Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Blemish + Age Defense

on 10/17/2018 3:25:00 PM

This is a very strong acid product so you only need to apply a small drop on each forehead, cheeks, nose/chin/jaw. It works great. I only apply at night so I don't get too irritated. Great for aging and acne prone skin. Be sure to use light moisturizer along with this product. I've had for 3 months and not even close to half the bottle gone. So not as pricey as you would think. The whole acne system with the wash and toner are the best!!!

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier

on 9/19/2018 8:28:00 PM

Skinceuticals Hyaluronic Acid Intensifier is formulated with a high concentration of Hyaluronic Acid (the stuff used in dermal fillers). It has botanical extracts of purple rice and licorice root and the manufacturer claims it’s been clinically proven to restore plumpness, elasticity and firmness to the skin, helping to support the skin’s natural Hyaluronic Acid levels. It should also improve nasolabial folds, marionette lines and crows feet.

The product come in the usual serum type bottle with the pipette dropper so drops of the product can be applied directly to the face. The consistency is thicker than the usual watery serums and it’s darker in colour and has a naturally sweet smell and taste, (I accidentally licked some of the product on my lips)

I used it until it ran out, over a number of months and applied it over my Vitamin C Ferulic Serum, I do think it helped make my nasolabial folds less obvious and felt nice on the skin, absorbing well. I haven’t repurchased a new bottle as I decided to try another brand of Hyaluronic Acid, but think I will go back to this as I feel it worked quite well. It’s quite expensive at over £80 a bottle but due to its thicker consistency, lasts quite long.

Skincare - Face -SkinCeuticals -Resveratrol BE

on 9/19/2018 8:04:00 PM

Skinceuticals Resveratrol BE is a skincare product for night time use which claims to contain natural antioxidants which will neutralise free radicals making the skin more resistant to free radicals, revealing more radiant and firmer skin, reducing the signs of ageing.

The product comes in a glass bottle with a pump dispenser that claims to prevent air and bacteria from entering the bottle, it comes in gel form and I found it to be quite heavy on the skin, it didn’t really blend into the skin, it seemed to just sit on the surface.

I used Resveratrol BE for about 6 months until it ran out. It was very expensive so I had high hopes, but can’t say it did anything noticeable. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic as my skin is fairly good anyway and I have no wrinkles so perhaps if I had, I might have realised the benefits as claimed by the manufacturer.

I would not buy this product again, I don’t think it was worth over £90 for a relatively small bottle.

Scrubs -SkinCeuticals -Micro-Exfoliating Scrub

on 9/18/2018 10:48:00 PM

I've tried a few different facial scrubs (Laura Mercier, OleHenriksen, Fresh) and this exfoliator from SkinCeuticals is by far my favorite. In fact...I'm on my 2nd tube. The product's small micro-beads effortlessly remove the dead skin from your face, leaving it smooth and clean. I highly recommend this product!

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Refining Night Cream With 1 % Pure Retinol

on 9/4/2018 9:36:00 AM

I really like this product and I am seeing visible results. However, my skin is becoming so sensitized by it that I've got to limit its usage to just two nights a week. The odd thing is that this product doesn't irritate my skin but anything I place on top of it stings like mad. Even the next day, my usual innocuous serum and sunscreen burn my face. So even though I think it's effective, I cannot use this nightly and am switching to Aveeno to calm my skin down. After my skin has normalized, I'll try it again. I most likely will not repurchase.

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Metacell Renewal B3

I cannot rave enough about this product. I have been using it since 4 months. My skin looks even toned, clearer and brighter. I did't not have any major concern expect minor aging though, but surely didn't have smooth glowy skin. Its is expensive but you need to use very little, mine lasted about 4 months.
It feels like a smooth serum and absorbs immediately . I use it morning after my vitamin C serum and evening with Retinol I mix this.
Packaging is nice and tightly sealed bottle so you product doesn't get contaminated, you need to squeeze a little amount through pump and apply evenly and massage gently.

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Advanced Pigment Corrector

I used 'APC' quite a few years back alongside the 'Retinol 0.5% Refining Night cream' also by Skinceutical. The latter was a fantastic product, the former - not so much! My concerns were a spot of pigmentation (melasma) on my forehead, I have no sun damage thankfully as diligently apply SPF every day. The melasma seemed to appear straight after a course of medication. I got straight onto the net to find out what I could use that would help fade it. Many a time this product came up so I ordered myself a tube.

First I used it twice a day, 1-2 pumps as instructed but found it too heavy, even though it is quite a thin lotion, so I decreased to AM application only and used the retinol 0.5% on a night. I went through the whole tube - which costs a fair amount, and didn't notice hardly any difference. The only difference I did see was when I stopped usage for 1-2 weeks and used the 0.5% retinol alone. This actually seemed to work better than using both in combination with one another. If my pigmentation was to ever return I would not be investing in this to tackle it.

