Bath Treatments -L'Occitane -Lavande Foaming Bath

I’m glad I only bought the travel size. The foam dissipates quickly and the lavender scent turns into a men’s shaving cream odor. Nothing about it justifies the hefty price tag.

Shampoo -L'Occitane -Repairing Shampoo (Dry & Damaged Hair)

I have thick, wavy, shoulder length, medium texture hair and I love how this shampoo makes my hair feel after I wash and blow dry it.
It feels soft and silky, the powdery scent goes to the background and I feel good when my hair turns out well after a wash. I'm surprised to see the reviews that say this product dried their hair out. I do find that the Lemon Verbena shampoo can do this, but quite the opposite with Aromachologie Repairing shampoo. Just goes to prove that what is good for one might not be for another. I'm a scent-sitive person as well but the light fragrance in this does not get to me. I've ordered enough to last a couple of years.

Moisturizers -L'Occitane -Comforting Cream 5% light

This was a real surprise for me, didn’t think I was going like it as much. But I just love this face cream! Great for the winter months. It’s a moderate textured, certainly not lightweight and defin not a heavy face cream; but a soft almost billowy consistency with body. I use a clean paddle to scoop up product. It absorbs quickly leaving my face plump and nourished-looking. Make up application is a breeze afterwards- no greasy slick, dries quickly once applied. Makeup adheres well to this face cream, does not pill and there is no product breakdown. I’ve had no breakouts. Made with 5% Shea, every time I open the jar, the scent reminds of Penaten barrier cream, but I’m ok with that, I’m partial to fresh baby scent lol. I will defin be repurchasing this Cream nxt fall, as part of my winter skincare regimen.

Skincare -L'Occitane -Lavender moisturizing hand lotion

I keep this bottle on my desk at work. Love this lotion! Light to medium creamy texture, spreads and absorbs quickly. Does NOT leave my hands greasy- I work in the medical field which requires frequent/constant handwashing. This lotion does a great job at moisturizing and keeping dry chapped hands at bay. Comes in a pump style plastic square bottle and lasts me less than a few months (1-2 pumps is all I need for ea use). May last longer for household use. Lovely lavender scent but can be overwhelming for those who are scentsitive. (No one at work has ever complained-it's a soothing scent). If you don’t like thick paste/barrier type consistency than I would strongly recommend this lotion.

I use this cream at home. It's a soft light cream w/ a strong lavender scent. May be off putting to those who are scentsitive. I really like the consistency. Absorbs quickly w/out any greasy film. Keeps my hands soft and moisturized. I like the aluminum/tin tube packaging. Reminds me of old school pharmaceutical packaging. Easy to squeeze product out. I use the L'Occitane 'Magic ' Key which helps push product forward, keeping the tube body plump, minimizing waste of product!

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane -Pivoine Flora Body Milk

on 1/20/2018 7:47:00 AM

After picking up the matching shower gel, I had to get my hands on the Pivoine Flora (Peony) Body Milk. I was lucky enough to get this discounted during the post-Christmas sales, but it is such a lovely Body Milk that I would have happily paid the full price. It comes in a squeeze bottle and is quite a thin and runny consistency, but a little goes a long way and the product is very hydrating. It absorbs into my skin quickly, without leaving a sticky or greasy feeling. It has a gorgeous scent - matching the shower gel of course - with the scent of floral peony being the most dominant with a subtle, grassy and fresh undertone which prevents the scent from becoming overly floral. To me, it is a perfect spring or summer scent. I have been using this constantly since purchasing it. I highly recommend it - and recommend picking up the matching shower gel and eau de toilette too!

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane -Verbena Frappé Body Cream

on 1/20/2018 7:38:00 AM

I love this cream so much! It isn’t at all like L’ocictane’s other body lotions, it is more similar to the Body Shop’s sorbet line - but a lot better. The texture of these is lighter, and it sinks nicely into the skin. It doesn’t have the strange, flaky texture of Body Shop’s sorbets. A little goes a long way, so the tub will last you a long time (which is a huge plus as it is a bit pricey). It has a lovely soft texture, almost like a light and fluffy mousse. This makes it perfect to use during the summer months, particularly on humid days. The scent is definitely a summer scent! The verbena smells green, clean, citrusy and refreshing. It lasts a long time on the skin, but is not overpowering - however I would recommend wearing a similar perfume to prevent a clashing of scents. This leaves my skin feeling soft to touch and very hydrated, without feeling at all sticky or greasy. However, as it is so light, it may not be hydrating enough for the driest of skins. I do recommend it to those who love L’Occitane’s Verbena range, it is a wonderful addition. Those with normal-oily skin will love this! It is a perfect summer product, I just wish it was part of the permanent line and not just limited edition.

I wonder if the product has been updated since the last reviews were written, because I recently bought this and the formula and scent are different than described below. The scent of this is like the rest of the line, an herbal, tart, fresh lemon-verbena scent. The formula is on the thinner side, but still a good quality. A little bit on my fine/ thinner hair spreads easily, disappears into my hair and doesn't just sit on top and coat it. Rinses right out. This isn't heavy duty or a great detangler, but good enough for my hair, and a texture/ formula that I prefer since most conditioners are too much/ heavy for my hair. I don't use the matching shampoo because of my well water, I've been pairing this with Klorane Citron Pulp or Paul Mitchell shampoo 3 since those are clarifying/ chelating. Glad I snagged this for $18 for the 16 ounce size when it was on sale online, normally it's $36.

