Lip Treatments -CeraVe -Healing Lip Balm Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30

I was so excited to try this lip balm after reading a stellar Beautypedia review. It's hard to find a really good lip balm with an SPF, an itt was impossible to find in any stores near me, which only made it more desirable to me, lol! So when I finally saw it on Target's website, I grabbed it. Sadly, I have never been so disappointed in a product in my life! Yes, it glides on smoothly and it moisturizes without leaving an oily or sticky sheen, two big pros; however, these are completely negated by its horrible taste!! It was hideous and rendered this unwearable. I'm a big CeraVe fan and use many of their unique and excellently formulated products, but this was a big miss for me.

Moisturizers -CeraVe -Facial Moisturizing Lotion - AM SPF 30

I've been using Cerave AM for years now, but I think they reformulated it somehow, because it feels different from this new bottle that I bought. This formula is thicker and more difficult to spread. It always left a *slightly* white cast on my face, but this one makes me look ghostly. It doesn't sit well underneath foundation at all - the white cast like, persists through the makeup. Very odd and disappointing.

I had been using this for a long time because it was so easy to spread and you really get a lot for the price. I used to just slather this stuff all over my face and neck without fear of running out. If I slather this new formula on my face, I'm gonna look like a ghost.

I think I'll save it for the summer if I'm going out to the beach or something. I wouldn't wear this under makeup anymore.

I really wanted to like this, but it’s not a great moisturizer. If you are looking primarily for an SPF for daily use this might be good, but there are better moisturizers with SPF out there.

I have normal to dry skin most of the time but it leans towards extra dry in cold weather or dry air. This stuff is great for all over my body including my dry face. I use this right out of the shower while my skin is still wet/damp and massage it in. This way it dosnt leave that "waxy" feeling some understandably complain of. It will dry matte so no worries over greasy skin especially when done overnight. Thats how I use it because it can be quite heavy for regular daytime use. This is a body cream you want to allow to sink into your skin overnight in regular weather. In super cold/dry weathet however I'll use it to my discretion. Its fragrance free so it can be topped with a scented loation for daytime use (like me). I have also used it as a nighttime face cream after cleansing (with face still wet/damp) and it works wonders for me. A little pricier than the average lotion on the supermarket ir drugstore isle but you get a lot and since you dont need near as much as a regular lotion it lasts for a while. Very creamy texture and a lot thicker than the moisturizing lotion of the same line. If you have oily skin however this may not be for you since it is pretty heavy. The moisturizing lotion might be more your speed. Comes in a regular tub with a lid and another jar of the same size (i belive) with a pump if you're worried about sanitation. This a absolute hg and a great all around mousturizer.

Cleansers -CeraVe -Hydrating Cleanser

I swear by CeraVe's lotions and creams but their cleansers just don't do it for me. This one is irritating on my skin and I'm not sure why. It makes my face feel tingly during application and my skin feels waxy rather than hydrated afterwards. I'm not impressed by the fancy ingredients either since this is something that, by design, is only supposed to be on my face for a minute or two. Not worth it.

Moisturizers -CeraVe -Skin Renewing Cream Serum

In short: My face just drinks this up and I look tight and glowy!

Backstory: I've been using Retin-A for about 2 years now (see my reviews). It's really strong stuff so I wanted to ease up on it. I bought this cream serum for $25 at London Drugs because I like their facial cleansers.

On first try my skin soaked this up right away and after a few days, my complexion looks smoother and brighter. It seems best to wear at night; it seems a bit too heavy for daytime (for me, anyway).

As I get older, I realize how important it is to build collagen to prevent facial sagging and wrinkles. I see men and women both younger and older than me who have a lot of sagging and creases and I really don't want that. The Retin-A has done it's job with building collagen and this cream serum is an excellent, low-irritating, hydrating supporting player in my skin care regime.

The tube is a bit confusing at first. I bet everyone SQUEEZED the tube first, only to realize the little pinhole is where the pump forces out the cream!

Before I forget, topical skin care is very important, but don't forget to go outside and get some exercise too to increase your blood circulation and reduce water retention! You know, get a glow the free way =)

Cleansers -CeraVe -Foaming Facial Cleanser

In May or June, I bought this facial cleanser to use as a body wash. I think I've gone through 3 large bottles now. It's the only body wash I can use at this point. It's a disaster on my face though.

I have ichthyosis vulgaris that has gotten worse since I turned 20. Since then, any body wash I've used, moisturizing or not, left my skin tight, dry, flaky, uncomfortable, ashy, and/or simultaneously made my back or (ahem) butt area break out.

