Too Faced

Too Faced Cosmetics was founded in the US in 1998, by Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson. (Blandino had worked at Estee Lauder makeup counters in the mid-90's.)That same year the company created the "world's first glitter eyeshadow." Known for its innovative style and intricately detailed products, the brand grew quickly and was eventually acquired by Estée Lauder in 2016.

Palettes -Too Faced -White Peach Eyeshadow Palette

on 1/15/2019 12:29:00 PM

The White Peach eyeshadow palette from TooFaced contains the following shades; Peach Cream (matte soft cream), Peach Suede (matte dusty rose), Peaches & Dreams (golden peach pearl), Crème de la Peach (soft coral with gold sparkle), Peach Sorbet (matte creamy peach), Glistening Peach (rose gold with sparkle), Peach Smoothie (matte rose taupe), Sweet Fig (matte smoky mauve), Peach Ice (white shimmer with gold sparkle), Fuzzy (matte creamy grey), On the Grill (matte charcoal grey) and Peach Passion (deep orchid with blue and purple sparkle).

If you want a Just Peachy; Part 2-style shade selection, then this palette probably won't do it for you, the shades here are neutral/cool, rather than the warm shades that make up the brand's other peach themed eyeshadow palette. But if you prefer soft & more subtle looks and are over the warm palettes that have taken over the market or have to wear conservative colours to work, then I recommend trying White Peach. It's also a great palette to use when I'm using more intense shades from elsewhere and I want softer shades to pull the look together. I've also been into making the most out of my eyeshadow collection recently and have found that the matte shadows make excellent blushes - Peach Suede and Peach Sorbet are my personal favourites.

As the shades all have white bases they have some kick-up to them - kick-up has never been a factor in if to get something or not for me, but if it bothers you then yes, there is some. The shades are all pigmented, but as the shades are in the lighter category [except for On The Grill and Peach Passion], I'm not sure if they'd come off as ashy on deeper skintones, so that's a downside. If you live near a Sephora, I'd definitely recommend going in and testing this, before buying it.

My only issue with the White Peach palette is that the microglitter that is in four of the shades can be messy, due to fallout - I've found that using a concealer as a primer helps the sparkle stick better than a regular eyeshadow prime. This niggle is worth it for me, as the microglitters give the shades a colour-shift effect [Glistening Peach reminds me of Huda Beauty's dui-chrome shade Angelic, that is in Rose Gold and Desert Dusk].

Eyeliner -Too Faced -Glitter Pop! Peel-Off Eyeliner - Hey Mr. DJ

on 1/13/2019 6:22:00 PM

Hey Mr DJ is Black liquid eyeliner with gold flecks. Its so pretty on the back of my hand. But on my eyes? Its just not.
I have a difficult time getting the glitter on one eye to match the glitter on the other eye. But getting it even doesn't solve the problem - the glitter itself just seems the wrong size and the glitter is disappointingly sparse and lackluster. On the plus side - it REALLY DOES peel off, and the brush is great at making a thin straight line. I may actually dump the product and keep the brush.

To apply, you'll have to dip your brush multiple times into the Glitter Pop liquid to complete a line because the brush is so small it doesn't hold much product. And you DO need to be generous with the amount you apply. First - the more you apply, the easier it is to peel off. If you skimp, its shreds as you try to remove it. Second - you need to be generous because this stuff shrinks a little as it dries. If you don't apply enough, evenly enough, the eyeliner can pull apart while its drying and a little "naked" skin colored section will be left in the break that you will have to touch up.

The problem is Hey Mr DJ isn't good at being black. It isn't good at beling glittery. And doesn't bring pop or shine to your eye. It looks distracting. It looks like you don't know how to apply your own makeup.

I also own the gold version of this - called Lucky Btch. The same rules of application apply but its a much better product. It makes a beautiful "second" line of eyeliner next to black eyeliner. Its glittery and gold and catches the light. No complaints about that one. Just know that neither of these shades is a multi use product the way that Stila Glitter & Glow (and their similarly named products) is. Glitter and Glow is eyeshadow that can be used as intended, or sheered out, or applied in a single line as eyeliner. You can't use Too Faced Glitter Pop as eyeshadow and you can't use it sheered out.

If peel off glittery eyeliner appeals to you, I recommend you try their gold one (Lucky Btch) or one of their other colors. Leave Hey Mr DJ on the shelf.

Eye Makeup Remover -Too Faced -Mascara Melt Off

on 1/13/2019 2:21:00 AM

My mascara is non-waterproof, previously, it was quite difficult and messy to get the mascara off when I used a wet cotton pad to remove. I usually lose like 1-2 lashes in the removal process. Now, with the remover, it was less messy, less tissues/cotton pads used, less time also! Although slightly expensive for a remover, but worth every penny as my mascara flakes don’t get into my eyes as I m rubbing off the mascara. None of my eyelash actually fell out OMG! I purchased the deluxe size product, small and great for travelling too! Love Love Love the design and sleekness of the tube!

Liquid -Too Faced -Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation

on 1/10/2019 6:10:00 PM

I love this foundation, it is my go-to. I have used this non-stop since picking it up. It is gorgeous. It also is quite large, and you get more product in this bottle (40ml) than you do from a standard foundation (30ml), making it great value for money. It comes in a pump bottle, and has a medium consistency. Somewhat creamy but not too thick. It has a very strong peach scent which I love, but may be a turn-off for those who are sensitive to fragrance. My preferred method of application is with a damp sponge, though a brush works well too. It applies easily, without streaking or caking. It blends easily into the skin and gives a medium-full coverage without looking cakey or mask-like. My freckles can still peek through, though blemishes and redness will be covered. It wears well and really is transfer proof! I wore this when I had a cold and was blowing my nose, and it still held up! It lasts all day without transferring or disappearing, it is my favourite to wear for a long day at work in the heat. I absolutely adore this foundation and would happily recommend it to everyone, and definitely repurchase.

Palettes -Too Faced -Natural Matte Neutral Eyeshadow Palette

I'm reviewing the newest version of the palette, and I didn't use the older version so I'm unable to compare.

I picked this up a month ago, and I've used it everyday since. I find the shades to have varied levels of intensity, but they're all buildable and I love how the darkest shades are less pigmented as I don't have to be very careful when I'm building up my outer V but can still be very dark and intense if I use them as eyeliner. This is a great everyday palette, and I think it's best geared towards those that need more conservative makeup for school or work, those that don't want to think very hard when getting ready as you literally have your base, lid, and outer V shades lined up nicely in a row for you, or you just like neutrals and are sick of having pops of colors in other palettes that you don't use.

I took off a lippie because primer or concealer is a must, if you apply this on bare lids it will disappear in an hour or two. I have found the best results with the Milani primer. And just personal preference annoyances, I don't like the domed lid as it takes up unnecessary room in your drawer or makeup bag.
