Primer/ Corrector -Sephora Collection -Beauty Amplifier Afterglow Primer & Luminizer

foto

This is my favorite primer. I love the subtle glow it gives through my foundation & that I can use it just for a glow without any other makeup. I don’t have problems with it clogging my pores. I haven’t been able to tell if it makes my makeup last longer because I’ve never tried not using a primer. This has always been my favorite though!

Mascara -Stila -HUGE Extreme Lash Mascara

My favourite mascara ever. It makes my eyelashes look huge and voluminous. I don’t have problems with it flaking, although I do sometimes get some smudging if I’m not careful with my setting sprays (I’ve taken to applying my setting spray prior to applying this mascara and it has greatly improved this issue). This is my all time favourite mascara and I will definitely buy again.

Cleansers -No Brand (DIY or homemade) -Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

My frizzy hair woes solved! I wanted to give a quick tip - all the Youtubers use coconut oil as a mask, encouraging you to pour an entire cup onto your head. I instead use this more frequently (~every few days) but I only use about the size of a quarter (even for me with my full chest-length wavy hair, anything more than the size of a quarter is overkill). I apply it 4 inches away from the scalp so and blend it down to my damaged ends. My hair is always so soft and smooth - I check the forecast and if I see rain or humid weather I apply it in the morning - love me a good hair day.

I have a love hate relationship with this product. It applies beautifully. It covers pretty much everything and still looks like skin, minimizes pores, looks radiant! The problem is that it starts to get patchy after about 3 hours. I’ve tried with primer, without, with setting spray, without. Pretty much everything to make it work ☹️ By the end of the day this slid off of my oily areas and clung to dry patches......sexy right? Anyway, for $50, not worth it for me! The hg hunt continues!

Toners -Biologique Recherche -P50 PIGM

I know P50 1970 gets all the love, but for me this one is my HG. When I started with BR, I used PIGM 400 first and loved the effect, then tried upgrading to 1970 because I heard it was such a game changer. For my sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin, the 1970 was just too harsh and caused constant angry red pimples. After a few months of trying to convince myself that beautiful skin was just on the other side of this "purging," I finally went back to PIGM 400 a few weeks ago and now have glowing, almost acne-free skin again. I can't speak to how well it works for age spots, but for my mild upper lip melasma and red post-breakout hyperpigmentation, it works well. I can already see everything fading.

For me, P50 PIGM 400, Masque Vivant, Complexe Serum Iribiol, and Creme Dermopurifante are the HG products from this line and are the only ones I'll repurchase as long as I can afford them.

Blush -bareMinerals -Gen Nude Powder Blush

Nice thing - it comes with a nice little round compact and has no unnecessary embellishment. Bad thing - the pigments are too strong! I tapped my brush onto the blush and brushed it onto my cheek. The next thing I got was a patch of strong colour right on the apple of my cheek that was impossible to blend. I tried to sweep the excess on to the back of my hand. But it was impossible. The powder wouldn't come off on bare skin. To hard to work with.

I wear this in copper almost every day. I will agree with other reviewers that it is a heavier product, and sometimes if I'm not careful, I end up with kind of flakey bits, that I have to wipe away. That isn't to say that the product flakes throughout the day, I've never had that problem, just that if I'm heavy handed with application, I can tell. I love how easy it is to just swipe this a few times across my eyelids and call it a look. This is probably the most complimented makeup item I have ever worn, and is especially nice for days when I feel terrible. It does have a metallic/sparkly aspect, which might not be for everyone, but I've found it is a nice look for almost all my daily activities. It is a thicker application tip, so it would be difficult to only draw a thin line without using a brush, which I've never tried. It does tend to get messier as you use it, sometimes smudging on the pen itself. But I do like that it twists to reveal more product, and I have never had an issue with the mechanism on any of the sticks I've gone through. From daily use, I get about three months out of each one. Maybe more.

It isn't waterproof or budge proof, though, so I do have to remember to be careful and not rub my eyes. But I do appreciate how easy it is to take off at the end of the day!

Moisturizers -Trader Joe's -Nourish: Enriched Intensive Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer

Just an FYI: This product has been discontinued at my Trader Joe's in Ohio. I was really bummed, because I loved this stuff. I found an alternative product that has the exact same ingredients for the same price. It is skin Resource MD total skin moisturizer. $12 for 8 oz (Trader Joe's was $7 for 4 oz).

Unlike a lot of the negative reviewers, I did not have any issues with smudging or flaking. I actually loved the look of this mascara. The dealbreaker for me, however, is that it irritated my sensitive, contact-wearing eyes like CRAZY. I've never reacted this way to a mascara. My eyes itched all day both times I wore it. Off to the trash can with this one. Fortunately it was just a sample size and I didn't waste money on it.

I'm writing this review for the product in a 200g tub, and so I realize that my usual annoyance at products in tubs is 100% my own fault in this case, but I like having a lot of this stuff on hand!

I have a lot of issues finding lip balms/products/chapsticks that I like. Either I need to reapply them every ten minutes, or they just sort of make my hair stick to my mouth without doing much. This product has been a life saver! I can put a layer on along with the rest of my nightly skincare regime, and not need to reapply any kind of moisturizing lip product until the next night! It has a pleasant texture, a kind of browish/orange color that doesn't show when you're putting it on, and while it does leave a nice sheen, this is not a lip gloss. To mitigate my hatred of tub products, I usually apply this with a Q-tip. I've also applied it to my cuticles when they were looking worse for wear, little scabs/scars/burns (no open wounds, though, obviously), and on my elbows. It works just about everywhere!
