Eye Shadow -e.l.f. Cosmetics -NEW CLASSICS EYESHADOW PALETTE

on 2/17/2019 6:20:00 PM

I have a few other elf palettes that are okay, but not the most pigmented (mad for matte) so I read a few online reviews for this palette before buying and trying. One of the comments I read was "not pigmented". Uh, this has pigment. Even the neutral matte shades have pigment with one dip of my brush. I made the mistake of assuming no pigment and jumped heavy into the shade 'black cherry" and ended up with black eyes. This has pigment. I plan to play around with this more, but for the price, I enjoy elf palettes and think its worth it! The only reason I'm giving it 3 lippies for now is because of the shades. I wish there would have been more mattes and a few less shimmers to be a "classics" palette, but I still like she shades they picked. In photos, the colors look muted, but some are shimmers so they look a bit glam for every day. They arent too bright per se, but when I think of classics, I think of an everyday shades/colors sort of palette. Glad to have, and am looking to buying the opposites attract palette as well.

Brows -e.l.f. Cosmetics -ULTRA PRECISE BROW PENCIL

on 2/17/2019 5:30:00 PM

This is a nice brow pencil if you need a very small tip and a lot of specific definition. The pencil component is a bit thin if you compare it to their white instant lift $2 pencil (which I like) but I find the black sleek pencil gives a higher end look to it. If you have patches that need good filling in, this will take a lot of strokes to fill because the tip is small and thin, which makes me wonder how long one pencil will last. (3 lippies). But for going in to define parts after you use a brow mascara to fill larger spots, its great. Especially if you need a very fine line to define the tapered ends or tail of your brows. They also have some different shades, including a cool brown, which I would like to try. The shade I grabbed at my local store is neutral brown, which is true to its name. I like a very dark but ash brown brow, and neutral brown is right down the middle, not too red, not too ash. But if elf has a sale, I'd like to try cool brown. For $5 its not bad. I prefer their $2 one more just because its not as thin, and their brow wax kit much more. But elf's brow section is great if you dont want to spend a ton of $$$.

Masks -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Hydrating Bubble Mask

The bubbles were really fun, don't get it in your eyes though, they would sting. It really moisturized my skin, gave it a soft smooth finish, after wards I didn't even need to moisturize. It worked better than my Cereve moisturizer in that department. So if you don't mind the hassle and you want something fun this product totally works. It was fun and it moisturized my skin.

Misc Beauty Tools -e.l.f. Cosmetics -Sculpting and Blending Sponge

on 2/16/2019 1:47:00 AM

Wow, I love this sponge and it is cheap AF so if I leave them in hotel bathrooms when I travel for work, it is no big loss.

I was surprised when I read the previous review because I love this so much more than the RT sponge. I used to like the RT one well enough when it first came out but then it changed, so I started looking for others to try. I love my beauty blender sponges but hate traveling with them for the reason stated above. When I lose a BB, I curse myself since they run $20, but the ELF sponge is like $4 or $5 so the loss is minimal. The RT sponges started shredding after the 3rd or 4th wash and I wash my sponges a LOT, so I had found that the RT wasn’t that good of a deal when my BB will last months after using and washing daily, and I usually toss for hygenic purposes and not because they are falling apart. The same goes for the ELF sponge!

The ones that I have been purchasing are a little denser than my BB, but the pores are micro-sized so they don’t absorb my products and they blend everything so smoothly. It is so strange that our descriptions of the product are 180 degrees apart! So far I have purchased about 3 of these and haven’t come across one that is as described by the previous reviewer, I am thinking they possibly got one from a batch that should never have passed QA/QC. Hopefully they will give it another try and it works better. I absolutely love mine and will continue to use, I just pray they don’t change production facilities or the way it’s currently manufactured!

Concealers -e.l.f. Cosmetics -16HR Camo Concealer

on 2/15/2019 2:48:00 PM

I've tried every concealer - from NARS to Revolution cosmetics and even the new Morphe (which I only used once!). I've never found a light enough concealer, that doesn't settle into lines and isn't too dry. Thankfully the ELF concealer is near PERFECT!

Pros -
A great shade range - I'm very pale with pink undertones and the colour I chose is probably too pale, even for me!
Great price (£5),
Simple, luxury looking packaging,
Isn't too drying and doesn't make my under-eye area look like a desert,
You don't need to bake straight away (unlike Revolution cosmetics) as it doesn't settle into lines,
A little goes a long way,
Doesn't cake with powder,
Cons -
The palest is VERY pale! Not really a con as it's great for other skin tones!

Overall, I'm so happy I decided to try this concealer. Perfect for anybody else with super dry skin that hates their concealer setting into lines and doesn't cake after baking. Xx