Enter this foaming face wash. It does leave my skin feeling a bit tight, but in a "gotta put on lotion soon" way, not a "my skin is dying as I speak" way.

My legs are no longer a flaky mess after I towel dry. This, along with the Cerave SA lotion, has cleared up my bacne, which was partially due to the extreme dryness.

YMMV, but I've also tried the Hydrating Facial Cleanser as a body wash and didn't feel clean enough. It also greatly diminished the friction of my Korean scrubby towel, so I stopped using that and came back to this. Also, Dove beauty bars don't hold a candle to this foaming cleanser. It left my skin tight and dry, and make the KP on my arms worse.

Going back to use as a facial cleanser... For whatever reason, this cleanser causes closed comedones on my face, neck, and back hairline area even with a single wash. Go figure. It's something about the residue, so I just make sure to wash those areas with a different facial cleanser after I've used this one on my body.

I currently have three 16 oz backups sitting in my closet so that I will never accidentally run out and have to endure a regular body wash.

Lotions/ Creams -CeraVe -Renewing SA Cream

I probably won't buy this again... This cream is nothing like the matching lotion. It moisturizes, and that's kind of it. I don't know how high the BHA/AHA levels in this is, maybe it's the other ingredients? but my KP sticks around. It clears up my bacne a bit, but clogs it a bit at the same time. I use the Renewing SA lotion all the time for my keratosis pillaris, ichthyosis vulgaris, and bacne. I've written a separate review for that. The only time I use this is when my patches of red itchy skin (dermatitis? no idea) flare up. It somehow stops the itch, does not sting, and I don't have to reapply until after my next shower. But this is so expensive, and maybe Cerave's regular cream will serve the same purpose.

I have keratosis pillaris, mild to moderate ichthyosis vulgaris, and bacne. This lotion isn't a miracle worker but it's good enough that I have already used up 2 bottles and have 4 backups, and will use it for the foreseeable future. I have spent so many years and $$ trying to find something that helped that also did not break the bank. The Korean scrubby towels (not the green Italy ones) helped a lot with my KP (I've used it for a few years now) but did little to nothing for my IV. I had a bottle of Amlactin at some point but couldn't stick to it long enough to see results because of the smell. I've also tried Gold Bond Radiance Renewal cream-oil, which was great at moisturizing and making my skin scales look a bit better, but just barely. My derm recommended this lotion and I'm so glad I bought it despite its (comparatively) high drugstore price. Like I said, this lotion is not a miracle worker. The little scale-like texture on my legs has mostly gone but it still looks crepe-y. My KP continues to stick around my knees. However, my legs look normal enough that I am not self conscious or embarrassed about wearing shorts or a swimsuit. Also, I did not expect this at all, but it cleared up my long-lived bacne, although I have to use it every single day to keep it clear. I finally have the freedom of not worrying about my skin daily. It's not perfect, but I am no longer obsessing about how it looks. Maybe in a few years, I'll look for something better, but for now, I'm perfectly content sticking with this. It's nice to not constantly search for products to "fix" my skin.

**beware the reformulation**

I used this product as my Holy Grail for a year. Suddenly I'm breaking out with large cysts and pimples all down my neck, all over my forehead, soon my cheeks. I started eliminating all products it may be without even thinking of my Holy Grail. They changed the packaging but I heard nothing of the reformulation, but the ingredients list has changed once I researched into it. I have since stopped using this and a week on it's a little better, but will still take my skin another couple weeks to heal.

I am very unimpressed.

I am relatively oily and I often get pimples and hormonal acne, however my skin was screaming for some serious hydration the last couple of years (as many oily people do, I tended to skip hydration as an attempt to manage my oiliness). So I was searching for an effective yet lightweight moisturizer and I came across cerave. I've been using it for about a month and I find it to be a great product. I use it right after cleansing on a wet face and even put in on my eyes area (it's certainly not intended for this, but it "cured" my eye eczema as it provided sufficient hydration for my chronically dry area there). This is a very good and super affordable product, I'll certainly be repurchasing.

I selected 'No' for the 'would I purchase again' question but I would recommend this depending on your skin needs and where you live. Let me explain...

I have combination non-sensitive skin but my skin can get quite dry in winter or if I use a stripping cleanser. I purchased this when CeraVe launched in the UK because so many people rave about it. It was universally referred to as a gentle non-drying cleanser. Also CeraVe has a fantastic brand reputation for being 'kind to skin' and I love their moisturisers so I thought this would be perfect for me. I tried this as a second cleanse in the evening and as a morning cleanser and I just don't like it. I really don't. I tossed this in the bin after a few weeks.

