Too Faced

Too Faced Cosmetics was founded in the US in 1998, by Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson. (Blandino had worked at Estee Lauder makeup counters in the mid-90's.)That same year the company created the "world's first glitter eyeshadow." Known for its innovative style and intricately detailed products, the brand grew quickly and was eventually acquired by Estée Lauder in 2016.

Concealers -Too Faced -Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer

on 11/15/2018 4:25:00 AM

With all the glowing reviews I bought this concealer, in the shade Nude, with high hopes. The bottle was huge compared to the average concealer purchase, however I found the doe foot applicator was also fairly huge which is difficult for a targeted application. I dabbed some on the back of my hand and applied under my eyes with a small concealer brush and finger tapped it to blend, then baked with It finishing powder. The results were incredibly disappointing: it looked dry and highlighted every fine line. The color - oh, no. Nude was described as fair rosy. Not on me it wasn’t. Definite yellow cast.

So thinking it was application, I proceeded to test it over the next two weeks. Primer, under foundation, over foundation, baked, not baked; different foundations, nothing made a difference. Dry, scaly looking, yellow skin. High hopes dashed. A definite no for me.

Loose Powders -Too Faced -Peach Perfect Loose Setting Powder

This broke me out something ROTTEN. Must be to do with the hugely over-powering scent. It’s not just a *slight* perfume, it’s overwhelming. Something THAT scented shouldn’t be put on the skin, I’m afraid. Sorry Too Faced. Cute packaging, applies nicely (very soft/finely milled), performs well (doesn’t settle into lines and maintains a nice finish) and holds a reasonable price tag considering how much is in the container. Shame it gave me boil-type-under-the-skin breakouts which only healed when I stopped using the product. It’s a no from me.

Mascara -Too Faced -Better Than Sex Mascara

This mascara has become an absolute staple in my makeup bag. I have tried more mascaras than I can count, drug store and high end, and I always come back to this because nothing compares. It makes your lashes look fake, and does a really good job at lengthening. The only complaint I have is that it seems to dry out pretty quick, and it is a little pricey, and I find myself having to repurchase more often that I’d like. However, it is definitely worth it and will make your lashes look so much thicker and longer.

I love Toofaced but this concealer is a fail. It has zero coverage, creases badly and smells like artificial coconut water. Waste of money!

Foundations -Too Faced -Born This Way Foundation

Not a good foundation for very dry, flaky, mature skin. I'd been wanting to try it forever, and when i finally did, i was sadly disappointed. Firstly, i'm surprised they claim it's "undetectable" because it definitely looked like foundation sitting on my skin. Second, they say it has a radiant finish, but on me it was satin, almost matte actually. Finally, they say it is full coverage (on Sephora's site at least), but on me it was definitely medium coverage (I could still slightly see all my sunspots). It's very thick, and also too yellow (i got the color Porcelain, which is described as "very fair w/ neutral undertones", and i usually wear NC18/N18 in MAC, but it was also a little too dark). I tried applying it with several methods too: fingers, brush, damp beauty blender, as well as tried it with different primers underneath (Milk Blur Stick, and Too Faced Hangover Rx), but nothing made a difference, it just didn't look good on my skin. It exacerbated all my dry patches, texture issues, and pores. It didn't really make my face feel dry or dehydrated though. It would probably be a nice foundation for oily or normal skin.
