I really don't like this sunscreen, and that makes me sad, because I normally love Cerave products. I bought this because I wanted to try a sunscreen I could easily get in the US instead of having to order expensive Euro sunscreens online. Avobenzone makes my face burn when I perspire, so I decided to get a physical-only sunscreen, and I chose this one due to my fondness for Cerave. Well, the first time I applied it, my face looked a mess. The sunscreen clung to every area of my face and it also left a terrible white cast on my very light skin. I attributed it to the fact that my oily, thick skin was not well-exfoliated, so I put this product aside and hit the hydroxy acids and the Differin hard and got my skin to looking better and smoother. Then I tried this product again. It still looked awful and I looked like I was wearing a white mask. Also, it stung. I don't know what caused that, but I was surprised. I will not buy this again. I went ahead and ordered a highly-protective Euro chemical sunscreen (sans Avobenzone) from frenchcosmeticsforless.com and I will see how that goes. In the meantime, I will use this Cerave product on my hands.

For a product that is supposed to be non-irritating, the multiple formulation changes have been super annoying. It was a reliable, trustworthy product for my sensitive, redness-prone skin about 3-4 years ago. It felt like a lightweight cream and I had no adverse reactions at all. The first reformulation I tried was more like a gel, and broke me out. The current formulation (a third?) is somewhere between the first and the second, texture wise, but provides the least moisturizing benefits of any of them, and still breaks me out. To add insult, the newest bottle is terrible. From about the 2nd use on I was untwisting the entire top and using the pump tube to scoop out product. I'm pretty distrustful of the entire brand now, which is disappointing because of how available and affordable it is.

I absolutely am in love with the ingredient list contained in the new CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Cleansing Water, Ultra Gentle Cleanser & Makeup Remover. This contains an impressive mix of multiple ceramides as well as niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. This does a great removing residue as well as makeup from the face and eye area. That is where my only issue with this product was. This can cause an amount of eye stinging and irritation. Quite a disappointment because otherwise this is an amazing fragrance free and alcohol free micellar cleanser that gives the skin numerous benefits. My video review can be seen here:

I loved the original version of the CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing lotion and used it night and day. It was my HG but then CeraVe changed the formula and now it breaks me out and pills under my makeup. My skin is very resistant and nothing breaks me out, I was so surprised to find out that CeraVe had changed the formula! Very disappointed and will not be repurchasing or recommending to my friends again.

This cleanser made my skin feel soft initially but after using it for a week it caused a huge breakout on my chin and also my both sides of my jaw. I rarely ever get breakouts that are not hormonal. I took a break, allowing my skin to normalize and tried it again. I got the same type of acne as before. I’m giving the bottle away to my Mother as she’s a fan of Cetaphil and has been wanting to try the CeraVe.

I bought this because I love all CeraVe products and I assumed I would love this one, too! It costs a little bit more than the other micellar waters at the drugstore, but at least it's readily available and reasonably priced. And it's a pretty effective cleanser! Gets all the makeup off just fine. But HOLY CATS does it burn the eyes! And look, if I'm using something to remove makeup, that's because I'm wearing makeup, which for me means always at least mascara. If I have to use something else to remove mascara, I just don't see the point of using this.Because I burn my eyes no matter how careful I am, I usually wind up rinsing this off. So there may well be great hydrating effects, but I wouldn't know about them. Right now I'm just using up the bottle I have, and I don't plan to repurchase.

Awful. I mean, sure, it probably shields your skin from harmful rays. BUT - it also applies in a thick, ghostly layer that never fully dries down. In my non-sunless tanner state I am pale (usually the lightest foundation color, or 2nd to lightest) and this made me just literally white. Not figuratively...literally. Takes time to dry down, and even when it does, it still sits on top of skin in a layer. Makeup does not sit nicely on top of this. Nope, it makes the foundation cakey and thick and blech. Stongly dislike this formula. Hoping I can return this. I tried it twice. It does not work for me at all. Would not even wear alone without foundation! Or on my body! Pros: available in drugstores, tube is handy and hygienic.Cons: absolutely everything else.

