Cleansers -The Body Shop -Aloe Calming Facial Cleanser

on 11/21/2017 9:55:00 AM

I first bought this years ago on a complete whim, and was impressed with how it cleansed my skin without drying, and actually lived up to the "calming" claim, as it could soothe red and irritated skin. I used it up and went on to try other cleansers. I recently repurchased this because I was looking for a cleanser to use in the shower in the am., not something to deep clean or remove makeup, but just something to freshen my skin without drying it, and I remembered really liking this. This has been reformulated, and it's just not as good.

I can't put my finger on what has changed but I just don't find this as soothing as I did before. It's a cream cleanser that does not foam at all. It doesn't dry my skin out or cause any bad reaction, but it doesn't "calm" like the previous formulation did. All in all, it's an okay product but it's pretty expensive and not super impressive. And it really annoys me that the front of the bottle has a picture of aloe leaves (cross-sectioned) and it says something like "with hand-filleted aloe from Campeche, mexico" but when you read the ingredients, the only aloe-based ingredient is "aloe powder". Give me a break.

Fragrances -The Body Shop -Leap Perfume

on 11/21/2017 7:54:00 AM

I cannot believe The Body Shop discontinued this oil either. Years ago I went into our local shop to get a new bottle and an infused body lotion. I bought both constantly. I was told it was discontinued and that it was never coming back.. it never has. After years of begging and pleading with them at the corporate level to give me the “notes” and being refused, I called our friends in Canada, and they emailed me the information I wanted from their corporate office. Mimosa is definitely on the list. If I can find the list (it’s been years and years) I will post it here. Thanks for fragrance ideas..I’m looking into them. I’ve never found anything even close to Leap. I’m willing to try any suggestions ♥️

Moisturizers -The Body Shop -Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion

It feels really cheap and doesn’t sit on my skin well it rubs off and leaves it feeling dry which made the redness in my blemishes look worse

Cleansers -The Body Shop -Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

on 11/17/2017 1:47:00 AM

I have used a lot of expensive cleansers in the past such as Clarins, Liz earle, elemis and temple spa. Elemis being my favourite but since having a baby I cannot condone spending so much on a cleanser so I decided to try this one from the body shop.

This manages to take off all of my make up easily. I have waited a week to write this review to see if this was drying or made me break out but it did neither. My skin is soft and looks healthy. Would definitely buy again!!

Conditioner -The Body Shop -Banana Nourishing Conditioner

on 11/15/2017 9:05:00 PM

I love bananas and I love their smell. But the smell of this conditioner is way too intense for my liking.
It smells like a freshly opened pack of dried bananas, and the smell lingers for about a day. It's just too much.
Otherwise great product. Moisturize without weighing my hair down, adds shine, doesn't build up.

I used the whole bottle (pushed myself into finishing it), but I won't buy it again.