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Retexturing Activator

My skin has a tendency to have a flaky texture but too much exfoliation leads to rosacea flares and irritation so I'm always trying to balance keeping my facial skin smooth while avoiding irritation. Enter this product which promises to gently exfoliate AND hydrate all at once. I've used this product for a full month now and I can't say it's done much for my overall skin texture (i.e.the flakiness), however, my skin is more hydrated and generally behaving better as I haven't had any breakouts/rosacea flares the entire month. A little goes a long way as 4 drops is enough for the entire face and I like to mix it with a bit of distilled water and then apply. At this rate, it will take quite some time to get through a bottle so while it was a spendier item, I don't find it cost prohibitive. My skin doesn't agree with 95% of new products I try but this one is a keeper so long as my results continue. There is a warning on this product about sun exposure so I'm guessing it can make one more sensitive to the sun but I avoid sunlight like a vampire already so this isn't really a concern for me currently. Though not miraculous, this is a nice product that does at least part of what it promises without irritating even ridiculously sensitive skin like mine.

is it good for girls under 30s?

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -C E Ferulic

This is one holy grail product for even skin tone and skin brightening. I have been using for couple of month in morning after washing and toning my face. I have really seen difference . My skin glows even without applying anything. It also helps to even out my acne scars.(p.s I did have very little scarring ).

It is a very expensive product but you need very little , few drops to be precise and one bottle usually lasts me for good 3 months.

Useful Tip
Take it in batches so that the serum can last longer without loosing it potency. Keep the bottle in refrigerator always .

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Discoloration Defense Multi-Phase Serum

on 8/25/2018 9:31:00 PM

This didn't work for me.

The marketing states "Discoloration Defense is a layerable, daily-use dark spot corrector clinically proven to reduce the appearance of key types of skin discoloration, including hard-to-treat forms such as stubborn brown patches and post-acne marks." I have one small dark spot that has popped up on the side of my face and a couple spots on my chin from a breakout. After using a bottle, the spots are still there.

The product is a light liquid serum - similar to a vitamin c type serum. It's easy to apply and sinks in quickly. It didn't sting or cause any irritation or other issues.

Ingredients: Aqua / Water, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Glycerin, Tranexamic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Kojic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Allantoin, Chlorphenesin, Xanthan Gum, Disodium Edta

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Hydrating B5 Gel

I saw the difference with just one day! I love it!! skin it's glowing. I know it's pricy, but I will start saving to try the vitamin C also! it's worth it!

Treatments (Face) -SkinCeuticals -Retexturing Activator

on 8/21/2018 2:48:00 PM

This product didn't do much for me. The texture is light and absorbs into the skin nicely. Once it drys you can't even tell its on your skin. Overall for wearability its not bad.

However, I did not see any changes or benefits. I was hoping it would help with smoothing and hydration.

I love SkinCeauticals but this one was a miss for me.

Sunscreen -SkinCeuticals - Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50

on 8/17/2018 8:18:00 PM

This is my go to sunscreen- its lightweight and blends in easily. Most importantly it has never irritated my skin or made me breakout the way chemical sunscreens though. I have med-light skin and never had a problem with a whitish cast the way others have. I woudl give it a 5 except for the fact that its not an all in one product- i have to apply over another moisturizer or serum. Still on the lookout for the perfect lightweight moisturizer with physical sunscreen ever since Mario Badescu changed the formulation of their oil-free moisturizer and switched to chemical sunscreen.. this will be my go too until i can find the right all in one.

Sunscreen -SkinCeuticals -Physical Matte UV Defense SPF 50

on 8/17/2018 4:59:00 PM

Ok, I don´t know where to start...I bought this because I was looking for a mineral, "good ingredient" sunscreen and coincidently read about a primer from NARS. They have a spf 50 primer, and someone mentioned it was amazing, as amazing as the old MAC Prep+Prime SPF50...Anyway, I fell for the Idea of a Primer +SPF, and was interested in the NARS one, and then I entered the drugstore and found/tested this. It feels exactly like a havy siliconed based primer, like those transparent ones. But it feels like it has some mineral tinted powders in there too. So, it sounded amazing. It never sets, and that is exactly what I hate about those primers. It looks invisible on my skin, but I will say it kinda smoothes the texture a bit. It is hard to believe that the amount I am spreading is actually going to be effective in terms of protection, because I end up with such a thin layer of product, and it is impossible to use much beacause it would feel a mess. I see it as a base/primer, and it actyually says Matte base in the packaging, and as a primer+FPS I guess it would work if I didn´t hate silicone sooo much. It looks Matte but feels soooo greasy! If you like those primers and want a (kinda) healthy SPF, than try this.
I am still on the hunt for a SPF that is (mostly) mineral based and has good ingredientes in it, tho...
