoo. The ingredient list includes Niacinamide (B3) and Biotin, both strengthening for the hair. Despite this, my hair felt soft, voluminous, bouyant and CLEAN. My hair has not felt this thick and healthy at the ends in so long. Additionally, my hair is only now getting greasy on day 4!

I would recommend this highly if you would wash your hair once or so a week and hate product build-up on your hair!

Styling Products -TRESemme -24-hr Body Foaming Mousse

I bought this because I've been wanting to try it out. It's just ok though dries hair out kinda doesn't add that much body but it does add a little I guess. Got it for around five dollars at Walmart. I might try using it again with a blow dryer and see if it does any better.

Styling Products -TRESemme -Micro Mist Smooth hold Level 2 Hairspray

on 3/9/2018 4:00:00 PM

I 've been on the hunt for a flexible hold hair spray that doesn't smell too obnoxious and more importantly won't give me hives. I like the humidity proof Tresemme with the purple label but the smell can be overwhelming for me and if I use too much it can weigh my hair down. I saw this advertised and picked it up at CVS for under $10. So far this has been the best hair spray I've ever used I usually blow out my medium fine curly hair and use minimal products or it looks flat and weighed down. Maybe shine serum and if needed a little texture spray. After trying a new cut that looked great when I left the salon I was getting frustrated that I couldnt maintain the style at home. No matter what I did my ends and bangs would look crazy and the top flat by the afternoon. Hair spray helped but the good ones give me hives. This dries almost instantly so it won't frizz the hair I just blow dried smooth. It's great for piecing out layers and giving hair texture and light hold without layering too many products in and weighing it down. It doesn't make my hair crunchy or stiff either. If you have fine hair and are looking for a natural hold for a polished look this is a budget friendly drug store gem. I hope it doesn't get discontinued I'll be so pissed.

Shampoo -TRESemme -Expert with Biotin Repair & Protect Shampoo

on 3/9/2018 9:17:00 AM

I have fine, color-treated hair that can get oily at the roots and dry at the ends. This shampoo felt creamy as it lathered, but made my hair look as though it had been washed with straight-up detergent. The only repair aspect seems to be a coating. This is way too harsh. Maybe someone with oily hair who wanted a clarifying shampoo would like this. But it’s hardly marketed for that. Back to my Fekkai Glossing Shampoo that is free of silicones but is not drying like this one.

Shampoo -TRESemme -Smooth & Silky Shampoo for Dry or Brittle Hair

I really like this shampoo! I bought it for basically free at CVS (sale, plus coupon... no brainer) so, I thought I would try it. I have very sensitive skin & scalp, dry/reaction prone scalp, straight, fine & highlighted hair. This works perfectly for me. It cleans my hair, rinses super easily, leaves my hair hydrated enough (I always use a conditioner in the shower and some sort of a leave-in conditioner out of the shower) yet bouncy and light. Very nice! I feel like my hair blow dries much faster after having washed with this shampoo. I typically wash my hair every 2-3 days (usually 3 days),& alternate shampoos (with the Giovanni 2Chic blackberry one and the Klorane Chamomile shampoo)... this has definitely entered the rotation. The scent is enjoyable (though no scents remain on my hair post-shower), the texture is nice. It did not cause scalp irritation or dry out my hair or skin. I would repurchase, especially given the super low price.

Hair Treatments -TRESemme -Split Remedy Leave-in Conditioning Treatment

Great product, only thing is when I put too much in, I find it can throw my platinum blonde off a shade or so. That’s the only downside. Would work fine with darker hair though.

Dry Shampoo -TRESemme -Fresh Start - Volumizing Dry Shampoo for Fine/Oily Hair

on 3/4/2018 5:23:00 PM

My hair is a mix of oily and dry, if I go 2 days without washing it it is a greasy mess but if I wash it every day I have flakes. I usually wash every other day to try to balance out.
I use tresemme shampoo and conditioner so I thought I could trust this to be good as well. But it is not. First, it claims no residue which is false. It leaves a white cast on my dark hair, it actually makes my roots look like they're gray. And the worst part of this dry shampoo is that it smells just like hair spray. I hate the smell of hair spray! I have only used this about 3 times and 2 of those I had to wash my hair anyhow because of the smell.

Shampoo -TRESemme - Tresemme Pro Collection Thick & Full Shampoo, with Glycerol

I noticed there weren't any reviews for this yet, so I thought I would start it up. I was intrigued by this shampoo because it uses micellar technology to cleanse. If you aren't familiar with micellar water used to cleanse skin, it's a watery substance that has molecules that attract and trap dirt and debris making it easy to remove from skin. I was also excited about the fact that it has glycerol in it, which is said to penetrate the hair shaft and expand it making the hair appear fuller.

