Shampoo -The Body Shop -Banana Shampoo

I’ve been coming back to this for 20 years now! I first got it in my teens when I would spend hours at The Body Shop sniffing all the bottles. I 100% get it for the gorgeous smell - the formula itself is pretty basic to me, but sometimes that’s all I want. It neither strips my fine, long hair nor does it weigh it down. No bells and whistles, just a shampoo that gets your hair clean and smells great, especially in the summer.

Treatments (Face) -The Body Shop -DROPS OF YOUTH Youth Liquid Peel

Really disappointed with this product.....very sticky!! The product gets stuck in fine hairs on your face and it requires some force with a face wash to remove. Even after removing product it feels as though residue is still left on the face.

Liquid -The Body Shop -Fresh Nude Foundation

Love the way this looked when freshly applied. It has light, glowy coverage and feels nice on. It blends like a dream and it was easy for me to find a shade to match my skin tone. Problem was it looked very splotchy and separated on my face after a few hours. My dry areas looked very noticeable and my oily zones had separated foundation on them. Would not repurchase.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop -Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream

foto

I started using the Vitamin E night cream in the hopes that it would address some light acne scarring. Previously, I had used the Body Shop's Aloe night cream, as I have sensitive skin. When I purchased the cream, an employee at the Body Shop warned me that some people with sensitive skin have allergic reactions to the Vitamin E line. I have not had any allergic reactions or skin irritation from the product, but I also wouldn't say I've noticed a significant different in my skin's brightness. It's a perfectly serviceable night cream: a little thick, but not overly so, and moisturizing, but it's not a holy grail product for me and it's not one I'd go out of my way to purchase again.

Moisturizers -The Body Shop -Tea Tree anti-imperfection daily solution

Had dry dull skin and needed new products so tried this along with philosophy moisturizer and my skin has improved in under a week. My skin looks and feels a lot softer and clearer. A little product goes a long way.

Why did they have to discontinue this foundation. It was fantastic, and a Perfect colour match for my skin. It looked and felt great on. Agh!!

Moisturizers -The Body Shop -Vitamin E Moisture Cream

This is an soso product.. First of all, the smell is so strong that I honestly don't feel like putting it on my face. It has a gel like texture which makes it good for my combination skin, but I don't feel that it does anything for my skin. Ok maybe it gives a temporary glow when I've just applied it, but that's where it ends. Also, its way too overpriced for the tiny amount you get. And yes, this cream broke me out. Sad, since this is quite a famous product, but I guess I'm not lucky when it comes to TBS skincare. I've switched to Nivea soft which is a much better alternative and I'm quite happy.

I have combination skin. And I have a love hate relationship with this cream. The dry skin I have sometimes gets so dry it starts getting flaky, this cleared it up. I also have sensitive skin and the first time I used this my skin got really red and it burned a bit which is a big no no. But if you don't use a harsh or exfoliating wash this cream doesn't have that reaction. Over all my skin is really soft and no more dry patches... So I'm happy with it. Wouldn't recommend to people with sensitive skun though ✨

I really like this cream. I feel like it hydrates my skin well and I personally really like the smell, although it could be more subtle. It's also a good price compared to high-end competitors, and I'll buy the travel size which will last me a while.

Masks -The Body Shop -Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow mask

on 6/3/2018 5:54:00 AM

This is, without a doubt, the most perfumed face mask I've ever used. I usually don't mind a little bit of perfume in skin care, and most of what I use have some kind of fragranced to it. But we're talking about fragrance being in the bottom three ingredients - in this mask it's way up there in the list (12th ingredient out of 33). I don't understand why they would do that. The scent is really strong and not very pleasant either. It also has alcohol denat as one of the main ingredients. I think those two ingredients are the reason why it stings quite badly when applied. I'm usually fine with kaolin and other clay masks, but this one is pretty unpleasant for the first 5-10 minutes.

Ingredients (and discomfort) aside, it does seem to do a pretty good job at drawing out impurities. The skin looks more radiant and feel quite cleansed afterwards, if a little raw. The leaves (green tea, I believe) is a real pain to get off, which probably contributes to the raw feeling. Not even soaking while taking a shower, which I usually find dissolves even the most stubborn masks, helps with these leaves. I have to resort to scraping them off my skin with my nails..

I will use it up because it makes my skin look quite nice, and because it has some acne fighting properties to it, but I won't repurchase.

+ Cruelty free
+ Vegan
+ Skin looks clearer and brighter after use
+ Not too drying

- Way too heavily perfumed
- Alcohol denat as fifth ingredient, which is both drying and irritating to the skin
- Jar packaging
- The tea leaves are incredibly hard to remove

Brows -The Body Shop -Eyebrow kit

Favorite brow product, absolutely adore this powder. Also quite liked the little brush too, it's a bit scruffy but it gives very natural look on the go without looking too harsh.
Pros: no fall outs while applying; perfect color match for my natural hair color; loved the small brush but eventually it broke after years of using (used it a lot); great color payoff; traveled with this kit a lot and packaging never let me down; wears all day without fading
So-so: on the pricier side if not on discount

Lipstick -The Body Shop -Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick Universal Shade

Love this product a lot, the shade is very flattering tone of medium to bright pink on my lips.
Pros: very pretty color; nice velvet fell on the lips; matte but not drying; leaves pretty stain after eating or drinking
So-so: a bit pricey if not on discount; too chubby a little bit hard to apply to the lips;
Cons: smell is a bit strong but I still can handle it

Skincare - Body -The Body Shop -Peppermint Cooling Foot Rescue Treatment

This is my favourite foot lotion in the summer, as it's so nice and cooling. Smells and feels great. Only downside is how quickly I go through it! I wish the tub were bigger.

Makeup Brushes -The Body Shop -Slanted Kabuki

foto

I think I got this on buy one get one promo in 2013. I have all three of TBS kabuki brushes (bronzing brush kabuki, regular kabuki, and slanted kabuki), and the one I love the most is this slanted brush. I have yet to find an equivalent of this in other brands.

BUILD: not too heavy and feels substantial in my hands. The handle gives it a good grip for control (unlike the regular TBS kabuki brush with a very small handle). The bristles are synthetic, thick, fluffy, and super soft.

USAGE: The slant give you longer bristles on one side, great for sweeping product, and the shorter bristle side is great for packing/buffing in product. I use this with finishing powder, face powder, blushes. Since this is made of synthetic bristles, it would also work with cream, but I have yet to try it with cream products.

DURABILITY: I've had this for about 5 years now and it hasn't shed at all despite all the washings. (Note that when washing brushes, you do not soak the ferrule, and you must hand down the brushes to dry.)

Shampoo -The Body Shop -Tea Tree Oil Shampoo

on 5/28/2018 1:49:00 PM

I bought this shampoo years ago Bc I had a coupon & it's a decent shampoo for my oily hair! It has a very strong tea tree oil scent it's the tea tree oil that gives the shampoo it's therapeutic effect! But I wouldn't rebuy it again Bc I'm not happy with the fact the shampoo is colored with this green dye which is unnecessary! & the same comment applies to their green gel tea tree face wash too !
