Conditioner -Matrix -Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Conditioner

on 2/27/2019 9:30:00 AM

I just purchased this line a couple weeks ago and I’m in love. I left a review for the shampoo so figured I’d leave one for the conditioner as well. I have long, fine, curly hair that tends to be oily at the scalp and dry and the ends. I wash my hair about 5 times a week and color every so often but not regularly. Because my scalp is oily I only use conditioner on the ends of my hair, about where a pony tail would start at the back of my head. I comb through, clip it up and leave on while I continue my shower routine and then rinse with cool water at the very end. This conditioner is amazing. It leaves my hair so soft and shiny and my ends seem so much healthier. I do seem to be leaving less hair in the shower so that’s a plus as well. The comb glides through my wet hair so it has nice slip to it. There is a slight scent which is barely noticeable. The only drawback, and this is minor, is the bottle. I have to store my conditioner bottle upside down because it’s hard to squeeze it to get the contents out. I don’t have this problem with the shampoo since it’s very fluid, but the conditioner is thicker so it’s a bit more difficult. But like I said, it’s very minor and would not keep me from purchasing this line again.

Shampoo -Matrix -Biolage Advanced Fiberstrong Shampoo

on 2/27/2019 9:22:00 AM

Quite possibly my new favorite shampoo and conditioner. I have long, fine, curly hair that tends to be oily at the roots and dry at the ends and I wash my hair about 5 times a week. I do color every so often but not regularly. This shampoo cleans my hair very well. I hate shampoos that feel like they don’t rinse well and this one is not like that. I use a small amount and get a good lather. It rinses clean from my scalp without leaving the ends dry and brittle. I also use the conditioner in this line and love that one as well. I do see that I’m losing less hair in the shower so I think it’s helping. It also leaves my hair so soft and without a strong scent. Will definitely be purchasing this line again.

Hair Treatments -Matrix -Biolage - Smoothing Shine Milk

on 2/6/2019 3:31:00 PM

Matrix Biolage Smoothing Shine Milk is my absolute favorite leave-in styling spray. I have an issue with hair texture differences on different parts of my head. In the back and sides, hair is thick and unruly, wavy and a bit frizzy as well. Hair on the top of my head is much finer and straighter. So, I use this Smoothing Shine Milk to help equalize the texture differences--I spray abundantly on the wavy parts of my hair, and then a bit more sparingly on the top. The formula is extremely heavy with silicones, but that allows me to comb out hair with very little difficulty as it makes short work of tangles in wet hair. The smoothness of the formula also really helps with styling. I usually blow out my hair so that the wavy parts look more smooth and match the top of my head, and this formula helps the brush move through those thicker areas with ease. It adds a nice shine as well, and I never notice any buildup that can't be removed by normal shampooing the next day. I would say this is not so much for creating volume, as the waxes tend to allow the hairs to lay more flat and move easily as individual hairs.

I recently ran out, and couldn't find it in the store anymore, so ended up ordering from Amazon. It has a new package now, but the formula seems the same. I tried to find something similar in an different brand, and the closest thing that comes to it is Frizz Ease Dream Curls, except that the Frizz Ease isn't quite as good at detangling and smoothing. The Biolage will definitely be my styling spray of choice from now on!

Shampoo -Matrix -Biolage HydraSource

on 1/26/2019 1:23:00 PM

Has a pleasant scent. I found this shampoo to be quite drying on my fine dry hair. I used this with the matching conditioner and did was not impressed with the results. There are some drugstore shampoos that are better than this product.

Conditioner -Matrix -Amplify Conditioner

on 1/20/2019 11:52:00 AM

Use this with the shampoo. It's a gel consistency that detangles so well from root to tip without weighing my hair down. For more reference look at my review of the shampoo in this line. $12 for a high end product can't go wrong.

