Cleansers -Beauty Without Cruelty -Aromatherapy 3% Alpha Hydroxy Facial Cleanser

Ok so This face wash at first was really good but about a week after I started to use it I broke out into hives haha. I have white little pimples ALL OVER MY FACE. I think it had something to do with aha I read that this could be irritating and should be used with caution. My recommendation would be to test for about a week in one spot in your face and see if you get hives. It’s not a bad product but it does not work for my skin. I have eczema and psoriasis so if you have this conditions I would stay away from this product because it is not as gentle as the bottle claims.

Shampoo -Beauty Without Cruelty -Daily Benefits

This is fine. Not really notable. A good price for a natural, cruelty-free option, but my dry curls need something more moisturizing. If you have truly middle-of-the-road hair that doesn't need any particular sort of help, this might be a good option, but I feel like most of us are looking for something a bit more.

Hair -Beauty Without Cruelty -Revitalizing Leave In Conditioner

on 4/13/2017 10:47:00 PM

I love this stuff. I have straight, fine, easily breakable/split-able hair. I somehow became allergic to something in spray-on leave-in conditioners, so about 7 years ago I gave this one a try and never looked back.

It smells fragrant, not bad, and makes my hair very easy to comb. In fact after toweling, I can put this in, not comb, and just bum around the house, and my hair will mostly untangle and be "combed" before I do anything. I discovered the Wet Brush about 2-3 years ago and this has made my hair-combing experience perfect!

FYI I am a daily hair washer (I know, omg) that leaves for work directly after combing wet hair, so keep in mind that for me this conditioner is washed out every day and then reapplied. I also often use the BWC highland lavender shampoo and conditioner before this, but I don't recommend these two a fraction as much as the leave-in conditioner.

Lotions/ Creams -Beauty Without Cruelty -Botanical Formula Hand and Body Lotion - Fragrance Free

on 6/1/2016 11:30:00 AM

I like that this light body lotion is free of parabens, fragrance and vegan. Has a blend of natural oils such as sunflower, safflower, shea butter, and sweet almond. Also has herbal extracts and vitamin E. This is not as rich and emollient as I had expected. It is more of an average daily body lotion. This does not easily absorb into my skin. It is just ok for me, not a stand out body lotion. For a richer moisturizer experience I would go with Shikai Borage Therapy for Dry Skin lotion.

Cleansers -Beauty Without Cruelty -Aromatherapy 3% Alpha Hydroxy Facial Cleanser

Just like the previous reviewer, my face had a horrible reaction to this product. I was out of my regular cleanser (Purity) so I decided to try this since I had a sample. I used this product one time... the next day my face was itchy and felt as though it was stripped. The following day, still itchy. Now my skin is rough in texture, itchy and is beginning to get little whitehead looking bumps around my mouth. This is the ONLY change in my skincare routine... used once. Never again.

This is the single most irritating product I have EVER put on my face. I am acne prone, but in general not that susceptible to redness/irritation .

I used this product ONE time 2 days ago and my skin still feels RAW, ROUGH, ITCHY and is still bright RED. New today, I have a bumpy rash forming (like tiny, tiny whiteheads) all along my jawline/chin.

Please proceed with caution with this product!!!

I will not stray from my HG cerave foaming cleanser ever again!!!!

UPDATE: It's been about a week since I've used this and my skin is *almost* back to normal. It is still very dry though. Lesson: be careful what you put on your face!!!

Smells wonderful! (refreshing herbal). I use this cleanser the first thing when I wake up. It doesn't dry out my combo skin. Haven't tried this to remove makeup as of yet, since I have a different cleanser for that

Conditioner -Beauty Without Cruelty -Rosemary Mint Tea Tree

I am really enjoying this conditioner. I think it is one of the better natural ones that actually leave my dry, coarse hair feeling and looking good. Even though there are cones, I think there is just enough to smooth but it doesn't weigh my hair down. The smell is pleasant enough, the texture is super thick but easy to spread. I like it a lot and actually like that is has some cones in it, as it gives me better results than other natural shampoos and conditioners so far. Also the bottle is huge so it is really good value.

Shampoo -Beauty Without Cruelty -moisture plus shampoo

on 9/1/2015 8:46:00 PM

I've bought this twice and used the bottle each time. I want to like it - it has some valid pros - but I just don't. It's gentle, free from a lot of harmful chemicals, cruelty free, and affordable. But it does cause a bit of a buildup (too much of one considering it's not THAT moisturizing) and I just really don't like the smell. I can't identify it precisely, but it does seem "natural" rather than synthetic. If it were just the smell, I could live with it, but my fragile, curly, tangled hair need more moisture and/or less residue than this offers.

This is an excellent product for aging skin.. for summer cleansing.
Although it is gentle, not too harsh, not 'crack' inducing...
It removed make-up, sunscreen, and the acids help gently exfoliate.
I fear this might be too harsh in the winter,
but for my summer needs during humid weather,
it works nicely. I would repurchase.

