Mascara -Urban Decay - Troublemaker Mascara

Quite easy to apply but it irritates my eyes. I will go back to my Japanese brand or cheaper L’Oréal mascara

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Karuna Hydrating Face Mask

No complaints about this mask and we were left feeling hydrated, and our skin felt excellent. The packaging was exquisite, and the masks felt pretty lux.

Super hydrating mask. We loved using these, and I ended up repurchasing a variety pack of different types of Karuna masks. At $10/mask they are somewhat pricey, and they do rip easily.

Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original

It’s so thick, I cannot even smooth it out. Sticky and not easy to apply. Not for me again

Lipstick -Smashbox - Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick (all colors)

I got the shade Maneater, a gorgeous holiday red with a metallic sheen. I have over 15 red lipsticks from different brands, and none are as unique and pretty as this . Decent applicator size for easy application. There is only a slightly dry feeling on my lips , but nothing major. Lasts even while drinking, and wears many hours without a touch up. I get many compliments from family and friends when I wear it . Will repurchase again .

Shampoo -Avalon Organics Botanicals - Biotin B-Complex Thickening

I have fine, thinning hair and was hoping this would nourish my scalp and help me hold on to my hair longer. Totally satisfied on that score, I definitely am losing less hair in the shower. The texture of this shampoo is like water (maybe because it is sulfate free?) so it is a little hard to get it evenly distributed. It doesn't lather much but it does get my hair nice and clean. Need to use some kind of conditioner after this though.

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder

On the fence..
I mainly use the shade "translucent" when I'm going for the "buffing technique".
It gives a good coverage & doesn't cling to dry patches. That being said, it is detectable, It bright up the skin and "mess" with the original Sade of the foundation. Also, it makes my skin extremely Matt!!! I need to use a setting spray to take off the "powdery look". I think it's more suitable for oily girls.

Liquid -Revlon - Touch & Glow Moisturizing Makeup

When was this discontinued? I see only one review, from 2011. This is the best foundation I ever used. My mom and I used it in the 60s. What is a good dupe for this now? I've tried other foundations and nothing came close to this. Not only the creamy texture that melted into the skin but the perfect shades. Occasionally I've liked a foundation but this is the best one ever. It used to come in a tiny bottle so you'd use it up before it separated and went bad. The Revlon foundation bottles are too big now and they come pre-separated on the store shelves!!!

Liquid -Dior - Diorskin Sculpt [DISCONTINUED]

Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE. (Non lasting, Pricey, not for oily or normal skin type). BRAND NAME hardly matters if the product is lousy!

Concealers -Skinfood - Salmon Darkcircle Concealer Cream

on 10/13/2017 10:19:00 PM

I recently ordered this concealer in shade light off of Amazon. I don't remember exactly what I paid but it was totally reasonable, comparable to drugstore prices. I bought it because I'd seen other reviews--here, makeup blogs, Youtube--that said it was moisturizing and it went on smoothly. I'm in my late thirties now and though my skin is in good shape, fine lines and dryness were inevitable. I used to use NYX's peach-colored undereye concealer and though I tried to convince myself that it was fine, it really wasn't. After I tried the Skinfood concealer I chucked the NYX. The NYX seemed too stiff, hard to get on an even coat without pulling and tugging, the pot seemed more tall than wide, so when I tried using my finger instead of a little brush I would get it under my (short) fingernail. Then, when I tried to put another concealer or my foundation on top (I often used it to try to offset blue/purple veining under my eyes before applying foundation) it would ball up, leaving little flaky bits coming off, making my undereye look even more crepey. The Skinfood is the opposite of all that. Moisturizing (in fact, if your undereye is really oily you may not like this stuff) with better coverage and it plays well with other products. I'll buy it again but the amount is so generous that I may not need to for a while. With my luck it'll be discontinued when I go to look for more...

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Volume Arabica Coffee Fruit Conditioner

on 10/13/2017 10:11:00 PM

I really wasn't expecting much from this. A fellow MUAer with Barbie hair warned me she hates it and Herbal Essences has never blown me away in the past. I bought this as I was standing in Walmart for over an hour as usual, comparing ingredient lists. The ingredient list definitely stood out to me as one of their few properly formulated products with plenty of beneficial plant based ingredients. So I gave it a try.

This stuff feels like pure silicone despite all the natural sourced ingredients. And I'm not complaining. It detangles my hair like a dream and leaves it soooo smooth. There is a noticeable difference in the results between this conditioner and others I've bought to test drive recently.

I didn't notice added volume though. In fact I never even noticed that in the description until a few showers later. I think that if you have fine, greasy hair you might want to move along. This is an everyday conditioner, but it's on the heavier side.

This has exceeded my expectations by a lot. I will repurchase.