Shampoo -Matrix -Total Results Amplify Volume Shampoo

on 1/20/2019 11:44:00 AM

I have thick, pin straight hair (yes that is a thing, texture is very different than width) that gets oily and weighed down really quickly. I normally use a dandruff shampoo by Dove but was worried that the silicone content would soon build up in my hair. I wanted a non-medicated shampoo that I could use in between uses of the Dove to keep my hair fresh feeling. Knowing that this shampoo is a gel consistency that won't suffocate the scalp (you can tell just by looking at the blue bottle) and that it's silicone free (because you can't wash silicones out with more silicones), I thought this was an obvious choice for me. The conditioner itself is also a light gel consistency that I was sure wouldn't weigh down my hair either. The shampoo which I was worried might dry out my hair despite not weighing it down (there's always a con to every pro) made my hair extra soft feeling. I could run my fingers through my hair just with the shampoo alone. The conditioner which I thought was going to be too light to detangle despite not weighing my hair down was the exact opposite. I put it from roots to tips (lightly on the roots. I know conditioner is usually from midlengths to ends but I need to be able to detangle my roots too) and my wide tooth comb glided through my hair like silk. With this set my hair is soft, detangled, manageable and not the least weighed down! Not only that but this is a high end shampoo/conditioner set and they were only $12 each! Honestly I love the results of these so much that I might actually use these instead of the Dove if my scalp itch doesn't come back.

Hair Treatments -Matrix -Biolage Keratindose Pro-Keratin Renewal Spray

on 12/19/2018 10:44:00 PM

I have been using this about 2 weeks now and love it! I have fine, curly hair that tends to be oily at the roots and dry on the ends. I use this on the ends and my hair feels so soft and nourished. I’ve been blow drying my hair more since it’s colder out and this feels like it’s protecting my hair and helping to control the frizz. I’m not a fan of the spray bottle though. The product is kind of thick so when I spray it it doesn’t disperse evenly through my hair. I spray it into my hand and then rub my palms together and apply to my hair that way. Works so much better. I also add a couple drops of shine serum before applying it. The bottle holds quite a bit so I think it will last me a while. It has a nice smell. Not flowery or chemically, just clean. I’d definitely purchase this again.

Hair -Matrix -Biolage Rejuvatherapie Age Rejuvenating Shampoo

on 11/28/2018 3:00:00 PM

If you are like I was and loved Rejuvatherapie for its ability to control unruly (and in my case, frizzy) hair, look no longer. Go out and buy yourself a bottle of Matrix Biolage 3Butter shampoo, try it, and then come back and let me/us know what you think. For me it was the end of a very long search for a replacement.

Hair Treatments -Matrix -Matrix Biolage Advanced RepairInside Hyperdose Concentrate

on 11/14/2018 3:49:00 AM

Hyperdose concentrate is part of the hyperdose series that claims to strengthen and condition/smooth severely damaged hair. The series claims to repair hair strength up to 75% after one use - if the shampoo, conditioner, concentrate and leave-in are used together. The concentrate boasts soy and arginine and is for professional use only. I used this at home, leaving it on my hair overnight. No advisable as a routine of course, as this can cause build-up quickly.

I have thick but terribly fatigued, overprocessed hair. My hair loves strengthening protein treatments and my favorites are actually Aphogee Two-Step and Redken CAT. Both these give tangible, reliable, excellent results in terms of strengthening but are difficult to find in my country now. I also benefit greatly from liquid keratin that comes at a fraction of the cost of brandnames and is quite time-consuming. So I often try new products that will maintain the effects with simpler steps.

Enter Matrix Hyperdose. This is a lighter, lotion-like product with conditioning benefits as well. Basically, I can use this after a clarifying shampoo, try to activate it with heat and go to bed when my hair is dry. Next day, I don't even have to wash my hair, it looks and feels soft, almost styled and even a bit shiny. My hair feels a bit coated -obviously, as I haven't rinsed off the product but it is nothing more than a silicone-heavy mask.

The overall effect really pleases me, with my some badly damaged bits really calmed - those bits only scissors can "cure" actually. My hair has good volume, feels pampered and I am given a good hair day. However, the product is better in terms of conditioning and the overall effect than helping with that spaghetti hair thing - when wet hair has lost elasticity and doesn't want to return to its original state when stretched. I prefer stronger proteins that can give that result.