My favourite night cream! It's an ivory coloured moisturiser with a thick smooth texture with a wonderful jelly slip sensation. It does feel heavy on the skin, but lasts far better through the night than lighter night creams I've tried, and feels very hydrating and soothing. You can use this as an occlusive layer over serums and treatments to prolong their wear time overnight. It contains a handful of ceramides, shea butter, and niacinamide. My skin hates shea butter in general, but this seems to be fine - maybe it's the effect of the niacinamide reducing oil production? Whatever the reason, it doesn't irritate my skin or cause new spots, while still intensely hydrating my skin overnight. In the morning, my skin feels so soft after using this overnight, and isn't dry or irritated. I've ran out of it at the moment, waiting on my replacement one's delivery. It's on the affordable side when it comes to night creams, ~£12 or thereabouts. The major point of contention is the packaging - a jar! Aaargh, I despair that companies still put their products into what will become a hotbed of contaminants courtesy of dirty fingers rooting around. It's such a shame - I do still love this and the effects it has, but I really wish they'd offer the option of a pump dispenser or something. Oh well, not everything can be perfect.

These are totally lame. The fact that they are specifically labeled as "makeup removing" & "gentle" makes them even more offensive to me. They barely do anything, I have to wet them and tug at my face to get anything off. Even worse they sting my eyes! That is really bad that Cerave labels them to look like their hydrating cleanser which I use daily (not to remove makeup, for that I use bioderma makeup remover) anyways the hydrating cleanser is so soft and gentle on the skin unlike these wipes. Makeup removal Fail. For reference I wear diorshow mascara that is not waterproof and I believe not especially difficult to remove.

I have the one for oil control. I like this a lot because my face feels clean. It doesnt smell bad. And its gentle on acne prone skin. It rinses off nice and gets all the oil, dirt and makeup off my face. Its a gentle cleanser that wont strip your skin. It also does not leave a weird film on the skin after rinsing. I feel as if it actually balances my skin. my bf has ezcema, combo skin and he likes using this also

I’m a HUGE Cerave fan but this was a fail for me. It was a very thick cream, and even at night I don’t like that feeling of heaviness on my face. It seemed like it took forever to sink in, and it BURNED when first applied. I use retinoids regularly and nothing has stung my face like this. I definitely did not expect that from a Cerave product and was slightly disappointed.
I also did not notice improvement in my skin. Although it did not break me out (yay!) and it seemed to do its job of moisturizing overnight, I can name 1000 other moisturizers that do that as well. If your label says “skin renewing,” I’m expecting my face to look glowy and refreshed in the morning....
Overall this was not my favorite, and I will not repurchase this product.

Definitely holy grail material! I’m a self proclaimed skin care junkie. I’m always reading product reviews and I’m always on the lookout for something to improve my combination/oily/sensitive/acne prone skin. I have honestly tried a million different face washes, from drug store to high end, to Korean products and back again. This has been the only face wash I have consistently come back to every single time.
My skin is super oily in the summer (I live in a very hot, dry climate with hard water,) and although this face wash doesn’t really do anything to control my oil, I’m super happy with the fact that it does not break me out. I’m able to use primers to help control my oil, so it’s not a deal breaker. It feels soothing, lightly foams, and rinses clean. This face wash never dries out my skin. That tight feeling you get on your face after using certain face washes is non-existent.
My one issue is that it doesn’t remove makeup very well, so I always double cleanse at night. First with a makeup removing wipe or wash, then finishing with Cerave.
Also, it is fragrance free. And while most people are probably thrilled with that fact, I love products that smell good. To me, using a fabulously fragranced product makes washing my face feel like I’m doing something luxurious lol... and it boosts my mood. But you can’t win them all! And yes, I’m aware that fragranced products can be irritating to the skin.
It all boils down to this. If you want a basic, gentle cleanser that won’t break you out, Cerave is for you. A combination of Cerave products and Differin has worked wonders for my skin.

I consider this an upgrade to my previous HG Eucerin Aquaphor. CeraVe definitely deserves praise for its emollient packed, fragrance free formula that simultaneously soothes my chapped skin and lips.

I used this for 3 years now and I know that I’ll always use it. It’s really light on your face and you can feel the skin getting really hydrated, sometimes I feel the need to apply it more than twice a day. And the list of ingredients is full of helpful factors (as glycerin). Recommend it 👍🏼
