Bronzers -TheBalm -Bahama Mama Bronzer, Shadow & Contour Powder

on 7/15/2018 9:37:00 PM

I got a sample of this in my ipsy bag, probably a year and a half ago, and I still use it (I do not wear makeup daily). I use this bronzer often when I do wear makeup, but I would not say it's my favorite, I guess. I'm not sure why, I think it might be the texture/look of the powder.

The thing I like about it is that it's cool-toned, and I have pulled it off as both a contour and a bronzer. I have a natural contour that is very cool-toned, even though I have warm-neutral skin, so it is weird to me to use anything warm-toned near that area. A lot of bronzers I receive or buy are somehow always warm-toned compared to this one.

Blush -TheBalm -Frat Boy

This blush is a gorgeous, universally flattering pink with a touch of peach in it. It is beautiful on its own and on top of Bahama Mama bronzer. Its staying power shares the endurance of its sisters in theBalm collection. Quality and color payoff = value. A winner.

Bronzers -TheBalm -Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush

on 7/12/2018 9:20:00 AM

I am MAC NW13, and freckled, which I love. I adore this bronzer/blush for the inclusion of red in its color, which makes it so natural on me. The red is undetectable in the pan, but you will see it when applied. In the pan, it looks like an ordinary bronzer, not light, not dark, but mid-tone, belying its unique nature. I sometimes use it as blush with Chocolate Soleil to warm the complexion, sometimes as bronzer and blush. I redden in the sun as do most redheads, so this is the most natural bronzer for me. I use a light touch (all that's necessary) for great color payoff and my use is nearly undetectable in the pan. I suppose it could be classified as pricey, but the value steps in with how little must be used for lovely effect. BalmDesert is unique, and will always be in my makeup wardrobe.

Tinted Moisturizer -TheBalm -BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer SPF 18

I do like how this product has SPF. That's important to me since I'm very pale. But the lightest shade doesn't match my skin tone after it oxidizes. It just oxidizes too dark. I wish it didn't because when I first put it on it matches my skin tone. I also wouldn't call it a moisturizer. I have very dry skin and it doesn't moisturize my face. Just shows off my flakes. I have to put face cream on then put it on right after in order for it to not show my flakes. Sometimes the product itself flakes off depending if I didn't put it on right after the face cream. I also think it's too overpriced. I just think this product isn't ideal for fair skinned or very dry skin.

Highlighters -TheBalm -Mary-Lou Manizer

This is my HG face highlighter! The Mary-Lou is definitely for warm skin toned gals. If you are cool toned you will need to get the Cindy-Lou which is the sister highlighter. But back to this product, Mary-Lou...holy cannoli! Does it ever make a beautiful finish and my last step in my make-up. It is completely buildable and you can make it as subtle or as dramatic as you want and totally gives a beautiful affect to your face.

It would be helpful if you knew what the "triangle of light" is as you apply it to your face for the best result.

I have repurchased this as a back up.
