Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics -The POREfessional

on 7/14/2018 1:56:00 AM

After hearing all of the rave reviews, I bought the travel-sized one since I knew I'd really only be using it on my nose. I have an oily t-zone and the pores and texture on my nose drive me crazy. This product does indeed blur out those imperfections and doesn't break me out. The last pore filling primers I tried were from e.l.f. and The Bodyshop and they both caused some painful zits. The perceivable cons to the Porefessional are:  A) It's a really expensive product and I will continue to search for a dupe that hopefully won't break me out. B) It only lasts all day under certain foundations. So far I've tried it under Maybelline's Fit Me Poreless, L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte and GA Luminous Silk. Unfortunately, it only last under the Luminous Silk so now I'm wondering if it will work at all with any drugstore foundation.  All this to say, it's good some of the time but for that price, it really should work all the darn time! :/

Highlighters -wet n wild -MegaGlo Highlighting Powder

Great highlighter especially for the price point! I have this highlighter in Botanic Dream and it's my favorite highlighter. In the packaging, it appears pinker but on the skin it applies very silvery. I don't mind this too much but if you wanted a pink highlighter this might not be what you expect. The tinge of pink is very slight in this product. I use a fan brush to achieve a blended and natural looking glow.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX Professional Makeup -Studio Perfect Photo-loving Primer

on 7/14/2018 1:30:00 AM

I have this primer in clear. I don't like it at all, for those saying it's a dupe for Smashbox's Photo Finish primer...sure it's a dupe in terms of packaging and texture but not at all in performance! This primer makes my oily skin...even oilier. It's useless to me and would only recommend it for those with normal skin types, not oily ones.

Primer/ Corrector -NYX Professional Makeup -Makeup Setting Spray - Matte Finish

on 7/14/2018 1:23:00 AM

For the people said this is a great mattifying setting spray, y'all are liars! I've even heard some compare it to the UD setting sprays...I don't notice any difference in my makeup's longevity at all. It does not prolong how long my face stays matte either. I would say it's useless but I managed to find a use for it and that's for wetting my makeup brushes for better pigmentation in lower quality eyeshadows. This is not a product I'd recommend to anybody, especially for those with oilier skin.

Have the red version *heat protectant. Like everything -- except the weird Hawaiian punch scent. If it didn't smell like this, it would be a 5/5. When it runs out, I will try to find something that doesn't smell so obnoxious God willing :)

Palettes -Urban Decay -NAKED3

on 7/14/2018 1:02:00 AM

This was my first ever eyeshadow palette and originally I was so excited to have it because there was a lot of hype around it! The packaging is gorgeous, the colors are great, but the formula isn't so great. I've had a lot of trouble trying to make this formulation work for me. The shimmers aren't very pigmented and in order to get better pay off you'll have to wet your eyeshadow brush, use an eyeshadow base (I used nyx's white eyeshadow base), or use glitter glue (I used the one by nyx). Regular old eyeshadow primer doesn't cut it. The best pay off I've had so far is with the eyeshadow base but even with all three methods, I find that my eyeshadow creases in a very ugly way an hour and a half to two hours after application. My favorite shades are Nooner, Factory, Darkside, and Blackheart with the last shade being very pigmented. Dust, Burnout, Buzz, and Liar are my least favorite and have the least pigmentation but with the above three methods you can coax some out. If I could go back in time, I would not purchase this and I don't recommend it either.

Eye Shadow -MAC -Lustre - Honey Lust

I have a fair to light oil olive skin tone. Honey Lust is a nice wash of shimmer and brightens my dark brown eyes. It's a lovely color on it's own but also to layer.

Mascara -Smashbox -Full Exposure

I like this mascara a lot. It's the first non-waterproof formula mascara that holds up very well against my oily lids and holds a decent curl. It's curl holding power is good even though my lashes do droop a bit after application. It volumizes in a natural looking, non-clumpy way, and I'm on my second tube already which says a lot since I like to try out other mascaras.

Primer/ Corrector -MILANI -Make It Dewy Setting Spray

on 7/14/2018 12:44:00 AM

I think the only thing I liked was how fine the mist was when I sprayed it.

I have dehydrated skin. Some makeup products can make me oily AF. I'm not sure if it's my skins reaction to an ingredient or not. But it made my skin get oily through out the day. So my foundation separated midday and was nowhere to be found at the end of the day.

Others seem to love this though. So if you don't have my problems give it a try.

Liquid -L'Oreal -Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation

on 7/14/2018 12:37:00 AM

This is the first foundation I purchased in a long time and I have to say that I'm pleased with its performance. My skin is very oily and the foundation keeps my skin looking matte for a decent amount of time. If you have oily skin and want a matte foundation but you're on the fence about it, I would recommend trying it out! The foundation range in store isn't great but online they have a wider variety of shades.
