Mascara -Lancôme -Hypnose Star

on 2/19/2019 10:47:00 PM

I am reviewing the Waterproof in Noir/Midnight. My objective is to give my short, fine lashes a visual boost and nothing more. I am a fan of the natural look and Hypnose Star delivers nicely. My first try was awful therefore one needs to get the hang of the product itself and funny shaped wand. The trick is to not load the product on - yes you will receive "Star" level thickness by adding layer after layer but your eyes will look sadly "trying too hard". My way after about a week of experimentation is to curl lashes first (Shu) then add ONE even layer of mascara from the lash bed to tips. Then, go over the lash tips very lightly with ONE more layer to create more length. This is a superior product to drugstore mascaras in my opinion as it create intense length without the dreaded squiggly/wavy look (I'm sure you know what I mean), it's dead waterproof (I have worked out in this mascara and worn it for 12 hours - no smudging at all) and my lashes are actually soft and touchable. Removing is not a chore as long as you have a good eye makeup remover. Removing Maybelline mascaras take more work and I always tend to lose a lash. I haven't lost a single lash with this product. I left our 1 lippy because this mascara will not hold my curl after perhaps 5 hours or so. Will repurchase or try Dolly Eyes next round !

Lipstick -CHANEL -Rouge Coco Cecile

on 2/19/2019 10:37:00 PM

For someone who hates lipsticks, who only ever use tinted lip balms and glosses, this is my HG favorite lip product in the world! I never wear liquid lips or anything matte because i have super dry lips. This is the perfect formula and color for me. I finally found my dream mlbb shade. Its so natural but makes me look put together and polished. Its the most comfortable lipstick ive ever tried other than the Rouge Coco Shines(glorified lip balm) i love the way Cecile looks and feels on my lips. Though this doesnt last as long as a matte formula would because it is so hydrating. It stays put for about 3 to 4 hours and It doesnt make my lips chapped/ cracked or peel like other formulas. I dont mind reapplying because it feels so smooth and it lasts a lot longer than the Rouge Coco Shines(30 minutes and it evaporates lol). If you like Rouge Coco Shine in Boy 54, then you would love this and throw Boy in the trash. Its the same hydrating, comfortable formula but with better longevity and pigment. Best part is that Cecile is not as streaky on application and is the same price for a bigger tube. I used to apply the Rouge Coco Shine formula 20 times a day, and i can finish a tube in less than 2 months. The Rouge Coco Lipstick will def last a lot longer! It has replaced my HG Boy 54. I am so in love with this lipstick, its a must have, i carry this around with me everywhere and apply it without a mirror, no problem.

I tried this in store along with 402 Adrienne. I was looking for a nude but Adrienne is way too peachy yellow brown on me. I much prefer Cecile for a natural satin pink petal lip color with a pearly sheen, but not glossy. It brightens my complexion in a discreet way without looking like i am trying too hard. It just looks like i have healthy naturally pretty soft pink lips. It feels moisturizing almost like a balm coating my lips evenly. The pearlized sheen just adds that radiant pouty plumpness and completes my look. I literally can ditch my chapstick because this lipstick is so hydrating. I dont use a lipliner either and it doesnt feel thick or heavy at all. Its half a shade smidge darker than my natural lips so i wouldnt call this a nude nude. It doesnt wash me out whatsoever. I am 20beige C1 nc20 in foundation shades. It is a pretty muted soft rosewood pink that is slightly cool mauve but still neutral and can def work for everybody.

For comparisons: Cecile is not a cool toned barbie pink like Mac Angel, Faux or Brave and is way more flattering on my skin. I also dislike Mac Honeylove, Yash and Kinda Sexy, they leans very orange and washed my out terribly. I do like Velvet Teddy but it is a bit too ashy/brown for me. Cecile is just the PERFECT shade in the middle, not too brown, not too peach and not too cool. Its slightly on the plum side but its not in any way unnatural or too purple/sickly. WAY MORE COMFORTABLE THAN ANY MAC LIPSTICKS(hate their formulas) I highly recommend trying this out and if its too light or pink id suggest either 424 Mademoiselle(darker/more brown) or 402 Adrienne(lighter/more peach), both of these are quite popular and it should work if Cecile is not the one for you!

Highlighters -theBalm Cosmetics -Cindy-Lou Manizer Highlighter Shadow & Shimmer

I don't understand what others are seeing? I always agree with Temptalia so I'm especially baffled with her awarding it glowing scores, as well as the over 80% rating here. To me, this isn't even a glowy blusher let alone a highlighter. It's a very dull glow and it's terribly chalky powdery (like most of thebalm stuff I've tried if not all, it kicks up tons of fallout.) It doesn't flatter me, the shade doesn't enliven my skin as it's a sallow dull dirty peach tone. The texture is drying and cakey. I hate it - and silly me bought a backup as I saw it on sale and grabbed 2 greedily. Maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere... :/

Tastes good, is glossy. But doesn’t last or moisturize very well

Liquid -RIMMEL -Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

I’ve got the shade: 103 True Ivory

It’s not my first Rimmel product that I’m using...I love their pressed powder and bronzer a lot!
The way I like to apply the foundation is with my fingers, I just find that this works the best for me and it gives me an even coverage all over the fast + a smooth finish.

Before I apply the foundation, I like to apply some moisturiser first, which makes it easier for me to apply.

It isn’t a full coverage foundation, which I personally don’t mind + I’m not after full coverage foundations if I’m using it on a daily basis! It can be applied very sheer, but you can build up to a medium coverage which is enough!

- Light weight
- Easy to apply
- For daily makeup application
- Mattifies and stays put all day long

- Only a few shades available
- Could be too dry for dry skin types

It’s a simple packaging and it comes in a tube + the shade is displayed on the tube as well.

It’s a drugstore product and it will cost you around $10 dollars depending on where you buy it from.

Where do i start with this sponge. I gotten to try so many and this one right here is really good. I think it beats out the RT and Beauty Blender and its not evening that expensive. And when you wet it , it expands really well. And i really like it .

Lip Treatments -Bite Beauty -Agave Lip Balm

This is my HG favorite lip balm with one huge caveat. The formula is way too soft and melts way too easily. If it melts away in my pocket in a climate controlled house in February its gonna be an unusable mess during the summer months unless I depot it into a container. Otherwise this actually moisturizes and heals dry cracked lips leaving them in better condition not parched and dehydrated like most lip products. Better packaging would help. There is too much space between the balm stick and the side of the tube so the stick started shifting around the second I tried to use it. Same problem. With the mini size as well. Not sure I would repurchase. I shouldn't have to repackage an $18 lip balm.

Primer/ Corrector -Milk Makeup -Blur Stick

For the longest time I thought this did nothing for my skin. Regardless, I still wore it daily because I bought the full size and I wanted to use it up. After all packaging is super cute and it smells like candy.
Fast forward one day where I forgot to put this on and my entire makeup wore so terribly on me the whole day. My foundation which holds up to oil really well was being eaten away by my oils and creasing into every line I had. My whole face was cakey.
I didn't realize this was actually making a difference to my makeup. When I wear it my foundation stays put all day and even my concealer doesn't crease under my eyes. I feel like it doesn't mattify a ton it just mostly makes my makeup stick onto my skin really well. I'm really happy with this as my primer. It's a staple for me now.