In terms of the cleansing experience - I do not like the texture of this. It is a 'gel' but not like most cleansing gels or jellies on the market. It also does not seem to react well with water. For example, when I spread this on wet skin I can feel both water and gel - it's very odd. Also, because there is no oil it does not spread well. When I had an allergy flare up and my skin was super sensitive this was more uncomfortable than several other gel cleansers in my cabinet. It rinses away seemingly easily but 2 minutes later my skin feels both like there's residue on it and like its parched. I could not bear to keep using this and it went in the bin mostly full.

Now, all of that said when I used this on vacation I found it to be perfectly serviceable. It is not glam but it works and nothing felt dry or strange. So, honestly I think this just does not work well with the extremely hard water where I live. In the past few years I've come to think water quality is a key consideration in any washing products but its something very few people comment on. I follow lots of non-UK bloggers who have similar routines, preferences, skin types, life styles (i.e. city dwellers, make-up wearers etc) and so many of them are spot on with their reviews of so many products but I have never liked their cleanser recommendations. I find that I have the best luck with cleansers made by UK brands whether or not I like anything else in their ranges. So I love and still use a few CeraVe moisturisers but the cleanser did not work out.

So I would never buy this again for my personal home use, but if you have softer water and are looking for a basic no frills gentle and non-drying cleanser then this will probably work.

I cannot believe I hesitated trying this product until now. Some preliminary things about my use of this cream and my skin type: I have been using this cream nightly for two months now. My skin type is dry, rosacea, ultra sensitive, and acne-prone. I was very scared to try this moisturizer due to the mixed reviews about breaking out. Some people experienced no breakouts whatsoever, while others have bad reactions to this moisturizer. Because I have such sensitive and breakout-prone skin, I was very hesitant to try this. However I was getting desperate- until this cream, I have not been able to find a moisturizer that moisturizes my dry skin sufficiently without breaking it out. Creams that were moisturizing enough broke me out. Creams that were not moisturizing enough didn't break me out.

I believe this is a cream meant for dry to very dry skin, although I do believe that even combination skin could benefit from this during colder months. People who have normal or oily skin may find this a little too heavy for them.

RESULTS- This cream does NOT break me out, yet it is definitely moisturizing enough. For my skin, it does not feel heavy or greasy or at all- but I can see it being that way if too much is used. After using this cream, I wake up with baby-soft skin. This has also been the longest amount of time I have experienced with almost no breakouts. I cannot speak to how it plays underneath makeup, as I have never used it with makeup before. However, I suspect it would work very well underneath makeup.

HOW I USE IT- I use this as a night cream every single night. When I am not going outside and therefore do not need sunscreen, I use this during the day as a daytime moisturizer instead of my moisturizer that contains sunscreen. During late fall and winter, I will most likely use this every day as well underneath my sunscreen. However, during the day I advise using a bit less than you would use at night. The cream definitely feels thick, but not so thick that it's difficult to spread, etc. at all. In terms of how much you need, I'd say just a normal amount- I typically stick my index finger in the tub to get a decent-sized globule (that's totally a formal measurement), then add more if I feel I need it.

PACKAGING- unlike a lot of people, I honestly don't care too much if something is in a tub compared to a tube. I always wash my hands before applying things to my face, so it's still hygienic for me. However, it's HUGE. Now this is a good thing and a bad thing of course. I can't image running out of this before multiple years go by. However, it takes up so much room on my bathroom counter- and, what if it expires or something before I can use it all? Nonetheless, I'm going to sum up the huge tub to be primarily a benefit, as it will last forever and I can always use it as a body or hand cream during winter.

I am so relieved to have finally found this. I was about to give up and just suffer with constant dry skin, as I couldn't find a moisturizer that was enough for my dry skin that didn't also cause acne. If I could summarize my review, it would be a highly moisturizing, non-greasy cream for dry and sensitive skin that does not cause breakouts but does make my skin feel very smooth and soft!

I really am mystified by all the rave reviews of this product. I put it on my face and it was all waxy and white. So then I thought, ok this will be YET ANOTHER product that will be relegated to my body.. NOPE, not even that.. wax city. I put it on my arms and as I was massaging it in, it pilled up and looked like I was peeling. Gross. And the nerve of how much they charge for this junk.

This cleanser is probably quite appropriate for those with genuinely oily skin. However, for my dry/combination skin with rosacea I found it to be stripping and harsh, but certainly better than Cetaphil and the Clinique Liquid Facial Soaps.

It also has the potential to irritate the eyes, which I have not experienced with the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser. That formula is just so much gentler.