A little background, I have very fine hair, but a lot of it which makes it very tangly, greasy after 8 hours of washing, and limp and blah. I've been using this shampoo with the conditioner every other day for about 1 month. I must say, I'm really surprised by it. I have to be careful with some shampoos and conditioners because I will notice a lot of hair fall, usually with the first use which will cause me to stop using it immediately(huge waist of money). This combo did not do that, plus one! Plus two, it actually cleans my hair really well. It feels really clean but not squeaky which is good IMO. Plus three is that it actually does what it says it's going to do, creating volume and bounce. Plus four-it smells so good. I don't know how to explain it but it isn't fruity or floral. It's just a clean fresh smell that I really like. Plus five- my hair goes two whole days before it gets greasy which is a miracle.

Give this a try, it's $4.98 at Walmart!

Hair -TRESemme -Expert Botanique Damage Recovery with Macadamia Oil

I and MANY OTHERS on the Internet think certain hair products have a DISTINCT odor. I will say this conditioner smelled that very way—awful. So bad that I am taking it back. My husband asked me never to use it again.
Also, I find Shea Naturals shea butter (not the coconut) to have this same, DISTINCT, horrible scent.

Guess I'm the odd one out here! I like the smell and it does make my hair feel nice and soft, unfortunately, after a day my roots look really drab and greasy.

Shampoo -TRESemme -Clarifying Shampoo

on 1/27/2018 3:16:00 AM

I have used this for years and currently it is the best shampoo I own even though it's old. It works. It's so huge that a bottle lasts me several years. It used to be called Clarifying, and now it's called Deep Cleanse, both with the green label and it's the same shampoo. It's often on sale for $3.99.

I use various gels and mousse to style my hair, and so after a few days the hair gets a buildup, and if I use this once in a while it gets it all off.

Recently I tried a tea tree shampoo that left a coating on the hair and this got it off. What's more, this left my hair fluffy and with a natural wave. I don't use a conditioner after, since the object is to get rid of the product buildup. Even normal shampoos and conditioners will sometimes cause a buildup and leave my hair flat, no matter how much I rinse.

There is no matching conditioner for this brand, and I have not used any of the other types of Tresemme shampoos so I have no idea how they would work.

Unfortunately this has some questionable ingredients and I shouldn't be using it at all. But using ultra pure shampoos does not give me the nice wavy effect. I may have to stop using this. I'm going to test some others.

Styling Products -TRESemme -Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray

on 1/19/2018 12:00:00 PM

I originally bought this product on a whim at Walmart. My intended purpose was for heat protection. I have uncolored dark blonde STRAIGHT hair, that is relatively thin. While I wasn’t completely impressed with this product in regard to heat protection, it is the ONLY thing I’ve found that will help my hair hold curl.

Curling my hair without it is a complete WASTE of time. I keep in on hand. It gives my hair a lot of texture, and great hold for curls. I don’t use it unless I plan to add curl because I really don’t care for the feel that it gives my hair.

Shampoo -TRESemme -Expert Selection Detox & Restore with Green Tea and Ginger

I really, really enjoy the fresh herbal scent of this shampoo.
It is very refreshing and rejuvenating.
I also love whenever I do a double cleanse I feel a slight cooling/tingling on the scalp but it is not quite as intense as peppermint, which I like for everyday use.
Like others have mentioned with continuous use I have noticed my hair can get start to get a little greasy.
I have naturally oily hair so this nothing to me and with this shampoo, I feel like it doesn't get as bad as it can with others.
That being said to avoid this I do use another shampoo when I notice it starting to get too oily and this really helped with this problem.
Another thing that I liked is that this shampoo was not as irritating to my scalp and I was able to tolerate it well. I will definitely repurchase this in the future.

Styling Products -TRESemme -Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray

I never knew that my hair can smoke so badly as during the couple times when I used this spray.
I have no idea how does it suppose to protect from the heat with the water as the main ingredient. I sprayed it all over my head and with the help of the hair straightener, it started evaporating from my previously completely dry hair with the insane amount of smog. My hair got fried. I had to cut some severely damaged hair off and I will never use this product again.
My hair is thin and has a very high porosity, assuming how popular and highly rated this product is I think thicker or low porosity hair don't experience the same issues, but I didn't even spray too much waited for a couple for the product to dry before using a flat iron. In my opinion, a product that creates smog can't be beneficial for anyone's hair.

Hair -TRESemme -Expert Botanique Damage Recovery with Macadamia Oil

Good value! Lacks THAT tresemme smell that makes me nauseous, actually smells rather nice, an expensive vanilla kind of smell. It leaves my hair really soft, smooth, and nicely scented.

My only gripe is that even with very dry, frizzy hair, this set is too moisturizing. But on the other hand, this means I can actually skip conditioner on the top part of my head and use it from the ears down, like ''they'' often tell you to. This isn't possible with any other product I've found! If I ignore it though, I'll be greasy by Day 2.

Very well formulated, I'm just as satisfied with it as I am most proper salon shampoos. Unlike the basic Tresemme, this really does look, feel, perform, and smell ''salon quality''.