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane -100% Pure Shea Butter

For me this product is better suited for the dry harsh winter months and/or if you’re constantly hand washing. It’s effective at keeping hands well moisturized++. It has a lovely soft shea scent not over powering. I love the tin packaging, keep this in my handbag. That being said it is not my favourite hand balm/cream by this brand but it’s still a good product overall. First and foremost not crazy abt the consistency of the product, it’s a densely packed preparation, I really need to work at it, just to pick up enough product for my hands, although a lil goes a long way, I don’t really need too much product to cover my hands for it to be effective. At a glance, product appears dry, almost waxy in the container; but becomes quite emollient after application. That said, tbh after application my hands do feel and look greasy, needs time to absorb. Therefore this would not be not ideal for the workplace. Lastly, it hardens if left outdoors in the cold winter air (ie car, walking outdooors etc) it needs to be warmed up before I can actually retrieve some product. For me, I prefer cream/lotion type consistencies because of ease. This product does deliver when it comes to keeping hands protected from constant hand washing, leaving them soft and hydrated but the application/product consistency is not for me...

Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane -100% Pure Shea Butter

This is a good, yet expensive choice if you are interested in trying out a nut butter for skin care but don’t wish to deal with the odor shea butter sometimes has and are looking for . This version has been refined so it doesn’t have any noticeable odor, this is why this one is white, where unrefined shea butters are yellow/brown and smell nutty, sometimes smokey. If you have access to a store where they sell health foods and natural body care & cosmetic products, chances are good they will carry shea butter and most likely an unrefined one, so I highly recommend you take the time to go and smell it to see if you can tolerate its nutty odor - sometimes a batch will have issues and smell bad. I say to do this as the L’Occitane version is 3-4 times as much $ as unrefined brands, but well worth it if you don’t care to or can’t stand the natural odor of unrefined shea butter. It also doesn’t go rancid as fast, an aroma that would scare most people iff from shea butter altogether.
Putting the smell & appearance aside, shea butter is excellent for the skin and something I’ll always keep around because it works miracles on dry, chapped and irritated skin. This version comes in a pretty tin that opens like shoe polish and is softer in texture, thus spreading better and elegant enough for facial use. A little goes a long way so the big tin will last a long time, even if you dip into it generously to use on the body.

A very posh shea butter, slightly expensive (£30) when you buy the big 150 g tub but oh so necessary during the winter months. Buying the small, travel size version really does not make any sense (it is just a fraction of the big box and at £10! Just buy the big tub of the product and scrape some to a smaller box if you want to have it with you at all times or share the purchase with a friend).

It is pretty much the only product that keeps my hands hydrated in the cold, wet, wind-blasting weather (I'm always loosing gloves!) and it is always on my nightstand. I scrape out a small amount (it lasts ages too!) and massage my hands just before falling asleep, paying a special attention to the cuticles and it keeps them nice, tidy and pretty much nonexistent. I don't really use this on my face (except patting it on the top of my cheekbones when it is cold outside and the heating is on inside) but I might be tempted if this cold spell lasts any longer in Scotland! For hands however - nothing works better than this.

Pretty much contains no fragrance whatsoever which I really like, it is also an organic product, responsibly sourced (or so the producers say) and contains pure shea butter with just an addition of vitamin E.

I also love that the lid has a ridge that makes it easy to open, even with the greasy hands!

I got my one from the L'Occitane boutique in Frederick Street in Edinburgh and I left with a ton of samples - thank you guys! It was a very pleasant shopping experience indeed as pretty much no-one gives out samples in this country! I will definitely be back.

Cleansers -L'Occitane -Shea Butter Cleansing Oil

THIS IS AMAZING! Good for the price to double cleanse when you wash your make up off. Super convenient to have it in a pump that you can twist to lock.

I was very disappointed in this eye cream. L'Occitane products are not inexpensive, and I really expected more. I can't even say that this moisturized well. It pills off when I applied my makeup, so now I only use it at night.

Gels/Soaps -L'Occitane -Pivoine Flora Shower Gel

Pivoine Flora is a beautifully scent shower gel. Peony is the dominant note but I also detect some fresher and greener notes too, preventing this from becoming overly floral. The shower gel lathers up well, creating a nice foam. A little goes a long way, so the bottle should last a long time - which is good as it is quite pricey. It isn’t particularly hydrating to the skin (but it doesn’t dry it out either), so I would recommend following up with a body lotion for extra hydration. I like to use the matching Pivoine Flora Body Milk. This helps the scent last longer too, but even the scent from soley the shower gel lasts well on the skin. It also makes the shower/bathroom smell nice too. This is lovely product for anyone who likes florals and needs a shower gel that will leave a lingering scent on the skin.

Fragrance -L'Occitane -Neroli Orchidee Perfume

on 1/7/2018 6:44:00 AM

I can’t rave about this perfume enough! It is my favourite L’occitane Perfume and my signature scent and I often get compliments when wearing it. It is an EDT, but I still find that it lasts for a long time on my skin - around 6 hours. It is a floral-fruity scent. The Neroli note is the first note that is prominent but it is beautifully balanced with notes of mandarin, peach and orange blossom, though the orchid note prevents it from becoming too fruity or sweet. It is quite strong at first, with a lot of projection, but mellows out and becomes softer and closer to the skin after a few minutes. This perfume makes me picture summer days on the Amalfi Coast - it is a gorgeous scent that will transport you to summer in Europe all year round. This scent makes me so happy, and I love to pair it with the matching shower gel, lotion and hand cream. This scent is perfect for me and I will be devastated if it is ever discontinued!