Treatments (Eye) -Beauty Without Cruelty -Green Tea Nourishing Eye Gel

on 7/5/2015 3:40:00 AM

Purchased when I picked up the 3% AHA cleanser from Vitamin Shoppe. This is a cooling gel, really tightened the eye area but provided absolutely no moisturizing benefits to the area. When I added a moisturizer, I then lost the tightening effect. I liked the smooth, de-puffed effect but need moisture so my under eye area doesn't get crepey. Reminded me a lot of the Ole Henricksen eye gel (blue tinted stuff). I would definitely continue to use and repurchase if puffiness was my issue, but since I am more concerned with dryness I don't see any benefit.

Cleansers -Beauty Without Cruelty -Aromatherapy 3% Alpha Hydroxy Facial Cleanser

The last few years I have been switching over to more natural, safe products.
Over the winter, I finally succeeded in using Oil Cleansing Method.
Made my skin beautiful, soft and clear!!!

However, my skin is oily and LOVES acids - glycolic and salisylic.
It helps to turn over skin cells faster, makes my skin glow and keeps blackhead and a few hormonal pimples away.

I was using a few other AHA products - Proactive Glycolic Pads - worked very well but toxic chemicals and $$$. Then tried First Aid Beauty AHA pads. These were a little sticky and the more I used them, the more they broke me out.

So I kept looking.
Natural, safe AHA products...not too pricey either.
With the warmer weather I was on the clock and had to find something.
This is it. Have been using for almost a month.

1-2 x a week in the morning of Beauty Without Cruelty 3% AHA Facial Cleanser. Just a tiny amount.
The other mornings are Oil Cleansing Method.
I follow my morning routine with 3-4 x a week with Beauty Without Cruelty 8% AHA Skin Renewal lotion.
Skin is fantastic!
Clear, radiant, glowy.

Very happy with results.

With the summer, I may have to increase this with the hot, sticky sweaty weather, that's okay.
I think it's important to adjust as you need to because your skin is living and conditions vary. So be flexible.
I still want to keep OIl Cleansing at night to let my skin breathe and rest.
It is so comforting and gentle.
Come the fall & winter, I will need the extra TLC from Oil Cleansing as my skin as I age becomes drier.

BWC 3% AHA Facial Cleanser is a wooonderful product.
I have finally found my great AHA Holy Grail with this and the 8% Skin Renewal.

Vegan, too.
Animal loving & planet loving.

Thank you BWC!!!

UPDATE: this ended up making me breakout. STop using.

Moisturizers -Beauty Without Cruelty -Moisture Cream, Skin Renewal 8% Alpha Hydroxy Complex

on 5/4/2015 4:18:00 PM

I have been a new Oil Cleansing Method user since this past winter which my skin loves.
I am a convert!
This is my base and happy to keep it as I move forward.

The only issues are that with the warmer temps, I am getting some blackheads and congestion.
I need to clean this effectively.

My skin love acid - glycolic and salisylic.
It keeps my skin looking glowy.
I was enjoying the Proactive Cleansing Pads (Glycolic) - but too many chemicals and very $$$ for 5 pads.
First Aid Beauty (FAB) pads seem to break me out.

So I think I found a great solution:
Beauty Without Cruelty Skin 8% AHA Renewal Moisturizing Lotion.
If I use the BWC Facial Cleanser with 3% AHA x 2 a week in the morning, PLUS this 8% AHA 3-4 4 x a week in the morning, my skin is fabulous!!!

(come the really hot summer months, I may need to tweak this to increase frequency of use it but so far so good).

At night, I just use my OCM and let my skin breathe.
If I have a spot or two, I will put a drop of clay mask or this 8% AHA as a pea size on so it dries and heal quickly.

I have been doing this routine for almost a month and am a happy camper.

My skin looks beautiful and I am getting that deep down cleaning and glowy complexion that I so love.

Highly recommended.

Lotions/ Creams -Beauty Without Cruelty -Hand & Body Treatment in Sweet Lavender

on 4/25/2015 6:37:00 PM

The lotion is a thick cream that takes a bit of rubbing to sink in. It moisturizes quite well and leaves skin feeling soft and comfortable. The price is very reasonable. I got a 16 oz bottle for around $8, which is pretty reasonable given the high quality ingredients + lack of animal testing.

The only drawback is that the fragrance isn't really lavender. It reminds me more of lavender-scented Play-Doh. It's not strong, fortunately, nor does it linger. I wouldn't buy this particular fragrance again, but I'd try another from this line.

Cleansers -Beauty Without Cruelty -Herbal Cream Cleanser

on 4/8/2015 11:06:00 AM

I was alternating between higher end cleansers/makeup removers and DIY natural cleansers such as a mix of different oils. And I'm sticking with BWC Herbal Cream Cleanser. It's natural, it's reasonably priced, its mild herbal scent doesn't linger, it's gentle and doesn't strip my skin and it removes all my makeup, even on days when I wear sunscreen, foundation, and heavy eye makeup.

I often cleanse twice, and sometimes use a warm and damp cloth to make sure I'm removing all my makeup. This cleanser has been wonderful this winter, has helped my skin stay moisturized, I'm sure it will be great in the summer too, as it doesn't leave any residue behind. It's also been mild and neutral enough to use daily as I go through several glycolic acid peels every few weeks -causing my skin to be more sensitive.
It's just a great staple, not particularly luxurious in its aroma, but for something I wash off, it's perfect. My boyfriend uses it everyday too.
