At first this was a bit "perfumey" to my nose (which is ironic). It smells just a bit like Susanne Lang Cashmere, but not quite as much like CK Obsession as that one does (this has more orange in it, I think?).I liked it, but didn't LOVE it till one day I tried it over some older Terra Nova Red Tea and Cocoa Blossom that I had (which is sadly discontinued). The combination of the two is just divine, and now I'm sad...

I sampled this from Sephora.. Initial take: cheap drugstore hair conditioner.. Not unpleasant, but MEH. After a while, it developed more into a cloying musk on me. Not my cuppa tea.

Created of rhubarb, papaya, ginger, iris, Moroccan rose, saffron, sandalwood and musk, this is delicious.Spicy, fresh and clean at the same time. Would be HG but strongly lacking in sillage and longevity. Wish it lasted longer. If you like this, you should try: ~BS Hidden Fantasy~JPG Classique~

This is definitely a softer version of Burberry Brit, without the lime. I would not repurchase as I prefer Burberry, but I am enjoying the sample to use during the day when I don't want a stronger scent.

I cannot tell you how often I've tried to love various Tocca perfumes. I love the bottles, I love the notes that they purport to contain, and I love the branding of this line in general. Inevitably, though, the fragrances themselves have failed to win me over. Florence is so close to a win for me, but it just falls down in execution. The main problem is that it is gardenia-centric. I have never really found a gardenia note in perfume that I like. They always pale in comparison to a real gardenia, coming off as shallow and insipid. This one is no exception. I get a blast of sweet, fake gardenia in the opening that is faintly underlaid with violet. It unfortunately takes on an aquatic tinge shortly into the drydown that makes me sneeze. This effect persists for hours, and it gets sharply, generically floral, as well. I wish the scent were as complex as the description implies. It *should* have a fruity opening, allegedly involving bergamot, pear, apple, and grapefruit leaves. It's also supposed to have iris, "blonde" wood, and musk. I say to all of this: nope.
