Too Faced

Too Faced Cosmetics was founded in the US in 1998, by Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson. (Blandino had worked at Estee Lauder makeup counters in the mid-90's.)That same year the company created the "world's first glitter eyeshadow." Known for its innovative style and intricately detailed products, the brand grew quickly and was eventually acquired by Estée Lauder in 2016.

Eye Shadow -Too Faced -Chocolate Bon Bons Eyeshadow Palette

I am not impressed. I am not a big fan of the too faced formulas, since I always find them to sit a bit weird on the eye, almost like they are too powdery. There are some shades that I enjoy from the palette, like the two matte brown shades and the taupe, but I generally don't enjoy the rest of them. I also find that some of the shades would have been better off being other formulas, like the pink one maybe being a true matte rather than a satin and I find that the shimmers look awful on my eyes. I like the mirror and the smeel, but find the packaging a bit tacky

Primer/ Corrector -Too Faced -Hangover Rx Replenishing Face Primer

Used to think I loved this primer, since is hydrated my combination to dry skin, but I found out that it broke me out like crazy, leaving me with huge scars right now even though I stopped using this product for months!

Lip Treatments -Too Faced -Lip Injection

I have the original version that appears like a translucent pink in the tube but comes off as clear on the lips.

I LOVE this lip gloss! I'm not normally a gloss person but I apply this gloss multiple times per day since I bought it. I actually normally strongly dislike gloss, but this is the first gloss that has ever blown me away.

It's perfect for my every day. It gives me a very high shine, glass-like effect which I love. It lasts a very long time for a gloss, and since my least favorite part about wearing glosses is needing to reapply, this makes me very happy. It's sticky but nothing that bothers me. It's very nourishing, which is amazing. I have dry, chapped, crusty lips ALL the time. After removing this gloss I feel as if I've been wearing a very hydrating and healing chap stick. It makes my lips so soft and smooth, which is a welcome change.

I have full lips naturally, but I wanted a little something something more. It does give my lips a nice plump effect, and evens them out a bit (my top lip is significantly smaller than my bottom lip). I'm very happy with the way it fills out my lips because they look juicy but the change is not unnatural looking or overly noticeable. Just kind of looks like my lips have been perfected. It does sting for a minute or so after application but nothing crazy. I actually kind of like the tingly feeling. Maybe I'm crazy.

Would highly recommend this if you want a little boost for your lips, along with a low effort, nourishing every day lip product :)

Liquid -Too Faced -Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation

My skin:
Currently on Accutane, a prescription drug for acne which in a nutshell, dries out your skin like crazy.
I'm prone to flakes and clinging to dry patches.
NC35-37, wearing shade Warm Beige in this foundation.

This foundation is a dream come true.
It applies very smoothly, blends effortlessly, blurs out the pores on my T-zone, does NOT cling to flakes and/or dry patches (however I do give credit to my exfoliating regime and the wonderful, non-greasy hydration that argan oil provides) and wears throughout the day perfectly- it does not transfer even after a long wear time. I find this foundation applies equally as good with either a brush or a sponge, however I do personally prefer a sponge as it tends to look a bit more natural. It also photographs very beautifully, which is a pleasant plus!
I cannot say how this will wear on oily skin. I will mention that the oiliest part of my face is my nose (which always looks super duper greasy after awhile despite being on Accutane), and at the end of the day my whole face looks the exact same as when I applied, so I predict that it will be a safe choice for my oily skinned girlfriends too.

I think this is very comparable to my old HG foundation Estee Lauder Double Wear. They both have medium-buildable coverage, they have matte finishes, they wear well and have a similar feel on the skin.
I would actually even say that I now prefer this foundation more to the ELDW, because of the following:
Too Faced Peach Perfect has a soft matte yet still skin-like finish.
ELDW tends to look a bit like a stark matte mask sometimes (in other words, cakey lol)
Peach Perfect comes with a looot more product for less money. You get 46mL of product for $45CDN which is an amazing deal compared to other high-end foundations sold at Sephora. For reference, ELDW gives you the standard 30mL for $48 CDN. This point alone is enough to make me repurchase Peach Perfect over ELDW any day.

I've been reaching for this foundation more than any other in my collection (and there's a lot to choose from), so it's safe to say that it's my new favourite! Will definitely repurchase and recommend to my fellow normal to dry skin gals.

Palettes -Too Faced -Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eye Shadow Palette

on 11/19/2017 11:15:00 AM

This is my first Too Faced palette and I have to say this palette completely hit it out of the park for me. I have been contemplating buying the ever so hyped up Chocolate Bar palette for the longest time but the shades just don't excite me so when I saw this limited edition palette I grabbed it during the Sephora VIB sale. I am so glad I did.

First off, the colors - I am just in love with the peachy pinky and plummy scheme that's going on here. You can definitely still do a very neutral look but you can also go a way more dramatic route if you desire. All the colors have great pigmentation and goes on smoothly without skipping. I have the Tartelet in Bloom palette from Tarte (which I love and gave it a five start as well) but I have to say the matte formula Too Faced came up with for is palette is superior than the Tartlet in Bloom.

It also smells amazing - I know this would turn off people who are sensitive with fragrance but I enjoy taking a whiff of the sweet peachy smell before I do my eye makeup. Also the packaging cannot be more beautiful - it is gold and feels substantial and love the magnetic closure and the mirror. It is very travel friendly. I love my ABH Modern Renaissance palette so much (I feel like the two palette can achieve a similar look) but I never want to take the MR when I'm traveling because of the light pink velvet packaging and this answers my prayer.

All and all so impressed with this palette and I am so glad I didn't go for the Chocolate Bar. I am sad that this is only a limited edition. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a peachy/pink/plummy shades.