I think this may be a good product for hair that needs less protein than mine. And it is certainly good at boosting the morale when one is left with scary hair after small-scale accidents. I prefer it to Schwarzkopf's repair-rescue series for instance.

I can certainly re-buy it in the future but mainly for conditioning effects. Therefore, I don't think the shampoo and the rest are very necessary for me. The small concentrate does the job.

3 for strengthening though.

Hair Treatments -Matrix -Biolage Hydrasource Mask

on 11/9/2018 9:51:00 AM

Have they reformulated Hydrasource? This used to be wonderful mask that really did hydrate my hair without weighing it down. The last one I bought - from a salon- did nothing though. My hair puffed up but was not hydrated, ends were not conditioned at all. It still has a lovely florally salon smell but not hydrating enough for my overprocessed hair anymore.

Hair Treatments -Matrix -Hydrasource Leave In Tonic

on 11/9/2018 9:46:00 AM

Very reliable product for my thick and overprocessed hair that needs something heavier than drugstore leave-in sprays. It is oilier than most of them and has a feel like some micellar products. That's why I think this may be more suitable for dry and coarse hair. Detangles and softens my hair really well without weighing it down. Has a florally salon smell. One bottle goes a long way.

Hair Color -Matrix -Biolage Colorlast Conditioner

on 10/30/2018 3:50:00 PM

This is a good mid-level conditioner. It isn't too heavy or too light...great balance. It doesn't feel drying either. I changed just this & used it with my usual AG Colour Savour shampoo and all other aspects in my routine stayed the same. I have a very hard time finding conditioners that can balance my uber fine locks, the horrid humidity here in the south and my wavy/curly texture. This does a really nice job. I was torn between a 4 or a 5. I am sure it isn't perfect but I have been really enjoying it and will probably rebuy it. I am going to give it a 5 not because it is life changing, but it is hard for me to find a good balance in a conditioner and this seems to have it.

Hair -Matrix -Biolage Exquisite Oil Protective Treatment

on 10/24/2018 7:54:00 AM

I had this in the pink bottle that has Tamanu oil and is sold as the 'strengthening' version for thin hair. My hair is thick, coarse and brittle, so I can't comment on how it performs thin hair. On my overprocessed hair, it is almost impossible to over-apply this. It spreads so well even on dry hair and adds instant softness plus shine. It certainly did not strengthen my hair but I don't expect those things from these serums. The smell is to die for, like a well balanced, slightly dark floriental perfume. I have no idea what Polynesian tamanu smells like. I only know that it is this thick, dark green oil that some people swear by. I can see myself buying this again for the smell - much better than Kerastase Elixir for me- and I'm interested in trying other versions of the series, too.

Hair Treatments -Matrix -Biolage Fiberstrong Intra-Cylane Fortifying Cream

on 10/12/2018 8:27:00 PM

This is a great leave-in conditioner. It distributes nicely and never makes my hair feel sticky or weighed-down. Makes my hair perfectly soft and smooth. It just looks and feels healthy every time I use this. The price is high but I think I'm in love!

For reference my hair is thick, dry, wavy-texture, color-treated, and I heat-style it regularly. So it's important that I take care of it with the right products. I always use some type of leave-in before blow drying, and this one works BEAUTIFULLY for me.

I am so glad I tried this, I will definitely be buying this again in the future!

Highly Recommended! LOVE!!!

Conditioner -Matrix -Total Results Mega Sleek

on 9/28/2018 8:23:00 AM

I didn't expect to love this conditioner so much. It achieves similar results to one of my favorite conditioners - Living Proof Frizz Ease, but for half the price, including what I love most about it - it keeps my hair clean looking and frizz free for longer.
The smell is somewhat sweet and sugary, but it's not overpowering and it disappears after a short time, or at least I can't feel it.
The product itself is rather thick so it's a good thing the packaging allows you to turn it upside down so you can use every last drop (I have the smaller red container (300 ml), not the one pictured on this site, I'm too lazy to upload a photo but you can google it).
If your hair is dry and frizz-prone like mine, give this a try.
